Pass function in XML

Hello all,
My question is can you write a function in an XML document and then load that XML document into Flash and call that said function?
Thanks in advance

I want to be able to load additional functions into my .swf through the loading of XML for example:
<instruction>
<myFunction>testFunction = function(){trace("yes loaded");}</myFunction>
</instruction>
And then to be able to call the "testFunction" once the XML has loaded.

• Can I pass function name as a parameter to constructor?

Hi!
I want to create a class that extends JButton and executes some function, when released. The function for each button is different. I mean, can I write, for example:
public class MyButton extends JButton
public MyButton(...functionName...)
addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter()
public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e)
...execute functionName...;
MyButton testButton = new MyButton(printTest);
void printTest()
System.out.println("The button executes OK");
(This code will not work, of cause).
If you understood me, please answer if there is any way to pass function as a parameter ?
Thank you in advance.

Using reflection would work, but there is a more straightforward way. Here's what I do when I want to pass a method to be called by another object: First I declare an interface named Callback:public interface Callback
public void run();
}Then your class would look like this:public class MyButton extends JButton {
private Callback doit;
public MyButton(Callback whatToDo) {
doit = whatToDo;
addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter() {
public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
whatToDo.run();
}and the code that creates a MyButton might look like this:Callback callMe = new Callback() {
public void run() {
System.exit(0);
MyButton closeButton = new MyButton(callMe);
closeButton.setText("Close");If you like, you can adapt this pattern to use variations of Callback that have parameters or return values.

• Reg: sum() function in XML

500
i am gettting total like 1200 actually it should be 1000.

• Passing function parameters in a non-sequential fashon

Consider the function below:
function personal(Name:String,age:int,city:String):void
trace(Name+" is "+age+ " years old and lives in "+city+ ".")
The parameters can only(???) be passed in the order they are declared in the function as shown below.
personal("John",40,"London"0)
If the order is changed as: personal("London",John", 40), there will obviously be a type related error (position 2 parameter is an integer).
Is there a way of passing function parameters as: personal(city="London",Name=John",age= 40)?
That way one does not have to worry about the 'order' in which the parameters are passed.

Micheal, I love such ELEGENCE.
One more question, before I 'attempt' to go to bed!
Below is code extracted from my main class definition.
Notice how I 'populate' the artist object before I pass it on as a parameter to my saveRecord function.
It is rather clamsy, I think. Is there a better way of doing it?
import ARTISTS
var artist:ARTISTS = new ARTISTS;
artist.ARTISTID = 123678;
artist.FIRSTNAME = "Gordon";
artist.LASTNAME = "Brown";
artist.ADDRESS= "13 Darwin Street";
artist.CITY= "London"
saveRecord(artist);
saveRecord(params:ARTISTS){

• How to Pass values from XML to JSP??? Urgent Please Help me

Hi guys,
I am new to XML, I want to pass values from XML to JSP. I have a xml file with attributes, I should send this values to a JSP file. How is it??? Please Help guys.... its very urgent. Please send me how to do it with an example or atleast any urls related that....
Looking for ur favourable reply.
Thanks in advance,

in a servlet :
parse your xml file (see how at the end of the post) and
put the values you want in the request attributes
request.setAttribute("value1", value1);
...redirect to the jsp
in the JSP:
get the wanted attributes:
String value1=(String)request.getAttribute("value1");To learn how to parse a xml file, pay a look at this page, it explains how to read the XML document to build an object representation, and then how to navigate through this object to get the data

• How to pass Function code to Submit or Call transaction command

Hi
I have to call a report in an other report, But the problem is when i call the report through submit command i need to skip the initial screen and display an other screen. the other screen is not next screen. It display after clicking a button on main screen.
Is there any way to pass Function code to submit command. submit command code is as under
SUBMIT ZADR0056
WITH P_AUFNR = '7000052' AND RETURN...
Regards
Ammad

Hi,
It is not possible to pass function code with submit. alternatively you can work with CALL TRANSACTION with BDCDATA.
Or as a work arround way you can modify your code i.e check for function code or an dummy parameter which can be passed by SUBMIT statement.
Check below code..
Report ztest1.
submit ZTEST2 WITH P2 = 'X' AND RETURN.
Report ztest2
SELECTION-SCREEN:
PUSHBUTTON 2(10) but1 USER-COMMAND cli1.
PARAMETERS P2 TYPE C NO-DISPLAY. " no need to display
AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
IF SY-UCOMM = 'CLI1' OR P2 IS NOT INITIAL.
message 'Button clicked' type 'S'.
ENDIF.

Ravi.

• Passing a Spry XML Dataset to a function

I am very much a noob at this. How would I pass my XML dataset to a function so that the function would check a "date" field in the XML file and color the corresponding date cell in a YUI calendar? I have looked through the YUI Forums, but couldn't find any good examples. I am making a calendar of events that uses a calendar to filter the events in my XML file. I want the calendar to highlight the dates that have an event scheduled, so the users get a visual pointer to when events are scheduled. Here is my code:

The function "dateHighlightRenderer" is where I am running into the problem. How do I code this so that "dateHighlightRenderer" can read the "date" field in my XML file?

I have tried the getData() function for this. However, I am not sure if I am using it right:
var d = dsMDEvents.getData();
for (var i = 0; i < d.length(); i++) {
var day = d[i]["date"];
YAHOO.calendar.cal1.addRenderer(day, dateHighlightRenderer);
When I run this for loop, my calendar will not appear on the page. Any suggestions?

• Using sql function in xml sql statement

Hello,
I have following statement:
select field1, field2,....,field10 from table( cast (get_mhdata(:1,:2) as mhdata))
where mhdata is an oracle type with 10 fields.
It works good, but I don't know how can I use this statement in xml sql statement.
Please, can you tell me if it is really possible.
Thanks in regards.

Hi
You cant pass the parameters if you are executing writing this select function from the communication channel.
You have 3 options:
1) Use a stored procedure and execute from the communication channel
2) Use a stored procedure and execute via message mapping in the IR - here you can pass parameters
3) Same as above but call the query via SQL select - you can also pass parameters.

• How can I call a Jscript function from XML, which is written seperatly outside the xml file

Dear All,
I have made a SharePoint ribbon button which should display an alert message with SharePoint custom list
ID information. But it has problem for calling the Jscript methods, It may be a XML tag mistake!!! Unable to
find the error in code line!!!, can somebody please tell me this error by referring my code snippet????
It is a farm SharePoint solution I have kept the Jscript file in mapped folder named "Layouts"
It is showing the error as : JavaScript runtime error: The value of the property 'myFunction' is null or undefined, not a Function object
That means, as I understand the control is not moving or not calling the function from JScript file....why it
is so...not able to debug JScript or xml using Visual Studio that makes my effort tedious!!!
Code:
Elements.xml
<CommandUIHandlers>
<CommandUIHandler Command="ShowAlert" CommandAction="javascript:retrieveListItems()" EnabledScript="return true;"/>
</CommandUIHandlers>
<CustomAction Id="Ribbon.Library.Actions.Scripts" Location ="ScriptLink" ScriptSrc="/_layouts/RibAlert.js"/>
</Elements>
RibAlert.js

Hi,
I suggest you write an alert() in your function to check whether it can be executed first.
If alert() is ok, then it would be an issue of the code with Client Object Model, you can take a look at the link below about How to retrieve List Items Using JavaScript:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/hh185007(v=office.14).aspx
If alert() can’t be executed, then please check whether the steps of created ribbon button is correct.
The links below about how to add a custom button to the ribbon:
http://aarebrot.net/blog/2010/09/adding-a-custom-button-to-the-ribbon-using-a-feature-in-sharepoint-2010/
http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/uploadfile/anavijai/how-to-create-custom-button-in-sharepoint-2010-ribbon-user-interface/
https://pholpar.wordpress.com/tag/custom-actions/
What’s more, there seems no query succeeded handle function in your code, please take a look at the link provided above for a reference.
Thanks

• How to pass values to XML complex type of a Webservice using PL/SQL

HI,
I need to call a web service from PL/SQL that has an complex type element. That complex type element has 4 child elements each of integer type.
I want to pass values for this complex type using SOAP_API.add_parameter but I can't understand how to pass the values.
<xsd:element name="getBestFit">
<xsd:complexType>
<xsd:sequence>
<xsd:element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="1" name="circleId" type="xsd:string"/>
<xsd:element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="1" name="usage" type="Q1:UsageInfoType"/>
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
</xsd:element>
<complexType name="UsageInfoType">
<sequence>
<element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="1" name="a1" type="int"/>
<element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="1" name="a2" type="int"/>
<element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="1" name="a3" type="int"/>
<element maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="1" name="a4" type="int"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
Please help me in getting a solution here.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried doing a google search on "SOAP_API.add_parameter" to see what comes back? I see a lot of hits come back so hopefully one of those will help you. I've never used soap_api as I used utl_http to make WS calls. This required me to build the SOAP message (aka XML of a specific nature) by hand and then pass it to the WS using utl_http. How this approach is done via SOAP_API, I can't say.

• Nested functions in XML Publisher

Hello Everyone,
I am building a template in MS Word, using the Oracle XML Publisher Template Builder.
I have data from an Accounts Receivable report that is coming out at 1234,99. I would like it to come out as 1,234.99. So I would want
1) The comma as a thousands separator.
2) Instead of the comma as a decimal separator, I want the period as a decimal separator.
I can use this for the comma thousands separator:
<?format-number:VAL;'999G999D99'?>
And I can use this to replace the decimal separator from a comma to a period (thanks to the forums):
<?xdofx:replace(VAL,',','.')?>
Can I combine both of these functions together? I am not sure of the syntax.
Thanks...colin

<?format-number(xdoxslt:replace(VAL,’,’,’.’),'##,##0.00')?> for
1234,99
4444444444,55gives
1,234.99
4,444,444,444.55
