Pass parameter in URL?

Hi Guys, there used to be a forum or KB article about how to pass a url parameter from one page to another to populate a form field on the second page.  I cant seem to find this on the new forums, can anyone point me in the right directions?
Cheers
Malcolm

All you need to do is add ?youparam=value at the end of you url of the page your sending through, or append to an action on a form.
IF there is more then one parameter you separated these with & ...
/pagefile?yourparam=value&another=value2
Renders - /pagefile?yourparam=valueanother=value2
This is with page with no file extension which you can do in BC.
To fetch the value in another page you use {module_url,yourparam} so an input value would be value="{module_url,yourparam}"

  • Passing parameter through url to report

    Hi
    I'm sorry if this question already exist anywhere in forum i didnt found it.
    so my question is:
    CAN I PASS PARAMETER VIA URL TO REPORT USING WEBFORM
    i don have RAS(Because in beta version of 2008 is this not included)
    I tried
    http://localhost/CRWEB/Default.aspx?param0="value" ->here i'm prompt for value instead of showing report with set value
    and
    http://localhost/CRWEB/DocumentDoc.rpt?param0=krneki&init=html_page -> here i prompt to save rpt file
    so But both doesnt work!
    OR it is necessery to have RAS to pass parameters through url
    thanks for quick answer

    URL reporting and RAS are not available with CR2008. To view reports over the web you will need to use the Crsytal Reports for .NET runtime engine inside a .NET app. This engine is licensed with CR 2008.

  • Passing parameter in URL (forms 10g)

    Hi,
    I'm using forms 10g (904) and I need to pass in a paramter when the form starts. I have created a parameter and it works when I debug.
    But when I run it on Oracle Application Server, how do I pass the parameter in the URL? I have tried &parameter_name=parameter_value, but it does not seem to work.
    Thanks.
    WJ

    Hi everyone,
    When I tried the prior suggestion that parameter was not actually passed into the URL. Instead it is passed into the set of named parameters defined in the generated <Object> tag for the forms applet.
    That is useful to know but what I want to do is permit the forms applet to access name-value pairs in the actual forms URL.
    Does anybody know how this is done?
    Also if anybody knows how to permit the forms applet to access client side environment variables (or even registry keys) without resorting to using java I would be grateful for the advice.
    Basically it seems to there are several ways to access such values server side but I cannot find any way to access those values client side.
    The task I have in mind is to load some properties which are configured on the clients' machine and which differ from client to client.
    Thanks everybody,
    Chris

  • Passing Parameter from URL to Web Forms - Oracle 10 Application Server

    Hi All -
    I want to pass parameter from a URL to 10g Oracle Web Forms - Oracle Application Server 10.1.2
    http://server1/forms/frmservlet?config=SATWEB_SSO&otherparams=username_sso=BABUS
    How to receive this 'username_sso' value inside my forms application ?
    Created a Parameter in the same name as URL parameter 'username_sso' in forms but didn't receive the value. I want to know how to receive the value of this parameter within forms from URL.
    Thanks - Suresh

    Try this,
    1. Create a parameter in the formsweb.cfg (say username_sso) under default section ( or you can create it in your own config section)
    2. Add the username_sso in otherparams parameter as username_sso=%username_sso%
    3. Add this username_sso parameter in your form.
    4. Run the form as
    http://<machine>:<port>.....?form=blahblah....&otherparams=username_sso=scott

  • How to pass parameter through URL to bounded task flow with page fragment

    I want to pass parameter to Bounded Task Flow With Page Fragment trough URL
    as I start this taks flow with router and according to this Param I will rout the user.
    I added input param to taks flow named direction and make the task flow called URL invoke url-invoke-allowed
      <input-parameter-definition id="__41">
          <name id="__42">direction</name>
          <value>#{pageFlowScope.direction}</value>
          <class>java.lang.String</class>
        </input-parameter-definition>but I don't know how to add this to the JSPX that I will add the bounded task flow Inside.
    and How to pass this from URL

    Hi,
    url-invoke-allowed is only required if the task flow itself is directly accessible from a browser (which is not the case at all if the task flow uses page fragments). To pass input parameters to a task flow that is embedded in a region and that has input parameters, you define the input parameters on the taskFlow Id that is created in the PageDef file of the containing page. To learn ADF task flows, have a look at the videos below. They also contain a sample for passing parameters to a region

  • Passing parameter from url to procedure

    i used to pass parameters from url to procedure like
    host:port/dads/schema.procedure(para_1, para_2, ...)
    for example
    http://localhost:7777/pls/login('UK',1,0)
    they have been working perfectly before, when i had 8i and webdb.
    but now i'm running 10g, and browser returns error page 400 when i click the above links.
    i know i can do
    host:port/dads/schema.procedure?para_1=value1&para2=value2...
    for example
    http://localhost:7777/pls/login?language=UK&section=1&timezone=0
    and this is what have been suggested in documentation of 9i and 10g
    however i have quite a few webpages written in the former syntax and they used to work with 8i and 9i.
    i don't want to change all the links in web pages, i prefer to stick with old style.
    any one has any idea? is there a switch i should take care of? i checked apache conf files (httpd, mod_plsql, dads) but didn't get it.
    ps for 10g companion, i installed http server (apache) only, no html db.
    another question is
    with brackets() in url, strings are to be quoted by ' ', but with question mark (?), single quote ' ' must not be used, is that what it has to be?
    Thanks a lot

    anyone have been using this?
    http://host:port/dads/schema.procedure(para1,para2,..)

  • Hidding the passing parameter

    hi,

    and withthin the end tag , i using <netui:parameter> to pass the value to next
    page.
    is there any way to hide the passing parameter at URL.
    is there any config file i can edit and pause all the method become "POST".
    thanks for help.

    Hi Mark,
    Check the below one .You dont need to specify structure at FORM ..part as it inherits the properties from PERFORM.
    PERFORM create_alv_list TABLES t_table
                            USING alv_sku
                                  i_events.
    PERFORM create_alv_list TABLES t_table
                            USING alv_resource
                                  i_events1.
    *&      Form  create_alv_list
    *       text
    *      -->T_TABLE    text
    *      -->P_TABNAME  text
    *      -->P_EVENTS   text
    FORM create_alv_list TABLES t_table

  • Using Go URL to Pass parameter between dashboard

    Hi All,
    I am trying to pass parameter using GO URL functionality from one dashboard analysis field to another dashboard.
    The navigation is working properly but the parameter is not getting passed, I am not sure why.
    The Called dashboard has a analysis which has IS PROMPTED filter attached to it for the passing filter. I tried various ways to make this work
    Option 1
    In the calling analysis, I am using a Narrative View and inside I have used the below code.
    <a href="saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/MI/_portal/Client-MI&Page=Supplier%20Detail%20Tab&Action=Navigate&P0=1&P1=eq&P2=Dim%20Supplier.Supplier%20Name%20Current&P3=1+%22STR%20LTD%22"> @2[br/]
    This one navigate but filtering is not happening
    Option 2 (My first preference will be this option)
    Also I tried to provide custom Data Format under the column Properties
    [html]"<font class="nav" onclick=\"JavaScript:GoNav(event, '/shared/MI/_portal/Client-MI/Supplier Detail Tab','Dim Supplier','Supplier Name Current','"@"');\">"@"</font>
    This ends up giving error
    Type mismatch of catalog object /shared/MI/_portal/Client-MI/Supplier Detail Tab -- expected , got .
      Error Details
    Error Codes: UVWDR6UA
    Also, both the tabs (Called and Calling are under the same Dashboard)
    Can anyone please let me know, were I am making mistake. I tried refereeing Oracle documentation but still no result.
    Thanks

    Looks like you've got it almost right - just an extra unneeded "
    <a href="two.jsp"?ant=<%= ant %>"><%=antName%></a>
    which should render on the page as something like
    My Ant Task
    When you click the link, it should pass that parameter, and you can get it via request.getParameter().

  • How to pass date parameter in URL in system date format

    Hi All,
    I am working on a requirement where I need to pass the date parameter in URL. Where date format needs to be system default date format. How can we format date without providing specific date format.
    Also, I got some post which had below example. Can you let me know what this format does.
    '/analysis/report?queryGroupName=Custom-ProjectInfo&TimePeriodBeginning=', <%+%> FCI_CHARFMT(TIME_PERIOD_START_DATE),' <%+%>
    '&TimePeriodBeginning_format=17&link_crumb=true'
    Waiting for response.
    Thanks,
    Saloni

    Hi,
    If you're running this in SQL*Plus, you can use substitution variables.
    If you have a file called my_query.sql, like this
    select    A.agent_no,
              (a.first_name || A.agent_name)     as agent_Name,
              P.Policy_No,
              D.Driver_No,
              D.mvr_predict_score,
           D.mvr_received
    from        policy  P,
           agent   A,
           Driver  D
    where       D.request_mvr_hit   = 'M'
    AND       D.mvr_predict_Score > 540
    And       D.request_mvr          = 'D'
    AND        p.fullkey           = d.fullkey
    AND       p.agent_no          = a.agent_no
    AND       d.mvr_received     >= TO_DATE ('&1', 'DD-Mon-YYYY')          -- New
    AND       d.mvr_received     <  TO_DATE ('&2', 'DD-Mon-YYYY') + 1     -- New
    order by  a.agent_no,
                 CASE  a.producer_type
               when  'S'  then 1
               when  'C'  then 2
               when  'R'  then 3
           end
    ;Then you can run it from SQL*Plus by saying something like:
    @my_query  1-Jan-2009  31-Dec-2009&1 in the script will be replace by the 1st argument (1-Jan-2009) and &2 will be replaced by the 2nd argument (31-Dec-2009).
    Notice that the last condition adds 1 to the argument
    AND       d.mvr_received     <  TO_DATE ('&2', 'DD-Mon-YYYY') + 1     -- Newbut uses the < operator (not <=). The result is that if mvr_received is any time on the last day (e.g. 31-Dec-2009 11:59 pm) will be included.

  • Pass data parameter from URL to Forms

    Hi
    Is it possible to pass a data parameter from asp to Forms?.
    In my asp I have a url to call a form (eg. http://servername:port/forms90/f90servlet/form=testform.fmx). In my testform.fmx I accept 'account no' as a parameter for querying the records. Since I am calling this form from asp, I already have the account no in my asp. I would like to pass this account no to the form automatically.
    Is it possible to pass this data parameter from url to forms?.
    If possible, what changes to be made in the form. Please help.
    sreekumar

    Create a parameter in your form, there's a node for it in the Navigator window. Imagine it is called myParam.
    Pass it on the URL like this:
    http://host/forms90/f90servlet?config=myApp&otherParams=myParam=somevalue

  • Passing parameter values to another report using URL actions (reportserver)

    Hi guys,
    I have two reports that I link with eachother. For report A - B everything works perfect. When I try to do the same for report B - A it works, but the parameter value is not filled in.
    =Iif(
    Parameters!PAR_LinksEnabled.Value,
    Globals!ReportServerUrl & "?" & Replace(Globals!ReportServerUrl, "_vti_bin/ReportServer", "")
    & "Reporting/POS Reporting/Reports/POS Report.rdl&POS_ID=" & Parameters!CONNECTION_ID.Value & "&POS_LANG=" & Parameters!POS_LANG.Value & "&PAR_Date=%5BDate invoice%5D.%5BBonus Calendar - Week%5D.%5BBonus
    week of year%5D.%26%5B" & Left(Parameters!YEAR_WEEK.Label, 4) + "%5D%26%5B" & CInt(Right(Parameters!YEAR_WEEK.Label, 2)) & "%5D",
    Nothing
    Even tho I specify the parameter he has to pass through, the report opens with parameter period : <select a value>. Anyone has an idea why such behaviour happens?
    Thanks!

    Hi Yvanlathem,
    Per my understanding that you want to use the expression above to conditional add the hyperlink to pass the value to the parameter of anpother rreport via the URL in the SharePoint integrated mode report server, right?
    I have check the expression you have provided and the issue can be caused by the wrong way you have write the expression to pass the parameter, please check detais information below to make sure you have pass parameter in the URL correctly:
    Please modify the expression to below structure :
     =Iif( Parameters!PAR_LinksEnabled.Value="Enabled", "URL",Nothing)
    I saw you have use expression like "&POS_ID=" & Parameters!CONNECTION_ID.Value & "" which is incorrect, we need to set a report parameter within a URL, use the following syntax:
     parameter=value(not Value=Parameter)
    If you are using the following syntax like "Parameter1=Parameter2", both parameters and from different report, if you have add the "Go to URL" action from  report2 to Report1, please make sure Parameter1 is from the Report1
    and Parameter2 is from Report2, change the order will not work
    More detail information:
    Pass a Report Parameter Within a URL
    So, In your scenario, please make sure the value is from one report's field (POS_ID) and the the parameter(CONNECTION_ID) is from another report (e.g:"&CONNECTION_ID=" &Fields!POS_ID.Value &"")

  • Dynamically passing text and url-based images as an input parameter to cf8 report builder

    I'm unsuccessfully trying to dynamically pass text and url-based images to a group footer or the detail section via an input parameter or even hardcoded. The field has the attribute 'XHTML Text Formating' set to True. The following are failed samples of a simplified value:
    "<img height=’300’ alt=’Document’ width=’300’ src=’http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif’ />"
    or
    "<img src=’http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif’ />"
    This just results in the above text being output. The end result would have various text and images from a database as input by a user, thus the reason I cannot just use the hyperlink information attribute as I could if it were a single known image. I tried rtf and pdf report types. Ideas?

    HTH,
    Thanks. I'll keep that in mind, although I don't know how many images my user might need or what sizes so that might be tricky.
    Since my target output is rtf so that MS Word can be used to edit the result, I added a pagebreak to a MS Word doc and used the resulting html source to replace the rich text editor source code for the page break, but that did not help either. The page break was so a user could add an image later. Something is wrong with the Report Builder related to intepreting XHTML, especially anything that has an attribute, including URL-based image links. I hope they try to provide another update before CF9. I doubt my client will be going to CF9 for some time, since they are just completing the migration to CF8.

  • Check-in passing primaryFile as URL parameter

    Hello everyone!!
    I need to auto-complete a check-in form passing parameters in URL.
    I've successfully managed to pass every metadata I need except primaryFile specification.
    For example this URL with the following parameters:
    http://SERVER_IP_ADDRESS:16200/cs/idcplg?IdcService=CHECKIN_NEW_FORM&
    dDocAuthor=DOCUMENT_AUTHOR&
    dDocTitle=DOCUMENT_TITLE&
    xMetadata1=METADATA1&
    xMetadata2=METADATA2&
    primaryFile=C:\Documents\FILE.txt
    Everything works fine except primaryFile which is not recognized since the field is not a textedit but a file chooser.
    It's possibile to pass primary file link as a parameter??
    Thanks in advance for any reply!
    Best Regards.

    Hi deepak ;)
    Yes I'm trying to load content into UCM from an external software that produces as output a PDF document.
    When the PDF is produced I would like to make the software open a pop-up window that contains a check-in form webpage.
    The check-in form should also present metadata fields pre-compiled as metadatas are passed by the external software itself.
    I've successfully managed to accomplish all these steps passing parameters to the URL that calls the DEFAULT check-in form. (in the way stated in my first post)
    The only thing that I can't pass as a parameter is PDF file location.
    So my question was if there is a simple way of passing file URL as a parameter instead of having users manually selecting the PDF file from the file chooser.
    Anyway at this moment I've created a java adapter that successfully loads documents into UCM, so I'm trying to make a call to this java class from a jsp page that I could call as the check-in.
    Regards.

  • Import statement: pass parameter or variable in import statement ??

    Hi All..
    Is there a way to pass parameter or a variable to a url in the import statement..
    I'll be using a url in the import statement, the url will be having a dynamic .rtf file...something like
    <?import:http://#server#:#port#/xmlpserver/<mySubTemplate>.rtf?>
    where <mySubTemplate> is dynamic..
    I've been searching this thread for a while now and ended up close...
    Import sub template dynamically
    Thanks in Advance..

    Have you tried replacing the mySubtemplate.rtf part with a variable, or replace the entire URL using a variable? Try using the same construct from this example in the Report Designer's guide (page 7-14, 10.1.3.4).
    In Microsoft Word's Format Picture dialog box select the Web tab. Enter the
    following syntax in the Alternative text region to reference the image URL:
    url:{IMAGE_LOCATION}
    where IMAGE_LOCATION is an element from your XML file that holds the full
    URL to the image.
    You can also build a URL based on multiple elements at runtime. Just use the
    concat function to build the URL string. For example:
    url:{concat(SERVER,'/',IMAGE_DIR,'/',IMAGE_FILE)}
    where SERVER, IMAGE_DIR, and IMAGE_FILE are element names from your XML
    file that hold the values to construct the URL.
    This method can also be used with the OA_MEDIA reference as follows:
    url:{concat('${OA_MEDIA}','/',IMAGE_FILE)}
