Pass sessionID parameter to Emulator Shadow application

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to pass the sessionID parameter to the Emulator Shadow application? I tried this by using the overrides parameter. Unfortunately it's still not working (The application starts but nothing happens). This is what I tried:
Item[] overrides = new Item[1];
     Item sessionid = new Item("ARGUMENTS",sessionID);
     overrides[0] = sessionid;
     EmulatorSessionsView emSess = sessionObj.getEmulatorSessionsView("Launcher");
try
emSess.startSession(appName, overrides);
messageBuffer.append("Started application ");
messageBuffer.append(appName);
Any help would be appreciated!

The item name should be "shadowargs", not "ARGUMENTS".

  • Passing a parameter from a web application to the sub report.

    Hi I am currently passing a parameter from the webpage into the main crystal report.  I would like to pass this same parameter to the subreport but when I right click on the subreport from the main report I can find the parameter on the main report but there is nothing to link it to on the subreport (since this window just shows the dataset).  I also tried adding a parameter to the subreport but it does not show up in the link window on the (select data in subreport to link to).  I am using vs2005 and the crystal reports that comes with this.
    Thanks.

    There are many samples on our site that show passing parameters to both main reports and subreports. Have a search at

  • How to pass date parameter from one page to other in BSP application

    Hello gurus,
    In my BSP application i have taken an input field and made its type "date" and its value also of type date and have set showhelp .
    Now once a particular date is given as an input i want to pass its value to next page. And in next page i have to fire a query based on the date entered in previous page...
    Now my prb is that my date value is not getting passed to the next page.
    I have used
    navigation->set_parameter( name = 'BEGDA' value = BEGDA ).
    to pass date parameter.....still parameter is not getting passed.
    plz help me with this.....
    thankx.....

    Hi Eddy,
    By truncation i mean the entire date becomes 10 char including the ' . ' eg(06.12.2006).
    so with begda being 8chars it takes my date as 06.12.200
    as a result my query is not getting executed.
    now i have tried to use a FM  'CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERN_FORMAT'.
    in my 1st page but still in 2nd page its giving me following error.
    <b>The data that was read could not be written to the specified target field during a SELECT access. Either the conversion is not supported for the type of the target field, or the target field is too short to accept the value, or the data is not in the appropriateformat for the target field.

  • Passing a parameter to Web Dynpro from an external system

    Hi All,

    I have developed a simple application with an input "ServiceOrder".
    In the Portal I have created an Iview for the Web Dynpro application and have set an Application Parameter (ServiceOrder="000003000012"). Just for testing.
    In web Dynpro Controller I have created an attribute in the Context and write tje code below in the wdDoInit.
    String SO = WDProtcolAdapter.getProtoclAdapter().getRequestParameter("ServiceOrder");
    wdContext.currentContextElement.setServiceOrder(SO);
    My problem is that the String SO is empty.
    Please help.

  • Extremely URGENT! How to pass a parameter from html to form?

  • How do I pass a parameter to a portlet on the URL?

    I have a portlet on one tab that searches for parts. (This portlet is written and maintained by someone else.) When a user clicks on a part number in the result set on this portlet they need to be taken to another tab (different portlet on the same page) with that part number as a parameter. The second portlet then dynamically writes an
    <iframe src="http://someurl?partnumber=xyz" />
    to call an external application passing the part number as a URL parameter to the external application.
    Writing the <iframe /> dynamically is no problem. The problem is passing the part number from one portlet to another. We planned to do this by using hrefs in the part search portal using URLs like
    http://hostname:port/pls/portal/url/page/test1/portlet2?partnumber=xyz
    for each part number. The problem is that the URL parameter doesn't get passed to the second portlet. Here is the code in the second portlet:
    <%
    PortletRenderRequest portletRenderRequest =
    (PortletRenderRequest)request.getAttribute("oracle.portal.PortletRenderRequest");
    String partnumber = portletRenderRequest.getQualifiedParameter("partnumber");
    %>
    It always sees null for the partnumber parameter.
    I also have <passAllUrlParams>true</passAllUrlParams> in provider.xml.
    I've tried checking this by calling the URL of the second portlet directly from a browser. The portlet sees the partnumber parameter as null, but the URL window in the browser returns the modified URL from the portal with the partnumber parameter set properly. Portal is seeing the parameter but not passing it to the portlet.
    I haven't tried actually setting the in the first portlet and seeing if it all works when called from inside the portal, but I don't see why it shouldn't work by calling the second portlet URL directly with a parameter.
    Am I missing some step in order to pass a parameter from one portlet to another? The parameters I have to pass are dynamic, based on the result set returned by a search in the first portlet.

    My second to last paragraph should have been:
    "I haven't tried actually setting the hrefs in the first portlet and seeing if it all works when called from inside the portal, but I don't see why it shouldn't work by calling the second portlet URL directly with a parameter."

  • Passing parameters through URL in ADF Application with UIShell

    Hi,
    JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0
    The UI in our application is developed with UIShell pageTemplate.
    We have a Home page created with PageTemplace "UIShell.jspx" and this page is placed as a view in adfc-config.xml (the Unbounded Task Flow).
    The other pages for our application are created using Page Fragments and these pages are called from Home_taskmenu.xml through Bounded task flows.
    With this setting, the URL(after SignIn) will look like,
    http://localhost:7101/OperationalPlanning/faces/Home?_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.no-new-window-redirect=true&_afrLoop=6811862222491857&_adf.ctrl-state=29wus7giw_19
    We have a requirement to build the URL which should open a Page Fragment directly after Signing In to the application. And we have a id to be passed as a parameter, so it should open the page fragment with the details based on the id value that we pass.
    The parameters are already registered in the Bounded Task Flow(which has the page fragment) and I could open in the "localArea" using a link in the Home Page.
    Now, I want to directly launch the Bounded task flow by passing a parameter, so that it opens the Page Fragment as a tab once we signIn.
    Let me know if there is any solution for this requirement.
    If there is any document to follow for this kind of requirement in an application which is created using the UIShell, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Tamil

    hi Frank,
    Thanks for the response. We followed your suggestion and managed to capture URL parameters in afterPhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_MODEL) and save parameters to ViewScope.
    Then in beforePhase(LifeCycle.PREPARE_RENDER), we retrieve parameters back and invoke FndUIController.openMainTask method to launch the correponding taskflow but nothing happens.
    public static void openTaskflowOnNewTab(String taskflowId) {
    try {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ELContext elc = fc.getELContext();
    ExpressionFactory ef = fc.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
    ValueExpression valExp = ef.createValueExpression(elc,"#{bindings.openMainTask}",Object.class);
    JUCtrlActionBinding methodBinding = (JUCtrlActionBinding)valExp.getValue(elc);
    Map params = methodBinding.getParamsMap();
    params.put("label", "Some Title");
    params.put("taskFlowId", taskflowId);
    params.put("reuseInstance", true);
    methodBinding.invoke();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    To prove that this method works, we create a UI button on the page (which binds this method in PageDef.xml), and associate this method to onclick event. At runtime after page is opened, clicking on the button does launch the taskflow on new tab successfully.
    Do you happen to know what I do wrong in the beforePhase() method?
    Thanks

  • How to auto login and pass data (parameter) to ApEx at the same time

    Does anybody know how to automatically login to apex (e.g. from JSP page) and pass a parameter value at the same time? I can use wwv_flow_custom_auth_std to login, I can even choose a page but I cannot pass any data (at least I do not know how). If I use f?p URL syntax I can pass data but there is no way to pass login/password information.
    Any idea? Thanks Jaros

    Jaros -
    You could copy your login page and make the new page "public". On the new page, add a process before the login process that sets the value of application item FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL to the report page URL (with the arguments), e.g.,   :FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL := 'f?p=&APP_ID.:100:&SESSION.::NO::P100_X,P100_Y:&RPT_VALUE1.,&RPT_VALUE2.';Create application-level items RPT_VALUE1 and RPT_VALUE2 in the application.
    From your external page, POST to this new "login" page, passing values for the username, password, rpt_value1, and rpt_value2 items.
    Let us know if it works.

  • Passing a parameter to a method in the dataTable's value attribute

    Hi,
    I'm brand new to JSF, so I might be overlooking something really simple. I'm trying to use a dataTable to display data from a database. It works fine until I try to pass a parameter to "#{customer.all}". My backer bean is ready (or so I believe) and is included after the jsp code snippet. What do I need to do to the jsp/jsf code in order to pass this parameter?

  • Passing a Parameter to JSF / ADF

    Hi,
    I am using the MVC architecture with the model provided by ADF business components and the view/controller provided by JSF. Any help would be great since this project was due 'yesterday'. Thanks.
    I want going to pass a few parameters to a JSF (ex. test.jspz?userid=JOHN) using ADF business components for the database query (ex. select * where userid = 'JOHN').
    1) How to pass or accept parameters for JSF?
    2) How to parameterized the ADF business component to accept the parameter and run the query?
    Thanks,
    A Lucky Guy

    Shay, I'm looking at the same problem - legacy application needs to pass parameters to new ADF Faces application in the URL's query string. The problem is that it needs to use the parameter to build the page. So how do I get a method with the code that you suggested to run before rendering the page?
    I'm still in the midst of working on this, but the approach that I'm working on is based on a custom ADF Page Lifecycle as described in the ADF Developers Guide for Forms-4GL Developers section 10.5.4.3. I'm also looking at Steve Muench's not yet documented sample #60: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html#60
    Some pages don't need to use this method. If you are using the page parameters as NamedData elements in an action or methodAction, you can set the NDValue attributes to ${param.parameterName}. Make sure that you include an invokeAction in the executables section of your pageDef to make it execute the action when it renders the page.
