Pass user type to JAAS module

Hi,
I have developed a JAAS module passing username and password and uses LDAP and Database for authentication. I also need to pass user type to the back-end. Can you please suggest how to do this?
Thanks,
Matt

You can use to get the user/role information
Subject s = context.getSubject();
You can pass the Subject s as usual way.

  • Passing  User enterd Data across Modules

    Hi please suggest me some design pattern for the req.....
    Its a graphics application where user action like moseClick , mouseDragged events are captured and One Bean Class MouseData is populated.
    Now differnt totally differnt components wants to use this real time data.So how should i design so that other modules can use this data on demand but i dont want to couple different modules.
    What i am thinking on is that thier is MouseData class and if any other module wants than just req for it

    First, if you haven't read the GoF Design Patterns book I suggest picking up a copy at a library or bookstore. This is the defacto foundation for OO design.
    There are quite a few approaches you could take. Here are two:
    The first is the one you have mentioned where you pass the mouse data class to each of the mouse data clients. You can always make your MouseData class an interface. This isn't terrible way to approach this but it's not my favorite. It depends on the situation. The problem with this is that some third party class generally needs to provide the appropiate MouseData instance to each client. This is often inelegant but sometimes it's perfect. Depends on how these clients are interrelated. When want to add a new client, you'll have to again provide the MouseData instance.
    The other way I would recommend is to create a Factory class for the MouseData. The Factory class will have a method on it that provides MouseData instances. When you create a client, you call the Factory and get the MouseData instance. This way new clients have less ripple effect on the rest of the code. There are many ways to create Factory methods. One approach is the Abstract Factory approach. You could even make the MouseData class have a static factory method on it. It can't be an interface in that case, but you can make it abstract.

    Function Modules Used in Script:
    In the Driver Program we must use all or some of the function modules that are listed below to transfer the data.
    • Open_Form
    • Close_Form
    • Start_Form
    • Write_Form
    • Write_Form_Lines
    • End_Form
    • Control_Form
    • Read_Form_elements
    • Read_Form_Lines
    Any driver program must contain Open_Form, Close_Form and Write_Form. Other function modules are optional.
    OPEN_FORM: This function module opens layout set printing. One must call this function module before he uses any of other layout set function modules like Write_Form, Start_Form, Control_Form etc., You need specify a layout set name in the export parameters of this function module. If nothing is passed to Open_Form then one should use Start_Form function module to open layout set before starting the output. The layout set opened by Open_Form should be closed by Close_Form function module, other wise output doesn’t appear. We can use any number of Open_Form, Close_Form functions in one single program. But Close_Form must be there for every Open_Form in the program.
    Some of the important export parameters we have to pass to Open_Form function module.
    Form: Enter the Layout set name here, which then controls the output formatting. If nothing is specified then we must use Start_Form for opening layout set.
    Language: Layout sets are Language dependent. Enter the desired language here. If the entered layout set is not in that language, then the function tries to open the Form entered in its original language. The default value is SY-LANGU.
    Device: SAP Script can format a text on different device types. The device can be ‘PRINTER’ or ‘TELEX’, ‘TELEFAX’, ’ABAP’ and ‘SCREEN’.
    Dialog: Use parameter DIALOG to determine whether to display a dialog box before printing, in which the user can set several spool parameters for print formatting. Possible values: SPACE displays no print parameter screen. 'X' display print parameter screen. Default value: 'X'
    Options: Use parameter OPTIONS to set several options for print formatting. The parameter has the structure ITCPO. The user can change some of the defined settings on the print control screen. The default value for Options is ‘ ‘. We will discuss about ITCPO structure in detail later.
    Other Export, Import and Exceptions are self-explanatory.
    Close_Form: The function module closes the layout set opened using OPEN_FORM. The system executes any terminating processing steps for the last opened layout set. No Export parameters for this Function Module.
    Start_Form: In-between the function modules OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM, we can use different layout sets. This allows us to combine several different layout sets into one print output. However, we can combine only those layout sets that have the same page format. To switch layout sets, use the function module START_FORM. If another layout set is still open, we must close it first using END_FORM. If we specify no layout set name when calling START_FORM, the system restarts the last open layout set. If after OPEN_FORM no layout set was activated yet, the system leaves the function module with the exception UNUSED. Some of the important export parameters for this function module are
    Form: The parameter contains the name of the layout set you want to use for printing. If you specify no layout set here, the system restarts the last active layout set.
    Language: Layout sets are language-dependent. Enter the desired language here. If the layout set does not exist in this language, the system tries to call the layout set in its original language. If the parameter LANGUAGE is empty, the system uses the language of the last active layout set.
    Startpage: Usually, SAP script starts with the page specified as start page in the layout set definition. If we want to start output with another layout set page, enter the name of the desired layout set page here. If the desired page is not defined, the system uses the start page defined in the layout set.
    Program: To replace program symbols, SAP script must know which active program contains the work areas for the values to be passed. If we omit the parameter, the system searches for the field values in the program that was specified in the parameter OPTIONS (field TDPROGRAM) of OPEN_FORM. If we enter a program name, the system replaces the program symbols with the values from this program up to the next END_FORM.
    Exceptions and other Export, Import parameters are self-explanatory.
    Write_Form: The system outputs the layout set element specified in parameter ELEMENT into the currently opened layout set. In the parameter WINDOW we can specify the name of a window for the output. Remember that the layout set element must be defined in this window. The parameter FUNCTION specifies how to merge the text lines to be output with any existing contents in the window. In this case, there are differences between the different window types or areas. Some of the important export parameters used in Write_Form.
    Element: Specify the name of the text element you want to output into the layout set window specified in the parameter WINDOW. The element must be defined in that layout set window. If you specify no element, the system uses the default element, if one is defined in the layout set.
    Window: Specify the name of the window into which you want to output the layout set element specified in the parameter ELEMENT. Default value for Window is ‘MAIN’.
    Function: The parameter determines how to output the text element into the respective window. The output type depends on the window type and area:
    Window Type: MAIN Area: BODY
    SET/APPEND: Appends to previous output.
    Window Type: Main Area: Top/Bottom and
    Window Type: Other than Main and all areas
    SET : Delete the old element contents and prints the new elements
    APPEND: Appends the new content to existing elements.
    Type: The system interprets this parameter only for output to the main window. The parameter determines the area of the main window into which we want to output the element. Possible values: 'TOP' header area
    'BODY' main area
    'BOTTOM' footer area
    Default value: 'BODY'
    Write_Form_Lines: This function module outputs the text lines in table LINES into the specified layout set window. The text lines must have the SAP script ITF format. From the data in the text header, the system uses only the field TDSTYLE to apply the formatting attributes defined in the specified style for this text. If the field is empty, the system uses the identically named formatting attributes (character and paragraph formats) of the layout set.
    Use parameter WINDOW to specify into which of the windows defined in the layout set we want to output the text. We can specify any window used in the layout set. The parameter FUNCTION determines how to merge the text lines to be output with any existing contents in the window. There are differences between the different window types or areas.
    Header: This parameter contains the header of the text module we want to output in the current layout set. For the formatting process, the system uses only the entries in the header fields TDSTYLE and TDFORM. Structure: THEAD
    WINDOW: Enter the name of the window into which we want to output the layout set element specified in parameter ELEMENT. Default value: 'MAIN'
    FUNCTION: This parameter determines how to output the text element into the respective window. The output type depends on the window type and area: Window type MAIN, area BODY: 'SET' append to previous output 'APPEND' same as SET. DELETE' no effect. Window type MAIN, areas TOP and BOTTOM; all other windows: 'SET' delete old window or area contents and output the element 'APPEND' append the element to the existing elements 'DELETE' no effect Default value: 'SET'
    TYPE: The system interprets this parameter only for output to the main window. The parameter determines the area of the main window into which you want to output the element. Possible values: 'TOP' header area 'BODY' main area 'BOTTOM' footer area Default value: 'BODY'
    END_FORM: END_FORM ends the currently open layout set and executes the required termination processing. After calling this function module, no more layout set is active. For further output, we must start a new layout set using START_FORM. No Export parameters.
    CONTROL_FORM: Use this function module to pass SAP Script Control Commands to the layout set. The Control command is passed through the export parameter ‘COMMAND’ in quotes.
    READ_FORM_ELEMENTS: This function module fills a table with all text elements that appear in one layout set. If we specify no layout set name, the system includes all elements of the currently open layout set. If we specify a layout set, the system uses the information about the active version of the layout set, retrieved from the database. Here we have two export parameters, Form and Language and a table parameter Elements.
    READ_FORM_LINES: Use this function module to transfer the lines of a layout set element into an internal table. If we specify no layout set name, the system transfers the text lines of the currently open layout set. If we specify a layout set, the system uses the text lines of the active version of the layout set from the database. The Export parameters are Form, Language, Window and Element. If we pass these 4 parameters the function module returns a table with the lines from layout set.
    Function modules are one element. There are no types. However sometimes an RFC enabled function module is referred to as RFC Function module, but really it is just a function module. Also BAPIs are function modules, but are usually referred to as just BAPI as opposed to BAPI Function module.
    There is no different function module types , but calling the function module will be different.
    check this function calls syntax
    1. Calls a function module:
    CALL FUNCTION func.
    2. Call a function module in a different mode (asynchronous Remote Function Call):
    CALL FUNCTION func STARTING NEW TASK taskname.
    3. Call a function module in the update task:
    CALL FUNCTION func IN UPDATE TASK.
    4. Call a function module in a remote system (Remote Function Call, RFC ):
    CALL FUNCTION func DESTINATION dest.
    5. Asynchronous call to a function module with transactional processing (transactional Remote Function Call):
    CALL FUNCTION func IN BACKGROUND TASK.
    qRFC with output queue
    6. Call a function module that can be activated in the context of enhancements:
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION func.

    The query is on the field  VALUE3                    = '1,2,5,6' , is the format correct. If this is not right could someone please suggest the correct approach.
    thanks

    Hi Balaji,
    as that is parameter you can use at a time only one value..
    if you check in that FM we have other parameters VALUE1 to VALUE10..
    why don't you use those...
    Thanks!

  • Custom JAAS Module - How to use in certification test?

    Hello,
    I just read the document about certification for custom JAAS modules ("BC-AUTH-SAML Test Plan"). What I don't understand is how our custom login module can get the custom information it needs (like a certain request parameter).
    First, what we would like to do is to create a JAAS module which examines proprietary login tickets created by our reverse proxy / authentication server. The example code shows how to retrieve HTTP parameter and headers using the callback methods, so that part is all fine and clear to me.
    But for the certification test, the description says that in order to execute the test, the browser must be opened with a certain URL (Test 1, GET w/o password change). That action alone must lead to a valid authentication. However, in your real-world setup, the reverse proxy - sitting between the browser client and the SAP system - would insert a custom HTTP header with the login ticket. Obviously, in the test setup as dictated by the certification document, we don't have our reverse proxy, so my question basically is:
    How can I add custom HTTP headers or parameters while running the certification test?

    I'd gladly send you something by mail. Two other details first:
    - My name is actually not Remo, but Marcel Schoen. I'm just using a company account for this forum. My address is marcel.schoen<at>united-security-providers.ch
    - I'm swiss. Do you speak german? Your name sounds german. Falls ja koennen wir das auch auf Deutsch weiter besprechen.
    In short, our product is a Web Application Firewall; a reverse proxy for protecting and integrating web applications. Some of the functionality also allows to implement single-sign-on over existing legacy applications with different user bases. And now we're looking into ways to integrate SAP application servers as well (right now, the JAAS module and SAML are the two most likely approaches).

  • Unknown user type: oracle.jbo.domain.Date exception from time to time. How to solve?

    Hi,
    This is the first time I am using Coherence to cache some lists in my ADF Application. This is my objects configuration file:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE pof-config SYSTEM "pof-config.dtd">
    <pof-config>
        <user-type-list>

            <include>coherence-pof-config.xml</include>
            <!-- com.tangosol.examples package -->

                <class-name>package.dataproviders.TFDO1Services</class-name>
            </user-type>
            <user-type>

                <class-name>package.dataproviders.TFDO2Services</class-name>
            </user-type>
        </user-type-list>
        <allow-interfaces>true</allow-interfaces>
        <allow-subclasses>true</allow-subclasses>
    </pof-config>
    I have implemented the portableObject interface to each of my objects and they look like this:
        @Override
        public void readExternal(PofReader pofReader) throws IOException {
            this.tfMyList = (ArrayList<GenericRowData>) pofReader.readObject(0);
        @Override
        public void writeExternal(PofWriter pofWriter) throws IOException {
            pofWriter.writeObject(0, this.tfMyList);
    Please any help would be great!

    Hi Alejandro,
    Please note that when POF serialize collections it is somewhat lossy, in that when you deserialize the collection you may get a different collection implementation.  I.e. you're list will come out as a an implementation of java.util.List but not necessarily a java.util.ArrayList, so just cast to the List interface.  If you absolutely need a certain class impl type then you can use the readCollection method passing in the list you wish to have populated.
    thanks,
    Mark

  • Passing error message from login module to login page

    Hello,
    we have a custom login module to authenticate user in ldap and to grant application roles stored in db.
    Is it possible to pass error catched in login module to the user (display the error message on login screen)? We think it is helpful to see correct reason why the user couln't be logged in.
    Notes:
    Jdev version is 10.1.3.1. Custom login module was written using Frank Nimphius guidelines and examples.
    Rado

    Hi,
    if you followed this example then it is configured for container managed authentication, in which case the error message cannot be propagated to the view.
    There was a similar discussion on the J2EE forum and the answer was that the OC4J team will put this on a list of enahncements they track. The technical reason appears to be that the J2EE spec does not foresee to tell users about the "why" authentication fails - which clearly is a limitation of the Spec.

  • How to authenticate multiple user types in WLPortal7

    We're using WL Portal SP2, so we're running in compatibility mode.
    We'll have a number of different user types accessing our portal. Regular users
    only need present a username/password pair. Users with additional privileges will
    have an extra PIN code to supply to gain access to extra resources.
    We seem to have two approaches to develop, I was wondering which seems the best?
    1. Have 2 authentication providers for the realm, the second taking all 3 credentials
    We look at the name/password decide (how???) that a particular user needs to supply
    a third credential before calling Authenticate which uses both providers to make
    a decision. But we almost need to know aspects of the customer profile in order
    to prompt for the PIN.
    Can you call authenticate more than once if different credentials are supplied
    after login? If so how do you get the different providers to set different principals
    in the subject? And also, how do you specify the sequence in which the providers
    are called?
    2. All users authenticate the standard way with username/password. After login
    we look up a profile type and if that says so, gather and check the PIN code.
    This seems a lot simpler but we have to put in place all our own PIN checking
    outside the security framework, which seems to be at odds with JAAS etc.
    Any similar types of requirment out there ?
    Tim

    setting a higher leven node where all the needed nodes for the users meet definately works, but its exactly what I am trying to avoid, since directory is large and it has hundreds of nodes and we only need two of them , I have tried adding two openLDAP authenticators, but it then breaks both and NONE of the members are able to login anymore, I think it has to do with settings for control flags ? I have both set to SUFFICIENT? is that the reason? if I have only one openLDAP, SUFFICIENT works fine,as soon as I add one more openLDA authenticatior users do get pulled fine from both of them, but neither of them get authenticated any more;( can anyone sugges on better combination?

  • "unknown user type" exception when the object don't exist for i/p key.

    Hi
    I'm using Coherence REST service(comes with the Coherence bundle) to validate my cache data.
    When I hit the cache for a valid key, I get data returned back. But for the object that don't exist in the cache I get "Internal Server" error.
    I'm fine with "Internal Server" response show in the browser, but I don't want it to be printed as part of my coherence logs.
    For example, when I hit the REST url for key that don't exist in the cache, I get below exception in coherence logs.
    How can I get rid off it (or) suppress the exception logs.

    Hi,
    I included coherence-rest-pof-config.xml as part of my pof-config as shown below.
    <pof-config xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

  • Module status on LMS is showing as incomplete - even after the user has completed the module.

    Hi Folks,
    Hope you are all keeping well! I have a bit of a problem here. On a number of modules that were developed using presenter - and custom animation (including click next to continue) etc etc, the LMS is not showing the module status as complete - even AFTER the user had comleted the module and closed. This problem has been noticed only when the user uses the CLICK NEXT or click this part of the screen to continue.
    When the user navigates using the presenter control buttons - to navigate the training content that is, the LMS is correctly showing as the module has been completed.
    The problem I am having is that - is there any way to make presenter detect a click within a slide (user click to navigate from within a slide) and thereby register it as a valid module completion?
    Thanks in advance folks,
    Kind Regards,
    Alex.

    Hi Shubi,
    Thanks for you quick reply.

    Hi Alex,
    Which LMS server you are using?  Secondly what is the Setting in Quiz>Reporting tab is it SCORM 1.2,2004 or Aicc.
    You want status on basis of user clicks then please make sure that Report data is set to "Slide view =100%" (or whatever precentage you want) and  Report Pass/Fail set to "Complete/ Incomplete."
    Thanks,
    Shubhi
    LMS = cornerstone on demand. It has been customised to suit the company requirements, Reporting tab is SCORM 1.2
    To circumvent the issue I have changed the % view to 0% so in theory when the user launches even one slide / page - it will set it to report as status complete.
    However this is not a viable solution on content critical modules....dont you think so?
    Ideally I would like to get to the bottom of why a button within the module (which is able to navigate between pages) is not being able to report / set / increment the completion status counter.
    Thanks and Kind Regards,
    Alex.

  • Set "Contractual User Type" when creating user in AS ABAP

    Hello
    For our productive landscape we use "mySAP ESS" user-types, see "Licence Data" in SU01 or table TUTYP.
    In IdM 7.1 SP3 I have not seen any option for reading or setting these kind of values.
    Is there any way to use this parameter in IdM? How?
    Will it be implemented in future releases?
    Regards
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    The connector supports this setting:
    Just uppdate the configuration with these attributes, and valid values.
    (This sample is from a toSAP-pass)
    # UClassLicType                  %MX_LICENSEDATA_LIC_TYPE%
    # UClassSpecVers                 %MX_LICENSEDATA_SPEC_VERS%

    Hi,
    Go To Se84..
    Give Program Name .
    Display.
    In the Tree U Will Have Option Called Enhancements
    This Shows What R the Enhancements Available For That Program Or Transaction
    User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a function module. The code for the function module is written by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module, but in the include that is implemented in the function module.
    The naming standard of function modules for functionmodule exits is:
    EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
    The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as:
    CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>
    To find a Exit.
    Goto Transaction -- Find The Package
    SMOD >f4>Use the Package here to Find the Exits In the Package.
    Else if you Want to search by Application Area wise ,
    There is one more tab to find the Exits in the Respective Application Area.
    Implementing the Exit-- CMOD Create ProjectsAssgn your Component .
    Now Run ur Transaction to Check if it Triggers.
    Thats it..
    Suppose you need to find out all the user exits related to a tcode.
    1. Execute the Tcode.
    2. Open the SAP program.
    3. Get the Development Class.
    4. Execute Tcode SE84.
    5. Open the Node 'Envir. -> Exit Techniques -> 'Customer Exits -> Enhancements'
    6. Enter the Development class and execute.
    Check out this thread..
    The specified item was not found.
    1. Type the transaction : system->status-> <PROG. NAME>
    2 open SE37 , type EXIT<PROG NAME> and press F4 to get the list of function exits available.
    3. Open CMOD utilities->SAP enhancements
    EDIT->All selections
    4.type the function module name obtained in step 2, in fields 'component name' in 'additional selections' block. and execute.
    5. The displayed list contains the enhancements names for the transaction You were looking for.
    6. Create a project in CMOD and the code in default include->activate.

  • Meaning of User types & their use....

    Hi all,
    Please explain me below user types and their significance in brief:
    USR02-USTYP  Description
    A             Dialog
    B             System User (Internal RFC and Background Processing)
    C             Communication User (External RFC)
    L             Reference User
    S             Service User
    Regards,
    Sachin

    User Type
    Dialog 'A'
    A normal dialog user is used by one person only for all types of logon.
    During a dialog logon, the system checks for expired and initial passwords and provides an option to change the password.
    Multiple dialog logons are checked and logged if necessary.
    System 'B'
    Use the system user type for internal system processes (-> background processing) or system-related processes (-> ALE, workflow, TMS, CUA).
    Dialog logon (using SAP GUI) is not possible.
    A user of this type is excluded from the general settings for password validity. Only user administrators can change the password using transaction SU01 (Goto -> Change Password).
    Multiple logons are permissible.
    Communication 'C'
    Use users of type Communication for dialog-free communication between systems (-> RFC or CPIC) .
    Dialog logon (using SAP GUI) is not possible.
    The general settings for the validity period of a password apply to users of this type. Users of this type can change their passwords (like dialog users). The dialogs for changing the password must be provided by the caller (RFC/CPIC client). You can use the RFC function module USR_USER_CHANGE_PASSWORD_RFC or the RFC API function RfcOpenEx() to change the password.
    Service 'S'
    A user of the type Service is a dialog user that is available to an anonymous, larger group of users. Generally, this type of user should only be assigned very restricted authorizations.
    For example, service users are used for anonymous system access using an ITS service or a public Web service. Once an individual has been authenticated, a session that started anonymously using a service user can be continued as a personal session using a dialog user (see SUSR_INTERNET_USERSWITCH)
    During logon, the system does not check for expired and initial passwords. Only the user administrator can change the password.
    Multiple logon is allowed.
    Reference 'L'
    Like the service user, a reference user is a general user, not assigned to a particular person. You cannot log on using a reference user. The reference user is only used to assign additional authorization. Reference users are implemented to equip Internet users with identical authorizations.
    On the Roles tab, you can specify a reference user for additional rights for dialog users. Generally, the application controls the allocation of reference users. You can allocate the name of the reference user using variables. The variables should begin with "$". You assign variables to reference users in transaction SU_REFUSERVARIABLE.
    This assignment applies to all systems in a CUA landscape. If the assigned reference user does not exist in one of the CUA child systems, the assignment is ignored.
