Passing ABAP OO to task

Hi,
I want to call the Work Flow via ABAP program. One of the workflow parameter is type of class cl_pt_req_wf_attribs. I need to pass the attributes of this class to the Task. Can any one tell me the way to set the OO to the container.

Hi,
Writing an Object Reference into a Container
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled in order to write an object reference into a container:
1. The container must have been created and initialized [Seite 1137].
1. The include file <CNTN01> must have been included into the program.
These prerequisites are always fulfilled if you are in the implementation program
            The container is then addressed with the name CONTAINER. The object key must be available in a variable (designated as Object key).
Create a variable for the object reference. Use the following instruction to do this:
DATA <Object> TYPE SWC_OBJECT.
Create the object reference. Use the following instruction to do this:
SWC_CREATE_OBJECT <Object> <ObjectType> <ObjectKey>.
Write the object reference into the container using the following macro instruction:
SWC_SET_ELEMENT <Container> <ContainerElement> <Object>.
Upper and lower case are not distinguished for the container element ID. If the container is used in the binding of a workflow, you must ensure that a container element of the same name is defined in the container definition.
10. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the container is filled.
11. Make the object references of the container persistent using the following macro instruction:
SWC_CONTAINER_TO_PERSISTENT <Container>.
You need persistent object references if the container is also to be used in another
program context. This applies if you pass the container as a parameter in a function call,
for example if:
_ You want to evaluate or change the container as an event container in a check
function module or receiver type function module
_ You prepare the container as an event container and use it as a parameter of the
function modules SWE_EVENT_CREATE or SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT.
Result
The object reference created is a runtime reference that only exists in the environment of the creating
program. This object reference is written into the container in a container element. If the container
element with this ID is not yet in the container, it is inserted into the container with its value. If there is
already a container element with this ID in the container, the old value is overwritten with the new
value. If the container is needed in another program context, you must make the object references
contained persistent.
Example
An object of the type KNA1 (customer) is described as a key field via the customer number. The
customer number is under KUNNR in the table KNA1 (customer master: general section).
SAP AG
Writing an Object Reference into a Container
Type declaration for key field
Object: Customer
DATA KUNNR LIKE KNA1-KUNNR. "Customer number
A value is assigned to the field KUNNR:
Customer number
KUNNR = '0000004711'.
The variable CUSTOMER is declared as an object reference.
Type declarations for object
DATA CUSTOMER TYPE SWC_OBJECT.
An object reference is created for the object type KNA1 (customer) mentioned above.
Create object reference for object type KNA1
SWC_CREATE_OBJECT CUSTOMER 'KNA1' KUNNR.
The customer is entered into the container MY_CONTAINER in the container element Customer.
Write object reference into container
SWC_SET_ELEMENT MY_CONTAINER 'Customer' CUSTOMER.
The object references of the container are made persistent.
SWC_CONTAINER_TO_PERSISTENT MY_CONTAINER.

    Hi
    Check the links
    Workflow automates the steps and activities in a business process according to predefined procedures and rules.
    Workflow presents information and documents to the appropriate knowledge worker or agent (another entity such as a program) to make a decision or perform an activity.
    Workflow tracks each and every step in the process flow and maintains an ongoing status.
    Workflow also collects and reports all of the metrics associated with the execution and completion of the process.

  • Problem in passing parameters between flow task in a dynamic region

    Hi,
    I have a problem with the passing of parameters between task flow when it is executed within a dynamic region. To implement this, I followed the Baranovskis Andrejus Blog "JDeveloper 11g and ADF Task Flow Parameters" and everything works perfect as the task flow are not invoked from a dynamic region. But if the same task flow are converted to fragment of pages and executed in a dynamic region, the filter in the task flow that is called does not work, it does not return any records.
    Any idea that I may be missing to make this work well?.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Frank.
    My case is the first, ie in a single dynamic region, a task flow call another passing parameters to filter data to display in the second, using a task flow call activitie. As I said in the message above, everything works well as both task flow to not become unbounded task flow with fragmet page.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Passing Abap Variants as Application Parameters

    Hello.
    I have searched extensively trying to find documentation for passing ABAP variants as application parameters. For example, I am creating an R/3 iview calling the transaction IW59 (display service notifications)where I am trying to use an existing ABAP variant that has the value of BV. There are no screen fields that I can find.
    Is there a solution to this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Pete Horan

    Hi,
    We've encountered the same problem (we think). We want to open a webgui transaction in EP 5.0 with a given variant. What do we need to input in the field "additional dynpro parameters" for this to work? We've tried "VARIANT=", but this doesn't work. We've also set the parameter "process first screen automatically" to "true".
    has anyone experienced this problem before? Any help appreciated!

    Hans Petter Bjørn

  • ABAP class in task

    Hello,
    I'm using a ABAP class in a task, but when I triggers the workflow in this step its gets blocked with the status "in process".
    The abap class is public and the method that I'm calling is static, Also I have implemented the IF_WORKFLOW interface to use from the task.
    Do you have any sugestion about this to don't get block?
    Thanks

    Hello Diego,
    when using class-based tasks, most exceptions thrown during the prepare and execution steps are generally caught and not beeing forwarded into the workflow log, especially when there's a general problem with the method definition.
    In this particular case, the execution of static methods probably runs into an exception, as an instance is (accidently) required, even though -- by definition -- the method is instance-independent. For sure, class methods cannot be called as functional methods in container operations. Possibly the method was instance-bound at the time, the task was created, and later on changed to a class method. Re-Creating the task could be helpful here. Otherwise pass an instance to the task container (event though not required) and let the runtime system have it to call the class' method.
    With the very best wishes,
    Florin

  • Problem passing comments between human tasks - InputText Comment Invisible

    Hi,
    I want to pass the comments between three human tasks, i discover that it to works if i check reinitiate checkbox
    and link all human tasks with the antecedent.
    But, now i have another issue: When i create in the new button in the second human task, the inputText comment is invisible, see the image bellow:
    http://shareimage.org/images/ehmo4rrj80dbswt8fpms.png
    Why inputText comment is invisible ?
    Thanks.
    Victor

    Hi,
    I resolve partially this issue.
    Was a problem in my pageDef.xml. It works and now the inputText is visible.
    The only problem now is: when i make a CLAIM in the second human task, the filed comments is cleaned and the previous comments is losted.
    Why i have to do for comments don't disappear when i make a CLAIM ?

  • Passing Parameters to Bounded Task Flow from JSPX

    Hi All,
    1. Created a JSPX page using UIShell template.  This page contains 4 UI Components (InputComboBoxListOfValues) in SingleObjectContextArea.  Created a Managed Bean for this page and capture the selected value in ValueChangeListner and added the value to pageFlowScope.
    2. Created Unbounded Task Flow, dragged the JSPX page.
    3. Have a existing Bounded Task Flow with page fragments, it has MethodCall activity which is expecting inputParameter values from JSPX.
    4. To call the Bounded Task Flow from Unbounded Task Flow (has JSPX page) created 2nd JSPX page using UIShell template.
    5. Dragged the existing Bounded Task Flow into 2nd JSPX page, in context menu selected Region.  This Region is created in SingleObjectContextArea of UIShell.
    6. When dragged its asking about inputParameter mapping of Bound Task Flow.
    7. Configured the inputParameter value which are coming from pageFlowScope.
    8. Dragged the controlFlow from 1st JSPX to 2nd JSPX page to complete the Navigation.
    9. When running the Unbounded Task Flow, it showing 1st JSPX with LOV.
    10. Selected the values and clicked on Submit Action.
    11. Its now showing 2nd JSPX which contains Bounded Task Flow.
    12. But its displaying empty records table.  (Note: I am passing parameters to MethodCall inputParameters as pageFlowScope, My DB has displaying records based on inputParameters when tested it from OrcleSQLDeveloper)
    Could any body help me on this issue.
    My Code Snippets of Data Binding of 2nd JSPX page which has Bound Task Flow as a regionModel.:
    <taskFlow id="TaskFlow1"
                  taskFlowId="/WEB-INF/oracle/apps/TaskFlow1.xml#TaskFlow1"
                  activation="deferred"
                  xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding">
          <parameters>
            <parameter id="PartnerKeyType" value="#{pageFlowScope.PartnerKeyType}"/>
            <parameter id="PartnerKey1" value="#{pageFlowScope.PartnerKey1}"/>
            <parameter id="InteractionPartnerRole"
                       value="#{pageFlowScope.InteractionPartnerRole}"/>
            <parameter id="BusinessProcessName"
                       value="#{pageFlowScope.BusinessProcessName}"/>
          </parameters>

    Hi
    first of all Can you get the pageFlow scope variable in taskflow?which you are passing from jspx page?
    if you are able to get the Lov value in Taskflow try refresh taskflow on changing the LOV.
    you need to add input parameter type as boolean,change the parameter from false to true when the LOV value changed.
    now use refreshifNeeded property in pagedef bindings file

  • Passing state into a Task called from a continuation

    I have implemented a solution from Crafting a Task.TimeoutAfter Method and I curious about the best practice regarding passing data upwards from a Task to its continuation.
    I would like to know if the parent task released the semaphore, I could simply release it only in the continuation, is that safe enough?
    Task task = Task.Factory.StartNew(
    () =>
    try
    this.MyMethod(foo, bar);
    catch
    // Signal termination.
    taskCancellationTokenSource.Cancel();
    // Propagate up.
    throw;
    finally
    // Release handle.
    semaphore.Release();
    TaskCreationOptions.AttachedToParent)
    .TimeoutAfter(5000)
    .ContinueWith(
    antecedent =>
    // How can I pass state/indicator into this task to know if I need to do ths?
    semaphore.Release();
    if (antecedent.IsCanceled || antecedent.IsFaulted)
    throw new System.TimeoutException("A task has hung.");
    Thanks!

    Hi Ritmo2k,
    The Semaphore.Release method will release one semaphore to the pool. If the pool is already full, it'll throw SemaphoreFullException, that means you cannot call Release method until a thread has called WaitOne method. And this method will return an integer
    which indicates the count on the semaphore before Release method is called.
    If I understand you correctly,you want to know the count on the semaphorebefore you call the second Release method. I think you could create a global integer variable to store the return value from the first call of the Release method.

  • Passing attachment across user tasks

    I have a situation where one user uploads a file and completes the user tasks. Now, when the next user logs in, he should be able to see/modify the attachment as well. Please respond, if you have any clue on it.

    Hi,
    BPEL as such doesn't have document management support. But if the content of the file is ascii and the size of the file is reasonable then u can assing the value to a node in the flexstring1 in the task or in the task payload.
    The second user can view this data and he can update the same.
    If the file has binary content and a reasonalble size then u can think of using Base64.encode.
    If the file sizes are large then you need to integrate with a Document Management System.

    yeah, you don't have your usrObject available in the deffered task however all variables that you put inside the usrObject are avialble. Like <ref>accId<ref> and <ref>updStatus</ref>. If you still need them organized hierarchically, you might try to add one more level to the object before passing it to addDefferedTask
                <block>
                  <defvar name='objWrapper'>
                    <new class='com.waveset.object.GenericObject'/>
                  </defvar>
                  <defvar name='usrObject'>
                    <new class='com.waveset.object.GenericObject'/>
                  </defvar>
                  <invoke name='setAttributes'>
                    <ref>usrObject</ref>
                    <map>
                      <s>accId</s>
                      <s>yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy</s>
                      <s>updStatus</s>
                      <s>xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</s>
                    </map>
                  </invoke>
                  <invoke name='setAttributes'>
                    <ref>objWrapper</ref>
                    <map>

                      <ref>usrObject</ref>
                    </map>
                  </invoke>
                  <ref>objWrapper</ref>

    SAP_ECC_Financials u2013 This has the WAS host pointing to the java stack (xxx:50000)
    SAP_ECC_Workflow u2013 This has the WAS host pointing to the ABAP stack (xxx.80xx)
    In transaction SWFVISU all the tasks which use Java webdynpro have been configured to use the u2018Javau2019system (SAP_ECC_Financials) using the SYSTEM_ALIAS parameter
    In the UWL configuration the system SAP_ECC_Workflow has been registered
    In addition to this all u2018Javau2019 tasks have had an extra UWl config XML created to ensure that the SYSTEM_ALIAS is set to SAP_ECC_Financials
    The system SAP_ECC_Workflow has been re-registered
    The UWL cache has been cleared
    However when we try to launch the java webdynpro tasks the system is trying to access the ABAP stack (It is still trying to access the Web AS location for the system SAP_ECC_Workflow even though the system alias was specified as SAP_ECC_Financials )
    The ABAP webdynpro tasks (in this case a HCM process and form) are launched correctly
    If we try the reverse (i.e  register the Java system SAP_ECC_Financials and change the SYSTEM_ALIAS parameter for the ABAP webdynpro tasks to system SAP_ECC_Workflow)  then the reverse happens.  The java tasks can be launched and the ABAP tasks cannot.
    Does anyone have a solution to this problem.  Surely other people have implemented both ABAP and Java webdynpro workflows?
    Any help much appreciated
    Andrew

    Thanks  a lot for all your replies..
    The workitem type registration has been done already, but still it doesn't work..
    But here is the actual problem...
    There is a link 'Execute Workitem' in the inbox of the approver, or the second level manager...
    In the leave application, when we click on this link it is taking to the portal as the task is the Webdynpro Java application task. Whereas, when using ABAP webdynpro application task, it is taking to R/3 - which means that the user cannot access this link without R/3 access. The users are given only portal access, they don't have access to backend R/3.
    The requirement is that the link has to take the user to portal directly instead of R/3 - i.e it should ask only for the portal id and password.
    Since it was working fine with leave application, I changed the task to Java webdynpro task, but I think the Java Webdynpro application is not deployed in the server.
    Please can anybody suggest.
    Best Regards,
    Sushmitha

  • How to pass parameter through URL to bounded task flow with page fragment

    I want to pass parameter to Bounded Task Flow With Page Fragment trough URL
    as I start this taks flow with router and according to this Param I will rout the user.
    I added input param to taks flow named direction and make the task flow called URL invoke url-invoke-allowed
      <input-parameter-definition id="__41">
          <name id="__42">direction</name>
          <value>#{pageFlowScope.direction}</value>
          <class>java.lang.String</class>
        </input-parameter-definition>but I don't know how to add this to the JSPX that I will add the bounded task flow Inside.
    and How to pass this from URL

    Hi,
    url-invoke-allowed is only required if the task flow itself is directly accessible from a browser (which is not the case at all if the task flow uses page fragments). To pass input parameters to a task flow that is embedded in a region and that has input parameters, you define the input parameters on the taskFlow Id that is created in the PageDef file of the containing page. To learn ADF task flows, have a look at the videos below. They also contain a sample for passing parameters to a region

  • How to use a menu model with a dynamic region and a task flow parameter

    I am using JDeveloper/ADF 11.1.2.1
    I have a menu model that changes which task flow is displayed in a given dynamic region using a backing bean. That works fine. I would like to be able to pass parameters to that task flow based on which menu item is clicked. For example: i have a task flow which shows a page where input fields are used to filter a table. Depending on the value of the task flow parameter I want to change which input fields are displayed. So i will have multiple menu items which refer to the same task flow but have a different set of parameters. I have tried using request scope variables and setting them in the backing bean for the dynamic region which works until the query is submitted at which point the request scope has changed and the value is no longer available. I have tried a number of other 'creative' approaches but have not gotten anything to work. Anyone done this before? Or have an idea on how to solve it?

    Frank,
    I did a fair bit of digging based on your suggestions and some things I found in your Oracle Fusion Developer's Guide book and I came up with something that works really well. It is fairly elegant but requires code. It would be nice if something like a setPropertyListener could be rolled into the menu model. That would make my solution completely declarative.
    Here is my solution:
    My task flow requires a the value #{pageFlowScope.type} to be set. My application has a dynamic region that is changed on the fly using a menu model. The region uses a backing bean (mainRegionManagerBean) which is in the viewScope to manage what taskflow is shown in the region. There are multiple menu items in the menu model that point to the same task flow but pass different values to the #{pageFlowScope.type} parameter. So i wired the menu items up to different methods in the mainRegionManagerBean which set the value for me. See the relevant code below.
    I would be very interested in the feedback from someone with more experience than I on my solution. Maybe there is a more elegant way...
    In the backing bean there is a primary method that was created by generating a dynamic region link which sets the task flow id and then other methods which call it and set the relevant parameters. (JSFUtils is a helper class i wrote to centralize some common tasks):
    public String shipmentTraceMasterTaskflow()
    taskFlowId = "/WEB-INF/taskflow/master/shipmentTraceMasterTaskflow.xml#shipmentTraceMasterTaskflow";
    JSFUtils.setValue("pageFlowScope.type", "");
    return null;
    public String shipmentTraceProNumber()
    shipmentTraceMasterTaskflow();
    JSFUtils.setValue("pageFlowScope.type", "pronumber");
    return null;
    public String shipmentTraceBOLNumber()
    shipmentTraceMasterTaskflow();
    JSFUtils.setValue("pageFlowScope.type", "bolnumber");
    return null;
    In the menu model (notice that these reference the different methods from above):
    <itemNode id="itemNode_ProNumberTrace" label="ProNumber Trace" action="#{viewScope.mainRegionManagerBean.shipmentTraceProNumber}" focusViewId=""/>
    <itemNode id="itemNode_BOLNumberTrace" label="BOL Number Trace" action="#{viewScope.mainRegionManagerBean.shipmentTraceBOLNumber}" focusViewId=""/>
    On the page:
    <af:region value="#{bindings.dynamicRegion1.regionModel}" id="r1"/>
    In the pagedef:
    <taskFlow id="dynamicRegion1" taskFlowId="${viewScope.mainRegionManagerBean.dynamicTaskFlowId}" activation="deferred" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding" Refresh="ifNeeded">
    <parameters>
    <parameter id="type" value="#{pageFlowScope.type}"/>
    </parameters>
    </taskFlow>

  • How do I pass input values from an OTL timecard to a Fast Formula (FF)?

    Hi - I hope my question is a simple one, but after hours of searching I have a feeling it is not. I currently have a FF rule that checks if benefit hours were entered in whole or half day increments. If not, an error is shown after 'Continue' is clicked. I fully understand the setup of this rule and all I want to do is enhance it a bit. I want to verify if the Task Code and Expenditure Type code combination that is coded is correct. If they are not, I want to flag it. My issue is: I have not been able to pass the values of Task Code and Expenditure Type to the FF successfully. They are not database values and any aliases I try do not work (I assume they would be input variables passed to the FF). Any tips would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Rob

    You should read these values from the attributes pl/sql tables in your FF code. The timecard related info gets passed to the FF as context when you are creating a time entry rule FF.
