Hi All,
Is it possible to pass Business Object or Complex Type as argument to process instance through PAPI-WS?
As am getting error when am trying to pass business object in place of primitive type.. It would be great help any of you can provide example; if it is possible.
Thanks & Regards,
Ankur

Hi Alexander,
You are now able to create the Structure and set the cardinality also in NetWeaver CE.  I thin the following steps will be helpful for you.
1. Create a CAF project called firstcaf.
2.Create an entity service within the project called Customer.
3. Now expand modeled.
4. Then right click on Data Types. Here you will get the option "New Structure".
5.Now select New Structure, One popup will appear then enter the Structure name called Address and click ok.
6. Now You will get your Address structure under Complex Types.
7.Double Click on Address. In right hand side you will get the Address structure for editing.
8.Now from left hand side(Existing Type) expand caf.core and add your required attribute. In right hand side (structure Field) you can edit the name of attribute. suppose for Address structure I have added two field phone and mobile (both are short text ). save it.
9. Now switch to Composite Application Explorer and expand Business Objects ->Customer -> Customer->Customer. and double click on it (Customer).
10. In right hand side expand project firstcaf ->modeled. Now you will get your structure here, In my case I will get Address structure. Now select your structure and  click Add button. Structure will go to right hand side(Structure Fields).
11. If you want to change the cardinality it is very simple. Select The Structure from right hand side(Structure Fields) and in bottom side click on property. Now you will get the Cardinality field. you can change it as you like.

    Ok just as I expected. So I guess I am left with the following two options
    1) either I switched to using JAXB in my apps instaed of xmlbeans....
    2) or if I still wanna use the old JAX-RPC web services to deploy on the Weblogic 10gR3 server i will have to create my own ant task jwsc directly......as shown below in your docs
    Programming Web Services for WebLogic Server (ant tasks)
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs92/webserv/anttasks.html
    Getting Started With WebLogic Web Services Using JAX-RPC
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/webserv_rpc/index.html
    Will OEPE be supporting the old JAX-RPC anytime in the near future release? or have to create own build ant task to call jwsc ant task directly to compile JAX-RPC web services??

  • CE CAF Business Object, Complex Structure and external service...

    Hi,
    I want to use a web service as remote persistence in a CAF business object(Entity service). My Problem is, that the service returns a list of objects. But it seems that in the new CE the paradigm for caf changed a little and instead of complex attributes (an attribute with a structure and cardinality 0...n) you can only create an association with another business object.
    Anybody knows how to bring that together? I want to do something similar like described here:
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5e9ca25b-0e01-0010-bbaa-f3b963e89edd">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5e9ca25b-0e01-0010-bbaa-f3b963e89edd</a>
    But using the new CE the Problem is, that I couldn't manage creating a complex attribute in an Entity which can then be used as mapping for a web service.
    When I create a simple attibute and replace the type with a complex one, i can do the mapping but there is an error: "The business node has an invalid main structure"
    anybody a good idea?
    kind regards and thanks alot
    Alex

    Hi Alexander,

    1. Create a CAF project called firstcaf.
    2.Create an entity service within the project called Customer.

  • Business Objects parameters names to configure using JAVA SDK for report generation

    Post Author: christof
    CA Forum: JAVA
    Hello All, I have created a small set of reports which need to be generated from a Java application.The Crystal Reports configuration was relatively easy for the parameters as you have control over their names but is this also the case in Business Objects. For some reports I have created parameters linked to a user prompt. What would the parameters name be that I should use in the Java application.Is this then just the prompt text or should we use e.g. a number e.g parameter 1,.. Kind Regards,

    Post Author: Ted Ueda
    CA Forum: JAVA
    Hello Christof,If you're referring to the Crystal Report parameters via code, then you would refer to them by their parameter name, and not their prompt string.I note that, with BusinessObjects (now called Desktop Intelligence), prompts were referred to by their prompt string.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

  • Complex types as arguments

    Hi :O)
    I have created a web service by using Axis' java2WSDL and WSDL2Java - the program contains quite a few packages and complex objects. When I try to fill in the *SOAPBindingImpl.java I get an error, that the types are incompatible.
    The code:
    package dk.decon.dsi.ws;
    import dk.decon.dsi.facade.DataFacade;
    public class FacadeSoapBindingImpl implements dk.decon.dsi.ws.DataFacade{
    DataFacade DF = new DataFacade();
    public dk.decon.dsi.ws.DsiTO getJournal(int journalNo) throws java.rmi.RemoteException, dk.decon.dsi.ws.DaoException {
              return DF.getJournal(journalNo);
    public dk.decon.dsi.ws.DsiTO save(dk.decon.dsi.ws.DsiTO dsiTO) throws java.rmi.RemoteException, dk.decon.dsi.ws.DaoException {
    return DF.save(dsiTO);
    This is conformant to the method described in the article:
    http://www.onjava.com/lpt/a/1578
    What am I doing wrong?
    Hope somebody can help me, as I quite new to web services and axis.

  • Complex types arrays in webservices using custom codec

    In WLS8.1, I use the arrays serializing classes generated by the "servicegen" task,
    for the arrays of a complex type, and I register to the TypeMapping registry
    the complex type specifying as serializer/deserializer the custom codec that I
    developed. (The custom codec extends the AbstractCodec class)
    The problem occurs when I try to execute a service that has like return type an
    array of my complex type. In fact the response envelope is incorrectly built,
    containing before the tag result(that includes at his turn, the serialized array)
    once again the array serialized.
    So at the parsing time of the envelope, the following error occurs:

    I opened a case to bea support, (case 426018 ) but I didn't obtain the solution

    If you can access the case at the support.bea.com site, it contains a simple

  • How can we use business object (e.g. crystal report ) in webdynpro abap

    Hi All,
    We all know that business object has been part of sap products.
    But even though in SAP, I really don't know much about business object.
    and how can we use the great function of BO and integrate into our development to make
    user have much better function and user experience.
    Do we have some learning material of BO?
    Could someone share some material here?
    Thanks and Regards
    Aaron.

    One of the main ways that you can integrate some Business Objects content with WDA is via FlashIslands.  If you are on 7.01 or higher, you have the option to use FlashIslands UI element.  There are many tutorials on FlashIslands available on SDN. FlashIslands work well with Xcelsius content, since the output of Xcelsius is a Flex component.  It is pretty easy to set the Xcelsius interface to External Connection and then write a wrapper Flex Component around the generated output, so that it can be used in the FlashIslands interface.
    For Crystal Reports integration you will need NetWeaver 7.02 (comming early next year).  We have integrated Crystal Reports as an output option in the Web Dynpro ABAP ALV and the Classic Dynpro ALV.  You don't need to do any development to enable this.  You can use two different SAP delivered Crystal Reports templates for the ALV output, or create and add your own templates.
    Some of ther BOBJ integration is still in prototype and demo phase within SAP.  For instance we have a data interface to send data to Explorer onDemand from any ABAP application. We have a prototype FlashIsland for WebI to run in place within Web Dynpro ABAP.  Over future enhancement packages you will see increased integration opportunties with the BOBJ capabilites.

  • Business Object - BDoc Supported Bo

    Hello CRM Gurus,
    This question is related to BOL Object layer.
    When we create the Business Object of type BDoc Supported,
    1.Why is the Write BDoc section of the Business Object becomes disabled with the BDoc name specified in the textbox?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Cheers,
    Vignesh Ravikumar.

    hello Vignesh
    There will be three kinds of Business Objects in BOL Layer.
    1. BDOC Supported Business Objects : When BOL creates a new BO, BOL FWwill use the Read BDOC.And you can not do save for these BOs. Read Only. may be all child BOs can be modelled as BDOC supported.
    2. New BDOC Supported Business Objects : These BOs will have Raad BDOC and Write BDOC, so you can read and write. when you save on a Business Object, BOL FW will use the write bdoc.
    This will be used at most for all the root Business Objects and independent Business Objects to enable save at run time.
    3. BDOC Not supported : as you aware, Unbound Business objects. can be used as helper BOs.
    Regards
    Shankar

  • Integration with Business Objects

    How does XCelsius 2008 integrate with Business Objects XI R3?
    We used WeBI to generate reports. Will XCelsius be a part of WeBI or will it have a separate interface?
    Will a separate Server be required?
    Regards,
    Karthik Mohan

    Karthik,
    You usually use Webi to display very details reports.
    Xcelsius is used for a more aggregated view of the data.
    Most often users will create their visualizations in Xcelsius (charts, maps etc.) and then use a URL button that passes parameters from their Xcelsius model (driven by the users selection) to open a more detailed report in Webi.
    Hope this helps!

  • Getting status as ERROR while instantiating Business Object in work flow?

    Hi,
    Getting status as ERROR while instantiating Business Object in work flow.
    How to rectify it.
    Tahnks in Advance.
    Moderator message: please have a look at the dedicated Workflow forum on SCN.
    Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Jan 19, 2012

    Hi,
    Go to SWDD and create a new workflow. This workflow will have two steps. This is just for test purpose so we are not going to define any triggering event etc.  First step will instantiate (creating a runtime object) a business object and second step will use that runtime object to execute one of its method. We know that to instantiate any BO we need the object key to be passed. Key uniquely identifies a runtime instance of Business Object (henceforth we will refer it as BO or business object interchangeably).
    use Business Object SYSTEM and method GENERICINSTANTIATE to instantiate any Business Object in workflow

  • Install Business Objects XI R2 on Windows Server 2008

    Hi,
    I want to install Business Objects on Windows Server 2008 using IIS7 however i cannot select the IIS ASP.Net option when I get to the "Choose Web Component Adapter Type" screen.

    Ok,
    After not having much like with installing on IIS7.0 i opted to do an install with the TomCat Server.
    This was also not successful, It seems that TomCat relies on a service called NTLMSSP
    this has been removed in both Vista and Server 2008.. (I guess this is why ive been having so many issues!)...
    After doing some reading on the above mentioned service it is quite possible that IIS 7 could also be using it.
    Thanks for all your responses, but i guess this is a definate thing now (just in case some one else comes looking for this information)
