Passing multiple ID's in URL variable

How can I show results from a mysql database from selected ID's using URL variables?
Showing results from one ID works fine:
mypage.php?id=1
But,
My table has 10 rows and I want to show 3 of those rows:
mypage.php?id=1&id=3&id=4
Thanks for a point in the right direction.

Are any of you original participants in this thread still around? I'm a bit of a "Jack of all trades, master of none" and I'm having a hell of time. I'm pretty sure this post relates to what I'm trying to do, but I'm just starting in dynamic site building with PHP and I can't seem to translate this situation into my situation.
What I'm trying to do is set up a series of menu items for categories of merchandise (rugs), with subcategories for size. I've succeeded in making links where the user can choose ALL sizes within a category and (separately) I've succeeded in making links where the user can choose a size within a specific category, but I'm not able to create links where the user can choose a specific size OR see all sizes out of a single menu.
Here's what I've got:
3 tables: products, categories & size
The size table has 2 columns - sizeName, and SizeID - the sizeID column is an integer and it links to products table.
The categories table also has 2 columns - categoryName and categoryID - the categoryID column is also an integer which links with the product table
I also built a menu with categories, and each category has a drop down menu where the viewer can choose a size.
Each size link has a parameter which includes the categoryID as well (in following example, all the sizes are within one category):
small - products.php?categoryID=8&sizeID=1
medium - products.php?categoryID=8&sizeID=2
large - products.php?categoryID=8&sizeID=3
On the receiving page (products.php) I created a recordset which looks like this (I'm looking at the recordset dialog box within Dreamweaver CS4):
SELECT price, `description`, categoryID, largeImage, smallImage, sizeID
FROM products
WHERE categoryID = colname AND sizeID = varSize
ORDER BY price ASC
the variables look like this:
Name: colname
type: Integer
default value: -1
Runtime value: $_GET['categoryID'}
Name: varSize
Type: Integer
Default value: 1
Runtime value: $_GET['sizeID']
(Dreamweaver created colname and I created varSize. I'm not really sure why the default values are as they are).
This works, but it doesn't give the "all sizes" option. So I've tried applying what I saw in the thread, by creating this link instead:
products.php?categoryID=8&sizeID=1&sizeID=2&sizeID=3
In the recordset I created the new variables like this (all as integers with 1 as default value):
varSmall = $_GET['sizeID_1']
varMedium = $_GET['sizeID_2']
varLarge = $_GET['sizeID_3']
And I wrote this code:
SELECT price, `description`, categoryID, largeImage, smallImage, sizeID
FROM products
WHERE categoryID = colname AND sizeID = varSize
OR
WHERE categoryID = colname AND sizeID = varSmall AND sizeID = varMedium AND sizeID = varLarge
But within the recordset dialog box, I hit the test button and I got a message about a syntax error.
Am I anywhere near the solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

  • How can i pass multiple values by a single variable to EXECUTE IMMEDIATE

    Hi All,
    I want to pass multiple values for where condition for execute immediate. Something Like this:-
    bold
    Declare
    v_cond varchar(1000);
    Begin
    v_cond := '''INR','USD'''; --(OPTION 1)
    v_cond := 'INR,USD'; --(OPTION 2)
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'Delete from table where colm in (:v_cond)' using v_cond;
    END;
    bold
    I am using this into a procedure
    Now option 1 gives an error ie a syntax error (; expected or something like that)(I am sorry, i can't tell the exact error here as i am not in the office right now)
    and option 2 makes the procedure execute but obviously doesn't delete the records, as it takes the whole as one.
    Please Help

  • Pass multiple query strings to url using HTTPWebRequest

    I'm trying to read data from API (in Json format) and load it into SQL server using script task in SSIS.
    Dim Request1 As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = DirectCast(System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create(URL), System.Net.HttpWebRequest)
            Dim Object1 As [Object]
            Dim Response1 As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = Nothing
            Dim reader1 As System.IO.StreamReader
            Dim myResponseString As String
            Request1.Headers.Add("Authorization: Token *****")
            Try
                Response1 = DirectCast(Request1.GetResponse(), System.Net.HttpWebResponse)
                reader 1= New System.IO.StreamReader(Response1.GetResponseStream())
                myResponseString = reader.ReadToEnd()
    I'm able to do this with the URL. However, the requirement now is to pass different query strings to the URL and load the data into SQL.
    Could someone please provide the code sample to achieve this.
    Thanks

    If we sent you a code you must try and tell that it doesn't work or that's not what I want, this is better than repeating the same question again and again. Here you go another snippet for httpwebrequest with querstrings and tested:
    Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Try
    Dim request As HttpWebRequest = DirectCast(HttpWebRequest.Create(New Uri("http://www.google.com?querstring1=1&querystring2=2")), HttpWebRequest)
    request.BeginGetResponse(New AsyncCallback(AddressOf ReadCallback), request)
    Catch ex As WebException
     End Try
    End Sub
    Private Sub ReadCallback(asynchronousResult As IAsyncResult)
    Dim request As HttpWebRequest = DirectCast(asynchronousResult.AsyncState, HttpWebRequest)
    Dim response As HttpWebResponse = DirectCast(request.EndGetResponse(asynchronousResult), HttpWebResponse)
    Using streamReader1 As New StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream())
    Dim resultString As String = streamReader1.ReadToEnd()

  • How do I pass value to 'getURL' url variable

    Howdy,
    I`m trying to launch a popup from a flash form using MX 7
    The popup works fine but I cant for the life of me work out how to pass 'theid' value to the url variable for the popup window.
    I think somthing like this can be done with action script and maybe a cfc but I really dont know how.
    You will notice I referenced 'theid' value directly, I know this will never work but just wanted to show what i was trying to acheive. If I were using a HTML form I could use some javascrip to get the element by id and append the value to the url. Is there away to do this in action script?
    <cfform format = "flash">
    <cfsavecontent variable="ticketpopup">
        getURL("javascript:window.open('supportdetails.cfm?id=#theid#' , 'TicketDetails', 'width=900,height=630, Scrollbars=1, resizable=0'); void(0);");  </cfsavecontent>
    <cfselect name="selectbox" query="thequery" value="id" display="whatever"></select>
    <cfinput type="hidden" name="theid" bind="{selectbox.selectItem.data}">
    <cfinput type="button" name="mybutton" value="whatever" onClick="#ticketpopup#>
    </cfform>
    Any help, much appreciated :-)
    Thanks

    I answered my own question, heres is a solution if anyone is interested..
    You can add the following actionscript to the onChange attribute of the select box. Its passes the value of the selected index to the URL and opens in a new window :-)
    No there is no need for a hidden field or a button either
    <cfform format ="flash">
    <cfselect name="name" query="thequery" value="thevalue" display="whatever">
    onChange="getUrl('supportdetails.cfm?ticketnumber=' + categorysubject.dataProvider[categorysubject.selectedIndex]['data'],'_blank');
    </cfselect>
    </cfform>

  • Dynamic list to generate url variable

  • Can you pass an array URL variable

    Hi,
    Doing a form which I want to validate, then re-display with
    error messages and the keyed data still in place should there be
    errors, or go onto a second form if all ok.
    I have tried to use <form
    action="<?=$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']?>" but as the various
    outcomes result in different screens I can't see how to do it
    without having reams of duplicate code - I couldn't make it work
    satisfactorily anyway.
    So I decided to do it in two stages - form (user screen) + a
    separate validation routine which passes validation results back if
    there are errors by calling the first screen but with URL variables
    to trigger process variations or go onto screen 2 if all ok.
    But I'm struggling with this .. two questions:
    i) Ideally I would like to use a session variable to pass
    actual error messages back to screen one in the event of errors but
    if I undertand things correctly (which is by no means certain)
    $S_Session is already an associatve array so it wouldn't be so easy
    to just add a variable number of messages to it and then know what
    you are unpacking elsewhere ... do you know what I mean?
    Perhaps if I give you my second question it may help
    illustrate what I'm going on about in part 1
    ii) The way I have tried to do it is to set it up as an array
    ($ERRORS) in the validation module and then added a text string
    each time I hit a specific error. The hope was that I could then
    send this back via the URL for further process but I'm getting
    syntax problem so maybe this is not possible .... a brief example
    Input Form php:
    $ERRORS = array();
    $ERRORS = $_GET['errors']
    if (sizeof($ERRORS) > 0) {
    echo "<p class=\"val_err_hdr\"> *** Validation
    error(s) - please correct the entries and try again ***
    </p>";
    blah blah
    Validation php:
    $ERRORS=array();
    if(!$loginFoundUser) {
    $ERRORS[] = "This e-mail address entered has already been
    registered on our database - if you have already registered you
    can"; }
    header("Location: input.form.php?errors=$ERRORS");
    When I run this I get a syntax error 'unexpected T_IF' on the
    'sizeof'' function condition.
    Any help much appreciated.

    OK, quite common.

    Avoid short open tags, they are unreliable. Use "<?php
    print " instead
    of just "<?=" to be safe and independent from the server
    configuration.

    What's a "screen" in this case? Just another part of the form
    or a
    completely different page?

    Don't use URL parameters in such a form processing scenario.
    Use a
    session instead, that's what they are for. The length of URLs
    is limited
    and there are things you simply don't want to pass between
    pages, but
    keep on the server instead.

    The $_SESSION array itself is strictly associative, the used
    indexes
    must be strings or the serialization of the session data will
    fail.
    But if course you can always do things like this:
    $_SESSION['errors'] = array();
    $_SESSION['errors'][] = 'something went wrong';
    > Perhaps if I give you my second question it may help
    illustrate what I'm going

    As said above - use the session instead.
    > Input Form php:
    > $ERRORS = array();
    > $ERRORS = $_GET['errors']
    There's a ';' missing at the EOL (this causes the error you
    mentioned
    below).
    Just a naming hint: Variables should not be named all
    uppercase (except
    for the predefined superglobal arrays). Such names should be
    reserved
    for constants. The most common style looks like this:
    myNiceFunction()
    $myNiceVariable
    MY_NICE_CONSTANT
    > if (sizeof($ERRORS) > 0) {
    if (!empty($_SESSION['errors'])) {
    > header("Location: input.form.php?errors=$ERRORS");
    The Location URI must be absolute including scheme and
    hostname. This is
    required by the HTTP spec:
    header("Location:
    http://$_SERVER[HTTP_HOST
    But I'm still not sure why you would need this redirect. The
    entire
    handling of a form (validation, processing) can be done on a
    single
    page. Only if the processing succeeds, you might want to
    redirect to
    some result page.

  • How to passing multiple values for a parameter of discoverer(url parameters

    Hi All,
    I am trying to pass multiple values for a parameter of disco report. I am trying to include my url for discoverer viewer report. the values has the following
    'jeff,mark'
    'sfophiee,angela'
    Thanks and Regards
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat,
    I know there are some problems with 10.1.2.0.2, maybe if you haven't done yet you can try with 10.1.2.2, assuming this version should be working for multiple parameter values :
    OracleAS Discoverer 10.1.2.2 is installed with the following patch :
    Patch 4960210 PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10G R2 PATCH SET 2 10.1.2.2
    So, once installed you can try adding your parameter as param_<parameter_name>='sfophiee,angela'
    Hope this helps, otherwise feel free to log a Service Request to Support.
    Best Regards,

  • How to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part

    Hi,
    I want to pass multiple query string values using the same parameter in Query String (URL) Filter Web Part like mentioned below:

    Hi DH, sorry for not being clear.
    It works when I create the connection from that web part that you want to be connected with the Query String Filter Web part. So let's say you created a web part page. Then you could connect a parameterized Excel Workbook to an Excel Web Access Web Part
    (or a Performance Point Dashboard etc.) and you insert it into your page and add
    a Query String Filter Web Part . Then you can connect them by editing the Query String Filter Web Part but also by editing the Excel Web Access Web Part. And only when I created from the latter it worked
    with multiple values for one parameter. If you have any more questions let me know. See you, Ingo

  • Oracle BI Publisher - Passing multiple wildcard search to a bind variable

    Hi,
    Please help me in resolving the below mentioned issue:
    I have developed a report in oracle BI Publisher with a SQL query.
    While scheduling the report to run I used to pass mutilple parameters like CGAMSVC08,RLCSVC51
    If the pass the parameter with wildcard search like C% it works.
    When I pass two or more parameter values with wildcard search like C%,R% its not working.
    Could you please let me know how should I give the bind variable in the SQL query. Currently I'm paramater like the one shown below for passing multiple paramaters:
    Where (',' || :PRMRETRID || ',' like '%,'||RL.RETROFIT_ID|| ',%')
    Edited by: user1101445 on May 23, 2012 2:02 AM

    HI Tyler.
    Well, here's the latest.
    I found this little gem in the BIEE 10.1.3.3.3 Release Notes Documentation...
    This issue applies to Versions 10.1.3.3, 10.1.3.3.1, 10.1.3.3.2, and 10.1.3.3.3.
    Reports that use the BI Publisher data template as the data model may fail with the
    following error: "Data not defined."
    This error will occur if you defined a parameter in your data template but you do not
    pass a value to it via the user interface. If you do not specify this parameter in the "Parameters" section of the report definition that you created using the BI Publisher Edit Report interface, then you will receive the error.
    To work around this issue, either define the parameter in the Edit Report interface or remove the parameter from the data template.
    That bit is now working.
    Having set this up and using your guide it works if my SOAP parameters declaration passes a single value like this...
    <parameterNameValues>
    <item>
    <name>P_INVOICE_ID</name>
    <multiValuesAllowed>true</multiValuesAllowed>
    <values>
    <item>16641</item>
    </values>
    </item>
    </parameterNameValues>
    But if I try and pass two or more like this...
    <parameterNameValues>
    <item>
    <name>P_INVOICE_ID</name>
    <multiValuesAllowed>true</multiValuesAllowed>
    <values>
    <item>16641,18421</item>
    </values>
    </item>
    </parameterNameValues>
    BIP states "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01722: invalid number"
    My SQL where clause is..
    <sqlStatement name="Q1">
    <![CDATA[select * from vw_invoice_summary
                   where invoice_summary_id IN (:P_INVOICE_ID)]]>
    </sqlStatement>
    And the BIP error records the parameter value as P_INVOICE_ID 16641,18421 (which are legit invoice IDs)
    In summary, works if I pass one invoice ID, fails if I pass two or more.
    Any ideas? Or do you reckon this is now a post for the BIP forum?
    Kind regards.

  • Pass WebI dimension multiple values to OpenDocument URL lsM parameter

    Hi
    Has anyone managed to pass multiple values of WebI dimension object to OpenDocument URL lsM parameter?
    My WebI document has 3 objects: Country  \[Country\] and Customer \[Customer\] dimensions and Sales Amount measure. WebI report includes a table with 2 columns: Country \[Country\] and Sales Amount. I have built a hyperlink in the Country cells with an OpenDocument URL with lsS parameter = \[Country\] and lsM parameter which should get all context Customers for selected Country as a string (IsM=u201D\[Customer1 Name\], \[Customer2 Name\], \[Customer3 Name\]u201D) .
    Using IsM=\[Customer\] forces table to break down by customer which does not help.
    I imagine that the solution would be a function similar to count(\[Customer\]) which accepts a dimension as an input parameter and returns a string with concatenated Customer Names.
    I have considered WebI extension points (custom functions) option but according to the documentation they do not accept u201Cobjectu201D type as an input parameter.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

  • Passing URL variable on login redirect

    I first want to say thank you for all the great help I have received on these forums over the past couple months - it has been very helpful and saved me countless days.
    Saying that, I do have another problem. I would like to pass a URL variable to the success redirect page when users login. I want to have a recordset on the login page that retrieves an issueid for the most current article and then passes it on the URL to the page that is loaded when a user successfully logins. I have tried adding the recordset to the login page and then changing the URL for the successful redirect on the tNG_config.inc.php file to:
    $tNG_login_config_redirect_success["5"] = 'dashboard_issue.php?issueid=' . $currentIssueId . '';
    but it isn't working. I have a tried as many variations of that syntax as I could think of or find searching online but still no luck. There might be a much easier way to do this but the way the dashboard_issue page is set up is that it is looking for the issueid in the url. The benefit being that the same page can be used for any issue that the user wants to change to once he is logged in.
    I hope this is making some sense. If not please let me know.
    Thanks!
    -Dan

    The most current issue is actually just the one that is closest to today's date in the future. Users are free to add as many issues as they want in the past and future so I really can't go by issueid to sort since it might come in any order. Right now I have the most current issue found with this query:
    SELECT issueid, DATE_FORMAT(date, '%W, %M %d, %Y') 'date' FROM issues WHERE date >= CURDATE() LIMIT 0,1
    I will try to explain the problem a little more. This works great for what I need to do for this page as soon as they log in since it doesn't even look at the URL at all. If a user wants to go to a different issue I display a different page (which is this page just renamed) where the recordset looks at the URL issueid variable instead of the most recent issue recordset. The problem with this setup is that it is hard to maintain 2 pages all the time and would be great if I can just have one page to handle everything.
    Is it possible to do something like this?:
    IF issueid url variable EXISTS THEN use recordset1
    IF issueid url variable DOES NOT EXISTS use recordset2
    with recordset1 being the one that grabs the most current issue and recordset2 being the one that pulls the issue information based on the url issueid.

  • Passing url variable - what am I doing wrong?

    I've made a form and am attaching the code.
    Basically I am trying to get a list of offices and select one
    (which I am able to do when I publish and run the webpage/form).
    However, it always passes the value of "1" (the first record)
    to the next page (no matter what office I select from the drop down
    menu). I've tried the other choices under the lightning bolt, but

    Help!

    Why are you passing OfficeID as an URL variable in the form
    action when it is already a FORM variable (the SELECT form field)?
    The selected OfficeID will be passed to test2.cfm in the FORM
    scope.
    Also, you have named the submit button OfficeID, too. Form
    field names need to be unique, except possibly radio buttons and
    checkboxes.

    Hi..
    For this create a variable- Types of variable= Characteristics Value> Processing type as Customer Exit-->Reference Char as Fiscal year..
    Try this code..
        when 'xxxx'.
          DATA: lv_zp0003_month(2) TYPE n,
                  lv_zp0003_year(4) TYPE n.
          CLEAR: lv_zp0003_month, lv_zp0003_year.
          lv_zp0003_month = sy-datum+4(2).
          lv_zp0003_year = sy-datum(4).
    If the month is January the year is set to previous year
          IF lv_zp0003_month = '01'.
            lv_zp0003_year = lv_zp0003_year - 1.
           l_s_range-low = lv_zp0003_year.
    Else the year is set to actual
          ELSE.
            l_s_range-low = lv_zp0003_year.
          ENDIF.
          IF l_s_range-low = l_s_range-high.
            l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
          ELSEIF l_s_range-high IS INITIAL.
            l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
          ELSEIF l_s_range-low LT l_s_range-high.
            l_s_range-opt = 'BT'.
          ENDIF.
          l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
          APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.
