Passing parameters to event triggered functions
hi all,
i have created a button and added EventListener.
as mybutton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,clickSt art);
when i implement the clickStart (event:MouseEvent) function i
want to pass
an array ,a String to this function as parameters .how can i
do this.
is it possible or not.
thanx.
Well, not in that way.
The function automatically receives a parameter when you
create a callback with that function by "addEventListener", such
parameter is datatyped as the event type you defined in the
callback, in your case "MouseEvent". If you want to pass more data
when the function is called then you have to create your own event
class because almost all events just inform when something has
happened and send limited information. You can check the
documentation about creating a custom event class, there is a lot
of info about the topic.

I'd change it to this:
private function myClickListener(e:Event):void{
//I don't see where you're using the ID, but to get it,
//use this code:
var myID = e.currentTarget.data;
myService.getcounties.send() // I need to send catid here to
the
webservice
public function handleStringResult(event:ResultEvent):void{
catInfo = event.result as ArrayCollection;
for each(var o:Object in catInfo){
var b:Button = new Button();
b.label = o.FILLCOLOR;
//note that you couldn't have used your ID
//as a "handle" to anything, so I replaced
//that logic with something you _could_ use
b.data=o.CATID;
b.setStyle("fillColors",['#'+o.FILLCOLOR,'#'+o.FILLCOLOR]);
b.setStyle("color","#FFFFFF");
b.setStyle("fontFamily","Arial");
b.setStyle("fontSize",8);
b.setStyle("textRollOverColor", "red");
b.addEventListener("click", myClickListener);
myvbox.addChild(b);
You could also use a Repeater and set this up in MXML.

Passing parameters (range) to ABAP function from Crystal report
Hello experts,
Iu2019ve created an ABAP function which receives parameters from a Crystal report . It works very well with simple parameters.
In my crystal report I can see the fields with the prefix u201CI_u201D in the field explorer, and I can use this fields in my Function Modules perfectly.
The problem is to pass parameters like range or multiples values.
I would like to know how to put this parameters into the low and high values of the range and receive them in my Function Module in the ABAP layer.
Thanks in Advance,

Passing Parameters in an EventListener Function
Hey,
I have this function:
public function GetOptions(Menu:int):void{
document.MenuOptions.url = "
http://localhost/Flex/Personalised%20Palettes-debug/MenuOptions.php?Menu=";
document.MenuOptions.url += Menu;
document.MenuOptions.send();
What I'm trying to do is when a user click on a Radio button
this function is called and the number of the Menu required is sent
to the function.
I've added this Event Listener to my Radio Button:
document.RadioButtons2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,
function():void{GetOptions(2);});
However, it's not working. Everything I've read suggests
using an anonymous function in the Event Listener but for some
reason it's not working.
Any ideas?Katy I recommend you to change your event listener function
to be someting like this:
public function focusInListener (e:FocusEvent):void {
// Displays: Target of this event dispatch: [object
TextField]
trace("Target of this event dispatch: " + e.target);
// Set the text field's background to red. Notice that, for
added type
// safety, we cast Event.target to TextField-—the
actual datatype of
// the target object.
TextField(e.target).backgroundColor = 0xFF0000;
Remember that along the event that is sent when the event is
dispatch there is a variable target that provides a reference to
the object tha dispatch the event. you have to cast it to the
display object it's like in the previous snipet of code it cast the
e.target as a Textfield por security reasons.
The you just add the
GetOptions(int(TextField(e.target).text)) to make the call with the
selected index you want. -
How do you pass parameters to a Pipelined function?
I am using Oracle 10G and the ODP .NET 32 bit client.
I am facing an issue trying to use variable binding with a pipeline function in Oracle. I am using ODP .NET for connecting to the database.
If you want to be familiar with PIPELINED functions, you can read [this blog.|http://oradim.blogspot.com/2007/10/odpnet-tip-using-pipelined-functions.html]
I have very similar code with a difference. My function takes in two parameters that I need to pass to get the table. This is working in SQLPLUS without any issues.
In my C# code, however things change. My function no longer returns a recordset (data reader), if I use the standard method of assigning the parameters.
The code will work if I concat the variables in a string.
Here is the example that doesn't work.
static OracleDataReader fetchData(OracleConnection oc, string strPONumber)
try
OracleCommand od = oc.CreateCommand();
od.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text;
od.CommandText = "select * from table(pkg_fetchPOInfo.getPORowsTable(:1,:2))";
OracleParameter op1 = new OracleParameter();
op1.ParameterName = "1";
op1.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Varchar2;
op1.Direction = System.Data.ParameterDirection.Input;
op1.Size = 7;
op1.Value = strPONumber;
od.Parameters.Add(op1);
OracleParameter op2 = new OracleParameter();
op2.ParameterName = "2";
op2.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Varchar2;
op2.Direction = System.Data.ParameterDirection.Input;
op2.Size = 3;
op2.Value = "US";
od.Parameters.Add(op2);
OracleDataReader or = od.ExecuteReader();
return or;
catch (Exception e)
Console.WriteLine("Error " + e.ToString());
return null;
}Here is the example that does.
static OracleDataReader fetchData(OracleConnection oc, string strPONumber)
try
OracleCommand od = oc.CreateCommand();
string formSQL = "Select * from table(pkg_fetchPOInfo.getPORowsTable('"+strPONumber+"','US'))";
od.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text;
od.CommandText = formSQL;
OracleDataReader or = od.ExecuteReader();
return or;
catch (Exception e)
Console.WriteLine("Error " + e.ToString());
return null;
}throw it into an anonymous block and it should work for you.

Passing parameters to table valued functions and using parameters as column name on select
I am creating a function where I want to pass it parameters and then use those parameters in a select statement. When I do that it selects the variable name as a literal not a column. How do I switch that context.
Query:
ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2]
@BANNER_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX),
@ORION_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX)
RETURNS @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison TABLE
LAST_NAME nvarchar(max),
EMPNO int,
BannerColumnName nvarchar(max),
BANNER nvarchar(max),
ORION nvarchar(max)
AS
BEGIN
INSERT INTO @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison
(LAST_NAME, BANNER, ORION)
SELECT
a.LAST_NAME, @BANNER_COLUMN, @ORION_COLUMN
FROM OPENQUERY(ORCLPROD_APDORACLE, 'select LAST_NAME, BANNER_RANK, BADGE, EMP_STATUS from XTRACT_VIEW') AS a
inner join IWM_Stage.dbo.ViewPersonnel AS b
on a.BADGE = b.badge
WHERE a.EMP_STATUS = 'A'
and a.BANNER_RANK <> b.[rank]
RETURN;
END;
GO
Output
I execute this:
select * from ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2 ('a.BANNER_RANK' , 'b.[rank]')
and get:
Cerecerez NULL
NULL a.BANNER_RANK
b.[rank]
George,
You could go for using a CASE statement as earlier mentioned by Erland. This would look like below: (Downside is that you need to be mentioning all possible values in the CASE)
ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2]
@BANNER_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX),
@ORION_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX)
RETURNS @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison TABLE
LAST_NAME nvarchar(max),
EMPNO int,
BannerColumnName nvarchar(max),
BANNER nvarchar(max),
ORION nvarchar(max)
AS
BEGIN
INSERT INTO @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison(LAST_NAME, BANNER, ORION)
SELECT
a.LAST_NAME
, CASE @BANNER_COLUMN WHEN 'a.BANNER_RANK' THEN a.BANNER_RANK WHEN 'a.BADGE' THEN a.BADGE END --put values as required
, CASE @ORION_COLUMN WHEN 'b.[rank]' THEN b.[rank] END --put values as required
FROM OPENQUERY(ORCLPROD_APDORACLE, 'select LAST_NAME, BANNER_RANK, BADGE, EMP_STATUS from XTRACT_VIEW') AS a
inner join IWM_Stage.dbo.ViewPersonnel AS b
on a.BADGE = b.badge
WHERE a.EMP_STATUS = 'A'
and a.BANNER_RANK <> b.[rank]
RETURN;
END;
GO
Another method that I would suggest is to get all values from the function, then build a dynamic query to obtain results from it .. Something like:
ALTER FUNCTION [dbo].[ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2]()
RETURNS @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison TABLE
LAST_NAME nvarchar(max),
EMPNO int,
BannerColumnName nvarchar(max),
BANNER nvarchar(max),
ORION nvarchar(max)
AS
BEGIN
INSERT INTO @Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison(LAST_NAME, BANNER, ORION)
SELECT
* --Returns all the columns
FROM OPENQUERY(ORCLPROD_APDORACLE, 'select LAST_NAME, BANNER_RANK, BADGE, EMP_STATUS from XTRACT_VIEW') AS a
inner join IWM_Stage.dbo.ViewPersonnel AS b
on a.BADGE = b.badge
WHERE a.EMP_STATUS = 'A'
and a.BANNER_RANK <> b.[rank]
RETURN;
END;
GO
--Execution
DECLARE @BANNER_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX), @ORION_COLUMN AS VARCHAR(MAX),@SQL NVARCHAR(MAX)
SET @BANNER_COLUMN='BANNER_RANK'
SET @ORION_COLUMN='[rank]'
SET @SQL='
select LAST_NAME,'+@BANNER_COLUMN+','+@ORION_COLUMN+' from ufn_Banner_Orion_Employee_Comparison_parser_v2 ()'
PRINT @SQL
EXEC @SQL
You just need to make sure that the column names returned by the function are UNIQUE (Using proper alias names) so that you don't have a problem referring to them from the outside..
Thanks,
Jay

How to pass parameters to query-database function [Solved]
Dear All,
I'm working on a BPEL process which reads a file and the data is passes on
to a web service. In the transform activity to transform data from the source to the
web serivice parameters, I want to use the query-database function to check if
the value given in the file exists in the database. I have added a 'If' XSL construct
for this. Now when the query is static (given with hardcoded where clause), the
query-database function works fine. But I want to use one of the column in the
source variable in the SQL query I'm using in the query-database function.
i.e. If I give the query as below it is working:
<xsl:if test="orcl:query-database("select empno from emp
where empno='10'",.....) > 0">
I want to replace the hardcoded value 10 with the value from the source variable.
I'm not sure how this should be done. If I refer to the element directly in the XSL
it is not working. I've shown this below.
<xsl:if test="orcl:query-database("select empno from emp
where empno='/tns:Root-Element/tns:Data/:tns:Empno'",.....) > 0">
Something like above does not work. I'm not sure also if the syntax is correct. It
does not give any error, but the transformation does not happen.
Is there any way you can pass any input value as a parameter to the
query-database function?
Thanks in advance
-RubanHi Dipal,
The concat works! Thank you very much for the help. I didn't try concat before.
I was using a alphanumeric field, so it was required to add one more concat
for enclosing the value with single quotes. For numerical fields, one concat would
be enough as you had shown.
My xsl looks like this now:
<xsl:if test="orcl:query-database(concat(concat("select empno from emp
where empno='",/tns:Root-Element/tns:Data/:tns:Empno),"'"),
false(),false(),"jdbc/DbConnection") > 0">
This works properly.

Passing parameters to PL/SQL function called in VO
Hi,
I am writing a VO that is calling a PL/SQL function. The VO query looks like this.
select xx_dummy_func (:1,:2) from dual
Now, how can I assign these two parameter values at run time?
Generally when we have a query parameters We do xxVO.setwhereclauseparam. But in the above scenario, its not a whereclause but instead a procedure parameter. Please let me know how to do it.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
-AbmThats correct, basically, setwherecaluse param api, just replaces bind variables with the index values, whereever they are in the query!

Any hints !

BharathwajHi,
I guess you dont get it yet !
In WebDynpro we have an option of adding a parameter as a argument with the Event.
(like public void onText(Event event,String myParameter)
Considering your case ..Assuming i dont want to use the button id .. how will i acheive this !
This is the requirement i am looking in ..What you are suggesting is using the id and manipulating values..

Pass parameters to a function in main class from loaded SWF?
I've got a main.as that loads SWF to the stage.
the loaded SWF seppoused to pass a link to the main.as and trigger a javascript function to popUp that photo from that link.
I know there are two ways:
((root as MovieClip).parent.parent as Object).somefunction(parameters);
and to dispatch an event.
inorder to pass parameters throug the event i need to extend it with another class.
isnt the (root as... ) more efficient if all i need is to pass a link?when a photo from the gallery is selected a javascript popUp shows it enlarged with additioan editing options (kinda like in facebook).
in that popUp ther is also a next button so its kinda bidirectional. (the next calling the loaded SWF throug main to get the next link in the photo array)
the photo is a grandchild of a grandchild of the stage and the loaded swf is a grandchild so using:
((root as MovieClip).root as MovieClip).ExternalInterface.call("ShowPic", link);
is discusting >< -
Passing parameters to an event handler
I am successfully using event handlers to respond to user
inputs(mouse click, enter key, etc.)
The handler can also use the event objects parameters to
perform operations based on who called the function. An example of
this is the target._name, which is apparently passed when the event
occurs.
In addition, I have a need to call an event handler from
within AS to essentially mimic a mouse click or keyboard entry.
This call from AS is no problem. Just use the event handler
name. For instance, mc.click(); and the handler is invoked.
However, with the AS call there is no object passed to the
handler. This differs from an event-driven call where an object
identifying the event source is passed to the handler.
The question is: Can you pass a parameter(s) or object to an
event handler from a call in ActionScript? I have tried various
ways, but nothing has worked.
Does anyone know the insides of event handling and how the
"eventObject" is passed when
a user event occurs? Knowing how that works might give some
clues as to how to pass an object from an AS call.You would need to use a modified version of the
mx.utils.Delegate package. The link below has just that;

How to disable the "turn page" event triggered by the scroll/swipe function?
The problem is as follows.
The default behaviour of Acrobat Reader (both stand alone and browser plug-in) is to allow scrolling/swiping with the mouse wheel/trackpad. This is useful when the pdf's page length is greater than the screen's own length, because you can read the pdf with no need to distract your attention from the text to the scrollbar button. However, the same scroll/swipe function turns into a usability problem when the pdf is embedded in a html page and the pdf's page length is smaller than the browser's length. In this case, the scroll/swipe turns the page, distracting your attention from the text to the unintended behaviour of the browser. What happens is that you are so used to scrolling/swiping that you did it unintentionally in the pdf's caption area. You really did not want to turn pages in the pdf. Furthermore, if the pdf takes the whole html page, being a website, the scroll/swipe function flips the website pages in ways that neither the reader nor the writer had ever intended. Hence the question. How to disable, in this case, the "turn page" event triggered by the scroll/swipe function? A JavaScript should do, but the SDK documents did not help so far...

Form Personalization - Custom Function - How to pass parameters?
Hi,
My requirement is to call a custom mod pl/sql program (html page) from purchasing when the "approve" button is pressed. I have it working, but don't know how to pass parameters to my function.
I have my function defined and registered. In the definition under "Web HTML" tab, I have my pl/sql procedure call under "HTML Call". Where do the parameters go?
On the customization of form POXPOEPO, I am using Builtin - Launch a function. I want to pass the po_header_id, so under "Parameters", I did "Insert Item Value" of :PO_HEADERS.PO_HEADER_ID
My custom HMTL page is popping up, but the parameter is not being passed. Is there something in the Function Definition where I can define the incoming paramaters?
Thanks.

How to pass parameters to function module
Hello,
Can someone suggest how to pass parameter values to BAPI function module from a .NET client? I am using the BAPI_PO_GETDETAILS module and want to pass required parameters to get the item details. Also, please let me know which table should I refer to when retrieving the result. I am using sap .net connector 3.0.
Thanks in advanceHi unosino,
at http://www.se80.co.uk/sapfms/b/bapi/bapi_po_getdetail.htm you can see, that you have to pass po_header and po_address to the function.
You can do that with the nco3 like this:
IRfcFunction rfcFunction = destination.Repository.CreateFunction("BAPI_PO_GETDETAILS");
rfcFunction.SetValue("po_header", /* your value */);
rfcFunction.SetValue("po_address", /* your value */);
rfcFunction.Invoke(destination);
kind regards
