Passing record ID between pages?

Question

I cut a master/slave set of pages. When I select a record on
master, it calls the appropriate record on slave. Now I want to
edit the specific record. I have a separate page that allows me to
edit a given record. How do I put a link on the slave page such
that the chosen record number is passed to the "edit page"?

Greg,
Short a few details about how you are setup and what kind of page items (tabular or form layout), but say you have a Page 1 with the item :P1_MAIN_KEY_FIELD, other pages can reference that value (or use that as a default value in their fields).
I always get confused with the various syntax options, depending on where and how you're trying to use it, so experiment with the various options:
&P1_MAIN_KEY_FIELD. or
:P1_MAIN_KEY_FIELD or (as an ITEM source)
P1_MAIN_KEY_FIELD
Since you want a form field to hold that value from a previous page, you'd probably need a Before Header or Before Region process, so you could use that value as your DB column value. Hard to say exactly without knowing what your trying to do.
Scott, Sergio or somebody with a lot more knowledge could clarify this a bit more, but that should be enough to get you going.
