Passing variables and reloading pages

I have a page in our application that is spawned into a new window. The url is used to pass the variable, the page needs to be constantly reloaded to pick up new data.
I have two problems:
1.
Currenlty I pass the pkid back on reload by:

This works fine, except when there is a validation error, it bypasses this code.
2.
I could use the sessionbean (and do) but the user could have multiple windows open and the session variable will conflict.
I have seen a lot of people suggest session bean variables, doesn't anyone else see this as a problem.
could i set a request variable on page construction, then it will be there on reload? Are there any decent examples of all the varible passing options (in one place).?

I've read about "processScope" in "ADF Faces" that may answer your requirements. I've only just started to investigate this but have been having trouble getting the ADF component download from oracle. Probably you'll have more luck with it. Check out the is link >>

What I meant is turn off Documents and Data in iCloud in OS X. Keep it on on your iOS devices. iCloud will sync documents between the iOS devices and make them available on the iCloud web site, but it won't mess up iWorks' open and save dialog boxes. It also won't assume that you want all your documents in iCloud, which I think is undesirable anyway.
Keep iOS and OS X separate, and use the web site to move files between the two as necessary.
iOS iWork is different from OS X iWork. There are fewer fonts on an iOS device. iOS iWork programs have slightly different feature sets than OS X iWork programs, and the file formats are different. iCloud automatically converts the file format when necessary, but if you make a habit of saving things directly to iCloud, you are limited to the lowest common denominator between the two versions of iWorks. So why would anyone want iWork on the Mac to open and save documents on iCloud by default?
If you want to store files in the cloud and sync them on your Macs, SugarSync is a much better solution. It lets you choose your sync folders, it doesn't make you reorganize your files, it lets you sync all file types, it doesn't convert files to a different format and back, and it stores everything in the cloud, too. Just the simle act of saving a file backs it up and syncs it. I wouldn't live without it. iCloud is best with iTunes purchases and synchronizing Mac settings and iOS files; I woudln't live without it. The two make an unbeatable combination.

Pass variable and set default value based on user's group

I'm using SharePoint 2010 and SQL 2012. I need to send a variable to the page and based on its value, set default value for a drop down list and send it to other web part to filter the data. Is it possible for certain users to send that value as a default
and limit user to see only this value in the text field or drop down list; for others - to allow to see the drop down list, but also set the default value for that list?
The main page was designed in SharePoint designer, using web parts (aspx page). I had setup a connection to Active Directory and already have the code to get user's groups and based on their group, I have that variable pulled into the web page for further
use. But I don't know how to pass that value as a default value to the web part (currently using SharePoint Filter web part). When I tried to set a default value for the web part - it automatically puts the quotation marks around the name of the variable
and shows it as a text instead of showing the value of the field.

Thank you for your response. I'll try to give you more details. On PageA I check user's groups and based on the group, assign the value and pass it to the next page (no input from the user, all done behind the scene and user is redirected to PageB).
On the next page I read that value and would like to send it to the SharePoint List Filter Web as a default value, as well as send it to another web part that displays the list from SQL, filtered using that default value. Ideally, if the user is from Group
A, I'd like for them to have only one value in that drop down list; if user is from Group B - give him drop down list with 40 items to choose from. Below there is a part of the code and variable fnum has the value from PageA (if I print the value on the screen
- I do see that it has correct value, so the code that gets groups from Active directory works correctly). If I assign fnum as a default value of the list, it shows "fnum" instead of the value of variable fnum. I connect to SQL database, using external
content - so the other list that I'm filtering based on the value in that drop down list - is XSLT Data View Web part. I also have 2 more filters on that page, that user will have full access to and based on their input, it is also sent to the XSLT web part
to filter out more data. Since one of the filters is the date and I am filtering data starting from the date that user chooses - XSLT is the only web part that I was able to make it work with.
I looked at the link you provided (thank you). It is using Content Query Web part. Will it work with external content, as well as accepting multiple filtering, including custom starting date? I appreciate your help!

Pass variables and return ResultSet from same preparedStatement

I am passing "fp" and "week_no" to a preparedStament in a class and want to return the values to my jsp page. "fp" and "week_no" are used twice. Please see below. When I run it, I get no error messages but, it doesn't display any data.

Hi,
First thing U can't do this way in java. If U are executing this sort of database query, after retriving all the values, put inside Haahtable or HashMap as the application required and return it.
Otherwise execute this query at the same place where u r printing values in jsp page insted of writing it inside seperate method..It will work.
If still it's not workimg, please let me know.

Passing variables and methods between two class files

I created two simple programs to see what I can learn about how separate class files work together.
There are two files, Alpha.java and Beta.java. Both are located in the same folder.

Alpha compiles fine. Beta does not compile and I get this error:

My first problem to solve is to get Beta to compile. After that I should be able to run it from the command line and get something like this as output:

That was easy, and it confirms what I thought should happen. Now for the real question:
Alpha and Beta are servlets in a package called abClasses. Alpha starts out like this:

Alpha creates a Connection variable, and Beta is going to use it. But when I try to compile Alpha I get an error that says this:
cannot resolve symbol

Alpha a = new Alpha();
Any suggestions on why what we did in the simple Alpha and Beta programs won't work in the Alpha and Beta servlets?

Firefox 3.5 teh Personas are missing and reload page, Also Firefox is bogged and not working correctly, it is NOT working with iGoogle Homepage either, All sorts of problems

Firefox is bogged and does not reload right.. Firefox Persona's is missing..
iGoogle when down nearly 2 weeks ago and my iGoogle homepage went missing in action, all gadgets gone, just a blank page, NOTHING worked, all steps did NOT restore it, AND the help forum had some rude employees. The help forum details page is totally and utterly disabled and all you can do is type in the subject line your query and hope they answer, But you cannot type in the box when it asks for details so I had to type that issue also in the subject line, then one female told me from Google and rudely "funny I'm not having a problem with the help forum pages, nobody else is either" something like that but snappy... And rude, NOT helpful at all..
I'm wondering if Google knows their employees do this because frankly I buy goods and services quite often, its enough to cause me to go somewhere else and even spend a little more for nicer helpers... Anyway... I did all steps over there, Nothing restored my gadgets.. Nobody helped over there EXCEPT to say its all Firefox's fault.
So that is why I am here... To get help.. no settings over at Google or Firefox have I changed.. But Google did go down nearly 2 weeks ago with ALL blogs, many hundreds lost some important posts. After I spoke with the female it was after blogger came back online.... Then today my settings on myblogger was changed, one minute they are fine, the next they are different colored texts.. The type of background I use there, you have to manually go in to change the background FIRST before you change the text color, both of which I never did and yet someone went in there today to do this.
sorry for venting, very frustrated with service there.. It only stands to reason that if blogger went down and it happens to be exactly when I lost all gadgets etc, that they need not blame firefox for it... YET though blogger came back up the issue with the gadgets and entire iGoogle homepage is utterly still at hand, so I thought to write to their help forum but to get SLAMMED by a female that would be better off doing a boxing match in an amateur event rather then being impeccably a customer service agent that cares about customers and people.
I wanted to upgrade to firefox 4 BUT I heard there were some glitches not worked out yet, and I was worried not knowing if since I'm already having a glitch problem if it would make it worse to upgrade.
so firefox is not loading right, it is also not showing Persona.. And iGoogle is not working right either, not sure if Google and you have a connection but they keep saying its all Firefox's fault.
can you help me? I hope so... I love firefox and I had to use Opera today only because it was so bad that I had no choice.. Opera works fine but its firefox that I want..

I wish it were that but a long time ago when I had a problem with the gadgets with iGoogle back 6 months ago thereabouts I was asked to disable it then and I did and I just went to re-check and it is still not enabled, however, it will not let me un-install it though.. It only gives me an option to enable or disable.. Any advice ? So I'm wondering if it is something else still or is there a problem with the avast still ?

Since updating to 8.0.1 I find I have to stop and reload pages in order for them to load.

Every time I go to a site I end up having to stop loading and then reload a page before it will come up. I have waited as long as 2 minutes to see if the pages will come up. It especially happens when clicking on a link. The link can be from google or a web page. I did not have this problem before updating to 8.0.1

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Can you catch form has expired exception and reload page?

I have a cfcalendar wrapped with cfform, every first time start the application, it either is empty or give me form data as expired message.
I have tried to set cfform timeout to a 100 or 200 seconds, but if you close the application and next time open it (if after the timeout limits) it shows the form data has expired message again. If I don't set or set it to 0, then the next time I open the browser, it give me an empty form page.
So I wonder if there is a way to catch that exception, and then make it reload the page?
Any ideals to solve the problem.

The first thing I would do would be to use an html form instead of flash. The second would be to add a submit button. On change events are very frustrating if you don't make the correct selection on your first attempt.

2D array getting errors on passing variables and more...

When I compile this, I get an error saying that I cannot pass my variables of pizza, type, and day. It says that it cannot have String and int[][]. Then I get errors saying that symbol cannot be resolved for my variables of type, pizza, and day when they are in my input and calculate methods of the menu class.
I am trying to set up a 2D array that has 3 rows and 7 columns, for 3 types of pizza and the days of the week. If I get it right, it should allow the user to input the # of each type of pizza sold on each day, and then total it and display the totals.
Each time I change something, I get something else weird going on. If anyone can help me figure out where I went wrong I would appreciate it.

PHP/MySQL - Nav links pass variable to another page? Or?

I'm a PHP/MySQL beginner. I'm digging through books and tutorials as best I can, but finding myself a little lost in the sheer volume of information. If someone can point me in the right direction for this task, I'd really appreciate it.
I have a database (MySQL) with two tables. One is a list of carpets, and the other a list of the categories of carpets and information about those categories.
The "carpets" table has a field for each record to indicate which category that carpet belongs to.
I'm trying to do this:
- A navigation bar listing the categories
- When you click on a category, a "gallery" page opens, display the carpets (name, description, photo) of each carpet in that category
Does Dreamweaver have server behaviors for this? If not, can anyone give me a general idea of what the code is I need to write to make this happen?

detail.php in my application is "gallery.php"
When I view navbar.php in the browser and click on one of the links, the resulting URL is like this:

Can somebody tell me how to create a(Content area) folder based on a PL/SQL procedure that takes a variable as a
parameter and returns data based on value of that parameter to the folder . Any help would be appreciated .

Somewhere, in one procedure, build a session identifier and save your variable there. If no session with that identifier is previously stored, it will create a new session instance with that ID for you.

How to pass variable from one prompt to another prompt in dashboard page.
I have two prompt in dashboard page as below.
Reporttype
prompt: values(Accounting, Operational) Note: values stored as
presentation variable and they are not coming from table.
Date prompt values (Account_date, Operation_date)
Note:values are coming from dim_date table.
Now the task is When user select First
Prompt value “Accounting” Then in the
second prompt should display only Accounting_dates , if user select “operational”
and it should display only operation_dates in second prompt.
In order to solve this issue I made the
first prompt “Reporttype” values(Accounting, Operational) as presentation
values (custom specific values) and default presentation value is accounting.
In second prompt Date are coming from
dim_date table and I selected Sql results as shown below.

Issue: Presentation variable value is not
changing in sql when user select “operation” and second prompt always shows

You will want to use the MoveClipLoader class (using its loadClip() and addListener() methods) rather than loadMovie so that you can wait for the file to load before you try to access anything in it. You can create an empty movieclip to load the swf into, and in that way the loaded file can be targeted using the empty movieclip instance name.

I am an ASP programmer and need help passing variable in JSP

When I pass a value using a variable string that grabs the user name of a current windows session it adds spaces after each character. it should pass jdt3 and it passes j d t 3. It is grabbing the correct info. It writes the value to a web page correctly though. I really appreciate the assistance.

Open AirPort Utility on the PC, select the Airport Extreme and click Manual Setup
Click the Advanced icon
Click the Port Mapping tab
Click the + (plus) button at the bottom of the connection list to set things up

IF.....you do not see a Port Mapping tab when you click the Advanced icon, then that would mean that the AirPort Extreme is in Bridge Mode and the main routing functions for the network are being provided by another device.
You will need to set up the port mapping on that device, which is likely your modem/router or gateway.
