Password Protecting a JSP Home Page

Hi,
Can anyone help me set up some type of login & password authentication on a site I have set up on web logic server? It's a portal type home page that has links to some sites but I would like to have password protection before it gets to the portal page. Is there a good way to do this possibly using a JSP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dino

Assuming you have a database with usernames and passwords and would use cookies, here's a Q&D approach...
On your pages, check for the presence of a specific session cookie ( you name it ). You can do this with a simple include file on each page.
If no cookie:
Prompt for login. Upon successful login, write session cookie (you named) with value of the current session ID.
If cookie is found:
Check it's value against session.getId(). If it matches, let 'em in, otherwise prompt for login.
good luck!

There's no function within Muse to do this. Have a look at this thread, it might be of use.

  • How do I password protect a document in Pages Ver. 4.1

I need to change from MSWord to Pages in order to use the iCloud and can't seem to figure out how to password protect documents.  The previous, older discussion it a bit to combersome -- certainly this issue must have been addressed with the newer versions.  Any help will be greatly apprecitated.  Larry

This may not be a real solution but it works for what I am using it for, accessing a long list of things, that I dont plan on editing: This does not work if yo are opening the document on your iPhone and plan on editing it.
    So
I have mountain lion and Pages 4.2.
If I go to my Pages app on my iPhone, the document is there.
If you have used a password already to open it on your iPhone, it wont ask again (the problem) so you may need to delete it from iCloud (make sure you have a downloaded copy first), and then re-upload it to iCloud.
Then when you go to open it, it gives me a window
    Open Document
This document may look different on your iOS device than on your Mac. Use open copy to preserve the original.
tap on the option "Open Copy"
Doing that calls for a password
    you can read the document
close it, delete it (done as though you were deleting an app, touch on it for a few seconds, it starts wiggling, then hit the trash button)
that lets you access a copy  the document, and keeps the original password protected.
really lame I know but works for what I am using it for.

  • Firefox keeps losing password setting on my home page and i have to keep logging in all the time

Whenever I start Firefox it goes to my homepage, however it cannot remember my settings although it was saved and ticked to remember it, Even after logging it, Firefox will sort of log out of the page and I have to log in again. Thought it was my yahoo setting, tried it on explorer and do not have this problem.

    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * You need an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep that cookie, especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
    * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.
    * Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode

  • Password protecting a page

Hope nobody minds another question from an amateur.
Is it possible to set up password protection on an HTML page
in MX 2004? I'm doing a site for a client that wants it
up-and-running so his partners can review it, but doesn't want the
browsing public to be able to view the site just yet.
There is no need for setting up a server model, it consists
of plain vanilla HTML pages at this point.
    Thanks a lot.

You should also be able to do it from the control panel of
    your host. Works
    well for me.

  • How to Password protect doc in pages

How do I password protect a doc in pages?

I'll assume you mean Pages 5 on Mac:
    Menu > File > Set Password…
But think very carefully before doing it, the only person you are probably going to lock out from the document is yourself and there is no sensible way of getting back in other than a very expensive Russion cracking app, that will do so by sheer brute force, which will take ages.

  • PASSWORD protect an INDIVIDUAL PAGE

IWEB certainly is a useful publishing tool, but I have come up against an issue. Is it possible to password protect an individual page of a site? I can't seem to find a way to do this?

My understanding is no. You can create a second site that is password protected and link to a page within that site. Remember the password protection only works aon pages posted to your .Mac account.

  • Password protecting pages within PDF

Is it possible to password protect a section or pages or a page of a PDF?
We have a customer that needs to open a form on their phone or tablet for their customer review.  However, part of the financial form DOES NOT need to be viewable by their customer.  So, we are thinking the field worker can sign into the financial portion of the PDF.  Is that possible?  Where the financial portion is on a different page of the PDF and that page is password protected.
    Craig

No, you can't password protect pages. There are ways of hiding the data on
those pages, but they might not properly on mobile devices. Why not simply
separate the financial info to another file?

  • Password Protect Entire Gallery Page

I know you can protect individual albums but is there a way to password protect the whole gallery page ?
    thanks

No. You can't password protect the entire MobileMe gallery as a unit but can protect each gallery individually with the same user name and password. '
If you want to make it convenient for visitors to have access to each gallery you could create an iWeb site with a page of hyperlinks to each of the protected MMe Galleries. Each hyperlink can be set to open in a new window so all it would take to get back to the page of hyperlinks would be to close the gallery window.

  • Can photo galleries be password protected?  How?

Under my iWeb I have several dozen of the "old" style photo pages, and several dozen photo galleries. I have never applied a password to any part of my iWeb. Is it possible to password protect each of these pages (both pages and the new photo galleries)? If so, how? And, if so, can I apply a password to everything at one time, or would I have to do so to each page and gallery? Thank you!

Yes, it can.  Use File > Properties, and click the Security tab. Click Change, and set what you need. When the file is saved, the security is set.
BE SURE TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL FILE TOO.

  • Password protecting a document

How can I password protect a document in Pages so that only I can access it when I provide my password? Thanks!

    p,
In iWork 09, we can apply a password in the Document Inspector, Document Tab. In iWork 08, we use Disk Utility.app to create a secure folder to save our work in. So, the file itself isn't protected, but access to the folder it is stored in is very secure.
To make a secure folder, start Disk Utility and click on New Image on the Tool Bar. Name the folder, select a Volume Size that's larger than you might ever need, leave the Volume Format on the default, set the Encryption to the lower number of bits (recommended), Single Partition, Image Format > Sparse Disk Image.
Don't forget your password because the encryption is such that you'll never crack it and your work will be lost with the password. If you use a secure User Account password to access your account on the computer, you can have Keychain remember your disk image password for convenience. If you carry your work around on a flash drive, you won't have to worry about anyone reading it if you lose the drive.

  • Link to other published web folder from within password protected iWeb site

I realise that you cannot password protect an iWeb site if it contains a link to an external page / file. However, I have a complex genealogy site that I had previously published to another site. I directly copied this folder to the iWeb directory alongside the folder for the protected site published from iWeb. I have tried all sorts of link URLs on the protected site page, trying to link to the genealogy index.html file. iWeb refuses to allow password protection or even point correctly to the site.
Does anyone know how to create a suitable link to a site folder created elsewhere?

I have a password protected site with a page that has a link to an ordinary homepage.mac.com page, with no problems. Could you provide more details on what is not working for you? Maybe putting your geneology folder in iDisk/Sites and linking to that would help?

  • Password protect document

    Guys
Is it possible to password protect a document in Pages (I am using version 8). My research so far indicates that it is not possible.
I found the attached thread from 2007 which indicates that it is not possible. Does anyone know if this is still the status quo?

    Many thanks
    E

    Pages '08 didn't change. It's a frozen product.
Pages '09 offer a password protection tool but, as we don't know which king of algorithm is used, some of us continue to use the good old encrypted disk image scheme.
