Pasted images always landing slightly off-center. Is there a fix?

I'm editing individual frames of an animation sequence. I find that when I add the next frame (jpg) as a new layer, it always lands a few pixels off from where it should be. Every frame is exactly the same size (1920x1080) and when photoshop opens and centers one frame on top of the previous one, it will randomly be around 2-6 pixels off, both horizontally and vertically. Because the difference is so slight, I didn't notice it until I rendered the first few frames and found that they were jittering.
Does anybody know about this problem and if there's any way to fix it? Manually moving it to the right place every time will be a huge pain as I have thousands of frames to get through.
Cheers.
Edit:
I know they can be matched up with the 'automatically align layers' command, but this will be useless when the camera is moving. And it takes ages to load that action. I simply just want each frame to be placed exactly on top of eachother, from corner to corner.

To enforce exact placement, simply do a Select All (Ctrl+A). Pasting into an existing selection will try to fit the content into that selection. Still, it shouldn't be necessary, so I can only assume that you have some ghost pixels there that cause the offset, i.e. they are invisible, but stil lrecognized by the program as valid pixels. Perhaps some feathering on your selection? not sure. Definitely something like that.

  • Slightly off center

Epson has referred me to Adobe… My Epson ProStylus 7890 prints slightly off center when set to center from the Photoshop CS6 print dialog box. How can I fix this in Photoshop?

That would mean at best that the Epson printer driver plays nice with Apple's Preview but not with your version of Photoshop.
Maybe if you gave us sensible details about your setup and a more exact description of what you mean by off-center (vertically?  horizontally?  by how much?  what size prints, etc.)…
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand, such as your platform (Mac or Win), exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop and of Bridge, machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, video card specs, what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, what error message(s) you receive, if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them, etc., someone may be able to help you.
A screen shot could be very helpful too.

Only an Apple Store or an authorized Apple Service Provider can determine if a repair is economically justifiable. It may be as simple as a dislodged display cable.

  • Can I print my file slightly off-center?

Hello, my InDesign file is a landscape 8.5" x 11" (letter) document. It's an event program, so it's designed to be folded down the middle.
Unfortunately my printer has an issue where it prints everything 1 mm lower than it should be.
Is there a way to have InDesign print my file +1 mm vertically? If not, I can just tweak my design to compensate.
    Thanks!

Have you tried a custom paper size—adjust the height + or - like this with the Page Position upper left. In this case I'm moving the print 10mm from the normal 215.

  • IPad Images Appear 90 Degree Off on Windows. Need fix.

I took about a hundred pics from my iPad and transferred them to my PC. I needed to get a single PDF file out of them so I used this site http://www.convert-jpg-to-pdf.net/ But that site, along with Windows Photo Viewer, is displaying the images 90 degrees off. I took the time to rotate each of the images manually from within the Windows Photo Viewer, but that website still renders them 90 degrees off. I can't get a print of them that way.
    How do I fix this?

How about the first answer from Microsoft Support:
    Hi,
By default, JPEG and TIFF picture files that include the EXIF picture orientation property are rotated during import in Windows photo viewer
    in Windows 7.
In Windows Live photo gallery you can set the option by following these steps:
    1. Open Windows Live photo gallery.
    2. Click on file and then click on Options.
    3. Click on Import.
    4. Now click on “Rotate Photos during Import”.
Some photo applications will display a photo as rotated which is referred to as soft rotating by reading metadata on the photo itself. Although the
Photo Gallery rotates photos on import using this same metadata, many a times it doesn't also rotate all un-rotated photos in their collection for them automatically, or at least display the photos as rotated like some other applications do.
The reason that the Photo Gallery rotates on import, but not after that is because there are a number of applications that don't correctly update the
photo metadata after rotating. This metadata is supposed to reflect the state of the photo, but if the photo is rotated without updating this metadata,
another application using this metadata to determine whether or not to rotate it will incorrectly rotate the photo.
During import, the photos are coming directly from the camera, at which point the integrity of this metadata is not in question. So although it's safe
for the Photo Gallery to rely on this metadata to make an accurate rotate decision during import, as soon as the photo makes its way to the PC, any
other application could interact with the photo, and potentially corrupt this metadata. Therefore, the Photo Gallery doesn't soft rotate at this point.

Note that if the problem is being caused by some third party application this may not address your real problem. You should contact the developer of the application

  • For the last two days I have been unable to access my e-mails over 3G network....it only works when I switch 3G off! Is there a fix for this? Please help!

    Please Help!!!!

It helped earlier but it has come back again. I don't know what to do. I tried what you said earlier but this time even this is not working either. And quite intrestingly my phone won't turn off. I turn it off, it goes off and then restarts on its own and then keep giving the same message again and again.
Could it be a charging cable, is there any chance that the cable which was working fine one day could turn to be "incompatible" with iphone the other day????????
    Please help

  • Open Dialog Box file preview displays the images out of view or off center

This is a relatively new problem and I cannot figure it out! When I go to open a file through Illustrator (using column preview) normally off to the right side there is a preview of the file. However now I can only see a tiny portion of the image like it's off center or something (see the far right side of the picture below. What is even more strange is when I open a file in Finder, the preview is normal. Any ideas on what it could be??
    Thanks!

I am having the same problem! I just upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.3 - I wonder if it is a bug with that.
this is the only common factor, so we can only assume this is the case. there is no other information on this as far as I know.

  • Batch "Place" gets off center after multiple images

This is sort of a hard one to explain.  I'm trying to place a border and watermark over multiple images through the Place command.  The image that I'm using to place is a .psd file with transparent background.  The main images are tiff files.  The problem is, that after a number of images that are changed, the placed image (border/watermark) gets off center by a few pixels each time and I end up with a border shifting to the right.  How can I fix this?  Here is my process:
    1.  Create action
    2.  Resize image to 1200x1800px 300dpi.
    3.  "Place" border/watermark image over top of main image.  Center Position is 600px and 1200px.  Scale 100.1% for each side
    4.  Flatten Image
    5.  Sharpen
    6.  Close action
    7.  I then select multiple images via Bridge and go to "Batch" or "Image Processor" and run it.
    8.  Over multiple images, the placed image "creeps" to the right by a pixel or two each image.
Is there something I'm doing wrong here?  The placed image is the exact same size and orientation as the original images.

Ahh this is a huge help.  This problem has been a thorn in my side for months.  Thank you for the quick answer.  Here is the list of my steps now...
    1.  Resize background image to whatever I need
    2.  Place overlay image (border/watermark) and "enter"
    3.  Select All
    4.  Layer > Align layers to selection > Vertical Centers
    5.  Layer > Align layers to selection > Horizontal Centers
    6.  Flatten Image
Works great, as long as the placed image is the same size as the background image.

  • Off center error bars

I'm using AI CS2, and am running OSX 10.3.9.
I use the copy/ paste function to copy graphs from a graphing program (Kaleidagraph) into illustrator. Whenever I paste a line graph with error bars, the error bars are always slightly off center to the object they are supposed to be centered on. When I paste the same graph into another program, the error bars are centered so I know this is an illustrator problem. Other components might be off center as well, but it is only the error bars that are noticeable.
I know this problem is fixable as someone managed to change something in illustrator to stop the off center problem when pasting into illustrator, but unfortunately that person can't remember how they did it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply Eileen,
Though that's not quite my problem. The line graphs I'm talking about will have several shapes in a line, (ie. a circle). When I make a graph, the circles will have a straight line down the middle of the circle (the error bar). When I than past this graph into illustrator, illustrator for some reasons off sets the straight lines of the center of the circle. The off set is less than 1pt, but is still noticeable. And it does it every time.

  • Drop zone jpeg off center?

I am creating a a dvd and when I drop the jpeg onto the main menu button it looks fine, but when I start encoding it I can see that it shifts to being a little bit off center?
    Here are some interesting details:
I burned one disc as widescreen and the image is centered.
Then I changed the format to 4:3 and now the same image on the same button is slightly off center to the right.
I deleted and re-dropped the image and it is still off to the right?
It would seem I need to start over, but I would prefer to avoid that if possible. That somehow the button is retaining the 16:9 format I first picked when it goes to encode?? Just my laymen guess.
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Henry

    Steve,
For an SD DVD output from HD material, you will likely get better results, if you Share from your HD Project as DV-AVI Widescreen, and then Import that DV-AVI file into a new Project for authoring to DVD.
For the Menu Background, I would Scale that to the full size for that DVD Menu in PS, or PSE.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - Note: there are some PrE 9 Menus, that do not function, as they should, and added background Images might not take, or might only take for either the Main Menu, or the Selection Menu. There are several threads on this issue, and also a list of how each Menu Set in PrE 9 works, or does not work.

  • PSD CS4 - Cursor is off center, help!

When I am using any tool (Smudge, Brush, Pen, etc.) in PSD CS4 (Mac 10.5.8) my tool is off center.
Here is an example: I have a blank white page and a brush tool (200 pixels, 100% hardness) with the color black assigned to it and I click in the center of the page to create a round dot. The dot is not on the spot where I clicked, instead it shows up below the point where I clicked, about 10 pixels off center. It's always 10 pixels off center no matter how big the brush.
It's impossible to work this way. I am at a total loss as to how to fix this problem. I've Googled and searched the Adobe Forums and can't find a solution.
Photo of my problem is attached.
Thank you from desperate, aka Dimitry

  • Printing is misaligned or 'off center'

Trying to print business cards and the text is slightly off center.  Same with anything I print.  Did an alignment and have the lasted updated and drivers.  Print quality is good.
    HP D1420
    Windows 7 64bit
    Thanks.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The spiral is at the top of the page and depending on how you setup the preview it will be at the top or side. It will have to print along the side because the paper has to be rotated 90 degrees to go thru the printer. So it shouldn't matter where it appears in the preview.

  • Screen is off center

I just got my macbook pro through fedex today
When i turned on my lovely new macbook pro, i noticed the viewable screen is slightly off center to the left.
I had mine upgraded to hi-res, and was wondering if everyone is having the same problem or if i should take it in for a replacement.

I would imagine this is a setting on the TV itself, refer to the manual that came with the TV.

  • Lens off-center on new iSight

I just received my new iSight and just started testing it. I notice that my lens internally seems to be slightly off-center as I am not centered in the window if I sit dead center in front of the camera. Is this a common issue? It doesn't seem to be a huge problem as I can rotate the camera and center myself, but it just seems a bit odd.
    Thanks for the help,
    Todd

I guess I just wasn't sure how common it was if at all. I searched here and so no other mention and seeing as your reply is the only one thus far, it leads me to believe it is an anomaly. I may return it for another, I haven't decided yet.
Thanks a lot for the response,

  • MBP display dims slightly off while reading article....???

    Hi all,
I have done a lot of research in this discussion, but couldn't find the resolution. The MBP display always dims slightly off while not in use for 1 minute. If I check off the setting in the Energy Saver/Option/"Automatically reduce the brightness.....", then display dims off completely (dark...)!! It's very annoying since ever time when I read an article without moving mouse for 1 minute, then the display dims off slightly. I have to keep moving the mouse so it doesn't dim off.
Does anyone have the same issue? Does anyone find any resolution?? I talked to the Genius guy and they said they don't know what to do about it....
    Thanks in advance.

Okay okay, I see what you're saying... I thought you were saying it goes off and doesn't come back on or something.
Anyways, this is normal behavior but it can be prevented. Go to energy saver preference panel. For both battery and adaptor, slide the "put displays to sleep after" slider all the way to the right, which is never. Make sure also under the options tab, that you uncheck the "reduce brightness..." box.
