Patch 4247037 Required component missing oracle.sdo.locator, 11.2.0

Hi Hussein & Srini,
Need you help again . After Installing 11.2.0.3 x86_64 software (files 1of7.zip and 2of7.zip of patch 10404530) & runned the Installer from Example..
as part of part of upgrading the Vision database version from 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.3 in EBS 12.1.1 according to[ID 837570.1] and MOS Doc 1058763.1}

When am trying to apply this patch 4247037 getting this Error.. Please advise ..

Couldn't understand even after going the Readme of the patch... Do i need to set the Oracle_Home to to new Oracle_home to /oracle/VIS/db/tech_st/11.2.0.3 as it not specifically mentioned
in the readme of the Patch Or in http://chavalis.blogspot.in/2012/10/upgrading-r12-11-vision-database.html#!/2012/10/upgrading-r12-11-vision-database.html ..
Or Perhaps i couldn't get it..... Please suggest

I am not sure whether this is the correct way to do it. as setting the ORACLE_HOME to the new one isn't mentioned in Readme of the Patch

The way I read the patch readme for the JavaVM was that is was a required patch for both Database and client-only installs but this makes it sound like I don't need it on the clients. Is that correct? OPatch did successfully install the patch on this RHEL x86-64 environment but was it really needed?

Adding Index server to existing farm, "Server Farm Product and Patch Status" returned 34 Missing Locally required products and patches

Once I connected my new server to my farm's config db, it returned all of the following missing locally. I stripped out any redundancies and Headings, and I'm left with 43. I'm looking for a efficient strategy. Should I start with the lowest version number
and work my way up? Current DB version is 14.0.7015.1000. IIRC, SP2 is cumulative, so can I ignore the first two (SP1 and Hotfix), install SP2, and then the Language packs and etc on top?

Reboot

Rerun Config
STILL MISSING
Download oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-es-es.exe, run, "there are no products affected..."
Uninstall.
Re-retried, only got through the first couple:
Run SharePointServer.exe, get Missing Locally...
Install SP1 officeserver2010sp1-kb2460045-x64-fullfile-en-us.exe, SUCCESSFUL
Install English Lang Pack oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe, "There are no products affected by this package installed on this system."
Install Spanish Lang Pack oslpksp2010-kb2687462-fullfile-x64-es-es.exe,
Install SP2 oserversp2010-kb2687453-fullfile-x64-en-us.exe, run Config Wizard
I'm now downloading 462150_intl_x64_zip.exe, going to try and install it as step three.

Hpqdirec.exe has stopped working; "This program requires a missing Windows component"

Anytime I try to access the HP solution center I get a message pop-up. It is from Windows & says: "This program requires a missing Windows component. " "This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows." How do i fix this????

I am getting the above error message during unpacking a template. Below is what I have done..
First machine:
OS is Oracle Linux 64 bit version 6.4. Weblogic version 11g is installed with 2 managed servers up and running fine.

/u01/app/oracle/middleware
echo $WLS_HOME
/u01/app/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3
echo $DOM_HOME
/u01/app/oracle/middleware/user_projects/domains/ClassicDomain
Want to create another managed server on a second machine where the First machine has the Admin server..
Second machine:
OS is Oracle Linux 64 bit version 6.4. Weblogic version 11g is installed
echo $MW_HOME
/u01/app/oracle/middleware
echo $WLS_HOME
/u01/app/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3
echo $DOM_HOME
/u01/app/oracle/middleware/user_projects/domains/ClassicDomain
I go to the first machine and do a ./pack.sh command to create a template with a name of test.jar and it is successful. Use the -log command to see the logs.(everything is fine)
I copy the above created template test.jar to the second machine..
Than on the second machine, I do the ./unpack.sh command in the $WLS_HOME/common/bin folder and I get the following error message:
fail: read template from "/u01/app/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/test.jar"
CFGFWK-60550: Script execution aborted. The script may contain an error.
Required component home not found for component 'oracle.as.jrf' version '11.1.1.6.0'
Any ideas would really appreciate it. Both of the machines have the same weblogic installation and paths. The only difference is the amount of memory each machine has that is all.. Thank you

Help define the requirements for an Oracle Spatial management tool

We are developing a tool that, we hope, will be indispensable for all Oracle Spatial and Locator dbas/users. We've released version 1.0, but we need your help to define the requirements for the next version.
What features would you like to have in a management tool for your spatial databases?
The features we've got so far:
1. Viewing of vector data in a map + attributes
2. Loading from shapefiles
3. Exporting to shapefiles
4. Validating metadata, indexes and spatial data.
We are adding editing of vectors in the next version - basic stuff for add, update and delete.
But there must be a lot more. What do you find difficult to do in Oracle Spatial/Locator? What would you like in a tool such as this?
Any feedback either to myself or the forum is much appreciated.

Andrew knows what I have asked for but for others to think about and to start
the ball rolling, here's what they are:
1. Ability to enter own SQL commands but with PARAMETERS for attributes
and shapes as in the following examples:
SELECT ...
FROM my_spatial_table a
WHERE a.ATTRIBUTE = :attr
AND MDSYS.SDO_RELATE(a.shape,:polygon,'mask=anyinteract') = 'TRUE'
When executed the attribute value is asked for via a input box (data type?)
and the user is asked to define the SDO_GEOMETRY for the :polgygon parameter via mouse clicks on the screen.
Similarly, this would work for INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE...
INSERT INTO my_spatial_table (shape) values(:polygon)
The data type of an attribute parameter could be determined in two ways:
a) By querying the Oracle catalog;
b) By using a "PARAMETERS" command before the query as follows
PARAMETERS name type [(size)] [, name type [(size)] ...]
The PARAMETERS declaration has these parts:
name     The name of the parameter.
type     The type of the parameter.
size     The size of the parameter in characters or bytes.
2. When executing an SQL SELECT statement I would like the tool
to suggest the HINTS that are needed to improve performance.
3. Following on from 2, I would like to Tick an option that would return the
EXPLAIN PLAN that the query optimizer used when executing my query.
4. The tool has to support ALL Oracle's spatial vector data types.
5. It would be nice to be able to work with GeoRasters. Since Spatial Console
imports/exports shapefiles why not the same for rasters. However, the problem
with supporting foreign data formats is WHERE DO YOU STOP!!!!!
6. You could allow for the styling of the Spatial Console to be stored in the MapViewer catalogs or use the MapViewer catalogs when styling an Sdo_Geometry if it exists (I note that your tool extracts the SDO_METADATA
why not the MapViewer metadata as well)?

"Ipod Cannot Be Updated, The File Required Is Missing" - Can someone help?

I just got this error today and its bugging me.
Whenever I try to update my ipod it gives me a new window saying "IPOD (name) cannot be updated, the file required is missing."
ummm I thought maybe if i restored my ipod the file would be restored too but that didnt work....
After i restored it, the itunes library updated my ipod with all my original playlists and videos, but now when i try to update it and sync my pictures to it or create new playlists, it gives me that message.
Can anyone give me some advice on what i can do to fix this problem? i do have the iTunes 7.01 my ipod is the 60G Ipod Video (White)

Whatever it is that you're trying to put into your iPod... make sure that the file is located in your "My Music" file first.
Basically, when you get that message double check and if what you selected isn't in "My Music" drag and drop into it and try again.

Query on Oracle Spatial Locational Analysis

I am working on Oracle Spatial Locational Analysis.
It was very interesting to see an example in this below mentioned URL.

The procedure mentioned is very clear but have some clarifications in between.
After creating the tables customers and warehouses, there aren't any .sql files where the data is feeded in to these two tables. With out the above mentioned step, in the procedure it is told to execute loc_updates.sql which updates any of the rows since if you look at the syntax in loc_updates.sql file it shows update the table customers whose customer_id=344.
Do we have to manually enetred the customer_id values?
Did Oracle miss uploading any .sql files?
I would very grateful if one could help me in this regard.

Hi Dan, if you look at my reply I mentioned that I had loaded loc_updates.sql
From my previous reply:
execute loc_updates.sql which doenot update any of the rows since if you look at the syntax in loc_updates.sql file it shows update the table customers whose customer_id=344.
Where is this customer_id=344 coming from?
Also the datatype is a number.

Assign patch levels for component versions of system: Maintenance Optimizer

Hello,
I am trying to have Maintenance Optimizer check for what files I need to download. However, I get the following error:
Assign patch levels for component versions of system SXM.
I susepect that the problem really lies in the fact that the "SP Levels" in the "Software Components" tab is not populated in SMSY.
Does something read that information from the child system and populate the data automatically? This is a new system install, and perhaps a step was missed in solman.

Hi John,
MOPZ directs you to SAP Software Download Center in order to show you the lastest status and available packages.
If you are not seeing the packages perhaps you created you satellite system at solution manager pointing to the wrong product/version.
MOPZ is created to point you to the available Support Package Stacks for its products.
Normally one creates a system in solution manager defining it as an ECC server ( this does not have a download page for MOPZ ) when the correct assignment would be SAP ERP ( this last has a download page for MOPZ ).
If this is your case, you´ll need to redefine the satellite system again in our solution manager.

Oracle 10g Locator installation

I have an Oracle 10g Database, only the plain db, no other component. Right now I need Locator to be installed, here are two questions --
1. Do I need to re-install the whole database in order to add one more component (interMedia) to 10g?
2. I know Spatial covers all Locator capabilities. Which spatial functions does Locator cover? Is there any doc about that? I'm evaluating Locator now, and the answer to this question will directly impact which edition my company need to buy (Standard vs Enterprise). We are licensed on Standard.

about installation again, is Locator automatically included ...Seems like the answers you've gotten Oracle 10g Locator should cover most aspects of this question. Not sure what you really are looking for.
Licensing-wise, all editions, i.e. XE, SE1, SE and EE, include the core spatial feature set named Locator.

As for the 10.2 software installation, I believe there's no install type that does not include dependencies (such as sql and plb scripts and database engine options) for Locator / interMedia (but no interMedia for XE).
When creating a database and configuring db components, you need to include interMedia. "installation of Locator depends on the successful and proper installation of Oracle interMedia"

This is perhaps the part that needs clarification. You can select interMedia in DBCA or install it manually with ordinst.sql (creates MDSYS user) plus iminst.sql (calls imimdloc.sql) as documented via link referenced above. Actually, these sql scripts (and the scripts for JServer and XML DB) are called in the main script created by DBCA when you tell it to save db creation scripts, if you selected interMedia.

I installed Oracle Application Server 10g release 2 (10.1.2) and updated Oracle AS Portal to 10.1.4. I want download the Oracle Container for J2EE (OC4J) 10g release 3 (10.1.3.4) as a component of Oracle Application Server (not a Standalone OC4J). Where I can find it ? At the http://edelivery.oracle.com/ I found some of items such as :
+ Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) (DVD) (Part 1 of 6) --> six parts.
+ Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.4.0) Companion CD 1 of 3 for Microsoft Windows x86 (32-bit) --> three parts.
But I don't know which of type ?
Pls show me link where I can get it ?

If you are looking for components like OC4J and OHS, download following from eDelivery:
- Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) (CD), Part Number B34431-01
Use the Advance install option and choose the components that you want to install.
For patch, download these two CDs from eDelivery:
- Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3.4.0) Patch Set CD 1 of 2 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit), Part Number B51068-01
- Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.3.4.0) Patch Set CD 2 of 2 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit), Part Number B51069-01

Hi,
I am trying to mail bipublisher reports using delivery channel as 'Email', but getting following exception:
Where should I mention SMTP_FROM value ? and how?
I have mentioned Email From Address in Admin>Delivery Configuration tab.
Please help.

ITunes required compoment missing (-42404)

Hi,
iTunes 8.01 won't open on my MacPro 8-core. (Leopard 10.5.5). It says a required component is missing (-42404).
I've tried reinstalling Quicktime and iTunes - in either order.
I have AppZapped both QT and iT.
I have run the 10.5.5 Combi updater.
I've repaired permissions.
I've prayed to makeshift Wozniak and Josb effigies.
Nada.
Please help... There doesn't seem to be any solution online. Anywhere. Although a few people have mentioned this problem.

Do you have the correct version of Quicktime 7.5.5? If you go to the downloads page (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) you will see there are separate downloads for Leopard and Tiger.
