Patch 5045299 rollback fails

My customer is trying to rollback a patch, and though the rollback is successful the ouput of the 'opatch lsinventory' shows the patch. The customer has retried rollbacl several times but the same is the case.

Was there any error during the rollback? Some times, the errors happen but still opatch says "OPatch Succeeded" in the end. Please post the log file of the patch rollback.
If the patch is successfully removed but just the inventory is not getting updated then contact support, they will be able to guide you. There is a tool called "rempatch.pl", which can be used to just update the inventory.

The StarOffice patches are most likely being recommended as there are one or more SUNWstaroffice packages installed on the system, but the patch installation cannot complete due to an incomplete installation of StarOffice. Check for any installed StarOffice packages and remove them if present:

What kind of Oracle driver your application is using? Is it the same version as your Oracle server? In any event, you need to upgrade your server now, it's obsolete version and you can't get Oracle support on it.

Needed to ROLLBACK failed Transaction

QRY will Look Like

WHERE exer_num = v_exer_num
END ;
Example :
1st record:
Participant A
Exer 1 Success
Exer 2 Success
2nd record
Participant B
Exer 1 Failed due to dead lock or some other exception.
3rd Record
Participant C
Exer 1 Success
Now in this transaction, I need to only rollback for Participant B ( failed Record) . Participants A and C should have committed the transaction. Can any one suggest me on this?
Possiblities Of Exception :
successful of INSERT , UPDATE , UPDATE will be considered as a completed tranasaction.
For a particular record ( exer_num) , If insertion is executed successfully ,and updates failed for the corresponding exernum , I need to rollback the inserted record .

thanks for your response. No these three DML statements would be executed inside my procedure. We can not run it in different session. the reason is
as i said, completion of these 3 DML statements , then only will conisdered as a successful transaction else i need to roll back .
also this will be called in a Batch JOB. we have a commit for whole transaction.
Lets these are all the possibilites :
1) INSERT FAILED ( ROW 1 )
2) INSERT SUCCESS (ROW 2 )
1st UPDATE Failed
3) INSERT SUCCESS ( ROW 3 )
1st UPDATE SUCCESS
2nd UPDATE D FAILED
4) INSERT SUCCESS ( ROW 4)
UPDATE SUCCESS
UPDATE SUCCESS
Now for these scenario none of three statements got executed successfully . So if it fail between any of the statements , I need to rollback that particular row.
Hope you understand the problem well now.
Now can anyone suggest me that How can i handle this exception and need to keep going my transaction even if it fails in between.
Objective over this problem is :
Need to rollback Failed rows.
Need to keep continue the Program , need to commit successful rows.

During R12.1.1 upgrade from 11.5.10.2 adworker for patch u6678700.drv fails for afopp002.sql
The exact error being faced is

Let me walk you through briefly regarding the upgrade process:
Initially the existing instance was 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.6 database.Last year the database was upgraded to 11.2.0.1 and configured with 11.5.10.2
However the 11g database upgrade steps specifically for EBS 11i(interoperatibility notes for 11i with 11g database) was not followed properly.
And one of the major key issue identified was the 11g Example CD was not installed on top of 11g software during database upgrade.Which is the pre-req for 11g upgrade in EBS
And as per my experience it creates issues during R12 upgrade (patch u6678700) and giving errors pertaining to oracle text error.
SR was raised for the same and was suggested, since there is no other option kindly install the Oracle 11g software and on top of that 11g Example CD and map the 11g database and go ahead with the R12 upgrade.
Now coming back to the core issue being faced, Pre-req followed properly.No errors in alert logs.
Can missing the Example CD installtion be the issue?

Recommended patch 125541-02 fails to install

Patch 125541-02 fails to install. When it is running patchadd perhaps, it complains that the dependency package SUNWthunderbird is not present. I am not inclined to search and add support for it unless it is necessary. I tried it five different hosts running Solaris 10. The results are the same.

I had exactly the same results on a Sun Blade running Sol 10 11/06. The patch will not install using update manager, or with smpatch add -i, or from the manually downloaded patch using patchadd.
The following requested patches have packages not installed on the system
Package SUNWthunderbird from directory SUNWthunderbird in patch 125541-02 is not installed on the system. Changes for package SUNWthunderbird will not be applied to the system.

If the patch was applied and you can find it in AD_BUGS table, then no further action is required after implementing the solution in the docs referenced by AsifMuhammad
If the patch doesn't exist in AD_BUGS table then you need to apply it again.

Patch 124171-01 fails to install

Patch 124171-01 fails to install on an Ultra-80 and a V210 models. I installed it manually to get the message that the "SUNWscnbase-r" package is not installed so the patch is aborted.
The Ultra-80 runs Solaris 10 release 03/2005. The V210 runs Solaris 10 01/2006. I typically load everything in the installs so this patch should not have been recommended to them.

Provisioning & Patching - OEM Opatch failed

Trying to use the Provisioning & Patching deployment procedure through OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 Solaris 64bit using 10.2.0.4 repsoitory. Using patch oracle database and go through the steps. Then trying the analyze button which starts fine but when it reaches the Opatch upgrade step it fails with the following
"Error retrieving binary file pa_opatch_upgrade.pl" Files may not be accessible by OMS. Have checked that Software Library is setup correctly and both OMS can see the library. Using 2 OMS with load balancer in between.
If the Opatch option is not set, it goes through analyze fine, then try to deploy and goes through each step till "Startup database in normal mode" fails with similar error as above but different perl file name. Seems to be a problem with retrieving the perl files from the directives in the software library.
Has anyone experienced similar issues as there is very little info on metalink and google.

Following these instructions solved the problem for me, maybe they will help you.
Issue 3: On Linux AMD x86-64 on RHEL4 systems, if you run OPatch in -report mode, it detects the incorrect platform and then terminates with errors similar to the following:
Apply Session failed: ApplySession failed to prepare the system.
OPatch failed with error code 73
Workaround: Set the OPATCH_PLATFORM_ID environment variable to point to the AMD64 Linux platform, whose ID is 226. For example:
export OPATCH_PLATFORM_ID=226
Then re-run OPatch in -report mode, for example:
opatch apply -report
Or
opatch rollback -report

9.2.0.3 patch set installation fails on Solaris 8

i've installed Oracle9iR2 (64-bit) client on a Solaris 8 system and i'm now having problems installing the 9.2.0.3 patch set. during the installation process i get the following error message from OUI:

$ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk
i checked the installation log and then $ORACLE_HOME/install/make.log. make.log reports that the failing command is:
/usr/ccs/bin/make -f ins_net_client.mk install ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle9i/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
this command fails when trying to link trcroute. the link command seems to have incorrect paths as it seems to expect to find crt?.o files from $ORACLE_HOME/lib/WS6U1 while they are located in $ORACLE_HOME/lib/WS6U2/lib/v9. i modified $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/env_network.mk (CCVER, COMPOBJ) so that crt?.o can be found.
after this change the same link command fails with this message:
ld: fatal: file $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/s0nur.o:
wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to trcroute
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `trcroute'
i checked the object files in network/lib and they all seem to be ELF 32-bit.
does someone know what's causing these problems with the installation and how to fix it?

that's what i started to suspect as well. it's quite likely that the patch is for 32-bit installations. i'll try it with the 64-bit patch. thanks.

SRM-MDM 3.0 SP10 Patch 1 - logon failed

Hello there,
we have a urgend problem after upgrading the SRM-MDM Components and the MDM Server.
Problem is, that we are not able to logon to the app ui or the search ui. It's not a Problem with the user. When logon to the app ui we receive the message "logon failed".
Connection to the Repository via MDM Clients works very well. Only the Web UI is not accessable.
To be sure we are having the right SPs for the Components we downloaded the latest Support Stack that includes all components versions that fits to each other (thats what i think).
At least we have now
MDM Server SP06
MDM Catalog SP10 Patch 1
Java API SP10 Patch 0
MDM Connector SP10 Patch 7 (?)
