Not sure if this is relevant or not - but the user account OLAPSYS was in a 'EXPIRED/LOCKED status. I unlocked the account - but not sure what password to use to set it to.
I also have an SR open for this - but not expecting any replies until Monday. :(

  • Worker fails when running MSDODPCODE.sql causing ORA-33290 and ORA-06512

    Hi All,
    Hopefully somebody can help / point me in the right direction. I'm testing the process of upgrading our R12.0.5 Financials (Database 10.2.0.4) to R12.1.3 and have hit a problem when applying the 12.1.1 Maintenance Pack.
    The worker has failed with the following in it's log file.
    "sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/u01/app/applmgr/CGSYSTST/apps/apps_st/appl/msd/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/MSDODPCODE.sql

    It might be worth noting that I also hit the same problem when testing RUP 6 for R12.0.6 - it was partially because of this that I decided to scrap going to 12.0.6 1st and go straight to R12.1.3 - making it a much bigger upgrade.
    Thanks

  • How to skip EGO product before applying patch 9239090 (12.1.3)

    Hi All,
    i am applying patch 9239090 (12.1.3) on my system OUL5x64 EBS 12.1.1 db:11.1.0.7
    when upgraded to 12.1.1, got error on EGO product and i had to skipped this product because we do not have it installed and now upgrade to 12.1.3 got the same error on this product.and had to skip this product again.
    here is the error:

    ORA-06512: at line 408
    question:How can i disable this product before applying the patch 9239090 so the upgrade process can continue un-interrupted.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    is there any ways that i can do it before apply the patch 9239090 so the process will not require user interact. we patch the system at night and if it fails, we will waste few hours till the morning before it can continue running again.The only way would be commenting the line in the patch driver which initiates EGOSILDU.sql script (if possible), but this is not supported by Oracle Support.
    Thanks,

  • Patch 3480000 install - Failed worker because of GL locking

    I am in the process of installing Patch 3480000 (11.5.10.2) and during the running workers fail on sql scripts under the GL schema. Checking the log they are failing because the account is locked(timed), however if I unlock it and run again it locks the account again.
    All the other ones have been running as they should (I have had to reset a couple from EXPIRED(GRACE) to proceed however). Is the password saved incorrectly somewhere? If I change it does that hose things up for everything else or is there something else I can check for this?
    (glxlatxd.sql & glqtposd.sql are the two failing if it matters)
    Thanks
    Edited by: Toolman21 on Jan 22, 2010 3:30 PM

    If I drop the sequence and create it again with the higher values as they are trying to alter it to, I assume that would fix it however I also assume that it would mess up some number or something somewhere in the program which is of course bad.
    I have continued to search metalink and the internet and can not find anything relating to oracle patches and that error or that error and oracle app sever in general.
    I have logged an SR with Oracle but any advice that you (or anyone) have would be appreciated.
    This is the more complete error text
    The sequence PV_SEARCH_ATTR_VALUES_S in the database is defined as:
    MINVALUE = 1 MAXVALUE = 2000000000 INCREMENT BY = 1
    CYCLE = NO ORDER = NO CACHE = 20
    which should be defined as:
    MINVALUE = 10000 MAXVALUE = 2000000000 INCREMENT BY = 1
    CYCLE = YES ORDER = NO CACHE = 1000
    +(Note: The cache value for sequence PV_SEARCH_ATTR_VALUES_S is 100000 in the ODF file. The value 1000 is being used instead because this provides better performance when selecting from the sequence.)+
    Alter the sequence with :
    Start time for statement below is: Mon Jan 25 2010 14:47:32

    Downloaded VDI 3.4.1 for Solaris, checked md5 OK against download page, attempted a freash installation rather than upgrade and it failed at applying the Sun Ray patch.

    I check the log file and its failing to install patch 149156-01, looking at the patch log there is a message about attempting to install the same architecture and version of a package which is already installed, then a message from checkinstall "........<full patch to check install>/checkinstall: cannot open"
    So has anyone else actually downloaded and installed Oracle VDI 3.4.1 on Solaris 10 u9 x86 successfully?
    Paul

    OK went back to Oracle VDI 3.3.2 and it was still a problem on this machine. Turns out I made /software where the media is installed a ZFS partition with a quota of 5g (which hasn't hit a limit, its used less than 1g).
    So the real question is why Oracle VDI won't install from a ZFS partition?
    # This works fine!
    mkdir /software
    mkdir /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    cp vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip /software
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    unzip -q ../vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64/vda_3.3.2_solaris_amd64
    ./vda-install
    # This Fails !
    zfs create -o mountpoint=/software -o quota=5g rpool/software
    mkdir /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    cp vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip /software
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    unzip -q ../vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64/vda_3.3.2_solaris_amd64
    ./vda-install
    Root is a ZFS partition and unzip -q works fine (I summed all files in both structures and they are the same). There is something in the vda-install that breaks due to it being a separate ZFS partition.

    Were you able to find a solution to this issue? I am having the same problem, different patch. I have 8 failed workers, all with the same error. Different jar files. I can only think that I have some issue with java on my server.

  • During R12 upgrade adworker for patch u6678700.drv fails for afopp002.sql

    Hi Experts,
    During R12.1.1 upgrade from 11.5.10.2 adworker for patch u6678700.drv fails for afopp002.sql
    The exact error being faced is
    sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/u03/oracle/CRP1PROD/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/afopp002.sql &un_fnd &pw_fnd
    Connected.
    declare
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-20000: Oracle Error Mkr1= -24018 - ORA-24018: STOP_QUEUE on
    APPLSYS.FND_CP_GSM_OPP_AQ failed, outstanding transactions found
    ORA-06512: at line 15
    I even tried restarting the worker,bounced the database and even tried running u03/oracle/CRP1PROD/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/afopp002.sql manually which hangs for indefinitely.
    Any suggestion.

    Hi Srini,
    Let me walk you through briefly regarding the upgrade process:
    Initially the existing instance was 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.6 database.Last year the database was upgraded to 11.2.0.1 and configured with 11.5.10.2
    However the 11g database upgrade steps specifically for EBS 11i(interoperatibility notes for 11i with 11g database) was not followed properly.
    And one of the major key issue identified was the 11g Example CD was not installed on top of 11g software during database upgrade.Which is the pre-req for 11g upgrade in EBS
    And as per my experience it creates issues during R12 upgrade (patch u6678700) and giving errors pertaining to oracle text error.
    SR was raised for the same and was suggested, since there is no other option kindly install the Oracle 11g software and on top of that 11g Example CD and map the 11g database and go ahead with the R12 upgrade.
    Now coming back to the core issue being faced, Pre-req followed properly.No errors in alert logs.
    Can missing the Example CD installtion be the issue?
    Regards,
    Aman Vats

  • Instance failed after applying patch

    i am learning on ides. i applied patch #10 to my system, some how it failed to apply, now my instance is not starting up , is there any way to undo the patch. thanks for the reply

    Hi,
    Usually instance startup is nothing to take with the Patches applied specially in ABAP kind of system. If your Patch implementation is in middle, So you must be getting lots lots of dump...But system should come up in most of cases.
    Ok...Now...have you changed something related to Parameters (Memory, DB related or any other parameters)...because parameters change is something very crucial when your system is not coming up?
    Please post some more inforrmation so that we can help you out.....Please try to debug step wise...
    1) is DB is coming up?
    2) if yes, please post some relevent info from dev_disp, dev_w0 or dev_ms file or from some other files which are getting updated when you are trying to restart your system.
    With Regards,

  • Pkgadd failed when applying the patch cluster

    Hi,
    When I apply the patch cluster to servers that have been jumpstarted to Sol10U3 and U4, I am getting a package add failure. The only way around this is to add install user in passwd:
    install:x:0:1:installpatch:/root:/bin/true
    Is there something that needs to be configured to avoid this or is the install user required?
    Thanks

    See the Solaris FAQ:
    http://www.science.uva.nl/pub/solaris/solaris2.html#q5.59
    5.59) Patch installation often fails with "checkinstall" errors.
    When installing a patch, the Solaris 2.5+ patch installation procedure will execute the script "checkinstall" with uid nobody.
    If any of the patch files or if any part of the path leading up to the patch directory cannot be read by nobody, an error similar to the following will appear:
    patchadd .                    # or ./installpatch .
    Generating list of files to be patched...
    Verifying sufficient filesystem capacity (exhaustive method) ...
    Installing patch packages...
    pkgadd: ERROR: checkinstall script did not complete successfully
    You can workaround this in two ways, one is to make sure that the user "nobody" can read all patch files and execute a "pwd" in the patch directory or add an account "install" to /etc/passwd:
         install:x:0:1:installpatch braindamage:/:/bin/true
    Installpatch and patchadd use "nobody" as a fallback if it cannot find the "install" user.

  • Patch 9239090 - ORA-04021: timeout occurred while waiting to lock object

    Hello Guys,
    I need help urgently to comlete an upgrade of ebs 12.1.1 to 12.1.3.
    We are upgrading ebs 11i to 12i going live this weekend. We have encountered "ORA-04021: timeout occurred while waiting to lock object" on patch 9239090 with two Workers:
    In adctrl:
    1 Run AutoPatch R120 AFUTLGRS.pls FAILED
    2 Run AutoPatch R120 AFUTLOGS.pls FAILED
    sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/u02/applfinp/apps/apps_st/appl/admin/OFPROD/out/p001invok.sql
    Connected.
    create or replace package wf_bes_cleanup AUTHID CURRENT_USER as
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-04021: timeout occurred while waiting to lock object
    I have done everything everything imaginable but cannot get pass these 2 failed workers.
    1) I have checked are there are no locks blocking on any objects:
    select s1.username || '@' || s1.machine
    || ' ( SID=' || s1.sid || ' ) is blocking '
    || s2.username || '@' || s2.machine || ' ( SID=' || s2.sid || ' ) ' AS blocking_status
    from v$lock l1, v$session s1, v$lock l2, v$session s2
    where s1.sid=l1.sid and s2.sid=l2.sid
    and l1.BLOCK=1 and l2.request > 0
    and l1.id1 = l2.id1
    and l2.id2 = l2.id2 ;
    2) I also checked and there is space in the database.
    3) From adctrl, I have tried restarting the jobs one by one but the worker 1 hangs at and eventually fails on several (12) attempts.
    4) The solution on Doc ID 1291064.1 is not the problem:
    SQL> select SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_MIN, SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_PK, SUPPLEMENTAL_LOG_DATA_UI, FORCE_LOGGING
    from v$database;
    SUPPLEME SUP SUP FOR
    NO NO NO NO
    5) Manual execution still gave ORA-04021:
    sqlplus -s APPS/apps @/u02/applfinp/apps/apps_st/appl/admin/OFPROD/out/p001invok.sql
    sqlplus -s APPS/apps @/u02/applfinp/apps/apps_st/appl/admin/OFPROD/out/p002invok.sql
    6) The alert log has no related errors
    7) I Finally, after over 6 hours of waiting, I could only get the patch to continue after by using adctrl option 8 to skip these two workers.
    After proceeding, I have yet hit two more errors and now stuck:
    I have hit another error with the same patch:
    create or replace package body FND_LOG as
    /* $Header: AFUTLOGB.pls 120 ...
    AD Worker error:

    Hi Hussein thanks for you help.
    I open the SR. and this corresponds to the cn module (Oracle Incentive Compensation). I'm not using it.
    This can be verified by running the @$AD_TOP/sql/adutconf.sql with apps squema.
    output:

    I skip this with the 8 option in the adctrl.
