Path to server
Hi,
I have a bean in wich I want to read a file that's on the root of my server, how can I get the path to it?
thanks [
You could try using ServletContext.getRealPath:
public java.lang.String getRealPath(java.lang.String path)
Returns a String containing the real path for a given virtual path. For example, the path "/index.html" returns the absolute file path on the server's filesystem would be served by a request for "http://host/contextPath/index.html", where contextPath is the context path of this ServletContext.
The real path returned will be in a form appropriate to the computer and operating system on which the servlet container is running, including the proper path separators. This method returns null if the servlet container cannot translate the virtual path to a real path for any reason (such as when the content is being made available from a .war archive).

Mac Network : Path to server folders is not the same for all my iMacs users
Dear,
My company is using 10 iMac with OS 10.8.5 and 1 Mac mini with OS 10.8.5 server. For 7 iMacs, my applescripts works very well because the path to the shared folders on the server are logical. I mean : Volumes/Sharedfolder/folderA/folderAA ...
But on 3 iMacs, the path becomes Volumes/Sharedfolder-3/folderA/folderAA … This -3 does not change after restarting the mac. Each of the 3 iMac have another number : -2 -4 and -3.
Do you have an idea of how I can solve this issue please ?
My server works well with AFP and SMB.
Best RegardsHi,
Many thanks. Below the result :

Sharing file paths on server via email
Basic question,
using either Entourage or Mail.app is it possible to provide a hyperlink to a document located on a leopard server share?
thanksHello,
Yes, this can be done using a copy path application. I did not like the ones i saw on the internet, so I had one of our programmers write a custom one for us. We drop it as a custom button on the finder toolbar of the window, and users select the file and hit the buttton, which copies the path to the clipboard. They then paste it to an email. Below is an example of what the path looks like in email... That is an AFP URL that Mac can read when connected to an AFP fileserver. If you really need it, I can share this handy little app with you.
file:///Volumes/Werkshare/fla_test.fla -
Hi all
I have a wcs installed with Every thing functioning properly.I am trying to see the path on which the floor plan get stored in the server.
I would like to know that "is it possible to take the floorplan from the server" or "where is the image get stored in the server while uploading maps".
I had seen in webnms-->Map image folder. But the folder is empty.
Regards
DanishHi Danish:
The maps are stored under /webnms/webacs/images/domainmaps
When WCS is stopped, yes, it would be possible to copy/paste those files from that directory to some other, but I wouldn't recommend removing them or doing this while WCS is live.

Sharepoint 2013 Does not open files using UNC path from Server
Hi All,
Just setup our new 2013 sharepoint intranet site , I tried adding a hyperlink to a document stored on our server using a UNC path file://servername/share/filename.doc but when i click on it it takes me to a blank Webpage in a new tab.
I have turned on "open client applications" in the site collection features hoping that would help ....buuuuuut it did not.
Also tried variations in the UNC path eg: \\servername\share\filename.doc etc..
Any help would be greatly appreciated
ThanksOpen start run > type > file://servername/share/filename.doc Does this works

Actually the problem I described is an Internet Explorer issue and I will try to get resolution in the appropriate forum. IE exhibits the described behavior whether the link is in a Sharepoint site page, or in a regular non-Sharepoint web page.
Mozilla does not have the issue.

Terminal Server profiles path between Server 2008
My existing Citrix farm has published desktops on Server 2008 x86 SP1, and the new farm I'm building is based on Server 2008 R2 x64. I can't get the x64 servers to use the same path as the x86 servers, despite having the same GPO's.
Both have the same GPO linked: under Computer Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Remote Desktop Session Host/Profiles, the path is set to \\server\share\%username%.
When a user who doesn't have a profile logs in to a Server 2008 x86 server, after they log out their profile is uploaded to the share as \\server\share\username.V2. When a user logs into Server 2008 R2, it doesn't pull their username.V2 profile and instead
creates a new one as \\server\share\username\username.domain.V2.
Please help me get the x64 R2 servers to use the existing TS profiles.Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Set up RD Session Host roaming profile path
Roaming profiles should be configured separately for each RD session farm. They should not be shared between farms or user’s physical desktops since profile corruption and data loss may occur if a user is simultaneously logged into two machines that load the
same user profile.
Configure the following Group Policy on the RD Session Host:
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Profiles ->
Set path for Remote Desktop Services Roaming Profiles
Kindly go through beneath article for information.

Hi,
Im using PS3 Webcenter Portal Application, I would like to know where the war files will be deployed in the server. In PS2 application it can be found under temp directory, but in PS3 application im unable to find the same. Please let me where the WAR files will be deployed.Your domain (from the war file), under WebLogic Server, will be under a path similar to <your Middleware home>/user_projects/domains/<your domain name>.
That does not mean your war file lives there - it can live anywhere, because as part of the deployment process, you browse/navigate to where the file lives. If you are using autodeploy, then file lives in autodeploy directory of the admin server. -
hi!
does anyone can tell me how to get the absolute path of the server from a
virtual path
thax
I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but in case I do, here goes. If you're ssh'd into another machine, you're using that machine. Dragging something from your local finder into a terminal ssh session, if I'm not mistaken, hopelessly munges the path. The ssh session puts you on the other client. Trying to figure out what happens when you drag a file from your local finder to a terminal session on a remote host starts to make my head hurt. I think typing the entire path, or just navigation to the right directory would be the best bet. You can do this on multiple clients through ARD, and I imagine you could script the process as well (already posted).

hi Everyone,
I've just downloaded Tomcat 4.0 Servlet/JSP Container (jakarta-tomcat-4.0-20020404).
My book says to have the
-javax.servlet and
-javax.servlet.http
pachages in my path. How can I have them in my path?
Where are these packages located?
And one more thing I have to include the server_root/lib/servlet.jar somewhere in my path.
In this downloaded servlet container I don't have lib folder.
I've found lib folder only in common, server and shared directories.
In the server_root directory I have only:
- bin, common, conf, logs, server, shared, temp, webapps and work directories.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
TuciHi Tuci,
server_root/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes folder. The ROOT is the above refers to the name of your application. Sometimes called the context root. If you look in the webapps directory you'll see directories like:
manager
tomcat-docs
webdav
etc
These are web applications. If you examine their directories you'll see a common pattern
WEB-INF
lib
classes
Create a set of directories in webapps, name the top one 'myapp' or whatever, then create the three directories as shown above under myapp.
With tomcat you can deploy without creating a war, you just have to know where to put your application objects.
Put your class files in myapp/WEB-INF/classes
Put any external libraries that your application uses in myapp/WEB-IND/lib
Put your jsp and html files in 'myapp'.
Tomcat will automatically detect changes to jsp, html and class files, so you can simply copy new stuff in while tomcat is running. Configuration changes to server.xml and you applications web.xml require tomcat to be stopped and started.
There are documentation installed with Tomcat that should give you all the information you need.

Contribute changing relative path for server-side include
I am using Contribute CS3, version 4.1, and my pages crash
every time a send a draft for review, because Contribute is
rewriting a relative URL in a server-side include.
The server-side include (before I send for review) reads:
<!--#include file="../foo/bar.fileextention"-->
After I edit other portions of the page and send the draft
for review, it reads:
<!--#include file="http:
//www.servername.com/foo/bar.fileextension"-->
Which results in the draft being unreadable.
Is there any way to tell Contribute not to monkey with this
URL? I have hunted, read the forums, checked the knowledge base,
and coming up empy.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!! I really
appreciate it!
-NicholasAnswering my own question.
I researched this complete forum and with taking ideas from
different posts, I was able to figure this out. I thought I would
post it for anyone else needing to know the answer in one place:
Include tags must read:
<!--#include virtual="includes/fileName.html"-->
(Include file is NOT a real HTML doc -- no tags in file
except for CSS, as it would be used if not using Contribute.)
No reference to .dwt needed nor Template created.
No Edit instance tags needed anywhere.
Contribute user navigates to page:
[Upper right corner] Click Choose...
[In my structure] User opens includes folder (double clicks)
User selects THE file (clicks OK)
User clicks on Edit Page button
(Text is now editable.)
User edits text.
User clicks on Publish button.
Worked for me several times trying.

How can I get the server absolute path of virtual directory?
Problem context:
absolute path of my application at JRUN server is

I m uploading a file nd saving it at server.

while I want to save it at directory

How can I achieve this???
waiting for quick reply..
KasPakhere is a function for which u said,
protected void readAndSaveFile(MultipartInputStreamHandler in,
String boundary,
String filename,
String contentType) throws IOException
A utility method that reads a single part of the multipart request that represents a file, and saves the file to the given directory. A subclass can override this method for a better optimized or differently behaved implementation.
again saving a file, or uploading a file is no problem,
but saving a file at our desired location,
nd this can only be done if we know reall/absolute path of our application at server,
i-e we need an API which can tells the absolute path of our application.
e.g
our application url is http://kaspak/testcode
we need its absolute mapping to directory on server
e.g it it is at c:\testcode
if we get the absolute path then we can pass it in above function or in File class constructor.
isn't it??
I think in this way i can save file at other location.
But how i can get absolute path?????
thanks for ur reply,
nd waiting for ur reply again.
