Payload size limit and message transmission failures.

I am receiving data feed from external third party using one-way messaging pattern through 'Oracle Service Bus' ---->'Web Service' --> 'Mediator' ---> 'DBAdapter'. We are carrying out tests to verify the number of messages sent by third party which should matches with messages received by us.
However, during a 48 hr test the number of messages received was close to 400000 messages. There is a mismatch of 60 messages which fail transmission at the senders end and strikingly all the 60 messages are larger size than the normal ones. They are upto 65KB to 78KB. I was wondering if SOA or OSB applies some default filter on size that causes the messages not to come through. Nomral ones are 2 to 11KB.
Also, the payload of the messages contains lists, i.e. contains a simple data structure. I went through some Oracle SOA Suite documentation but could not find anything specific to relate to these message failures. Is there any filters active due to the default configuration of the product that I am not aware of.
Please suggest.
Thanks

  • Setting a Default Organisation Message Size Limit and a Higher Limit on an Individual Mailbox

Ok.  So here's the problem.  I've read all the articles on setting message size limits for Organisation, Transport Send Connectors, Transport Receive Connectors, setting precedence, etc., but they don't detail how to solve this problem.
One person in our organisation is to get a raised message size limit for sending and receiving internally and externally.  I've already set up limits on the Organisation Transport Global Settings, Send Connectors, Receive Connectors, etc.  So,
as this individual requires a higher limit, I've raised the limits on their mailbox, and the aforementioned connector settings, etc., except the
Organisation Configuration / Hub Transport / Global Settings / Transport Settings / Maximum Receive
and Send Sizes.  The theory is that I can keep these two values at the original lower setting as these are overridden by the individual's new, higher, mailbox settings, but they will continue to act as the default for other existing mailboxes
and newly created mailboxes.  Right ?  Wrong!  For the individual's mailbox, this will only raise the limit for messages sent internally (not to or from external email addresses).
Now, I could change all existing mailboxes to have the old default lower limit using a PowerShell / EMS command, but this wouldn't work either.  Newly created mailboxes will still default to the new larger limit.  Most of our mailbox creation is
scripted, though some are created manually.  I don't want to alter the script and inform the admins as this is too much work and admins will forget about the new limits.  TBH, I'll probably forget about the new limits.  That's just a messy inefficient
approach.  What I want is to set a new default for message size limits, with the original low limits.  I.e., a setting that applies to existing mailboxes with no explicit message size limits set, and also newly created mailboxes, but not any mailbox
with an explicitly specified higher message size limit.  Any mailbox with explicitly specified higher limits should be able to send larger messages both internally
and externally.  Can anyone help ?  Like I said, I've already read the articles so I don't need links to these thanks.  I'm more looking to people who have done this kind of thing already.
BTW, we are using Exchange 2007 SP3.  It has a mailbox server Single Copy Cluster (SCC) with two nodes.  It also has two Client Access / Hub Transport servers.  Just so you know ;-)

    Hi huddie71,
    Thank you for your question.
I've raised the limits on their mailbox, and the aforementioned connector settings, etc.,
except the Organization Configuration / Hub Transport / Global Settings / Transport Settings / Maximum Receive and Send Sizes.
By my understand, we could modify the global settings by the following path:
Organization Configuration / Hub Transport / Global Settings / Transport Settings / Maximum Receive and Send Sizes.
Because it will work on existed user and new user without explicit message size limits sets.
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim
Hi Jim-Xu.  That would result in everyone getting an increased limit.  I only want one person to have an increased limit.  See the 2nd paragraph in my original post.

  • Download size limit of message

Hi, before my iphone i was using wm5 device. when using activesync on my previous device, i could limit the size of the messages that were pushed to my phone (e.g. 0.5KB, 1KB, 2KB, headers only). Is there anyway i could do this on my iphone? it seems to download the full message once i click on an email along with some jpegs as well. i travel a lot and can't have my phone download the whole message or will have to pay astounding roaming charges. anybody?

So far, the tests are as follows:
    - I used 8 test emails, 4 with attachments and for with long messages
    - 2 msg with 60K, 2 with 120K, to with 240K and 2 with 540K (to break the 512k limit)
    Using WiFi:
    - Send the 8 emails from exchange, the attachment and the long message ones were treated exactly the same
    - The 6 smaller messages (60, 120 and 240K) were received completelly, but the 540K was received as just header
    Using 3G or EDGE
    - Send the 8 emails from exchange, the attachment and the long message ones were treated exactly the same
    - The 4 smaller messages (60, 120K) were received completelly, but the 240K and 540K were received as just header
Maybe this can help you calculate your data plan usage. I haven't found the size limit setting, but I'll keep investigating it.

  • Note size limit and slight work-around in Lyrics

I tried to reply to a older post, but since it's archived I wasn't able to so I'll simply reference it.
I followed the suggestions from the following post in order to fit more continuous viewable text on my iPod:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3412651#3412651
According to the post, since you can fit appx. 256 MB into ID3 tags (and only 4K in Notes), that you could create a short song only for the purpose of storing text in the Lyrics tab. I followed the suggestions and while I was able to fit a little more than twice as much text in the Lyric as I could the note, only a portion of the lyrics was actually viewable on the iPod.
Let me clarify. I could fit the ENTIRE text that I wanted (a text file 200K) into the Lyrics tab and could view all of it in iTunes, only a small portion was viewable on the iPod itself.
So, I was able to slightly work-around the note size limit, I wasn't able to expand it by as much as was suggested in the original post/thread.
Does anyone have any ideas? Obviously, I can't get back to the original posters personally (Chris CA, b noir, and chanyiwai), so hopefully some of them will see this thread.
Has anyone else found a better work-around?

The ID3 tag can be 256MB but how that tag is implemented by Apple in iTunes, I don't know.
Haven't heard of any other workarounds for more text.
Really though, the iPod is not designed for documents/texts.

  • Message Transmission Failure

Problem Description: When a PO is created and released output message is created. More often then not it is message status is green which indicates successful transmission of message. However this green status only means successful transmission to Fax server (In case of fax output). But if it fails to send fax to vendor after multiple redails this is not communicated back to the buyer.
Failure notices are being communicated to SAP and can be seen in BASIS. But this is not further communicated to the buyer.
My question: Is there any standard configuration which will communicate this failure to the buyer? Or a custom program has to be written by a developer for this communication? Is there any other solution to this which can be used?
Communication that I'm talking of would be an email to buyer in SAP inbox.

    Hi,
there is no standard SAP method of monitoring this.
The system assumes that the send was successful and it is the Fax software that should be issuing warnings when a send fails, not SAP
This is a bit outside my experience but I am pretty sure that you have to rely on error logs etc. from the fax transmission software, there is no standard link back to SAP to transmit a warning email.

  • Ironport size limit exceeded message

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help, we have a limit on the size of emails allowed to be sent out as per normal and when users exceed this limit they receive an email response which appears to be generated by one of our exchange servers, should they be receiving an email from the Ironport itself also? I'm asking because the response generated by the exchange server is self-explanatory to ourselves but not to the average user.
    Regards,
    Ross

If the limit is set on Exchange as well as the Ironport, the user will get a message from whichever box encounters the message first... in this case Exchange, which will bounce it back to the user.. the Ironport never sees the message.
If you want it bounce at the ironport, you have to remove or increase the limit on Exchange...

  • Received error message that message could not be sent due to domain's size limit

Sent messages come back saying the domain's size limit causes messages to be undeliverable. How can I fix this?

Folling your instructions, settings same as ISP's, I did manage to send and receive One test message yesterday.
Trying this morning all attempts are complete failures; with requests to "enter new password". A password which has not been changed.
Just now attempted to send a test message three times; receiving the same request for a new password then some how forcing the issue I received the following:
"An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: pacmmta54.windstream.net pacmmta54 4.7.1 - Connection Refused - 72.168.134.151 - Too many connections."
By the way, I've (using the package manager) have completely un-installed and then then reinstall "Thunderbird".
An interesting note; I should have had NO orginal settings or have retained any incoming email messages, correct?, but I did and infact click on the link of your original reply. This message is not being sent from in side Thunderbird, but from Mozilla support web page. Thank you for your assistance.

  • Message size limit

    Hi all,
I have a question regarding the message size for the mapping:
What is the size limit for messages when using the XSLT mapping methods?
What are the maximum message sizes (if any) for the other methods like ABAP mapping, Graphical mapping, JAVA Mapping and XSLT Mapping (JAVA) ?
Looking foward to hear from you:)

    Hi Markus,
Just go through the belwo thread which talks about the same.
Wat is the maximu size of data XI can handle
Also go through the mapping performance which helps u in understanding the performance as well.

  • Message transmission through esb fails

    Hi All,
I have a scenario, where in i am trying to put a message into the JMS File based Queues. The message is successfully read by the JMS Adapter in esb and it tries to call the bpel process. when it is trying to do so, i am getting the following error message.
    <operationQName>JCIAsyncRtrSystem.Soap_CallingADP.initiate</operationQName>
<errorMessage>An unhandled exception has been thrown in the ESB system. The exception reported is: "org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message transmission failure, response code: 500........</errorMessage>
Any pointers to resolve the above error would be greatly helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you had this working in the past? if so have there been any recent changes?
What I would do is deinstall the ESB and redeploy it. It looks like there is some issue connection to the BPEL process.
It is also recommended to use the fastpath and not web services, have a look at the following link

  • Office 2010 downloads too much stuff to users' roaming profiles, making it go over the 30MB size limit

Hey, we recently rolled out to Office 2010 at my workplace.
On the student segment we've activated the 30MB roaming profile size limit, and we've found that a bunch of students have had trouble with this now because Office 2010 seems to download around 8MB of files to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\LiveContent, which
occasionally makes the profile go over the 30MB size limit.
Is there any easy way to prevent this LiveContent from being downloaded?? Anything I can set in the installation transformation file, or preferably with a registry setting or something?

You had mentioned a policy to disable synchronization of the LiveContent folders.
I think it would be this GP admin template setting, it's what we use for this kind of requirement:
    File Name: UserProfiles.admx
Policy Setting Name: Exclude directories in roaming profile
    Scope: User
    Policy Path: System\User Profiles
    Registry Information: HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System!ExcludeProfileDirs
Supported On: At least Windows 2000
Help Text: This policy setting lets you exclude folders that are normally included in the user's profile.
As a result, these folders do not need to be stored by the network server on which the profile resides and do not follow users to other computers.
Note: When excluding content from the profile you should try to exclude the narrowest set of data that will address your needs.
For example, if there is one application with data that should not be roamed then add only that application's specific folder under the AppData\Roaming folder rather than all of the AppData\Roaming folder to the exclusion list.By default, the Appdata\Local
and Appdata\LocalLow folders and all their subfolders such as the History, Temp, and Temporary Internet Files folders are excluded from the user's roaming profile. In operating systems earlier than Microsoft Windows Vista, only the History, Local Settings,
Temp, and Temporary Internet Files folders are excluded from the user's roaming profile by default. If you enable this policy setting, you can exclude additional folders. If you disable this policy setting or do not configure it, only the default folders are
    excluded.
Note: You cannot use this policy setting to include the default folders in a roaming user profile.

  • Problem sending message, temporary size limit of server

I get this message when I try to send mail with attachments of less than 365 KB. "The size of the message you are trying to send exceeds a temporary size limit of the server. The message was not sent; try to reduce the message size or wait some time and try again. The server responded: 4.1.1...temporary failure." This just started happening. I've e-mailed files with much larger attachments and never had an issue. I tried e-mailing smaller attachments with the same results. I also tried waiting until the next business day hoping that the issue would resolve itself to no avail.
    Please Help!

The error message is coming from your email providers server. What do they say when you ask them what is wrong with their equipment?

    Hi,
To know the size of the input message , i hope we have one option , after copying the test payload from the SXMB_MONI into Message mapping test -- click on test
after come back to design tab in message mappign
click on left side root node and Press CTRL+SHIFT + mouse right click and click on trace -- you can see the size of the message payload.
    In SXMB_MONI..
    see the payload messges

  • Messaging server size limit

    Hallo
As I see, I have common problem among the Sun Messaging Server administrators. I have whole system distributed on several virtual solaris machines and some days ago emerged message size problem. I noticed it in relation with incoming mail. When I create new user, he or she can't get larger mail then 300K. Sender get will known message:
This message is larger than the current system limit or the recipient's mailbox is full. Create a shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again.
<server.domain.com #5.3.4 smtp;552 5.3.4 a message size of 302 kilobytes exceeds the size limit of 300 kilobytes computed for this transaction>
Interesting thin is, that this problem arised with no correlation with other actions. I noticed this problem with new users before, but i could successful manage it with different service packs. Now this method with new users, this method doesn't work! Old users normally recieve messages bigger then 300k, as before.
I tried to set default setting blocklimit 2000 in imta.cnf, but I didn't succeed.
I know, that size limit can be set on different places, but is there a simple way, to set sending and recieving message size unlimited?
    Messaging server version is:
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7u2-7.02 64bit (built Apr 16 2009)*
    libimta.so 7u2-7.02 64bit (built 03:03:02, Apr 16 2009)*
    Using /opt/sun/comms/messaging64/config/imta.cnf (compiled)*
    SunOS mailstore 5.10 Generic_138888-01 sun4v sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise-T5120*

For the sake of correctness, the attribute name in LDAP is mailMsgMaxBlocks.
I also stumbled upon this - the values like 300 blocks or 7000 blocks are set in (sample) service packages but are not advertised in Delegated Admin web-interface. When packages are assigned, these values are copied into each user's LDAP entry as well, and can not be seen or changed in web-interface.
And then mail users get "weird" errors like:
550 5.2.3 user limit of 7000 kilobytes on message size exceeded: [email protected]
    or
550 5.2.3 user limit of 300 kilobytes on message size exceeded: [email protected]
    resulting in
    <[email protected]>... User unknown
    or
552 5.3.4 a message size of 7003 kilobytes exceeds the size limit of 7000 kilobytes computed for this transaction
    or
552 5.3.4 a message size of 302 kilobytes exceeds the size limit of 300 kilobytes computed for this transaction
    resulting in
    Service unavailable
I guess there are other similar error messages, but these two are most common.
I hope other people googling up the problem would get to this post too ;)
One solution is to replace the predefined service packages with several of your own, i.e. ldapadd entries like these (fix the dc=domain,dc=com part to suit your deployment, and both cn parts if you rename them), and restart the DA webcontainer:

  • Error 4.7.1 message exceeds size limit, but it doesnt

I am receiving this error every time I try to send a message.
The size of the message you are trying to send exceeds a temporary size limit of the server. The message was not sent; try to reduce the message size or wait some time and try again. The server responded: 4.7.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: [email protected] exceeded daily recipients threshold . See http://postmaster.frontiernet.net.
This happened randomly and without provocation. I have talked to my mail provider and they are telling me that it is an internal error. They have checked my connection settings and everything is set up properly. The messages i am sending are just test messages with one word in them.

Did your provider also tell you that mime encoded attachments are about 30% larger than the original file size of the attachment. So a 4Mb attachment would exceed a 5Mb limit.

  • Apple Mail  outgoing message exceeds ISP size limit?

A short e-mail with a 16MB attachment sent via Apple Mail was rejected because, at 21.9MB, it exceeded the 20MB limit from ISP Verizon.
Same e-mail and attachment sent from the same computer across the same ISP via G-mail had no problem.
Does Apple mail add 6MB of overhead to a message?
    How can I fix that?

If the attachment is a picture or equivalent, it may be being displayed as such in the body of the email message. This could increase the size of the message as sent.
If that is the kind of attachment, try right-clicking (or Control-clicking) on it in the New Message window; from the contextual menu that appears, select "View as Icon".
    Then test.
