  • Segregation of Cash application and application of on account AR payments

    Hi Friends,
We have a requirement to segregate cash application to customer accounts and application of on account payments from customer account. The requirement is coming from Internal audit. They want a process where a group of users can apply payments to the customers , they can apply payment directly to invloice if they know it. But if they don't know the same, they can post on account to the customer. Another group of users (collectors) can call up customer and find for which invoice, the payment needs to be applied and can clear on account payment to an invoice. In FI module, application of payment to customer can be done by using TR code F-28 and account clearing can be done using Tr code F-04/F-32. These two functions can be segregated by restricting access of F-28 to only cash application group. But if the collector wants, he/she can post to cash account using Tr code F-32/F-04 also. SAP does allow to enter any GL Account in clearing Tr codes also so it does not seem possible to segregate these two functions just by restricting access to Tr code F-28. Restricting access of collectors to all GL Accounts may not work as they may have to post exchange rate gain/loss which are GL Accounts.  Has anyone dealt with such situation and how was it solved? Any suggestion would be helpful.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Automatic SAP Cash Application- for ACH incoming payments

    Dear experts,
We have requirement to automatically apply cash for the ACH incoming customer payments. We have been using LOCKBOX for automatic cash application for Check incoming payments. Now we want to implement automatic cash application for incoming ACH payments as well. What are available best options? Can we do this through EBS?
    Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tina

    Hi Tina
I suggest to use a different GL code for incoming ACH payments and set this up using BAI codes from your banks EBS file. I believe you are not running EBS statement upload or manual load currently. Identify all the bank transactions and their related BAI codes with the help from your bank.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I encountered an error in the Payment Wizard screen as I was creating an Outgoing Payment for petty cash expenses. On the “Recommendation Report” screen, I clicked “Non-Included Trans.” and saw that one of the vendors (Vendor Code: WILCO) has the following error:
“The document amount is greater than the max. amount allowed in the payment methods linked to the BP”
Upon checking, the “PCF-W” Payment Method linked to WILCO does not have any restrictions, nor does WILCO have any credit/commitment limit set. I have also appropriately defined the Dummy Business Partner Bank (under Payment Terms) as well as checked the “Included” box for PCF-W on the Payment Run-Payment Methods screen.
Could anyone please help me on this?

PS - have found other posts indicating that clips smaller than 2s or sometimes 5s, or "short files" can cause this. Modern style editing often uses short takes ! Good grief I cannot believe Apple. Well I deleted a half a dozen short sections and can export, but now of course the video is a ruined piiece of junk and I need to re-do the whole thing, the sound etc. which is basically taking as much time as the original. And each time I re-do it I risk again this lovely error -50 and again trying to figure out what thing bugs it via trial and error instead of a REASONABLE ERROR MESSAGE POINTING TO THE CLIP IT CAN'T PROCESS. What a mess. I HATE this iMovie application - full of BUGS BUGS BUGS which Apple will not fix obviously, since I had this product for a few years and see just hundreds of hits on Google about this error with disappointed users. Such junk I cannot believe I paid money for it and Apple does not support it with fixes !!!
If anyone knows of a GOOD reasonably priced video editing program NOT from APPLE I am still looking for suggestions. I want to do more video in future, but obviously NOT with iMovie !!!

  • Lockbox / Payment advice and cash discount

    Hello
I am using lockbox (EDI 823) to apply cash to customers. It happens that customers don't take cash discount or just take a partial cash discount. I have implemented exits in program RFBELB20 for other controls and invoice indentification.
When the transaction processed, the payment should be applied to the invoice. However, when it is posted by SAP, cash discount is selected and payment is rejected because the overall payment difference is too big.
In F-28, I can either deactivate the cash discount, or force the cash discount amount, either to zero or to a value less than the maximum cash discount allowed.
In the table AVIP (payment advice detail), I have the fields WSKTO and XAKTS that, I supposed would allow me to do the same as in F-28. But it is not working. I may not fill AVIP with the correct data.
How should I process this ? I can't imagine SAP does not allow this.
    Regards

    Any ideas ?

  • Payment Difference Configuration - Accounts Receivable

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I have the following configuration set for payment differences.
-OBA3: Customer / vendor tolerance: Amount: 5.00, Percent: 99.9%, Adjust discount by 1.00
    - OBA4: Tolerances for Users: Amount: 10.00, Percent: 10%, Cash Discnt Adj.to 10.00
    - OBXL: Reason Code 01, GL account 600010
With these settings, in F-28 (post incoming payment transaction), I was able to clear a $100,000 customer invoice with a posting of just $50, with the residual item created using reason code 01.
    The posting I get is
    Cash -                                 Dr 50
Expense Account 600010 (maintained in OBXL)                               DR 99,950
    Customer u2013                               Cr 100,000
Looks like the tolerance group setting is not working. It should not allow me to post a payment difference more than $5, as per the above setting. Can anyone let me know what is wrong with the settings? Should I look at anything else?
    Thanks,
    Ram

    I have this question too.

  • Difference between Cash Counter and Cash Journal

    Hi All,
Please tell me what is the difference between Cash Counters, Cash Journal And Cash Book.
How can we use all of these in SAP FI?
    Please revert asap.
    Thank You

    Dear Verma
    Cash Journal
The cash journal is a subledger of Bank Accounting. It is used to manage a company's cash transactions. The system automatically calculates and displays the opening and closing balances, and the receipts and payments totals. You can run several cash journals for each company code. You can also carry out postings to G/L accounts, as well as vendor and customer accounts.
To my knowledge there is nothing called Cash Book and Cash Counters in SAP. If this helps please reward with points.
    Best Regards

  • Payment difference

    Dear Guru's
I need a help from you.
I am trying to do the payment differnce, but it is now happening automatically when I am doing F-53. It is asking me to give the GL Account mannually rather that taking the payment difference to a seperate GL Account which I have assigne. The scenario is as follow.
We have liability to a vendor for 1002 but the payment what we intend to make is only 1000 the balance we wanted automatically go to the payment different GL which already assined.
In this regards I would like to know :-
    a. How the entry need to be passed in F-53.
    b. Is there any other setting which I need to do apart from assigning GL account for payment differnce in SPRO.
Please help me sort out this.
    Thanks in advance
    Deepak

    Hello Deepak AR,
For automatic posting, when posting documents, the system automatically adds line items to manually entered items as needed. For example, the tax amount, the cash discount amount, and profits or losses from foreign currency translations (exchange rate differences) can all be calculated and posted automatically by the system. You can decide that accounts to which these automatic postings are made can only be posted to automatically. This will prevent any manual postings to such an account. A definition like this would be useful for tax accounts, if, for example, you had no subsequent tax debit to post.
For each automatic posting, you must define the G/L account to which the system is to post and the rules according to which the system generates the posting. For example, you can differentiate the tax posting according to tax codes. The system will then post to a different G/L account for each tax code.
You can manually add to automatic postings. If you want to do this, you must select the Supplement auto. postings field in the master record of the account to which the system posts automatically. The field status group in the G/L account master record determines the fields that the system offers for supplementary account assignment.
From your explanation, it seems you have not defined the rule for posting. Please go and check in SPRO Financial Accountin-> Account Receivable and Payable->Business Trasaction->Outgoing Payment->Automatic posting.
Hope I had been able to help you. Please assign points..

  • Cross - company cash application for Accounts recievables

Kindly let me know how to conduct an cross company cash application. Which transaction will best accomplish this .
I have set - up the cross - company clearing account between the 2 companies.
    Thanks in advance.

If I am not wrong, your company code A receives payment from customer and you want to clear the customer open item in company code B.  If you have done the cross-company code clearing between these two company codes using T Code OBYA, then all you have to do is make the following posting in company code A.
    Dr. Cash/Bank $100 (in company code A)
Cr. Customer $100 (in company code B)
System will automatically generate the following postings.
    Dr. Cash/Bank $100 (in CoCd A)
Cr. Clearing with CoCd B $100 (in CoCd A)
Dr. Clearing with CoCd A $ 100 (in CoCd B)
Cr. Customer $100 (in CoCd B)
Clearing accounts are what you specify in OBYA.

  • Automating AR cash application

    Hi,
Currently all of our AR is handled manually and we are planning to automate AR cash application. We are in a situation where some of our customers send their payments referencing an invoice number and a large portion of our customers do not have an invoice number while sending their payments to the bank. Can we use lockbox functionality in SAP to auto apply the payments when we do not have an invoice number from the customer? Can we basically match on customer number and amount while applying the payments automatically?

does anybody have an answer for the query above. I think it can be cleared through a matching criteria with customer having open-items. we can set the matching criteria in ob74. What i have a question is about how to configure auto-cash clearing and is there a different parameter to clear it in f.13. Thanks.

  • Permitting Payment Differences ???(in tolerances for employees)

    Hello,
    Good morning
While defining parameters in ‘Permitting payment differences’ in Tolerance specification for employees, what is the meaning of ‘Cash discount adjusted to’. Is this block (payment diff) related to line items of customer and vendor transactions or for GL accounts?? I need a complete clarity on this concept.
    Thanking you,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh
At the time of clearing the payments received from the customers, the system checks the payment differences and corrects with the cash discount posting as long as the cash discount amount is large enough for the adjustment.  The value you specify here is used for differences that represent a gain/loss.

  • DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CASH JOURNAL AND F-02

    Dear All,
Kindly let me know the difference between Cash Journal and F-02
    Best Regards,
    S Balasubramanian
Moderator: Please, read basic SAP material

    Hi S Balasubramanian,
Any transactionn which is related directly with Cash is done in Cash journal(Petty Cash).
Example:Cash withdrawal from Bank,Cash deposit in Bank, Vendor payment in Cash, Customer payment in cash, small expense payment in cash, revenue through cash.
Using cash journal we can identify the exact cash receipts and cash payment and cash balance.
Regarding F-02, This transaction is used to do general ledger posting.
Using this transaction we can do General ledger posting, customer invoice, customer payment, vendor invoice, vendor payment,
we can post any transaction using F-02  and combination of the posting keys.

  • Can I use TNSI Payment gateway in iOS application for making product purchases of Pizza for one of our major client.

    Hello Sir/Madam,
I am representing my company to ask this quest, your quick response is much appreicated.
We are making an application for one of our client for Pizza and food product purchased and advertisements. We are trying to implement a payment gateway so users can make purchases using their credit cards. Our client have used TNSI payment gateway on website however we are not sure whether we can use the same TNSI payment service in iOS Application.
Would you please confirm with us whether apple have an approval for using this Gateway service inside the app. Please let us know ASAP so we can make the integration for completing the app.
Also it would be real great if we are suggested some approved and valid payment gateways apple have approved for the apps submitted over appstore as this would help us to use the same services firmly wihtout the appstore rejection issue.

Thanks for you kind reply in advance.

What is the appstore rejection issue? It is best not to pay too much attention to what you read on internet media outlets as they are typically full of lies.
Food is the easy part. You cannot use Apple's payment systems for physical products. You must do that yourself using whatever system you have. Advertising is trickier. You talked about pizza and food and then slipped in that little tidbit. Why?
The bottom line is that the only people who get their apps rejected are people trying to scam either Apple or Apple's users. Sadly, not enough of them get rejected. You know if you are trying to scam someone or not. If so, then your chances of rejection are higher. When in doubt, consult Apple's In-App Purchase guidelines.
