Paypal authorization

Hello, my name is Scott and I recently purchased an Microsoft - Xbox One Console Assassin's Creed: Unity Bundle and the best buy website gives me an error saying "We're sorry, we were unable to obtain a PayPal authorization for your payment at this time. Please use another form of payment to proceed with your order. We're sorry. We didn't get PayPal's authorization for your payment. Please use another form of payment." I looked at my paypal and the payment has already been authorized and I even got an email from paypal that I had submitted an order to bestbuy in the amount of $377.99, can someone please help me with my problem.

Hello borncuban67,
I’m sure you are super excited to order and receive your Microsoft – Xbox One Console Assassin’s Creed: Unity Bundle. I imagine you were pretty disappointed to encounter an error stating that we couldn’t authorize your PayPal account, and apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused you.
Ordinarily we only authorize funds when an order is placed, and do not typically collect the funds until an item ships. Should an item not ship, the authorization should expire and funds should be returned to the customer. Depending on your financial institution, an authorization may or may not leave the funds unavailable.
That being said, if you encounter an error that causes the order not to be placed but the funds to be authorized anyway, once the authorization expires the funds should be returned to you in 3-5 business days, but this time frame may vary depending on your financial institution.
Using the email address you registered with the forum, I was unable to locate an order for your Xbox One. That being said, I would like to look further into this with you and am sending you a private message. You may check your private messages by signing into the forum and clicking the envelope icon in the top right corner of the page.
Sincerely,

  • Problems with paypal authorization

I am out of itunes cards and simply want to designate my paypal account to buy music.  Everytime I try - it has me resign in with apple --->directs me to paypal -----> I accept terms and authorize---->I am redirected to download itunes on the apple site.  I redownloaded, restarted computer and it just keeps going in an infinite loop on the situation I just described.  I even tried to jump right into my own account info and the loop continues.  I'm frustrated.... any suggestions?  I am in the US

Almost certainly a case of typically unhelful and wrong error message by ADE.
    try:
    Open ADE.
In Library view, enter ctrl-shift-D (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).  That should clear the implicit/anonymous ID it generated when you installed and ran 'without' ID.
    Restart ADE.
You should now be able to register with your correct ID.

  • Insert PayPal button: need PayPal authorization?...

As I continue working on this website builder of mine, I'm
now planning on adding an "insert PayPal
    Buy now button" function.
It's working already. But I'm wondering if I need PayPal's
    authorization to do that.
I notice for example that the Dreawmeaver extension by
webAssist to insert a PayPal button inserts a
hidden field identifying webassist as the button generator,
    for PayPal to track.
I know there are some webassist people sometimes on this
forum, do you know if I need to be
"authorized" by PayPal to have this in my website builder?...

sorry I guess my question was not clear: I'm going to sell a
website builder that enables people to
insert a PayPal button in their site. I already know how to
do it. My question is, do I need an
authorization from PayPal, in order to do that.

  • Payment through paypal on Blackberry App World

    Hi All,
Im using my playbook to buy an apps on the Blackberry App World but does not succeed. I have the message Payment entcountered with Paypal authorization.
I have used Paypal for other online purchases and its fine. I'd called the Paypal hel centre, and they told me I suppose to get some kind of authorization from Seller for them to activate the preapprove payment.
    Anyone? Please help!

    I had the same problem.
I had to update my payment information in PayPal (expiration date of my credit card not valid) to correct the problem.

  • Error ID 30252 when trying to purchase apps (both paypal and credit card)

On PlayBook AppWorld, when trying to purchase an app, I get the following error:
"There is a problem with your credit card authorization. Please try again or visit BlackBerry World Support for more information. (Error Id: 30252)"
I'm 200% sure my credit card details are correct - I have used it several times today and know there is plenty of credit available on it. Have tried entering the card 3 times now.
I have also tried PayPal, and I got through to authorizing with my paypal password and have recieved the "You have signed up for preapproved payments" email from PayPal. I guess getting that email means I definitely did enter my password correctly. But it gives me a "Problem encountered with PayPal authorization. (Error: 30252)"
So, same error code with both credit card and paypal. Serching the knowledgebase for 30252 yields zero results. Help??

I've got the same issue using three different credit cards. Help!

  • Playbook Paypal Error: 0

I'm getting this error when I try to buy apps on AppWorld using PayPal:
Problem encountered with PayPal authorization. (Error:0)
How can I fix this? I can buy using credit card but I would rather keep using Paypal. My PayPal account is working fine, even when I select PayPal again from the "Payment Options" menu on AppWorld, it validates my credentials correctly.
    Please help.
    Cheers!

You will need to contact support for this error.

  • Old card declined, new card "not eligible to purchase and other probs

Yesterday I was able to purchase an iTunes email gift cert through iTunes successfully. For the next gift certs, I decided to change the debit card linked to my iTunes account. But when I went to purchase again, I got this message:
+"This account is not currently eligible to purchase gift certificates+
+You can purchase iTunes Gift Cards from a variety of retail locations."+
I tried to go back and change the account settings to the original debit card and that card was "declined." Suffice it to say both cards are in good order and I'm able to use both of them elsewhere, there's plenty of money in there, etc.
Lastly, I tried to use PayPal which is also legit, well-funded, etc. and if I try to set that up, I am successfully directed to a browser to login to PayPal, authorize it to make purchases on iTunes with a "Billing Agreement" and go through the procedure of the browser launching iTunes with the requisite warnings. PayPal is then selected but to continue I get a message that PayPal +"is not set up with an instant payment method such as a debit card."+ If I click continue, I am sent BACK to PayPal to authenticate and authorize the account AGAIN in an endless loop.
I see other people having trouble with purchases and chimed in on another topic. Sounds like holiday shopping is crashing iTunes or something.

I waz able to purchase a gift card just now, but on the second attempt met up with the same message. Is there some block on purchasing more than 1 gift card at a time in a session or from an IP??
I wish, considering how much business Apple is doing, there was an 800# to handle these concerns or online chat. Many other digital-centric business have soemthing like that.

  • Why can't I authorize paypal for iTunes store with american express

Can not make a payment using paypal after canceling the agreement in paypal by accident. iTunes is not allowing me to create a new agreement with paypal and giving me this error message when I try: You may not use American Express to fund this payment. Please add a different type of card or use a bank account."!!!
There is a balance in the paypal account, and as I understand it the problem is that Apple (iTunes) does not want to create the agreement while the backup to the backup funding method is American Express!!! PLEASE HELP ME PAY YOU.

Sorry, but Paypal is not available as a purchase option in the Netherlands nor, to the best of my knowledge, anywhere other than the US. Why this is, no one here knows or can say.

  • Can't get paypal to work?  This may help.

Well, 24 hours after my 32 GB ipod touch purchase, I am not an apple fan. I had a very typical experience, I have windows 7 32bit on a Dell XPS laptop M1530, I downloaded a fresh version of iTunes (9.2.1.5), I upgraded the ipod to newest version (iOS4). Why did I spend so much time getting this stuff to work? I did get it to work, but support was useless and blamed microsoft (in fact I didn't do all the steps correctly).
Anyway a few things I figured out. Before you begin, you need a valid paypal account. You also need internet explorer. This doesn't work on Chrome for whatever reason. You can go to start menu -> Default programs to change web requests to open up IE instead of chrome (then just change it back when you are done with paypal activation).
Also, you need to have activated the computer for use with itunes. Why that's not done when you install is a mystery. From the menu bar at the very top of itunes, go to the store menu, and select 'activate my computer'. Note, you can only have 5 active computers, but you can deactivate all of them. The only way to deactivate individual computers is to have them connected to the network and with itunes, and just go store -> deactivate computer. If the computer is not activated the process will also fail when paypal redirects back to the itunes app.
Next, create/update your itunes account. When you get to the payment options, you select paypal. That launches a web browser. Again, chrome didn't work for me. You go through the paypal logins. When you are done you should get two warning messages, one to display only secure or all content (hit 'no'). The other warning mentions that you are launching an app from a web browser. Click allow (or yes or whatever).
The process should bring you back to itunes purchase setup. Scroll down to the bottom, hit 'done'. To verify, I log out and log back in again, and look up your account info. It should have paypal. Note, once you get this set up, you don't really have to screw with it again I think.
The other tidbit I have is that once you download the apps (click the price tag on the app) you need to sync your ipod. If you click on your ipod on the left menu, then click on apps, select all and click apply on bottom right of screen. That should work.

Also, you need to have activated the computer for use with itunes. Why that's not done when you install is a mystery.
Because you don't need an iTunes account tio use or install iTunes.
You cannot authorize the computer until you have an account because that's what you are authorizing.
Note, you can only have 5 active computers, but you can deactivate all of them.
You can have 5 computers authorized at any one time. You can only select Deauthorize all when you do hae 5 authorized and you can only do it one time per year.
    Next, create/update your itunes account.
Again you cannot "activate" (which is authorize) unless you have an iTunes account. So you cannot authorize iTunes and then create an iTunes account.

  • My web form is not working with PayPal

Only seamless gateways such as the "Pro" version of PayPal, eWay or Authorize.net will work with form payments. Gateways that have the user leave BC, such as PayPal Standard, Google Checkout or Realex, only work with the online store.

    I did further testing:
    1. I turned off the IPN and I still received the Error page.
    2. Than I went and turned off the Payment Data Transfer, and now I got the blank page... /PaymentProcess.aspx?paypal=success. However, I still got the paypal transaction ID attached to the orders.
    3. I turned on the IPN and still got the blank  /PaymentProcess.aspx?paypal=success and I still got the paypal transaction ID attached to the orders. So the conclusion is that IPN has no bearing on payments made with PayPal Standard when it is used with custom forms.
    4. I chaged the URL in the Return URL to go to the secure home page instea of to /PaymentProcess.aspx. and...it still sent me to the PaymentProcess.aspx and I still got the paypal transaction ID attached to the orders.
    5. I made the purchase using shoping cart to ensure it works too and this time I even received the receipt on the /PaymentProcess.aspx. The Ref# and Auth Code were "Not Applicable" but it still worked and it was recorded in the orders with the paypal transaction ID
    So my conclusions are:
    1. IPN has no bearing on PayPal payments made from the custom web form
    2. Payment Data Transfer being on sends to the pafe that can't be processesd and it renders Error message
    3. Return URL always send you to the PaymentProcess/aspx regardless what secure url you put in there.
    4. Transcation ID is always passed to the orders as long as it can connect to PayPal. I guess ur will do it as long as the Payment Gateway has the proper informration in there.
    5. It works the same from the custom web form and from checkout form.
I hope this sheds some light and serves some purpose to whoever is completely confused by this as I am.
Mario and Liam, thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

  • Send paypal subscription amount to new recipient instead of old recipient

We need to create web app, we want paypal account holder to authorize web app to send money from paypay holder account on behalf of paypal account holder. Using this way how we can send subscription amount to new recipient instead of old one. Because one of my client saying that this paypal stuff has been implemented in https://www.jvzoo.com/, Here user can give app authorization to pay to any paypal account essentailly authorization is for app to pay monthly $X .
For example in jvzoo.com , make vendor account set subscription for 1 day for $0.01 then pay from other paypal account that $0.01 then switch vendor paypal account (must not be same and the one from which you pay) and you will get money to 2nd (new) vendor account
I need your help and guidence for implement the above paypal stuff in my website.

Try rebuilding that account's inbox. Select the specific account's inbox, then on the menubar, under Mailbox, choose Rebuild (at the very bottom). If you have more than one email account, you will have to expand the inbox to show the individual email accounts' inboxes.
You may want to first copy your Library's Mail and Mail Download folders to your Desktop, and the file com.apple.mail.plist from your Library's Preferences folder. That way, if something unexpected happens, you can just move those copies back into their original locations and all will be as it was.

  • Paypal authorized or not?

I recently put in an order online for a desktop computer and proceded to check out with Paypal. There was an error and the website stated that it "failed to authorize payment". However, I recieved a confirmation email from PayPal stating that the payment was pending and also included a Best Buy order number. The order does not seem to exist on the Best Buy website and just a few minutes ago I was notified that the desktop I 'purchased' has been sold out. I would like to know if the order does exist and if not, assistance in removing the substantial payment for a non-existant computer.

    Hi there fosler53,
Ordering a new computer is always exciting! While I dread my MacBook Pro seeing its final days (hopefully in the not-so-near future), I’m sure I’ll enjoy picking out a new device. I’m sorry to hear that you may have had trouble placing an order for a desktop computer utilizing your PayPal account. Unfortunately, I was unable to locate an order using the email address you registered with the forum.
That being said, typically we authorize funds to ensure the funds are available, but do not actually collect them until the order ships. As it seems your order may not have processed through our systems, the authorization should be dropped in 3-5 business days depending on your financial institution, which will in turn return the funds to you. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
If you utilized a different email address than the one you registered with the forum, please feel welcome to provide the correct email address to me via private message, which you may do via the link below in my signature.
Please let me know if you should have any other concerns or inquiries! Also, please feel welcome to review our Conditions of Use page on BestBuy.com!

  • Paypal pending payment

Yesterday i ordered a tv from bestbuy.com, On bestbuy.com it doesn't show the order, But paypal shows a pending payment. After i made the order it also didn't remove the order from my cart. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Tyler457,
The purchase of a brand-new TV is by no means a small investment, so I can imagine why you'd be concerned! I'd be puzzled too if an item remained in my cart after checkout, especially if the order couldn't be found in my account history.
I've had the chance to review your account, but I wasn't able to locate an order placed on the 22nd. With that in mind, chances are the amount you're seeing on your PayPal account is simply a temporary authorization and not an actual charge. These holds are typically removed from customer accounts automatically within a few business days, but the exact timeframe required varies by financial institution. I was also able to locate an order from yesterday (9/24/2014) which has shipped. if you haven't already done so, I'd encourage you to check your inbox and junk mail folders for a confirmation notice with shipping information.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Poor Customer service unauth charges iTunes over Paypal

I just thought I would share this exchange with the community. Do yourself a favor and remove your billing method from iTunes. You can expect this treatment when it occurs. Not only does it say that iTunes takes no responsibility for your account being insecure, it also displays a singular lack of understanding on their customer service rep's part. Again, this transaction occured with Paypal as the method, not a credit card. I've since changed all my information.

    Dear ****,
It’s Abhi here again and I hope this message finds you doing well.
I completely understand your frustration with the unauthorized purchases that were made with your iTunes Store account.
Dealing with unauthorized purchases is not something Apple takes lightly. I'm sorry that I can't resolve this for you myself, but under the circumstances the iTunes Store can't reverse the charges for those purchases without chargeback orders from your payment card issuer.
Please ask your card issuer to cancel the card, investigate the security of your account, and send chargeback orders to the iTunes Store. If you have any more questions about this, please don't hesitate to let me know.

    **** Abhi,
I have already changed the password. I would like to reactivate the account. However, this does not fix the fact that I had a 30 dollar illicit charge. This was done through paypal which my account was previously set up for and not a credit card - are you suggesting I contact them about refunding the money? I would expect that since the agreement is through your Apple that your company would cancel the gift certificate and refund the money. By the way... I have not put my iTunes information in any other account other than iTunes itself and purchases for giftcards cannot occur through anything other than iTunes with . I have no idea how someone could have gotten my information.

    Dear Shannon,
Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Support. My name is Abhi and I am glad to assist you today.
I understand that you are concerned about the unauthorized purchases that were charged to your credit card. I can certainly realize how disappointing it can be when something unusual happens like this and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
To prevent further purchasing, I have disabled your account and have disallowed your credit card from being used on the iTunes Store. Please note that you can enable your iTunes Store account in the future by providing specific information to iTunes Store support as described at the end of this email.
I urge you to contact your card issuer as soon as possible to inquire about canceling the card or account and removing the unauthorized transactions. You should also ask them to launch an investigation into the security of your account. Under the circumstances, the iTunes Store cannot reverse the charges for those purchases without your card issuer initiating the refund request.
I strongly recommend you change your account password immediately. Changing the password will help to prevent anyone else from using your iTunes Store account to place orders without your knowledge. To increase the security of your account I highly recommend that you follow the suggestions outlined in the following article:
iTunes Store: Best practices for protecting the security of your account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4156
If you suspect you are the victim of identity theft, consider following these recommendations:
    - Contact the fraud departments of any consumer reporting company to place a fraud alert on your credit report.
    - Close the accounts that you believe have been used without your knowledge.
If you would like your iTunes Store account to be enabled, please reply to this email with the following information:
    1) The billing address listed on the account, and
    2) One of the following:
    - the order number of your most recent purchase
    - the name of any item you've purchased using this account
I will use the information you provide to investigate the possibility of enabling your account. Please note this investigation could take several days.
Thank you for the patience and understanding. Have a great day!

I have had a similar issue with Customer service and am still trying to get it resolved. I had unauthed charges on one of my 2 iTunes accounts but it was credit left over from a redeemed gift card. I have no credit card attached to my account. I let iTunes know and they disabled the wrong account. After 2 weeks of emails with customer service it appears that I will be getting the money added back to my account. They said it would take 3 to 5 business days. The account that was disabled is still disabled with no updates from iTunes. From what I see in your post the responses I got are the same. They must be working from a script.
