PCMCIA is not working properly on Satellite Pro U200 with Vista

Hi I have upgraded to Vista home premium on U200 and so far almost everything is fine.
I do however have 2 issues relating to PCMCIA that are bugging me:
- Any PCMCIA card inserted causes the machine to slow down drastically and mouse movement etc becomes juddery. This is particularly bad if I insert a Toshiba PCMCIA hard drive or a card reader.
- I havea PCMCIA digital TV card for which I cannot find Vista drivers. It works fine with the XP drivers however i get awful screeching sounds and high pitched beeps for a minute or so every time I change channel. The card is a generic card from an OEM provider.
Any help appreciated.

Did you try to update the BIOS or change the settings in the BIOS?
The Pro u200 was delivered with Toshiba BIOS I hope
On the second BIOS page you could try to change the PC card controller mode. Maybe you will notice any improvements.
For Vista PCMCIA digital TV card driver you should ask the card manufacture or visit the support page sorry this is everything what I can suggest

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? If you did, did you use the Boot Camp Control icon to set up the trackpad how you want it?

Dial UP Modem is not working properly in Satellite A200-1GB

My A200 - 1 GB's modem is not working properly. It tries to connect but at last it says remote computer is not responding. As i noticed It has a "Agree" 56kpbs modem.
It shown as Toshiba Software Modem.
I tried so many times it doesn't work properly. I tried by changing the assigned COM ports to several other COM ports like COM1,COM10,COM 4 ext... same thing occurs.
When I diagnose the modem via the modem properties no matters found.
Same as when I'm dialing through the modem to a telephone (i mean as a call) it's working properly. I mean it can call to a mobile phone or land phone.
But the same phone line is working properly with my desktop modem as same as another HP laptop modem.
It seems there is some malfunction on my 56k modem.
I tried even uninstalling and reinstalling but still the matter exists.
Can anybody help me in this case?

ATI catalyst drivers not working properly in Mac Pro late 2013

Hi, I have a 6-core Mac Pro late 2013 with two D500 ATI graphics cards and installed Windows 8.1 Pro through bootcamp. I have installed the bootcamp drivers while in windows installation, however there is a problem opening the Fire Pro drivers (catalyst drivers). I get a message that says something like "there is no option to change so the software will not run". I also tried to download the ATI drivers directly from their site, but still get the same problem.
This poses a problem for me since I need windows for a specific lighting design software that I work with -Dialux-, and it uses Open GL, which doesn't seem to work in my configuration. Does anyone have any similar problem or solution?

Does the reader show up under USB in System Report?
If the reader is working properly both the reader and an inserted card will show up.

Keypad not working properly on Macbook pro

The key pad on my MacBook Pro does not work all the time and have had to resort to a separate mouse to be able to scroll etc.
Any advice please.

Does it now work only on battery? or using the power supply?
If only on the power supply use a grounded plug.
Otherwise try reseating touchpad cable. Post the size and year of your MBP.

Wi-fi not working in my satellite pro L450

In my laptop Fn+F8 key is not working in either way Wi-fi connection is missing, I had gone through all post regarding the same problem and tried all those things shared by experts to overcome this problem, but didn't go well..
i formatted my laptop to factory default settings, checked device manager, installed TVAP, etc.,.
I installed even flash cards also, all keys are displaying except F8...
in network adaptor i checked LAN driver, i found "realtek PCIe family controller" is working properly...
pls. help me how to turn ON Wi-Fi ......

Can you check the laptop's full model and part numbers from the label on the bottom? Don't include the serial number.
In the Start Menu's search field, type "Device Manager" and press ENTER. In the Device Manager, expand "Network adapters." What's listed there?

Touchpad is not working properly on Satellite L30-X10

I am not sure if this can be a good solution but maybe its worth to try it:
1. Download the latest touchpad software from here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
2. Remove the old software
3. Reinstall the downloaded software
4. Go into your mouse properties and check if everything is configured (especially the scroll function)
Give some feedback in case of further questions..

Scanner not working properly on Adobe Pro XI

Running Adobe Pro for Mac with OS X 10.9. After installing new Multifunction CANION MG5550 in my network. He is working perfectly as printer and scanner with CANON software.
When scanning from Adobe Pro, scanner is detected, overview scan is done but when real scan is executed and completed, Adobe shuts down. How can I solve this error?

Satellite Pro A200 with Vista doesn't see other XP notebook in the network

I have Satellite Pro A200 Toshiba and I have some problems with the network.
The Inernet is upp and going but I cant find the other computers in my network.
Im having 3 other computer in a network. The A200 is having Vista and the other one is having just XP-pro and XP-home.
The network by the tree standalone is working fine but the laptop is not present in the network.
I've have checked the workgroup so it the same.
Is there anyhone thats having any idea how or whats the problem?

Hi again. Ive discovered how to solve the problem! Its the Norton Internet security thats causes the problem.
Just open the program, right click at the icon down at right, click at "Norton Protection Center"
Click on the "Norton Internet Cecurity", Wirewall settings, Commin Settings, Common Rules, Configurate,
Scroll down to "Standard-Block filesharing in Windows" Mark and "Modify", Mark the option "Allow" Save and go!
If You have understand what Ive written it should be working, the thing is that I have Swedish versions of all the software
so it might be a littel hard to understand the translation that Ive done. Try to use it and look for the most likness of my poor English.

Mercury Transmit not working properly for Premiere Pro in Yosemite for me

Hi.
Since I am not in the middle of a big project I consciously updated the OS to Yosemite, and for me everything in I do in Premiere is working fine, except for Mercury Transmit when I have Mercury Playback Engine enabled for the project (It was working in Mavericks). When I do enable it I have a white screen in my second hdmi monitor and Premiere crashes. Whan I have it in software only it works, not very fluid and sometimes the media disconnects for a few seconds, sometimes there's a lag. I have macbook pro retina late 2013, Is it a problem with the Inter Iris graphics card? Will it work with a future update? Thanks for the feedback and keep up the great work!

Please make sure the default permission of this user’s Calendar is AvailabilityOnly and the user who can view the details of this calendar doesn’t have any permission to this mailbox and Calendar:
Get-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity UserA:\Calendar | FL
Get-MailboxPermission –Identity UserA | FL
If the permission is configured properly, please let all other users to view this user’s calendar in OWA or Outlook online mode to check whether they can view the details or not.

[Athlon64] CD / DVD not working properly, Neao K8T800 Pro series.

Hi all,
I purchased a MSI K8t Neo2 motherboard along with a AMD 64 3200+ (socket 939) in the beginning of May.
When i installed the parts in my case I experienced some problems getting windows (which I reinstalled) to detect all the Harddrives i had.
I solved this by putting 3 HDD's on one IDE interface, and 1 on a separate controllercard. on the other IDE interface i put my Sony DRU-700A DVD alone.
This worked, to a certain extent.. When I place a disc in the DVD, windows gets a hizziefit and starts to lag insanely, when it's finally done, it won't autostart the discs i put in, i can't double-click it from My Computer as i get the error:
"F:\
Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteprocessMemory request was completed."
Doesn't tell me much.. I then try ro right-click F: and select "exlore", AHA! this works. I get into the disc and i can move around in the foldertrees, but it takes time.. My GOD it takes time...
When i finally reach my destination and try to execute a .exe file, this happens:
"F:\ is not a valid win32 application".
At this point one starts to think: "ok.. i know that.. but the exe-file i tried to start IS..."
NOTE: From time to time i've noticed that it switched between these 2 error messages, i.e i get the "not valid" when trying to start the disc and the "ReadError" when starting a .exe-file, and vice versa.
I have the latest bios, i have tried adding a LG CD-R/W tp the process and tested if that worked, see results here: www.vikholm.se/say_what.gif
I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but i know that CAN'T be right?
I then went into the Device Manager and selected "uninstall" on my Sony DVD, thinking it has to find new hardware on reboot and reinstall it. Windows finds nothing, and i can't seem to get it back again..
Anyways, i noticed that 2 updates to my mobo was avaliable through MSI Live Update, so i choose the newer one and install it, thinking it might solve this problem.
Select reboot -> Click "exit now" on firefox.exe -> run for work as i', late -> come home now just to see that windows did NOT reboot as i got an error code from some exe-file.
Anyways, reboot properly this time and half-way through the boot up it reboots again, and at the loadingscreen where you can see the biosversion and such it says:
"Sec Master drive is not ATAPI compatible
F1 to Resume"
This is my LG CD-R/W. I press F1 and it boots just fine, and i see that my LG is no longer avaliable in My computer.
These are my problems.
To sum things up:
1. Could it be my mobo that is screwed up in the IDE interfaces?
2. Could it be my IDE cables? (i don't have any others to try with =( )
3. I've been in contact with Sony's support, accordign to their firmware testers and producttest programs, my device worked as it should.
4. Anyone have any tips on how to get my Sonydevice back to windows without reinstalling windows? It not, i'll just have to reinstall.
5. If all else failes, can anyone lend me a handgun so i can end my misery?
Thanks a million for reading and if you have the slightest idea of what might fix ANY of the problems stated above, do not hesitate to post. Please.

That clearly states the ability to get opticals connected. It is admitted, that there only SATA opticals are mentioned.

Own experiments show:
If an optical drive is connected to IDE3, the promise controller detects it correctly. If a bootable media is inserted, it is detected as bootable by the controller BIOS.
An old LD 8240 CD-Writer (only MWDMA2/PIO4 capable) works partly, if attached to IDE3, but there are errors. Playing Audio CDs and DAE generates drop-outs. CD burning results in corrupted data on the media.
If I connect a LG 4163B DVD-Writer, there are no issues concerning CD-playback or DAE. CD-recording was not tried out. The DVD-RAM feature fails, possibly due to driver interference.
This shows, that there at least a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive (PATA) might work on the promise controller, but that also depends on the drive itself.

DVD-RW drive not working properly on Satellite A40-702

This is on my Toshiba SA-40-702 Satellite lap top. It's five years old.
Hi, I have been looking at the threads for this problem and have not been able to spot a similar thread yet.
My dvd-rw WILL play a purchased audio music cd, and it will also work with the discs which were supplied with the laptop. S something is working OK......However, I have recently tried burning a music track (from i-tunes) and it showed up blank, but strangeley the cd did play the music track OK in a machine at work. I have now tried to view some other discs which I recorded on this laptop in january, and they now show as blank discs and I can't see their contents (they were text documents and photos). They were working before.
I have this weekend made many attempts to burn 30 photos, and I have tried two different makes of blank dvd discs, but although the laptop says "burning to disc" etc, when I try to view the burned disc, there is nothing on it !!!
I wonder if anyone has any suggestions please. I have tried to clean the little blue eye with a fine hair brush inside dvd drawer, so I expect the next step may be to just buy some newer discs ????

My personal opinion is; the drive cannot handle the burned mediums due to the stressed laser lens. Fact is that your notebook and the drive is more than 5 years old.
I dont know how the drive was used in the last years but due to the long time of usage its possible that the lens cannot read the data from the CDs/DVDs now.
This is not unusual. My brothers notebook cannot read the CDs/DVDs which were burned one year ago I presume its the same reason the drives laser lens issue
Hmm you dont have many possibilities you could try to burn these disks again with another notebook/computer and then could check if you can red the data.
The last option would be the drive replacement

One USB Port not Working Properly on MacBook Pro 3,1

I have an older macbook 3,1 running Mavericks OS and recently one of my left USB ports has not been:
1) able to eject external hard drives plugged into it (I have to force eject)-instead it gives me a message that one or more programs may be using it (even though I don't have any programs using it). The hard drive is being powered by USB has a 3.0 connection although this wasn't a problem in the past... I tried the other USB port and it can eject just fine from that port.
2)Intermittent communication with mouse.
Not sure if this is a hardware issue but when I try to run diagnostics on this laptop by holding down the "D" key at startup it doesn't take me to diagnostics. I no longer have the discs for this laptop (containing said hardware test) so I can't boot the diagnostics from that discs. In lieu of a hardware test I opened CONSOLE and did a search for USB and there were a couple of these messages:

Is this a logic board issue? Would rolling my OS back to pre-Mavericks work? The problem didn't emerge right when I updated to Mavericks however I have had luck changing OS stuff (updating or rolling back) with faulty USBs...
Here are other troubleshooting methods I have attempted with no success:
-Disk Utlity (repair disk and permissions)
-RESET PRAM NVRAM
-Remove battery
-RESET SMC
-Shut Down
-Run Disk Utility @ startup
I'd love to get access to a Hardware Test compatible with my macbook. The links I have found online are to incomplete files. If someone @ Apple could send some Hardware diagnostics tool my way via a disk image that would be perfect.

Did you boot into Recovery or try & run OS X Utilities, to attempt a test?
Depending on the computer, that may be your best bet, short of taking
the computer to an Apple Store with Genius bar; or to an AASP who is
trained in Apple repair & testing services.
A replacement of original install restore DVD with the correct AHT on
a bootable DVD, could be obtained by contacting Apple support or
the main online Apple sales, or applecare; there would be a fee.
They'd need to know the Serial Number and product info, and you'd
have to provide a form of payment in order to get replacement discs;
and if the computer is way too old, those may be harder to get now.
The main system tools could be installed in Recovery partition.
And Ms Sammit may have answered this.

Sleep mode not working properly on Macbook Pro

On my Macbook Pro everytime my mac enters sleep mode just the display goes to sleep never the system even after 8 hours. Checked the energy saver setting both display and computer are set to ten minutes. I can also never get the display to wake back up unless i do a hard reset. Any ideas? Thanks!

Digital Cinema Desktop not working properly on MacBook Pro 15"

I'm having trouble with Digital Cinema Desktop playback on the main LCD screen of my MacBook Pro 15". I have selected Digital Cinema Desktop Playback-Main under the View menu but when I press option+F12 I only get a still frame. If I press space, the audio plays but the video remains as a still frame. If I press the right arrow key and hold it down it will play real time or just frame advance each time I press that key quickly. I have also disable my screen saver as recommended in the FCP help document.
Any ideas where a hidden setting which will remedy this might be? Should I trash the preferences and reset things?

View > Video Playback > All Frames.
