PDA executable crashes when displaying chart
Here's a good one - when I run a program that displays a multiple plot chart on my IPAQ that has PocketPC 2003, it crashes when I hide the chart. This happened both when using a tab control and when using the Hide Control VI, but didn't happen when I used a single plot chart. I'm attaching an example VI (in LV 7.1) and the executable built from that VI.

While not directly related, here's another one - when hiding a non-visible control (like a control on a seperate page of the tab), the control isn't really hidden and can still be accessed. Also, when unhiding a control, it is immediately displayed on screen, even if it's on another page. I'm attaching an example. Regarding the chart matter, does anyone have a suggestion for displaying a multi-plot chart? The solutions which I don't like include displaying more than one chart and using a graph to simulate the chart. And for my last question - is there a way to display graphics with a color depth of more than 8 bits?
Try to take over the world!

My java launcher crashes when display SplashScreen with JDK7 on MacOSX
I'm writing a java launcher using JNI on MacOSX, to display a SplashScreen and AWT window. I have almost finished the program, that it runs with JDK6 successfully, but it will crash with JDK7 if SplashScreen shown.
I have posted my code and error message here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21021366/my-java-launcher-crashes-when-display-splashscreen-with-jdk7-on-macosx
Anyone can help me how to show SplashScreen correctly with JDK7 on MacOSX? Anyone can point it out where is wrong in my program?
You can download the program here:
http://www.playcoding.com/sites/playcoding/files/launchers.zip (the launcherV3)
The crash log is here: http://www.playcoding.com/sites/playcoding/files/hs_err_pid241.logThe server JIT compiler is crashing.
This could be an instance of bug 6332641, which will be fixed in 1.5.0_08. It has no known workaround, other than to exclude the method being compiled.
You may want to file a bug. -
Why do i get crashes when setting chart history length
I am trying to figure out how to get my chart to eat up less memory. At the moment it is capturing from 4 channels at 44100 samples/sec. It is a continuous capture and after a few minutes, the computer just runs out of memory and can no longer keep up with the capture, at which point the Vi quits. Opening up task manager, I noticed that as I capture, the memory gets chewed up really quickly, but when I stop my VI the used memory is not reclaimed. Even if I set the chart history to an empty array when the VI stops. I tried setting the chart history to a smaller number but whenever I set it below 512 the whole computer crashes.
I have seen similar problems. I created a simple VI to test this and am continously getting LabView crashes when I try and write an intensity chart history to an array.
First frame of the vi sequence generates a 100 random number array for the intensity chart display. The next frame in the sequence has the property node for chart history (of the intensity chart)set to read mode and it is wired to a two deminsional array.
So, I generate psuedo chart data and then try to recover the history into an array. It crashes every time. No matter where I set the chart history length. I attempted to do as you had previously suggested and store the data to a file. Same response.... Crashes LabView. Local and online help have not been very hel
pful. Will search the hardcopy literature now.
thanx

Labview 5.1 Executable crashes when I try to run it a second time
I created an executable from some labview 5.1 code I wrote. The code works fine when I run it under labview, but when I created an executable, the code crashes. I can run the code once and it will work fine, but when I try to run it again it crashes.
The coded basic function is to record data displayed on a network analyzer screen. I have the analyzer go into remote mode for data collection and back to local after data collection so changes can be made to the display. When I try running it again after changes were made, the executable crashes.
Has anyone experience this problem?I have run into this problem a couple of times for different (but similar) reasons.
One was that I used the VISA open and talked to the instrument, but did not CLOSE the VISA session. When trying to OPEN again (second time program is run), the program would crash.
I had the same problem with opening references once. It is supposed to close all references when the program ends, but I always close my sessions before exiting.
Look for OPEN without CLOSE in the program.
Hope this helps.

Mail crashes when displaying messages if GPGMail active.
Mail crashed regularly when displaying the message content.
I had to uninstall GPGTools (with GPGMail), then all was OK. I hope this can help!I just found a warning on the GPG Suite website (https://gpgtools.org/news) stating that the Yosemite upgrade of GPGMail will be paid only. There is a beta versione available for those who needs encryption. They also advice to uninstall GPGMail after Yosemite install.

Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 crashes when displaying pdf made from Word doc containing url text
Hello,
I and a few others in my workplace have a similar issue.
Acrobat crashes when they scroll through and view a pdf file that was created from Word. The Word document contains url text in its header to the effect of "visit us at www.blah.com ." They're running Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 and Office 2K Pro SR-1 on XP Pro SP2.
Even though the link is not an active link, (i.e. clicking on it does not open the web page), if I convert a document containing this header to PDF, Acrobat will not allow me to manipulate the file and will crash. When I take the same document and remove the web address, then convert from Word to PDF, I experience no problems with Acrobat (note that this is the identical file, but with the web address removed). This does not explain why Acrobat will work for awhile even with the web address in the header, then stop working. But it does appear to fix my problem with creating a PDF from Word, then manipulating it further.
Does anyone know how to allow for this text to exist in the header and still have a stable pdf file/acrobat behavior?
The pdf is attached.
Thanks....To sum up, I've found that if a url beginning with www is in the Word document and then created to pdf Adobe will crash when viewing that pdf. If it is deleted from the Word document before creating the pdf, Acrobat will not crash when viewing that pdf.

Crystal Reports XI R2 (11.5.8.826) crashes when modifying charts
I'm a very experienced Crystal Report designer. I'm working on a chart that is pulling in and summing a large number of records (380,000 +). As I have been working at attempting to make modifications to the chart, the program is crashing. A few examples of items that I've been working on modifying include font size for the x and y axis, scale for the axis, and other items of this type.
I've even attempted to dump the data and then make the changes in design mode. At times, it won't even display the menu I need in order to make modifications. I'll save the report often, but when I close the application altogether, it is often crashing. I've done thousands of reports of varying complexity, including many charts, but have never experienced this.
Any help?
Thanks!I agree with Debi also, likely a resource issue. Try closing all other programs to see if you get a little further along.
Only other option is to change your data source to use a Store Procedure and do all of the filtering and summing Server side and take the load off of CR to do all of this. client side... Servers are much more efficient at collecting Data than CR will ever be, that's what they do best.
Thank you

Flash player 11.6 crashes when displaying jpgs
I run a web application that uses Flash to display a plan of a magazine. In one mode, the user can choose to display jpgs thumbnails of each magazine page in their page holder. When this feature is turned on Flash crashes as it tries to display the jpgs.
Flash has been stable for 6 years with this application. The problem has occured with 11.6. I have uninstalled 11.6, reinstalled 11.5 and the problem goes away. It happens in all browsers. In Explorer and Firefox the screen goes white. In Chrome the browser freezes.

Very strange crash when displaying pdf tumbnails in iBooks 1.5
Hi,
Recently, I have experienced a very strange behavior in iBooks. The app opened normally and then, some seconds later, dispaly getts blak and the app closes abruptly.
I have traced back this behavior: It occurs just when the cover tumbnail of some pdf books is displayed in any iBooks' library view (both in bookshelf view and in Title view)
I removed the troubesome pdf, but found that some others ( wich worked fine fron a lot of time ago) produce just the same behavior.
When (using the painfully method of trial, and l, and trial again! And again,... ) i finally deleted all the crash - related pdf's, iBooks worked fine again.
The most intriging features related this behavior are: 1- It is related only with tumbnails. All the pdf are normally vieved using some other ipad psdf viever (such as Kdan Pdf Reader or Adobe Reader for ipad) 2- If yoy remove the cover as pdf first page ( even if you move such cover and put it as the second page, using software like pdf sam) the pdf works fine in iBooks.
I suppose this is a (annoying) bug, but,is there any suggestion? Is there any way to disable The tumbnail feature in iBooks?
Best regardsSomehow this bug came up on my radar yesterday later in the day: the first two comments indicate different plugins, and the third refers to the Acrobat plugin:
<blockquote>This seems to happen if Adobe Reader is used for displaying PDF documents (pdfjs.disabled set to true and Preferences > Applications > PDF to "Adobe Reader (in Firefox)").<br><br>Opening two tabs displaying PDFs and closing one crashes the other one.<br><br>Was able to reproduce with Firefox 36.0.1 and Adobe Reader plugin "Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10.32". When I tried to reproduce it later again in the same profile (or on Nightly and Beta), the tab didn't crash.</blockquote>

Sounds like your issue, but it's puzzling that they got a tab to crash and in your case only plugin-container.exe crashed. -

PDA app crashes when the IPAQ automatically powers down.
The program monitors the Bluetooth serial port fine but when the iPAQ hp2210 does an automatic power down and I power it back up (by pressing the ON/OFF button) the program is still on the screen and a dialog box comes up stating:
"ERROR... App failed. Error code 430368002. Unable to allocate memory."
What is funny is that I am using very little memory and the program is pretty small.

another serial test.llb 199 KBI tried do a simple loop with 100ms delay and did not have a problem going into suspend mode.
I have modified the original program to tack down the actual function that is causing the error. I found by commenting out the "Serial Port Read.vi" the error will not happen. This is weird because the only time the vi is called is when the there are bytes at the serial port which should be 0. I have added an error detection and an indicator to show bytes at port and both come back 0. This problem is very repeatable and also confusing.

Crash when second display attached
I'm using Aperture in this configuration:
Aperture 1.1.2
MacBook Pro 15" (with external monitor)
OS X 10.4.7
Aperture is randomly crashing when the second external display is enabled and Aperture is configured to use it. I can crash Aperture fairly easily, although the crashes are random. If the second display is enabled but not being used by Aperture, I do not have crashes.
Questions:
- Has anyone else seen this issue?
- How do I fix it?
Thanks
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.7)I am not experiencing crashes, but I am noticing interference on the monitors when Aperture is running using 2 monitor mode. As I move from picture to picture, or zoom in or out of pictures, I see small blue and red squares all over the screen ... as if something was writing to the video buffer. The problem does not manifest itself at any time when Aperture is not running.

Is Pcounter still part of NetWare/OES
I have been trying to find/read up on this. Does Novell still include "pcounter" or the same functionality in NW6.5/OES? Is there a replacement? If so, what is it and where can I get documentation? Thanks!! Tony ...
