PE 7-  Help with Filling Shapes

Having trouble with something pretty basic (I thought)...
How do I fill a shape (rectangle, circle, etc) that I create on a Title from the toolbar?
When I select one of the shape tools, I can create one in the Title area but I can't figure out how to fill it with color.
Tried COLOR PROPERTIES but FILL is not 'active'.
Appreciate some enlightenment on this.
Thanks!
John

My mistake... OOPS!
I selected a TITLE that must have had a transparent background (BLUENOTES_LWR_THIRD).
I usually start by selecting any TITLE then deleting the default graphics in it to create a black b/g.
From there, I make copies of the b/g and use those for my custom titles (Intro, end, etc.) which I add TEXT to.
Once I selected GENERIC1_TITLE, and deleted the default graphics, I was able to add RECTANGLE to it
and modify the fill color.
I know there's probably an easier/better way to create titles; just haven't had the time to 'explore' more.
Thanks for the quick reply!

  • Problem with filling shapes

    Hello, I am new at this flash stuff and I need some help with filling objects I have went through just about every tool and every function and watched tutorials online and I cannot seem to do this.
    As this picture shows I have drawn a red circle but did not release the mouse to complete it
    This is What happened when I release the mouse
    In this photo I have selected the paint can to fill the circle
    In this photo I have tried multiple attempts to fill the circle
    Nothing seems to be working I cannot fill the circle I have created I cannot change the color(green) of the paintbrush or the pencil. Could somone please help me?

    what tool did you use to draw that circle?

  • Help with fill, in shape tool?

    Hi
    InDesign CS 4.
    When I drag a new rectangle it always fills with a fade from left to right with a border line that fades as well. It's the same with elipses or polygons.
    Trying to change the fill, or the line color has no effect.
    I don't know how I got this turned on and I can't figure out how to turn is off.
    I'm in the middle of a job, I need to get this fixed.
    Thanks for the help
    Mike

    Hi
    Here is the image...
    As you can see it works fine if I open a new document.
    If I open any of the pages then the problem comes back.\
    So somehow what ever is happening is encoded into the documents.
    I also noticed that the shapes created are transparent.
    When I overlapped it with another box I could see it underneath.
    Well since it works fine in Windows 7 I'll just finish the job using it and hope that it doesn't happen on the next job.
    Weird that it works in Windows 7 and suddenly not in Windows 8.
    And if it's an error in the file why does it not open the same in 7.

  • Need Help with Filling in Created Object

    I'm trying to fill in this object with a solid color I created just using the arc tool. However,  what happens when I use the default fill and stroke tool is that it fills in the shape of the arc rather than just inside the object
    Can someone help me figure out how to fill in just inside the object? I have CS6. Thanks

    dknovice,
    In addition to what Doug said, your screenshot says that you have two paths meeting in the middle. You can just select them and Ctrl/Cmd+J (I think). In earlier versions you needed to Direct Select one set of coinciding end Anchor points (the top or bottom set (dragging over only them after having deselected everything), and then you could (normal) select the whole path and Ctrl/Cmd+J to join the other set.

  • I need help with the shape matching of this image

    I am currently using NI Vision Assisstant to help me with the logic for the VI code. So currently I have 3 diagonal rectangles and I cannot figure out how to find the shape of each of them. Attached is a screenshot of the image I have. I have it going through a Luminosity filter and then a frequency filter and then I converted it to a binary image... now I am at this point: If anyone could help me find the rectangles... that would be greatly appreciated. I am sorry for such a basic quesiton.
    Thank you,

    Hello Yousuf,
    There are quite a few functions that you might find useful for locating rectangles in a binarized image.  Possibilities include Shape Matching, Pattern Matching, Geometric Matching, Shape Detection, and more.  The difficulty that you will run into is the fact that your retangles are not straight edged, but are also not curved edges.  Many of the shape matching tools look for straight edges and right angles, which are not present in your image.  As such, it may be easiest to first use edge detecting tools to locate your edges, then use measurement tools to calculate area or distance.
    I played around with your image briefly, and was able to localize the edges to within an approximation.  I used the Clamp (Rake) tool to achieve the edge localization seen in the attached screen shots.  As you can see in ClampRect.png, the edge lines drawn aren't terribly accurate, but the other images show the points used, and with some playing around you should be able to find a better approximation of the rectangle edge.  Hope this helps!

  • Please help with graphics2d shape question

    I have the following code that is supposed to be used to create "dog" objects for use in other graphics applets. However, there seems to be a problem with my setLocation method. My code is this:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.geom.*;
    import java.applet.*;
    public class Dog {
         Shape body;
         Shape tail1;

              body = new Ellipse2D.Double(0,0,100,50);
              tail1 = new Arc2D.Double(0,0,75,60,50,250,0);
         public void display(Graphics g) {
              Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D)g;
              g2.setColor(Color.blue);
              g2.draw(body);
              g2.draw(tail1);
         public void setLocation(double x, double y) {
              double bodyWidth = body.getWidth();
              double bodyHeight = body.getHeight();
              body.setFrame(x,y,bodyWidth,bodyHeight);
    }When i try to compile it, i get the following errors:

    It acts as thougth those methods don't exist, but I have the api specification right in front of me that says setFrame is a valid method for class Ellipse2D.Double. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Thanks for your time and help.
    Tom

    it acts as thougth those methods don't exist, Well, there is no getWidth() or getHeight() method for a Shape. These methods do exist for a Rectangle2D which you can create by using the getBounds method of Shape. For example:
    Rectangle2D rect=body.getBounds();
    double bodyWidth=rect.getWidth();
    double bodyHeight=rect.getHeight();;o)

  • Help with filling a background

    I have photoshop elements 5.0 and I primarily want to use it to create my own custom scrapbooks. Before, I had used microsoft powerpoint. Powerpoint had a very easy way to fill in my backgrounds. You selected background-->fill-->texture-->file. This allowed me to select a custom background tile from my picture documents to fill the entire background. I don't see this feature in photoshop.
    I do see a fill layer option which prompts you to select a pattern. I tried to load my own custom pattern but was unable to find any files with the .pat extension. Please help me figure out how to fill in my backgrounds using graphics from my own files.

    I use a resolution of 300 for my projects, but I keep them on a portable hard drive and off my c drive.
    I think you probably want a resolution of at least 200 if you are planning to print. Check your printer documentation.
    If space is a problem you might want to keep just a jpg of your finished page on your hard drive and save the original layered psd (or tif) off line on dvd or cd.

  • I need help with vector shapes

    I have created a shape with the pen tool in CS6, I have multiple shapes that I have built into what should be a single shape. Although when the path tool is not on I can see the single shape I can't seem to set a stroke to it which is an important part of the image design. Can anyone help please

    I Don't want to path showing in the final visual but I do want the shape to appear as one hole shape and not look like its made up do different parts.
    If you can upload your PSD file and post a link to it so we can get what you have now. We can download it a show you what can be done.  You see a path that has multiple closed sub paths is like a layer stack. Each segment is like a layer in a stack of layers and each layer has a mixing mode. Changing modes and order can radically change shapes the path will produce. Herr you see 5 paths all have the same sub paths but not not all have the same order and modes. The paths look different in the Path palette and the shape made with the are quite different.
    How Photoshop stroke a shape often baffles me Sometime I feel the segment are missing or are extra and should not be there. Its most likely the stacking order and modes. I just can not seem to get a good mind's eye on the stack an modes. I know my brain must be defective in the perfect world how can that be????
    Where is my stroke in this one I sure can not see it. All modes are subtract so Adobe subtracted the stroke I would guess...

  • Help with filling a if statement

    hello everyone i hope someone can help me
    if you look at my code below the arraylist contains the number 8. but i want to know how i can use that number 8 inside the if statement (if (i%10 == 1)) where the number 1 is, so that number 1 will change to the number 8.
    could someone please help me.
    thanks for your time

    hash.put(new Integer(8), st1);
    if(hash.containsValue(st1)) {
                             Enumeration e = hash.keys();
                                  while (e.hasMoreElements()) {
    Object it = e.nextElemenet();
    Object it1 = hash.get(it);
    if (it1.equals(st1){
    arraylist.add(it);
    Enumeration e = v.elements();

                        o = e.nextElement();
                             if (i%10 == 1){
                        System.out.println(o);

    By ArrayList do you mean the hashtable in your code?
    Because a hastable is not the same as an arraylist....
    For one thing your hashtable is wrong...
    The first parameter you pass in a put method is a key, the second is an object...
    When you want to get the object from the hashtable you pass it the key.... like so:
    hash.put("Str1", new Double(8));
    Double l_Double = (Double)hash.get("Str1");With an ArrayList you don't use keys by the way...

    I've recently filled a contract and now the form will let me type everywhere except for the ONE line that I need to type in!!  Why is it locked on just that one line?  It keeps highlighting the two lines above it and there is a blue box around the text on the two fillable lines above it.

    Hi paigew93234382,
    It might be a signature field where typing is disabled or so.
    Please share the screenshot of the same so that I can analyze what exactly it is.
    If possible, please share the document with me.

  • Need help with drawing shape and scrollbar

    Hi everybody, I am newbie at java just started learning it. I have a few questions to ask.
    1. Can anyone show me to how to draw a equilateral penatgon, octagon, ( 5-10 sized shape) with polar cordinate.
    2. How to make the scrollbar back to their default state( work alone not together) after you use the "scrollbar1.setModel(scrollbar2.getModel())" method. For example I only want the scrollbar to work together when I choose circle as a shape after that I want the scrollbar to be back to normal when I pick another shape rectangle for example. When the scrollbar work together, how do I the make it so that the scrollbar move from bottom to top for vertical bar and from left to right for the horizontal bar when they work together instead of the default bar move from left(0) to right(max) for horizontal bar and from top(0) to bottom(max) for the vertical bar.

                        public function createPolygonObject():void
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.createPolygonShape();
                        public function createShapeObject(mStartX:Number, mStartY:Number, mVelocityX:Number, mVelocityY:Number):b2Body
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.createBodyDef(mStartX, mStartY);
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.createBody();
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.createFixture();
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.setStartingVelocity(mVelocityX, mVelocityY);
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.setImage();
                                  shapeObjectBuilder.linkImageAndBody();
                                  return shapeObjectBuilder.body;
    WheelBuilder class:
    package builders
      //imports
              public class WheelBuilder extends ShapeObjectBuilder
                        [Embed(source='../../lib/Basketball.png')]
                        public var Basketball:Class;
                        public function WheelBuilder(world:b2World, pxToM:Number)
                                  super(world, pxToM);
                                  restitution = 1.0;
                                  friction = 0.0;
                                  density = 5.0;
                                  Image = Basketball;
                                  circle.SetRadius(15 * 0.5 * pxToM);
    The above code did have some errors, but even if it worked I wouldn't have been happy. It was just my attempt at what I'm trying to achieve.
    What I want to is be able to call a function in my "Main" class to create a shape (Circle body or Polygon body), like so... createShape(wheelBuilder, 0, 0, 0, 0);
    I would like to make the class ShapeObjectDirector and ShapeObjectBuilder to be able to handle b2CircleShape() and b2PolygonShape(), but my problem is creating constants to handle both datatypes all in the one class.
    Basically, I need help with building a class to create shapes on the fly, with minimal code in the Main class. What do you guys suggest? I would be grateful for one of you's who have enough experience with this kind of thing to write me a post on how I can tackle this problem, all responses appreciated.
    Thankyou,
    Brendon.

    UIImageView initWithImage takes a UIImage* as a parameter, not NSString*. So load your image into a UIImage first
    UIImage *ballImage = [UIImage imageNamed:@"Ball.png"];
    UIImageView *tempStart = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:ballImage];

  • Fill shape with pen tool

    Hi there,
    this might be a very simple question, but couldn't figure it out ..
    I made a Title in Premiere and I want to draw a shape with the pen tool.
    However this only results into a shape with line instead of it being filled.
    So my question: how to draw a filled shape in Premiere Pro with the pen tool?
    Thanks in advance

    Set Graphic Type to Filled Bezier, that will fill the shape.
