Percentage function

Hi experts,
Purchased Qty                100000002                           10
                                     100000004               23
Purchased %                     100000002                     10/33
                                     100000004                     23/33
For above mentioned scenario i am using %CT function in purchased %,
but report shows 'X' in Purchased % field
Thanks in advance
bhaskar.....

In some cases you are having a denominator zero that is why it is showing X. Like 100002/0 which actually invalid. There is a function to handle div by zero and you could use that.
thanks.

  • How to use percentage functions in BEx with structures

    Hi, I need a help.
I have a query with a structure in the rows: two characteristics at left then the structure.
    Plant, Year/Month and a structure with 3 lines (Line A = movement type = 1, 2, 3, Line B types 4, 5, 6, Line C types 7, 8, 9).
In the rows just a quantity.
I'm trying to use percentage functions CT or GT in the rows, but it's not working.
    The idea is something like:
    Plant 01    07/2010   Line A    30  30%
                                     Line B    20  20%
                                     Line C    50  50%
                     Result                          33%
                     08/2010   Line A    40  20%
                                     Line B    60  30%
                                     Line C   100 50%
                     Result                          66%.
When I do not use the structure percentage function works well, but with the structure results are completely wrong.
    Any help will be appreciated.

You either have to use exception aggregation to give you the total per plant and use that in your percentage calculation, or you could define a formula in the cells. Here you can reference the specific cells you want to use as inputs.

  • Percentage Function in a report

    Hi,
I am new to BO and was trying to use percentage function. The function is working fine, but I have created a break on one dimension and hence the percentage is calculated according the break. I want to calculate the percentage for the entire data. I know I can remove the break and calculate it, but i do not want to remove the break. please let me know how do I do that.
    Thanks,
    MV

    Hello,
You should be able to use the "in" operator, such as "in block" in your total formula to get this.
    Thanks

    Thanks !

You are trying to use Formula function %GT in CKF. First of all CKF is a global formula which will be used in all the queries where same infoprovider is used. So while creating CKF these formula functions like SUMCT, SUMGT, SUMRT, %GT, %RT and %CT are not available for CKF.
If you want to use these formula fucntions %GT ....then create local formula instead of creating CKF.
In short, Formula functions like SUMCT, SUMGT, SUMRT, %GT, %RT and %CT are created only locally.

  • Missing results when using percentage function %GT

    Hi all,
I'm using the percentage function in BEx. As you can see in the left two columns, it works fine when the results are higher then 0,4. All the results less than 0,4 are set to 0. In the last column I calculated the results with an Excel formula.
Any Idea, what the problem can be?
    4.392,080          1,5635 %          1,563481163
    997,440          0,0000 %          0,355066085
    4.761,680          1,6951 %          1,695050405
    1.260,000          0,4485 %          0,448531508
    469,600          0,0000 %          0,167166981
    280.916,720     100,0000 %
    280.916,720     100,0000 %
    Many thanks in advance!

    Dear Daya sagar,
Iam tried with taht functionality  the query it self it is showing wrong and iam getting below error as result.
    Diagnosis
The query contains a formula with the operator %RT. Therefore, the query cannot be released for OLE DB for OLAP.
The operators %GT, %RT, %CT, SUMGT, SUMRT, SUMCT and LEAF depend on the display of the list in the BEx Analyzer. If you used OLE DB for OLAP or MDX, this formula would deliver unexpected values.
    Procedure
Do not release the query for OLE DB for OLAP, or do not use the operators %GT, %RT, %CT, SUMGT, SUMRT, SUMCT or LEAF. You may be able to achieve the desired result by selecting constants.
and report output is not coming.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sathish

  • Break and Row syntax in Percentage function

    Hi All,
I want to know how Break and Row syntax work in Percentage function.  As shown in the attached image, I'm able to get results ONLY using Percentage function, and hence NO NEED to add the syntax Break or Row to the formula.  Can someone please explain how Break and Row syntax work in Percentage function?
Basically, in the attached image =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]) can be used instead of =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]);Break) function.  Likewise, =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]) can be used instead of =Percentage ([Actual Sales $]);Row) in the cross table.  So why there's a syntax for Break and Row in the Percentage function?
    Thanks,
    Suranjith Fernando

    Hi Suranjith ,
Each operator posses different behavior when we work with  Cross tabs / sections / Breaks .
    For ex:
In a cross tab : Find result
    % =Percentage([G4];Col)  ,Number format Percentage .
    % =Percentage([G4])

'Some of us actually now how to calculate a percent without a percent button.'
I can never remember that though
But you could also argue that some of us know how to add or work out square roots.
The point remains the same. Even the most basic child's calculator has a % button. Apple calculators should too.
This is a thing that's bugged me since I got my first Mac - a Mac Portable running System 6.0!

So please tell me , how the '%CT Sales' and '%GT Sales' values are come ??????? urgentlyy.
    bye
    abdul

    hi Abdul,
    as the name %ct - percentage share of the <b>result</b> and %gt - percentage of <b>overall result</b>
    from your sample
    %ct sales for year 1999 region north = 50%, came from 'sales' / 'result' for year 1999 = 30 / 60 = 0.5 = 50%
    %gt sales for year 1999 region north = 16.6667, came from 'sales' / 'overall result'  (both year 1999 and 2000) = 30 / 180 = 16.6667
    result -> sub total
    overall result -> grand total
    hope this helps.

  • Use percentage function in pl sql

    Hi,
I want to get the employees that their salary are in top 13% of salaries.
I learned in this forum that I can get the 10% of top salaries in HR schema by this query:
    WITH     got_tenth     AS
         SELECT     last_name, salary
,     NTILE (10) OVER (ORDER BY salary)     AS tenth
         FROM     hr.employees
    SELECT       last_name, salary
    FROM       got_tenth
    WHERE       tenth     = 10
    ORDER BY  salary     DESC
    ;Output:
    LAST_NAME                     SALARY
    King                           24000
    Kochhar                        17000
    De Haan                        17000
    Russell                        14000
    Partners                       13500
    Hartstein                      13000
    Greenberg                      12000
    Errazuriz                      12000
    Higgins                        12000
Ozer                           11500There is no "TOP" keyword in Oracle.I wondered, What if I want to get, for example, the employees who are in the top 12% of the salaries? here we cannot use deciles (maybe we can but it won't be very nice).
    Thanks a lot to helpers

    CUME_DIST can help:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/functions035.htm
    WITH  tbl  AS
      SELECT  last_name, salary
,  cume_dist() OVER (ORDER BY salary DESC)  AS cumulative_pcnt
      FROM  hr.employees
    SELECT *
    FROM tbl
WHERE cumulative_pcnt <=0.12;Tie values always evaluate to the same cumulative distribution value, so if you need exact 12% of the rows you can add employee_id in the ORDER BY list.

  • Percentage function in Bex?

    Expert's,
There is % caluculation. But I am getting X for that calculation.Where as for other column I am getting correct value. what could be reason.
    I have created formula.

"Please explain what is this formula collisions? "
    Hi Vasu,
As Stefan and Oliver suggeted, have you checked the Formula Collision property of that KY. When you right click, and select properties, you'll see Formula Collision property. If you are using 7.0, for the KF, there is a tab for Extended ( on right side), there you'll see formula collision property. Formula Collision can happen, if you are one formula in teh calculation of another formula.

  • Need to display a percentage sign '%' in the query field

    hi all
I know that this might be very simple..
but it has bugged me for a while now..
i need to display ''%" in a particular field alongwith the number in the query for
    1. when field is having a percentage calc of two KF.
    2. when field is a mixed containing amount type KF & i need to display it only for certain records not all .
    Please help me.
    best regards,
    ramesh

1 - if you are using a percentage function in a CKF/Formula, it should by default come with a % sign in your report.
2 - You can't mix and match (have '%' only for some rows) unless you want to use some vb macro or table interface class to do it.
For any number that is a percentage but doesn't appear with %, you can always create another CKF ( = 100 % ckf_minus_perc ), or a variant of it and that should get you the same value with a % sign.
