Period closure activity in Projects 11.5.9

I am trying to close PA Period . I have al;ready run EXC: Transaction Exception Details by PA Period and in this report getting no exception .
How ever while rying to close the PA-GL Period getting an error like "You Can not close this acounting period beacuase it contains unprocessed cost distribution lines in the GL_INTERFACE "
Please let me know how to go ahead with this .
may i need to run any process in GL also ? Also in exceptiopn report i am not getting any unprocesssed records .

Also i have run the report EXC: Transaction Exception Details by GL Period and getting soem records .
Exception Reason : Lines exist that have not been imported in GL and tied back to Oracle Projects
Except as noted, all amount are in Func Currency
Please let me know which process i need to run now ?

Problem activating a project with screen-exit

Hi!
Could somebody guide me to activate a project that has the enhancement MM06E005, with many screen-exits?
In this enhancement, has many screen exits and I only implemented the 0101 screen (it's appears in me23n).
When I activated the project, the CMOD activated all the screen-exits and put a flag means that all screen exits is implemented, and I only implemented the 0101 screen.
And the problem is, I send the request with this activated project to production and the transaction ME41 generated a dump cause the screen 0301 not is created (this 0301 screen is in MM06E005 and I'm not use, I'm not implemented, but the CMOD activated).
I was clear with my problem?

That is because it checks whether that exit has been implemented or not.
In case it finds no screen it doesn't go and look for it.
My concern is that in Dev if you go and check against that screen which is giving error it should say something like 'there is no screen existing ' or something to that effect but if by mistake when you click it shows a screen then there is an issue.
Also, for the solution, what you can do is deactivate this enhancement project in production and then in Dev also deactivate it. Delete this project and assign it to a new project and then sent it to Production.
I am sure this will solve your issue.
I have also checked in my system and when you activate an enhancement project it put's a 'tick' mark against each screen exit meaning it's implemented even for those which have not been created and we are not experiencing any issue currently in this regard

      This is based on the projects but in general (In addition to above)
      As follows
     In general there are 3 kinds of interfaces
1)     Easy --- 2 days (Which will include dev+ document)
     2) Medium -
5 days
3)     Complex -
10 to 12 days (complex BPMs + Mappings+ document)
      Project full time will purely depends on the Business (Requirement)
     + No.systems+ No.scenarios
      But in general 4months to 6 months for normal projects

I created the project in cmod using enhancement MM06E005. After created i got the issue The project contains inactive include tables CI_EKKODB & CI_EKPODB during activating the project. I want to move my project to production. please guide me to solve this issue...

Hi,
You need to activate the structures CI_EKKODB & CI_EkpoDb. After this, you need to activate the standard table EKKO & EKPO.
Then, you need to adjust the tables in SE14.

Project period closure confirmation

Dear Dina,
Do oracle project suite contain any reports where we can conclude to go-ahead on closing the period??any report indicates the imbalances meeting all project criterias?? pls don't ask me to read project guide....

PAE batches distribution(all defined classes) ,generate cost accounting events,Create accounting
revenue GDR,generate revenue accounting events,create accounting
inv cost collection manager
project transaction import and interface supplier cost
all the above processes would push the data...any report to justify whether all project transactionsl pushed properly...pls help me

There is a standard report that tracks exceptions before closing period in Projects.
Alternatively, try closing the period in PA, and it will tell you if there are exceptions preventing the closure.

Periodic material requirment in project

Hello Guru's,
I need your help in my project requirment :- We are working for construction project were we have an activity for concrete work.
now total work involved in this activity is 120m3 and the duration is 12 months. So period wise 10m3 work i am going to execute.
To execut this 10m3 of work I need 5kg of cement per month.
So total material required to execute the 120m3 of work in 60kg.
Now my requirment is when I create activity in proj for concrete work, i attach cement as material to this activity and generate the reservation. Against this reservation through MRP material is procured and issused to proj. (this is the process)
While attaching material I need to specify 60kg but system should generate 10kg of reservation every month is this possible???
if so how or suggest me to map this process.

If I need to cretate periodic requirements for a material which is converted into a PR then do I need to assign the material perio-wise?
what i was thinking if there is any means of triggering a PR for the overall quantity and then splitting the quantity period-wise in the PR.My MM person says no functionality of this kind is available.
Would the best way-out be to create a manual PR and put the periodic requirements line-item wise?

Grace period after activating licensing server

We currently have a windows 2008 server R2 installed in one of our servers. We are basically using that server for connecting via RDP and its currently in 120 day grace period ( terminal server licensing). This is getting expired in another two days. We
currently have only 40 user cal license with us. It seems we require RDS cals to connect via RDP. Currently the licensing server is currently not activated.
My query is will there be any additional grace period once I activate the licensing server, during which I will procure the RDS cals. Or any other way to extend it.

Based on my knowledge the user logging on the RDSH (Remote Desktop Session Host servers(s)) that query/get the CALs from the RDS Licensing server) will have issues or stop logging in.

Tool Bar is not active & some projects state "No Masters"

My edit tool bar is not active and some of my projects state that there are no Masters. The photos in the project folders are the "masters". I feel I may have clicked on something by accident or unchecked something. Any suggestions?

I think you have the Quick Preview active. Right hand bottom corner of the viewer. A little box will be yellow. Click on it, and the adjustments are then available.
Always use quick Preview when looking through your images. Clicking on one of the tools at the bottom of the viewer will also take Quick Preview off.

I was hoping you did. Would've been easy to simply reactivate the project.
Could you please try "Delete Project Assignment" to one of your TRs under "Assigned CTS requests" on your existing project. This would confirm if the project is indeed assigned to the TRs and thereby your piece list.

Timeline de-activating during project

Hello, all.....
I just upgraded from Premier Elements to CS3. Sometime during project work, usually during the time I import clips into my library, my timeline just deactivates....still at the bottom of the work space but without any keyframe information. I cannot move any clips onto the timeline at all. It has that gray, second layer look that other software gets when it is not an active area.
I can't figure out how to get it re-activated, or what I've done to de-activate that area. Can anyone give me some helpful advise? Thanks!!

Goto transaction CMOD & open the project. Click on Change mode.
CLick on Components & then place cursor on user exit & click De-activate(Button next to Activate button).

Yes, you are right. Planning done for CJ40 to which you are refering is the Cost Element based period wise planning and not available for Networks .

Report of Period Closure

Hello,
We normally close the posting period in different dates like Materail - last working day of the month, Vendor -6th etc.
I would like to know, is there any report to know when the period is closed for last one year

Hi,
There is no report that does that for this transaction.
For tables in SAP there is a setting for Table logging. This field is in the technical settings of the table accessed via SE11.
The table for period control is T001B. If you see the technical settings, table logging is switched on. However, just this setting will not work, as a parameter rec/client needs to be set in the system profile. Only then data is logged.
If both the above conditions are met, use T-code SCU3 to view the logs for this table.
As enabling table logging generates a lot of data, we have taken the development route to capture changes. We have created a Z transaction and program, within which we call the standard program. we capture the changed values and update a Z table along with sending a notification to select people about the change.

You can try to change the description in index.html file as shown below as the error shows it supports only UTF-8.

Periodic disk activity when idle

Hi,
I've recently purchased a new Macbook Pro. Whenever my machine is idle, I can hear some disk activity every 30 seconds, even without any applications launched. Activity Monitor confirms this disk activity: every 30 seconds or so, I see red spikes appearing: it's almost like clockwork!
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm worried that this might crash my hard drive :S Thanks in advance!

I recently got a Mac Pro 8-core (Intel Xeon), and have been experiencing constant hard drive activity, but not from the beginning, so it had to come from something I installed.
First off I connected my laptop via firewire and ran Disk Warrior. There were acute problems, as part of the DW conclusion text was in red. After repair, and restart, I found that the the disc activity continued. I saw this thread and the link to another thread prompted me to uninstall Adobe CS3. That did the trick. After a reboot, I ran the CS5 Cleaner program, but that didn't seem to find anything after the uninstall. All that remained was to delete the cache.db in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/. I rebooted again for good measure. Voila! No more disc activity. I think I'll try re-installing Adobe CS one program at a time, and not do them all in one install. That way, if the disc activity starts up again, I'll know which program did it. Hopefully, that won't happen, and all the demons are exorcised from this machine.
