PermissionControlException Access denied - Portal BW
Several pages required to perform settings in the Portal BI get an
error, for example when trying to access the UME configuration through
menu System Administration -> System COnfiguration -> UME Configuration
and menu User Administration.
Following the error:
com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.PermissionControlException: Access denied
(Object(s):
portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role/com.sap.portal.system_administration/com.sap.portal.system_admin_ws/com.sap.portal.system_configuration/com.sap.portal.umeConfigToolWD)
We are using the User J2EE_ADMIN, which has the roles
SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION, SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO and
SAP_J2EE_ADMIN assigned.
What can I do?
Hi Rogelio, could you tell me what was your solution to this issue (if you remember.. I realise the thread is very old now)? We're encountering this on our BI dev portal along with a very strange logon error that worryingly can be circumvented by logging into the QAS portal and then changing the URL!

PermissionControlException: Access denied
Hi,
following problem:
We have a Web Dynpro Java application which creates a direct link to an iView as URL. If the user clicks on the link, a new browser window is open and an error message occured:
[EXCEPTION]
com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.PermissionControlException: Access denied (Object(s):
We investigated the problem. It seems that we leave the Portal Framework because the second windows of the browser is a stand-alone instance and so Portal tries to use the user "Guest" to login. But this user is not allowed to use the iView (iView rights are set strictly).
What can we do? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
MichaelHi,
finally, we solved the problem: It was the missing full qualified domain name in the URL. -

Thanks for yoru suggestion.
I think I found the reason.
The user ADSUSER is used to connect systems between HR backend system and Java HTTP destination.
The authentication between these systems are not identical, so that the access denied messages appears.
I checked it and then correct it, after that the action is normal. -
Access denied to transpix.gif in Portal Favorites
In the Portal Favorites of an authenticated user a spacer image transpix.gif cannot be displayed. The path is /irj/go/km/docs/etc/public/mimes/images/transpix.gif It causes the exception below and also a direct access via URL triggers the exception. I checked all sorts of permissions, default roles and what not. I am at a loss as to where to look. It works fine in the dev and production portal but not in our qa portal. Can someone help?
Thanks,
Michael

The problem seems to be fixed but I am not sure if as a result of the measures discussed here. I had also reset some folder permissions before after which the user reported the problem had gone away. I am not able to put the system back into the broken state so I cannot identify the source of the problem for sure.
Nevertheless, I discovered another corner of the portal, previously unknown to me. Case closed.

Access denied error for BW Report iView..Please help :(
Hello All,
I have created a BW Report iView..containing a Bex query.
Have created the required BW system object too.
When I preview this iView, it asks me for BW system authentication....since am not mapped to this BW system.
Its alright till here......
Problem:
Now, when I copy paste the URL (URL generated when you preview this iView) into a new browser window, I get an error saying:
" <b>An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Access denied (Object(s): <<i>iView path</i>>
Exception id: 02:57_13/02/06_0034_6204550
See the details for the exception ID in the log file</b> "
I checked tha bove mentioned log and it says:
<b>Permission check failed - Object <<i>iView path</i>> Pcd.Use Principal: Information not available with current trace level#</b>
Changed the iView authentication scheme to every value present but it did not resolve.
Please help me resolve this.

Portal Runtime Error - Access Denied
Hi Gurus,
I have developed a simple model using two BAPIs in the VC.
Once I save and deplay the model, I am getting a message 'Deployed Successfully'. But when i click on the Run <My model> link, i am not getting the Portal screen with the layout i have designed. I am getting an empty screen.
When i do a preview for my model in the portal, I get the following error:
" Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Access denied (Object(s): portal_content/com.sap.gm.cnt/vcmodels/com.myComp.myProduct.2L.USER_LIST/com.myComp.myProduct.iviews/com.myComp.myProduct.2M.Userlist).
Exception id: 10:04_23/12/06_0005_83777250
See the details for the exception ID in the log file "
can somebody tell me what am i doing wrong? Or what should I do to correct this?
Regards,
Ravihi Ravi,
Check whether you have connected to a portal server. In the right hand top corner you get a small button to connect to portal server. If it says it have deployed successfully then in the contentadmin->portalcontent->visualcomposer folder you can see your iView created there.

We are implementing EP 6.0, currently with SP11. We have developed some iViews, which are using RFC functions to get information from backend system, in this case SRM.
Everything worked fine, till the day weve transported those developments into other systems (production and testing systems). We are getting the following error Access denied (Object: com.sap.portal.system/security/no_safety). This error only comes out if the iView is called from inside another one, if called isolated it works fine.
Does any one have any idea about how to solve this?Hi AA, you can find in the log file in order to identify what is the object that you need to add in the security zone.
You can find information for the security zones on:

Hi Friends,
I have installed a Standalone Portal ( EP, EP core, BI Java) , configured LDAP as data source and imported the Portal content from Source system . ( in Development, Quality, Production)
I completed all configuration and testing completed.
But the portal user created with customized iviews roles are working fine in Development and Production.
But ....Access denied:com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher error is encountered in Quality system.
In QAS system, while installation I have selected EP, EP core as Usage type.. and after Insatllation I have installed additional Usage tye BI JAVA using JSPM
Whereas in DEV, PRD ( EP, EP core, BI Java) were taken as Usage types while installation only..
Above reason may effect the Test user for access denied error.
Please suggest.
Thanks
VenkatRamana,
It looks like a permissions issue, right click on the system created for BI under System Admin-System Configuration-System landscape and open the permissions and ensure you have the everyone group added there and enduser checked.
Good Luck!

Portal Runtime Error Reason: Access denied
Dear Portal Experts,
I know you might be familiar with the error and I'm kinda frustrated with the errors. Ok these are the facts:
I'm implementing SRM 701 - Portal
Got this error:

If I give MANAGER1 super admin, all works. My analysis: It's only user permission problem
I've done this:
Everyone Group has READ permission and END USER ticked at level object (SAPSRM)
Checking the related iView, has the same permission (obviously because it's inherited from the object SAPSRM)
MANAGER1 has Everyone Assigned Groups
So, everyone, is there something missing?
Really appreciate your helpIt seems SAP_SRM is a system object. Correct? Try this:
I assume you have already added everyone group to permissions of SAP_SRM, set it to OWNER. In addition, go to permission source and add everyone group there as well and perform the same action.
I remember I had some Bex iViews and I had faced similar problem. It always used to work whenever I used to add user/group to permission source.

Access Denied while integrating WD appl into Portal
Hi all,
I have created one appl in WD that can access details from R/3. Whenever I run the appl, the data is automatically populated from R/3 into dropdown list. It is working fine in my NWDS.
I have integrated this appl in to Enterprise Portal. Now when i execute that appl, I am getting
'Access Denied error'. (The data is not poulating into my dropdown list).
But I have integrated the FlightList appl, into Enterprise Portal, which is working fine.
Is there any settings/configurations needs to be done before integrating my appl into EP?
Thanks®ards,
GaneshHi,
For the Web Dynpro application which fetches data from R/3 system, you have to establish JCO destionation in Portal->Content Administration->Web Dynpro. Open you application from the portal content list in the left panel. In the right check for the JCO connection. If not existing, create JCO with the required credentials of the R/3 system, like client, message server, userid/pwd or Ticket, userid, password. After testing/ping is successful, your application will work fine in the portal.

Access Denied using T transactions in portal
We have 2004s, CRM5, and using business package 5.0. Our single sign on works, our system connection works; with a transaction in the portal, when we click on any of the action buttons such as 'go to', 'new' and others, we get an access denied displayed in the bottom corner of the screen.
Is there an easy fix for this?Not sure whats causing thi exactly. But still - please check the permission setting in all the iViews got reated from your Business Pakage. You can right click on your Business Package Root folder and say Open -> Permission. There see if the permission is given to your user id or to the Everyone user group. Otherwise you can search for the "Everyone " group and assign read/write permission to them on the root folder - check the End User check box. And after saving apply the same on all the child objects... might solve your problem. But as I said not sure exactly what is returning this access denied error.

Access Denied Web Application with Claims authentication NTLM only when using secondary URL
I have a SharePoint 2010 server farm with 2 web front ends, an application server and a database server. Both front ends are internal to
our network and are not behind a load balancer.
NOTE THAT I HAD TO SUBSTITUTE hzzp with hzzp so that I had no links in the body of this post since I am not verified
I setup a new web application called "SharePoint 41171" with:
Public URL:
hzzp://testserver1:41171
Claims authentication
NTLM only: no forms auth
No SSL
New web site "SharePoint 41171"
New app pool
New content database
I create a top level site collection and name mydomain\myusername as the primary site collection admin
I am able to access this site as expected at
hzzp://testserver1:41171 with the aforementioned site collection owner id: mydomain\myusername
I add an alternate access mapping for a secondary URL for this web application in the Intranet zone:
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com
So my AAMs for the site read as:
hzzp://testserver1:41171
Default hzzp://testserver1:41171
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com
Intranet hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com
When I attempt to log on to
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com with the same user name and password, I get "access denied".
I can access this site using
hzzp://iwatest.mydomain.com if I log in as the farm account. This is the only account that seems to work.
Side Note: If I create a separate web application without claims - just NTLM and create the same AAMs, I can login fine with the same secondary
URL and the same user name
IP address properly maps to this machine.
I reviewed the ULS logs and find the following:
10/30/2012 16:20:23.45 w3wp.exe (0x0E78)

Basically it tells me that access is denied. I didnt see anything that stood out here.
I found this article:
hzzp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadminprevious/thread/ded9188b-ee03-4ef0-bb50-3ad138110e0c, which pointed me in the direction of ensuring that the portal
super user and portal reader accounts were properly added to my web application. I followed the every popular article on doing this:
hzzp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff758656.aspx, but still no luck. As per the thread, I added the 2 domain accounts to the user policy with appropriate privilege
and then set them as the super user and super reader accounts via powershell, and yes I did prefix those names with "i:0#.w|mydomain\". To be exta sure, I repeated this for all web applications on this server with slightly different powershell steps
depending on wether or not claims was enabled on the web application.
The Claims to Windows Token Service is running.
I saw some mention of ensuring that the secure token service is running with a proper application pool account, but we are not running that service
and I cant imagine what that would have to do with my situation.
I have deleted and readded the web application and repeated these steps to no better effect.
I gave the mydomain\myusername full control for the web application through the user policy, ensured that it was indeed the primary site collection
owner and added it to the default site owners group. None of this helped.
I changed the application pool account to the farm account. No change in behavior.
Rebooted IIS and the machines many times along the way.
Further, when I attempt to sign in as a different user after being denied, I get "an unexpected error has occured message. I found the following

By the way, this occurs for the farm account also after a successful login and an attempt to sign in as a different user.
Any help would be greatly appreciatedThanks spadminspadmin:
I have, though I am not sure that what I've added there is correct:
The URL that I am trying to use to access the web application's IIS site is hxxp://iwatest.mydomain.com. I added a binding to the IIS site as follows:
Type Host name port IP address
http iwatest.mydomain.com 41171 *
Is that correct? -
Error of access denied opening a workbook in discoverer viewer 10.1.2
When I open a workbook in discoverere viewer in the html page shows this message:
OracleBI Discoverer Viewer no ha encontrado los datos necesarios para mostrar los resultados de este evento. Corrija los errores y vuelva a intentarlo.
- access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission oracle.discoverer.connections)
However data seems correct, but I don't know how to delete this message.
Thanks,
CarlosHi Carlos,
Metalink has some information regarding what sounds like a solution to your problem under Doc Id : 265228.1. Have a read and let us know if this is for you and whether you get it working in a development environment.
Symptoms
Discoverer 10g (9.0.4) Plus and Viewer throws 'page cannot be displayed'
Other symptoms
A.) Discoverer Plus shows a file download dialog with virus warning "Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source,do not open or save the file."
Opening or cancelling will again throw "page cannot be displayed"
B.) Plus throws a blank page and Viewer throws 500 internal server error
Cause
Installation failure on configuring discoverer in OC4J_BI_Forms may caused the problem.
Using pre-production / beta code (M16b shiphome) will cause the problem.
Fix
1.) Edit the file $ORACLE_HOME(midtier)/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/config/java2.policy
2.) Add the below lines at the end of the file
================================
grant codebase "file:${oracle.home}/discoverer/lib/discoverer5.jar" {
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "oracle.discoverer.connections";
grant codebase "file:${oracle.home}/j2ee/home/-" {
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "oracle.discoverer.connections";
grant codebase "file:${oracle.home}/portal/jlib/pdkjava.jar" {
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "oracle.discoverer.connections";
grant codebase "file:${oracle.home}/portal/jlib/ptlshare.jar" {
permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "oracle.discoverer.connections";
===========================
3.) Restart OPMN.
4.) Invoke Discoverer Plus or Viewer.
Let us know how you get on.
