Perpetual Warehouse

We have created a perpetual warehouse for every project we manufacture. If we wanted to only have 4 warehouses and still apply material to be project specific with some material being serialized how could we use serial number transaction report to verify the items are in the correct project.

We install Photovoltaic Solar Energy system for businesses. We create a perpetual warehouse for each business (warehouse). we would like to eliminate the warehouses and use only the 4 physical warehouses we store our material in. Some of our material (about 5) items are serialized and need to be tracked. My question would be if we entered the physical warehouse in a purchase order then did the goods receipt with the serial number and project number will I be able to use Serial Number Transaction Report to show me the project not the warehouse that it is physically in.

  • Defining New G/L Accounts for Each Warehouse

    Dear All.........
We have managed inventory by warehouse and set the G/L accounts by warehouse wise.
Now if we create new warehouses  the system but by default the accounts are same for all the warehouse,
So my main Question is ...........is it a good practice or solution to create new G /L accounts and relate them to each different warehouse ........
I have already asked this to Finance person of client but they are not actually getting the things and asked us to give the correct solution.
pls let me know is this an advantge or is there a good practice to do so (this is no the requirements.)

    Hi Satish,
The trade off between setting G/L accounts by Item/ Item Group/ Ware house should be decided by the Client.
What I would suggest to you is to explain all the G/L related to Perpetual Inventory System to the client.
You can find all the G/L in the Administration -> Setup -> Inventory  -> Warehouses, Accounting Tab.
Normally we go by the default accounts. Again this should be defined by the client.
Say for example i have 3 WH say ChennaiWH, DelhiWH, MumbaiWH.
Normally SAP by default would set
    Inventory Account to 130000
Revenue Account to 400000 and so on.
But the client may want to have seperate Account WH wise.
So in this case, we create new GL's location(WH) wise and assign it to the WH.
    for ChennaiWH
    Inventory Account 130000
Revenue Account to 400000 and so on.
    for DelhiWH
    Inventory Account 130002
Revenue Account to 400002 and so on.
    for MumbaiWH
    Inventory Account 130004
Revenue Account to 400004 and so on.
This discretion has to be taken by the Partner with concurrence with the clent.
    Hope this is clear

  • The impact and the difference item group and warehouse

    Dear All,
I am confusing what is the difference between item group and warehouse in continuous stock system and perpetual system and their impact in accounting flows. I have explored and read manual pdf files but still fail since I have heard one of addon can only apply or use if the gl account by is warehouse.
    I appreciate your answer. TIA

    Hi..
A warehouse is a commercial building for storage of goods. Warehouses are used by manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, transport businesses, customs, etc. They are usually large plain buildings in industrial areas of cities and towns. They come equipped with loading docks to load and unload trucks; or sometimes are loaded directly from railways, airports, or seaports.
Storage bin management          Warehouse movements (product)
Planning and monitoring          Control of WM system and
    Inventory control               automated control systems
Stock placement into the warehouse occurs after you or the system has generated a Transfer Order (TO).  This Transfer Order will direct you to a location in the warehouse where to get the goods and where to place the them. Once you close out the TO and verify the quantity the system will reflect a new location.
A storage unit type groups loading
equipment with similar properties, for example europallets, wire baskets,
or tanks. Europallets are defined as storage unit type “europallet,” wire
baskets as storage unit type “wire basket,” and so on, in Customizing for
    each warehouse number.

  • Error while defining a warehouse as Bonded Store

    Hi All
I am getting one error while defining a OPM Warehouse as Bonded Store in OPM Inventory Module under Warehouse Attributes.
The error is 'APP-JA-460778: This Warehouse does not have a Parent Organization defined in Oracle Financials'. Can any one tell me where i missed the setup part of defining a parent organization in Financial Module. We are on OPM 11i EBS.
    Thanks in advance
    Prem.

I think you are using India Localization. Sorry, I don't have any knowledge in that area.
I got following information about how to setup Organization/Warehouse. And it says that any deviation from this may result in error. Check if you are following all the steps required for defining warehouse and organization.
Please ensure that the following setups are done exactly as mentioned below:
    1) Create an OPM organization in OPM System Administration using OPM Organization Screen eg. ‘PM1’
    2) Create a Location using ‘HR Locations’ form with the same name as the OPM Organization (eg. PM1)
    3) Create an Inventory Organization using the form ‘HR Organizations’ with the same Organization Code as the OPM organization Code created in step 1. (Additional Identification details of the Organization could be given after a colon (:) in the Organization Name – Eg. ‘PM1: Vision Process India Mumbai’). Make this Inventory Organization as ‘Process Enabled’ and in the ‘Process Organization’ field, refer to the OPM Organization. Attach the HR Location created in step 2 to this Inventory Organization.
    4) On saving the Inventory Organization record, the system shall automatically create a Warehouse with the same name in OPM under the OPM organization. (eg.PM1)
    5) Query the Location ‘PM1’ and attach the Inventory Organization ‘PM1’ to it.
    6) Go to Organization Additional info in OPM System Admin – Create a record for ‘PM1’.
Enter the EC Code for this Organization, as this is the Excise Licensed Organization. After saving
the record here, an automatic entry is created in India Local Inventory – Organization Additional Information for the Inventory Organization.
    7) Go to India Local Inventory Org Additional Info and query for this Organization (it will be visible without location). DO NOT mark this as Master Organization.
    8) Add another record for the Organization with Location (eg. PM1)
    9) Check the 'Master Org' flag for this combination of Organization and Location.
    B: Warehouse :
    1) Create an Inventory Organization in India Local Inventory corresponding to the Warehouse in OPM (eg. ‘WSH’). Make this as ‘Process Enabled’ and give the ‘Process Organization’ as the
OPM Organization created earlier (PM1), which is the Process Organization this Warehouse is going to report to.
    2) Create location (WSH-With the same name as the Warehouse Code) in India Local Inventory and attach it to organization ‘WSH’ in India Local Inventory
    3) System automatically creates Warehouse ‘WSH’ in OPM under the OPM organization (PM1)
    4) Using the ‘Warehouse Attributes’ form, classify this Warehouse as Bonded/Trading/OSP
    5) Go to India Local Inventory Organization Additional Information form and create a record ‘WSH’ giving the Master Organization as ‘PM1’ (actually this is referring to the combination of PM1 with Location
PM1 as Master Organization) . Add another record for the same Org ‘WSH’ with Location ‘WSH’
with Master Organization as ‘PM1’. Please ensure that the EC Code is exactly same as the Master Organization.
    6) Optionally ensure that in the Register Priorities, highest priority (1) is set against PLA.
    7) Optionally ensure that Allow Negative PLA Balance Flag is checked.
Also make sure that all objects (triggers, packages etc) that are related to localization are valid.

  • How long does it take for the warehouse to show a phone as recieved so I can pay my final bill?  I would like to sign up for Verizon again as I am very unsatisfied with my new company but cannot until this is resolved.

I recently switched to another competitor but would actually like to start from scratch with Verizon but cannot do so because they cannot locate my devices I mailed in to their warehouse.  I switched my whole family's accounts, 3 phones and 1 mobile hotspot, to a competitor to get a cheaper rate and unlimited data but I have not been happy with their service and would like to switch back.  The problem is when switching the first time I was told by a Verizon chat rep that I could send my Edge devices back in and would get credit for them and stop my edge payments which was not the way I know now it is supposed to work.  After a couple of phone calls a supervisor looked at my online chat transcript and realized that I was correct and the rep had told me incorrectly that they would take my edge phones back and give me credit for them and I could close my account by only paying the early termination fees.  She sent me two envelopes to send my two edge phones back in and said they would credit on my account and stop the monthly billing for them once they were received.  I called a couple of weeks ago after being charged 24.99 for the both of them again for the month after my account was stopped.  They said that they had not received my phones and I should have noted the tracking number from the labels the rep sent me so they could track them.  I tried to find the tracking numbers but couldn't so I got back on live chat and asked them to resend me the letter from the supervisor rep as well as resending the labels and he said they could that and it should be 7-10 business days.  It has now been over two weeks and I have not received the resent letter or labels so I cannot give them the tracking number to prove I sent my phones back to them.  I have also researched the facility I was asked to send these phones back to and it seems this is a pretty common Verizon trick of making you prove you sent the phones and not giving you any access to the tracking numbers.  I just want to pay my ETF's and close out my original account so I can start over fresh with Verizon but now I am losing faith in doing that as this is making me wonder if they are the type of company I want to deal with.  Please someone who may have dealt with this help me restore my faith in Verizon and give me an idea of what to do next.

How recently did you switch?  If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account.  The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices.  I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

  • Error while creating warehouse task

    Hello,
While creating a Warehouse Task, i am getting following errors. Kindly suggest what settings need to be done to successfully create a warehouse Task.
    First Error:
Could not determine ERP stock data for: AYYB 0000000101 F1
    Message no. /SCWM/ERPINTEGRATION105
    Diagnosis
The transaction you executed causes a stock posting in the ERP system. For this, the system must determine the stock data for the ERP system (such as material, plant, storage location) from the EWM data (such as material, party entitled to dispose, stock type).
For the following field, the system could not determine any ERP data: AYYB 0000000101 F1
    Second Error
System could not determine source storage bin
    Message no. /SCWM/L3008
    Diagnosis
The system was not able to determine a source storage bin for this product.
This problem can be caused for several reasons:
    1. The product no longer exists in your warehouse.
    2. The product is in your warehouse, but currently cannot be reached by the system (for example, the product is just being transferred by one of the conveyor machines).
    3. The product is in your warehouse, but not in the storage type and storage areas that are defined in your system for the product search.
    Procedure
Check to see if the product really exists in your warehouse.
If the reason for the error is the third one mentioned above, contact your system administrator.

    verify the following settings:
    1. mapping of ECC plant and storage location and logical system number with the appropriate availability group code since this links the stock types in EWM to ECC org elements (SPRO -> EWM -> Interfaces -> ERP Integration -> Goods movement)
    2. ensure the availability group configuration is correct (SPRO -> EWM -> GR Process -> Configure availability group for putaway) - check all applicable nodes in this configuration since the availability group code is assigned in the pertinent storage types

  • Warehouse as a plant

    Dear SAP Gurus,
My client is having Warehouse near Port, where they store the import material and manage the stocks ?
Should we define that warehouse as Plant in the enterprize structure?
Also can we consider the stocks maintained at this warehouse , in the MRP run of our parent plant?
Also while carrying out the mrp run which stock is taken in to consideration, any criteria for the same??
    Thanks and regards,
    Monica

    Hi Monica
Is your client using WM management? If yes then you need not require to crdeate Warehouse as plant.but if WM is not active then you can define this plant.
    regards

  • Best practice of metadata table in data warehouse environment ?

    Hi guru's,
In datawarehouse, we have 1. Stage schema 2. DWH(Data warehouse reporting schema). In stageing we have about 300 source tables. In DWH schema, we are creating the tables which are only required from reporting prespective . some of the tables in stageing schema, have been created in DWH schema as well with different table name and column names. The naming convention for these same tables and columns in DWH schema is more based on business names.
In order to keep track of these tables we are creating metadata table in DWH schema say for example
    Stage                DWH_schema
    Table_1             Table_A
    Table_2             Table_b
    Table_3             Table_c
Table_4              Table_DMy question is how do we handle the column names in each of these tables. The stage_1, stage_2 and stage_3 column names have been renamed in DWH_schema which are part of Table_A, Table_B, Table_c.
As said earlier, we have about 300 tables in stage and may be around 200 tables in DWH schema. Lot of the column names have been renamed in DWH schema from stage tables. In some of the tables we have 200 column's
so my concern is how do we handle the column names in metadata table ? Do we need to keep only table names in metadata table not column names ?
Any idea will be greatly appriciated.
    Thanks!

    hi
    seems quite a buzzing question.
In our project we designed a hub and spoke like architecture.
Thus we have 3 layer, L0 is the one closest to the source and L0 table's name are linked to the corresponding sources names by mean of naming standard (like tabA EXT_tabA tabA_OK1 so on based on implementation of load procedures).
At L1 we have the ODS , normalized model , we use business names for table there and standard names for temporary structures and artifacts
Both L0 an L1 keep source's column names as general rule, new columns like calculated one are business driven and metadata are standard driven.
Datamodeler fits perfect for modelling L1 purpose.
L2 is the dimensional schema business names take place for tables and columns eventually rewritten at presentation layer ( front end tool )
    hope this helps D.

  • Query Help with Item Master & Warehouse Code

    Forum,
I would like help with a query to identify any items within a database where a particular warehouse code does NOT exist against it. At present I have the following:
    select T0.ItemCode, T1.WhsCode from OITM T0
    INNER JOIN OITW T1 on T0.ItemCode = T1.ItemCode
    where T0.ItemCode NOT IN ('WHS1')
This is returning all other instance and not just a list of item codes where 'WHS1' is missing from within the 'Stock Data' tab.
    Thanks,

    Hi Sarah...
    Try This
    SELECT T0.ItemCode, T0.ItemName, T1.WhsCode
    FROM OITM T0 INNER JOIN OITW T1 ON T0.ItemCode = T1.ItemCode
    WHERE T1.WhsCode not in ( 'WHS1')

    2) Check in OMS2 tcode in the material type setting WM view is selected.

I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

That is possible, John, but it is only speculation on your part. Might, not will.

Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

  • Benefits of SAP Business Warehouse Reporting compared with the Query-tools?

    Hello experts,
I've been creating reports with SAP Query tools, but been faced with few problems. First of all, there are restricted possibilities in terms of joining tables, and thus I cannot include all the data required for the report.
One solution for this would have been to create separate queries and join the data together in Excel. The problem with this is that there exists no common field that would make sense as for a selection criterion. If the selection criterion is different in different queries, there is the danger of combining false data together, which would eventually result with distorted data.
So I was wondering, could anyone briefly tell me if SAP Business Warehouse reporting would solve these problems? And what other benefits would it provide compared with the SAP Query? I'd urgently need to know if it would be a beneficial investment for the company, since I haven't found solutions for the problems occurred in the creation of reports.
Thank you in advance for you help!
    Maria

The answers are yes - and thousands of companies have gone down this route
Puttingin BW is a strategic aim of the comapny and not to be thought about and discussed in a BI forum such as this
The costs of implementation and hardware will no doubt make your eyes water.
To be quite honest SAP BI is a "no brainer" as most of the new e-SOA and new R3 modules reply on BW for their reporting needs

  • How can I update accounts by Warehouse in Item Master Data, Inventory Data

I have all of my inventory items set to G/L Accounts by Item Group and I need to change it to Item Level.  I know I can do this with DTW and Choose update using the oItems >> Items template.  I also need to modify the Stock account (inventory account) for one warehouse on all items.  It is the second part I can't get to work.  I get a message that "Field Cannot be Updated(ODBC - 1029)Application-Defined or object-defined error65171.
    Thanks,
    Don

    Hi,
If you have made already the transactions you cannot update the G/L method.
Secondly if you have set G/L by Item level then you need to define the inventory accounts for all the items in your template then only you will be able to proceed further

  • Managing item cost per warehouse.

    Hello,
I have a client who recently migrated from SAP Business one 8.81 to 9.0 PL8. And now they want to manage items cost per warehouse. This is because although the cost and quantities are okay at company level, at warehouse level there are now some negative values as they have been in operation for over 3 years. In the setups, I found out that the manage item cost per warehouse check box settings was not ticked. How do i ensure that this check box is ticked and what procedures do i take to make this happen. The client has more than 2,000 items and about 30 warehouses.
Most of the recommendations in the discussion  forum talk about creating a new database, After creating it, how do you go about it. what are the procedures involved?
    Kind regards,

  • Manage Item Cost per Warehouse

Previous posts have confirmed that it is not possible to change the Manage Item Cost per Warehouse option once any inventory transactions have been posted.  One entry posted in Feb 2010 (below) even offered a link to other "Irreversible Ticks" (although that link is now broken).  This limitation is required in order to preserve the relational integrity of the system, within its design architecture.
    Manage item cost per warehouse
If a database has been in operation for several years with company-level costing, and business changes now force tracking costs by warehouse, I see no option other than creating a new database with the per-warehouse option, then loading items, inventory, GL, etc.  Unfortunately, all history (GL transactions, document history, change log, etc.) is no longer available in that database.
Is anyone aware of SAP plans or tools to support any other alternatives to this kind of business change?
    Thanks, Dave

    Hi Dave,
I am afraid creating a new database is your only option.
For old data, you may still keep access for certain reports. All open items has to be imported to new db. It is a kind of manual archiving. Your database performance will gain a lot though.
    Thanks,
