The impact and the difference item group and warehouse

Dear All,
I am confusing what is the difference between item group and warehouse in continuous stock system and perpetual system and their impact in accounting flows. I have explored and read manual pdf files but still fail since I have heard one of addon can only apply or use if the gl account by is warehouse.
I appreciate your answer. TIA
Regards,

Hi..
A warehouse is a commercial building for storage of goods. Warehouses are used by manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, transport businesses, customs, etc. They are usually large plain buildings in industrial areas of cities and towns. They come equipped with loading docks to load and unload trucks; or sometimes are loaded directly from railways, airports, or seaports.
Storage bin management          Warehouse movements (product)
Planning and monitoring          Control of WM system and
Inventory control               automated control systems
Stock placement into the warehouse occurs after you or the system has generated a Transfer Order (TO).  This Transfer Order will direct you to a location in the warehouse where to get the goods and where to place the them. Once you close out the TO and verify the quantity the system will reflect a new location.
A storage unit type groups loading
equipment with similar properties, for example europallets, wire baskets,
or tanks. Europallets are defined as storage unit type “europallet,” wire
baskets as storage unit type “wire basket,” and so on, in Customizing for
each warehouse number.

  • What is the difference between "Group Albums" and "Albums"

What is the difference between "Group Albums" and "Albums"

An album is a shareable object; you can add photos to an album, then subsequently share that album with someone else. It's better than sharing your whole library, and allows you to make and share lots of different related sets of photos.
Group Albums allow you to collaborate on an album with others. Both you and the collaborators can upload photos or videos, and view them in My Library. All members of the Group Album can also edit, copy, print, and download the items in the album.
Only members of Photoshop.com can participate in Group Albums. But since membership is free, you can invite nonmembers to participate in a Group Album, and they can create a Photoshop.com account and contribute files.

  • Changing Set GL/AC Accounts By : Item Group to Warehouse

My Client wants me to change Set GL/AC Accounts By : Item Group to Warehouse in Inventory Tab of Item Master Data Screen.
Please tell me what prerequisites to be perfomed before doing this and what impacts may be arising after that. Any experiences Please share...
Client is related to manufacturing industry.
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi Naved ,
First of all , you are doing this in the Mid of Fiscal Year or Not !
Changing the G/L Acct Method is really a serious matter , since your stock value is in the Group Account now , if you change the G/L Method first of all you have to pass the journal entry for the Group Credit and the Warehouse Debit . So that your future entry can be secured .
Then again you have to do G/L Accounts Determination keeping every transaction in mind .
    Thanks

  • What is the difference Item and Header condition?

In Condition type screen, inside Control data1 section there are two fields Header Condition and Item condition. What is the relevance of these two fields and what is the diference between them?
    Thanks In Advance
    Prakash

    HI
Header condition as the name suggests is a condition type which is applied at the header level only. The header condition is always manual and no condition record can be maintained for this. There is no access sequence for the header condition. When you select a header condition in a sales order in pricing and give the rate for the same then this rate will be applicable for the whole document that is for all the items. In some cases it works proportionately. Like suppose you have header freight condition type 'HD00'. You have multiple line items in the sales order. When you give a rate for the same then it will be distributed proportionately among the line items depending upon the weight or basic price.
    Std SAP header condition types:
    HA00 - Percentage discount
    HB00 - Discount (Value)
    HD00 - Freight
    HM00 - Order value
    RD00 - Weight discount
    ITEM CONDTION:
Item conditions as the name suggests are given at the item level only. In the same sales order if there are 2 line items then, for the line item 10, the condition types may be different and for the line item 20 there may be different condition types. Like for eg: Discounts, say material discount 'K004". This condition type may be applicable for line item 10 and for the line item 20, it may not be applicable.
    Std SAP item condition types:
    PR00 - basic price
    K007 - customer discount
    K005 - customer/material discount
    KF00 - freight
So basically, header condition applies to all line items in the document and the item conditions are applicable at the line item level.
When you double click on a condition type in t.code V/06, there in the section "Changes which can be made" here you will see options like:
header condition - if you tick the condition type becomes header condition
Item condition - if you tick this then condition type becomes item condition.
    manual entries
    delete
    amount / percent
    value
    qty relation
    calculation type
If a condition type is applicable for all items in the document then it is better to select the condition type as header as it will save the item.Reward points if solution helps.

  • F.05 - Posting Logic - How are the open items grouped?

    Hi,
I am trying to understand how the posting logic works. We are on ECC 6, Classic Ledger and use F.05 for the revaluation. I am trying to revalue a Open Item managed balance sheet account, that has open items since 2009. It has  a total of 480 open items, but after reval system posts only 19 entries. I am trying to understand how SAP groups these open items, what criteria is used to group open items to different documents. The totals are matching, but I am failing to understand the how SAP combined these different open items into a smaller set that were actually posted. Can anyone please enlighten me with this logic?
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi,
In terms of open item valuation, open items are grouped by the Vendor/customer and the transaction currency of the open item. But if corporate group of the vendor/customer are same and group vendor/customer is checked in settings of valuation method, the grouping will be based on corporate group and transaction currency of the open item.
For example: You have 6 open items (say invoices)
    Local currency is USD
    1. Vendor ABC (GL account 160000) - 100EUR => diff 3$
    2. Vendor ABC (GL account 160000) - 150INR => diff 2$
    3. Vendor ABC (GL account 160000) - 200AUD => diff -2$
    4. Vendor ABC (GL account 160000) - 300EUR => diff 1$
    5. Vendor XYZ (GL account 160000) - 350EUR => diff 1.5$ (corporate group - A123)
    6. Vendor TTT (GL account 161000) - 200EUR => diff 0.5$ (corporate group - A123)
If you carry out foreign currency valuation now, Assuming that each of these 6 open items gives valuation difference.
1 & 4 will be grouped together and 5 & 6 will be grouped together.
Once the open items are grouped, the following logic applies into each group.
If post per line check is checked in the settings of valuation method, then each differences will be separate line item.
If post per line check is not checked, then all the gains will be grouped as one line item and losses will be grouped as one line item.

  • SBO - How to use two different Stock Account within the same Item Group

    Hi,
I'm currently stuck within one of my implementation.
I'm deploying the same solution worldwide which worked pretty well until now. All the items are connected to an item group, with a unique GL account, supposed to book at the same time the good receipt and the good issue (Balance-Sheet Account = 14xxxxx).
My new unit is willing to use two different GL accounts when performing its stock entry (let say 14xxx10) and another GL account for the good issue, let say 14xxx20.
Do you have any clue so i can please them and keep using at the same time the item group ?
    Thanking you in advance
    Stephane

    Hi,
In fact, we use the GL account as the HQ Account (Reporting Account) while the "Export Code" will be used to store the local GL Account (greek account).
As such, we can, somehow handle two different chart of accounts.
In my reporting, i'm only using a single GL account for stock movements, while my greek counterparts want to handle two different accounts.
Threfore, i have only two solution since there is normally a one to one relationship between a HQ account and a local account that are :
1 - Duplicate the HQ accounts
In that case, i do respect anytime the one to one relationship. I've got one HQ account for one local account. But how can i put this since i can only handle one single stock account.
2 - I keep my single stock account like this but i won't be managing the possibility to get two different Export Codes.
    Regards
    Stephane

  • Difference between Groups and roles?

    Hi All,
What is the difference between groups and roles?
Thanks for your time and help.

Oracle does not have anything called a 'group'.
A role is a named object that can contain a set of privileges. The members of the set can be individual privileges or can be another role that contains its own set of privileges. Roles can then be granted to users (or to other roles) so that those users (or roles) have the specified privileges.

  • How to modify the cost  in the SBO item master?

    Hi,
how to change the valuation method and cost of a item already created in SBO?
    Nandakumar

    Hi,
    to change the valuation method,
you could use this function : inventory valuation method, under inventory module --> folder item management.
you select the item and its current valuation method. After clicking okay, then the screen of changing valuation method will be displayed. you could change there, the old one to the new valuation method
to change or modify item cost,
    A.
    1. define G/L decrease and increase account in  the COA
    2. set the accounts either in the item group or warehouse --> tab accounting --> G/L increase and G/L decrease fields.
    B.
Open inventory module --> folder inventory transactions --> inventory revaluation. In this screen, you select the revaluation type and put new cost in the new cost column.
let me know if you need more detail

  • Alternative Item group not appearing CS11

    Hi all,
We have created BOM with all the substitution materials which can be used at the time of Production.
We have utilised the Alternative item group for this. When i look at BOM for a material say X using CS03 i can see the Alternative Item group. But when i explode the BOM using CS11 i cannot see the alternative item group in it.
The scenario in details is :
For the header material X i have X1,as component with different change numbers and unique validity dates and  this component is seen in 3 lines in BOM with alternative item groups against it.
Now when i explode the BOM using CS11 i can see X1 component with alternative group for only 2 line items.
We are in ECC6.0 version, can i ask you whether there is any patch or oss note to be applied.I have tried searching OSS notes but couldnt find them
Please advice as this is of very high importance.
    Thanking you
    Regards
    Raj Kiran

    Dear Raj,
What I wanted to confirm from you is ,after executing CS11--->
    Changing Layout -
    > Selecting Alternative Item group,
priority,Usage probablitity, the values are not shown in the field
properly though they are actually present in the BOM?
So enter the proper valid from dates in CS11(Select the date
on which the alternative item group is active) & also alternative
    BOM number properly.
So go ahead as I suggested and even after entering the proper
valid from dates,Alt.BOM---changing layout ,if its not giving
proper results, then go for checking OSS notes.
This is with respect to ECC 6.0.
    Check & revert back.

  • FMS to Display Item group UDF value

    Hi,
I have created Title level udf named U_WP in the item group table. Each group wise i have entered diferent values in this field.
I have created one more title level UDF in item master by same name U_WP.
I want FMS to select the UDF value from U_WP in OITB to be displayed in U_WP in OITM when when ever user select the
respective item group in item master while adding new code.
    swap

    Hi Swap,
I've tested the query below and it should give you what you need:
    SELECT T0.\[U_WP\] FROM OITB T0 WHERE T0.\[ItmsGrpCod\] = $\[$-39.0\]
A couple of things, make sure both the Item Group UDF and Item UDF are setup as the same structure (type and length).
Set the formatted search on the Item UDF so that it refreshes when the Item Group changes.
That should give you what you need.
    Regards,

  • Access Item Group Item of BoM

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find/create an unambiguous link between the items that appear in a supply to production task and the line item of a Bill of Material (BoM) it's based on. The reason for this is that a customer would like the `line item details text' field that appears below each item in a BoM to appear on the supply to production task form in the same row as the corresponding item. Unfortunately this doesn't seem very simple --- practically all links back to the PBoM business object eventually lead to collections, which don't provide unambiguous links. I can't use material ID as a BoM variant can potentially have multiple versions of the same product but with different base quantities etc., so that's out the window. I found that going through production lot > released execution production model > production segment leads me to be able to grab the BoM/Variant/Item Group IDs fine, but the association that supposedly links to item group item is not set --- my guess is that this association is the one I need. Below is a screenshot of the code I'm using to try and access this --- as you can see, the ProductionBillOfMaterialItemGroupItem association is not set in either case, yet the corresponding association for item group is, and returns the correct item group ID. Anyone able to help/have experience with this? Thanks.
    Lewis

Spoke to SAP about this. Whilst there's a 0..1 association from AcitivtyAssignment to ItemGroupItem, it's never set. Which makes me wonder why it's even there in the first place, but never mind.
They suggested going via ItemGroup first. When I did this there was no 0..1 association from ItemGroup to ItemGroupItem, merely a collection of all items in the item group. When I pointed this out, they acknowledged that there is no link. So basically, this isn't possible per se; what I've done to emulate it is a bunch of calculations based on quantity etc., as well as use the ability to manually set the item group ID of a row in a BoM, to ensure I can reliably find the row of a BoM a production task row refers to. I suppose it's case closed on this; if anyone's interested in the code, they can send me a message.

  • Alternate Item Group functionality in BOM

    Hi PP Gurus,
I was looking into the Alternate Item Group functionality in BOM and found it interesting for my business requirement.\
But I am facing one problem as below:
I have 3 components for Eg. A1, A2, A3 in my header material 'A'. All the three component materials are same but quailty of the 3 is different and also the standard price.
My requirement is whenever I am creating Production material for header material 'TEST_Header_Material, the system should look into A3 first (Cheapest), if not available then A2 (Cheaper) and if not then A 1(expensove of all the three).
    For base quantity for A = 1EA, I have entered 1 EA for A1, A2, A3 in BOM. I have stock of A1=9, A2 = 6 and A3 = 2.
When I am creating Production Order for A = 10 EA, ,yrequirement is that the system should consider A3 first, then A2 and then A1 based upon the prority and hence should withdraw A3=2, A2=6 and A1=2 for meeting the quantity for finish product A in Production Order. But actuall the system is considering A3 but confirming it as 0, then looking into A2 again confirming it as zero and then looking into A1 and  again confirming it as 0. And thus giving Missing Part list though I have sufficient quantity to cover the requirement.
That means system is only considering total quanitty.
    Can you please advice?
    Thank You.
    Rahul.

    Dear Rahul,
Priority:In this field, you define the priority of the item within an alternative item group. This determines the priority for planned
withdrawal of items. Two items are assigned to an alternative item group (A1) with the following values for priority:
Item 0060 Value for priority: 02
Item 0065 Value for priority: 01
The system reads item 0065 first.
    Also check these links,

  • Warehouse vs. Item Group

When is the best time to use Warehouse GL Determination against Item Group GL Det. and vice versa?
    Thanks,

    Joel,
This is a very difficult situation to please any client.  One thing to understand is there is only way to this.  If the Client wants to monitor profitability by Item group, I mean track sales, cost, profits, expenses then Item group is the way to go.
If this is the case then they will not be able to exclude missing, defective items from the Balance sheet.
If we go with your existing plan of creating 4 variations of each warehouse i.e., Item group, it could become a tough task it the Item groups are going to be added regularly.  This can eventually become un-manageable.
You could keep your G/L by Item group and have 3 Item groups for
    Warehouse1 - Defects
    Warehouse1 - Expired
    Warehouse1 - Expiring
and whenever you mark an Item as defective, just create a new Item in the appropriate item group with the name Itemcode-D or Itemcode-E.  Do a goods issue of the original item and then do a goods receipt of this new Item you created.  This way you can have a deferentiation in stock of the same Item.
If you think this would be tough to manage then you can go with your original idea of having 4 warehouses for each Item group.
    Best wishes
    Suda
