Personalised data from Variable

Can U give me an example  how this funtion works and where do I have to personalise the values?

Ramya
By personalizing the variables, you assign values to them that are permanent until you remove the personalization
Please see this step by step where you personalise the query

  • Dynamic Creation of Columns based on Date from variable screen

    Hi Experts,
    Is it possible to create the Columns dynamically?
    My requirement is,
    for eg if the user selects the dates from 23Aug2008 to March2010 in variable screen, then in the output I should be able to drilldown and see the individual months data i.e., from Aug2008 to March2010 (20 columns).
    If the user selects March2009 to November2009 (9 columns)
    Is it possible to display in output like this?
    Is it possible to create columns dynamically(based on the period selected) in the output?
    Kindly help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Shanthi,
    Thanks for replying.
    And sorry If i havnt elaborated my requirement.
    I used a new structure->new selection with 0CALDAY restricted by 0I_DAYS periodFrom/to variable in Columns.
    Its displaying the total of the selected period in a single column.
    My requirement is to drilldown the same into individual months values in seperate columns.
    If the selected period has 8 months, then 8 columns. if the selected period has 15 months, then 15 individual columns.
    Pls help me.

  • SSIS XML Task: data from Variable Option NOT Working

    hi
    this is the scenario:
    n number of XML files get delivered everyday
    XML files need to be transformed using an XSLT transform
    XML files get stored in table ImportedFile under XMLFile column (XML Type)
    We then create a SSIS package that does the following:
    we grab the data from the SQL server ImportedFile Table
    dump the table in recordset destination
    create a for each uploaded file loop that puts the xml in variable XMLValue
    read the xml in the XMLValue with XML Source package
    package fails with following error
    "[XML Source [2]] Error: The XML Source was unable to read the XML data. Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1."
    below is a snapshot of SSI Job - any idea why this may be occurring ? is there a limit on the size of the xml ? is String the correct type ?

    Hi sandeepppp,
    Currently, we can't repro this issue based on the information you posted above. What's your SSIS package structure?
    As SSISJoost suggested above, please try to configure logging for the package so that we can get more detail information to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Removing Key Date from variable input screen

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to remove the "key date" entry from the variable input screen so users dont see this value when they are trying to run a query. Can you please advise me on how to do this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul,
    You would need to open the query and remove this variable from the query definition, or if you need this variable and then remove the ready for input check mark from the variable definition.
    Hope this helps...

  • Extracting data from Variable using embedded Java

    I am reading a file from a File Adapter and using a variable to get the File Name. This file is being copied to another folder using File Adapter with the same name.
    Now I want to use this File Name in Embeded Java code to encrypt the file. But I am not able to extract the File Name. I am using the following code;
    String getFileName = (String)getVariableData("FileName_In","inboundHeader","/ns4:InboundFileHeaderType/ns4:fileName");
    When I execute it does not throw any error but does not do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Extract data from variable

    Hi
    I'm running this query in execute sql task and storing the result set in a variable.
    select FirstName, LastName, Email
    from dbo.Employee where employeeID = ?
    Now how to load this result set stored in a variable into a destination (flatfile/olebd).
    Royal Thomas

    We can read a variable of datatype Object using For each loop container by setting the "Enumerator" as "Foreach ADO Enumerator".
    Follow the step. First create a variable "MyOutput" of datatype "Object". Another variable say "Email" of type string.
    Add execute SQL Task. Set the result set property as "Full Result Set". Set connection property and SQL Statement. Note that the email field in your query is at 3rd position.
    Add Foreach Loop container, under collection property set the enumerator as "Foreach ADO Enumerator". Select the variable "MyOutput" under ADO Object source variable. The enuneration mode is "Rows in the first table".
    Supply the "Email" variable of string datatype in the Variable mapping tab and the index as 3.
    Finally inside the Foreach loop we can add a dataflow task whose source is OLEDB Source and Data access mode is SQL Command and having parameter. Mapped the parameter to "Email". While setting destination say Flat File destination do not forget
    to uncheck "Overwrite data in flat file".

  • Not able to get the data from variables contained in more than 1 mxml file

    I have got 5 Bindable Public integer variables in total in 5 mxml files (Pages). Each variable is assigned it's value in a Public function in each of the mxml files.
    What I need to do is add up the values of the 5 variables. The way I approached this was to create a public function add5Variable in my main mxml file (Page1) as shown below.
    [Bindable]
    public var varTotal:int = 0;
    public
    varTotal = (variableP1 +
    Page2.variableP2 + Page3.variableP3 + Page4.variableP4 + Page5.variableP5);
    return(varTotal);
    I have got a TextInput field on Page5 where I display the varTotal. The function add5Variable is called when moving from Page to Page.
    The results I am getting is that the varTotal will always be the value of variableP1. When I tried some debugging in Flex Builder it showed me that the other 4 variables had a value of 0.
    Why is this the case and do you have any suggestions on how I can get the correct total for varTotal?
    Thanks

  • Reagrding write from variable to other...

    Hello,
    I want to know following difference. In case a), the date from variable v_fromdat exactly get copied into a field of internal table chg_roles-from_dat but in case of b) the v_fromdat gets copied with different format.
    a) chg_roles-from_dat = v_fromdat.
    b) write v_fromdat to chg_roles-from_dat.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

    If we have v_formdat = sy-datum than it will:
    a) chg_roles-from_dat = v_fromdat.
    chg_roles-from_dat  will have 20080814
    Here chg_rols-from_dat should be TYPE D.
    b) write v_fromdat to chg_roles-from_dat.
    chg_roles-form_dat will have 08/14/2008 (based on your date settings MMDDYYYY or DDMMYYYY).
    Here chg_roles-form_dat should be type CHAR10
    Basically this statement WRITES the data to the target variable as it writes the data to output.

  • How to take data from HTML Template into BSP Variable?

    hi all,
                can we take the data from the input field of HTML Template and collect into BSP variable? i have the shown the HTML Template into BSP page by passing the url in <IFRAME> tag now i have to take the data form the into field of HTML Template and save it back to the BSP table onclicking the Save button of BSP Page. please help me out thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
    This is very simple....
    In the onInputProcessing event of the page use the following code to read data from the InputField into an ABAP variable...
    Then you can use it at will..!
    Code is :
    data : event       TYPE REF TO if_htmlb_data,
           but_event   TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_event_button.
    event = cl_htmlb_manager=>get_event( request ).
    IF event->EVENT_NAME = 'button' and event->EVENT_TYPE = 'click'.
          but_event ?= event.
          CASE event->EVENT_ID.
            when 'your_button_id'.
              data : lw_inf type ref to cl_htmlb_inputfield.
                 lw_inf ?= cl_htmlb_manager=>get_data(
                                request = runtime->server->request
                                name    = 'inputField'
                                id      = 'your_inputField_id'  ).
              if lw_inf->value is not initial.
                lw_variable = lw_inf->value.
              endif.
         ENDCASE.
    ENDIF.

  • Error reading data from CLOB column into VARCHAR2 variable

    Hi all,
    Am hitting an issue retrieving data > 8K (minus 1) stored in a CLOB column into a VARCHAR2 variable in PL/SQL...
    The "problem to be solved" here is storing DDL, in this case a "CREATE VIEW" statement, that is longer than 8K for later retrieval (and execution) using dynamic SQL. Given that the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement can take a VARCHAR2 variable (up to 32K(-1)), this should suffice for our needs, however, it seems that somewhere in the process of converting this VARCHAR2 text to a CLOB for storage, and then retrieving the CLOB and attempting to put it back into a VARCHAR2 variable, it is throwing a standard ORA-06502 exception ("PL/SQL: numeric or value error"). Consider the following code:
    set serveroutput on
    drop table test1;
    create table test1(col1 CLOB);
    declare
    cursor c1 is select col1 from test1;
    myvar VARCHAR2(32000);
    begin
    myvar := '';
    for i in 1..8192 loop
    myvar := myvar || 'a';
    end loop;
    INSERT INTO test1 (col1) VALUES (myvar);
    for arec in c1 loop
    begin
    myvar := arec.col1;
    dbms_output.put_line('Read data of length ' || length(myvar));
    exception when others then
    dbms_output.put_line('Error reading data: ' || sqlerrm);
    end;
    end loop;
    end;
    If you change the loop upper bound to 8191, all works fine. I'm guessing this might have something to do with the database character set -- we've recently converted our databases over to UTF-8, for Internationalizion support, and that seems to have changed underlying assumptions regarding character processing...?
    As far as the dynamic SQL issue goes, we can probably use the DBMS_SQL interface instead, with it's EXECUTE procedure that takes a PL/SQL array of varchar2(32K) - the only issue there is reading the data from the CLOB column, and then breaking that data into an array but that doesn't seem insurmountable. But this same basic issue (when a 9K text block, let's say, turns into a >32K block after being CLOBberred) seems to comes up in other text-processing situations also, so any ideas for how to resolve would be much appreciated.
    Thanks for any tips/hints/ideas...
    Jim

    For those curious about this, here's the word from Oracle support (courtesy of Metalinks):
    RESEARCH
    ========
    Test the issue for different DB version and different characterset.
    --Testing the following PL/SQL blocks by using direct assignment method(myvar := arec.col1;) on
    different database version and different characterset.
    SQL>create table test1(col1 CLOB);
    --Inserting four CLOB data into test1.
    declare
    myvar VARCHAR2(32767);
    begin
    myvar := RPAD('a',4000);
    INSERT INTO test1 (col1) VALUES (myvar);
    myvar := RPAD('a',8191);
    INSERT INTO test1 (col1) VALUES (myvar);
    myvar := RPAD('b',8192);
    INSERT INTO test1 (col1) VALUES (myvar);
    myvar := RPAD('c',32767);
    INSERT INTO test1 (col1) VALUES (myvar);
    commit;
    end;
    --Testing the direct assignment method.
    declare
    cursor c1 is select col1, length(col1) len1 from test1;
    myvar VARCHAR2(32767);
    begin
    for arec in c1 loop
    myvar := arec.col1;
    --DBMS_LOB.READ(arec.col1, arec.len1, 1, myvar);
    dbms_output.put_line('Read data of length: ' || length(myvar));
    end loop;
    end;
    The following are the summary of the test results:
    ===================================
    1. If the database characterset is WE8ISO8859P1, then the above direct assignment
    method(myvar := arec.col1;) works for database version 9i/10g/11g without any
    errors.
    2. If the database characterset is UTF8 or AL32UTF8, then the above direct assignment method(myvar := arec.col1;) will generate the "ORA-06502:
    PL/SQL: numeric or value error" when the length of the CLOB data is greater
    than 8191(=8K-1). The same error can be reproduced across all database versions
    9i/10g/11g.
    3. Using DBMS_LOB.READ(arec.col1, arec.len1, 1, myvar) method to read CLOB data into a VARCHAR2 variable works for both WE8ISO8859P1 and UTF8
    characterset and for all database versions.
    So - it seems as I'd surmised, UTF8 changes the way VARCHAR2 and CLOB data is handled. Not too surprising, I suppose - may you all be lucky enough to be able to stay away from this sort of issue. But - the DBMS_LOB.READ workaround is certainly sufficient for the text processing situations we find ourselves in currently.
    Cheers,
    Jim C.

  • Help needed with variable - trying to get data from Oracle using linked svr

    Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum - I just didn't know where to post it.
    I'm trying to write a simple stored procedure to get data from an oracle database via a linked server in SQL Enterprise manager. I have no idea how to pass a variable to oracle.
    Here's how I would get the variable in SQL:
    declare @maxkey INTEGER
    select @maxkey= MAX(keyfield) from [server].Data_Warehouse.dbo.mytable
    select * from [server].Data_Warehouse.dbo.mydetailtable where keyfield=@maxkey
    the select statement I need to do in oracle would use that variable like this:
    select * from OPENQUERY(OracleLinkedServer,'select
    * from ORACLEDB.TABLE where keyfield > @maxkey')
    and I get this message: OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "OracleLinkedServer" returned message "ORA-00936: missing expression".
    I realize that I can't pass the @maxkey variable to oracle - so how do I accomplish this?

    Please refer the example in this link which deals with Oracle date format.
    You can finnd a command DECODE which is used for date formats. If you have a look at whole theory then you will get an idea.

  • How do I take data from a data grid and put it into a variable?

    I am having problems taking data from a datagrid (guess you got that from the title) and setting it to a variable. I am tak
    ing the data from 3 different rss feeds, depending on what button you press, and showing it in a grid. I would like to be able to do more with this data. Here is my code so far:
    <mx:VBox id="vbox" x="70" y="150">
      <mx:Label text="This Data Grid is doing nothing" />
      <mx:DataGrid width="1000" dataProvider="{fullXML}">
       <mx:columns>
        <mx:DataGridColumn id="dataGrid" *dataField="channel.description" headerText="Feed"/>
       </mx:columns>
      </mx:DataGrid>
    </mx:VBox>
    <!-- from test 5 -->
    <mx:Move id="moved" target="{hbox}" repeatCount="0" easingFunction="mx.effects.easing.Linear.easeIn" />
    <mx:HBox id="hbox" fontSize="12" fontFamily="courier">
      <mx:Label text="{website**}" />
    </mx:HBox>
    * this is the data I want to get out
    ** this is where I want to be able to put the variable.
    I don't know if I can do it here or if I need a function or what.
    I would like to be able to put it into an array, but step one is anything at all, so I'm trying just a variable.

    Where do I put that line of code? I see that it goes at the Script part near the top, but how can I use that, I am pretty new to this language. I am not familiar with this line, where does it bind the value from the datagrid to the variable?
    fullXML[myDataGrid.selectedIndex].FIELD_NAME;
    myDataGrid would be the id from the grid I am guessing?
    and selected index would be the channel.description part?
    and FIELD_NAME; is the variable name?
    does this go into a funtion or is it placed at the top where the variables are declared?

  • Import xml data from a variable locations

    Hi,
    Could some please help me with a solution?
    Here's what currently runs on our server. An applications runs and does:
    Create an unique folder
    Copy a fillable, reader extended form into this folder
    Put data in a XML-file (always same filename) and places that in the same folder
    Open the PDF for the user to fill in the details.
    Now, the change I want to make is to import the data from the XML file into the PDF. I used a button on the form using xfa.host.importData(). This fires up a browse-for-file-box so the user can select the correct xml-file. This works!
    However, as the folder from where the PDF opens, is always a different one, the browse-for-file-box opens in the wrong folder. The user does see a XML-file, but that is from a different folder. So, what I wanted is the following:
    The form opens
    The PDF imports the data from the XML file automaticly, without user intervention
    The user finalizes the form and saves it.
    In short: How can I create a variable from the folderlocation where the pdf is opened, and merge that with the xml-filename?
    Hopefully I than can use xfa.host.importData("filename.xml")
    I hope someone can advise me! Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    thanks for your responce. It sure was helpfull to have a look at that discussion. However, that article regards a defined source with a fixed path (xfa.host.importData("/c/path/to/xml/file.xml");)
    There is my problem. I need to determine the path first since that changes every time. Then I want to import that file using code.
    I hope my question is clear. If not, please let me know!
    Regards,
    Erik
    By the way, I also tried opening the same pdf from different folders. Adobe Reader seems to remember where it looked previous for a XML-file. So,if there is a way to set the folder where the browse-for-file-box opens with, that would be great too!

    Hi,
    Using the Parameters is the correct method to pass data into and out of a sub sequence. You assign your data to be passed into or out of a Sequence when you are in the Edit Sequence Call dialog and in the Sequence Parameter list.
