PFCG - Organisation Levels

Hi,
Need to know, how to input organisation levels? like company code, cost center, department etc.
Which table holds these values in it.. Would appreciate, more info.
Thanks,
Sam

Hello Sam,
It depends totally on what you want in organizational level management. For example there is a role in which you want to give authorizations for only a set of company codes/controlling area etc. Then you can fill in only those values in the organizational level. However if you feel that a role should give access to all values then you can keep the value as *. You can find out the allowed values by doing an F4. For example you have a department A and department B. Department A is represted by company code XXXX while Department B is represented by company code YYYY. If you are creating a role that will be assigned to Department A users then it makes sense to fill in value XXXX in the organization level. Similarily the role for Department B should have value of company code as YYYY only. However if it a role for a manager who is taking care of both Department A and Department B then you can give both company codes XXXX and YYYY in the role created for him.
However it is just not a basis decision but also one which is governed by business requirements. From business point of view organizational level helps you in differentiating the authorizations between the set of users while from a purely technical point of view it reduces the manual effort in filling in field values repeatedly. For example if you give the value of company code as XXXX in organization level the value xxxx will get populated in all the fields for company code with in that role.
As suggested in the previous mail you can discuss this with functional consultants as well with some of the manager level end users. They will be able to provide you an entire organizational plan for the organization.
Please let me know if you need further details.
Please award points accordingly.

  • Delivery Quantity Control at Purchase Organisation Level

    Hi All,
In this scenario, I would like to have a control on the Delivery quantity by a vendor.
Quantity released: 100 pcs for Vendor ABC
    Total Number of Plants: 3
Out of this 100 pcs, it can be delivered to any of the 3 plants by vendor ABC. Quantity delivered by vendor to these 3 plants should not exceed 100 pcs in total. How can we have a control for total released quantity at Purchase Organisation level.
Breakup of quantity to be delivered to each plant cannot be given as releasing is done at corporate level.
We checked same scenario by using purchase Info record maximum quantity field. We created purchase info record at Purchase Organisation level.
    Scenario 1. which i tested
    Maximum Qty:100
    PO creation
    Plant 1: 100 qty-- No error/warning
    Plant 2: 100 qty-- No error/warning
Plant 3: 101 qty-- warning maximum qty exceeded than 100 pcs.
Above scenario will not help me as I need to total release control on all plants together.
    Scenario 2. Expected
    Plant 1: 60 qty-- No error/warning
Plant 2: 45 qty-- Error, Total released qty exceed by 5 pcs.
    Thanks and Regards,
    VV

    Hi
You cannot do GR for a plant which is not given in Purchase order. Corporate level you can have contract but not Purchase orders. If you have reference purchase organization create a corporate contract and try creating a po against that contract.

  • RAR 5.3 - Organisation Level grouping

    Hi All,
I am currently running an project to setup a new Restricted Transaction ruleset, the business require the results to be grouped together by Organisational Level, for example:
If a user has access to VK11 they want to know the Sales Org (VKORG) value also, however they do not want to see the value  but what the underlying Company Code this is used for (Value 2010 = GB01 and 2060 = GB02 etc)
So what they are after is something that looks like:
Joe Black has VK11 access to GB01 and GB02 rather than Joe Black has access VK11 with value 2010 and 2060.
Without building 100's of single Functions with one transaction and org value within is there another way around this?
I have read some documentation around Organizational Rules but this states that Org Level rules are not designed to be used to group org levels together for Management reports.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Kind Regards
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
This depends on whether you treat specific org values as risks or if you just want to know what people have.
RAR is designed to specify the rules around access and not just to run analysis on who has what.
If you have specific company codes which are particularly high risk, then specify them as such in the ruleset and you can then make use of the Org rule functionality if needed.
If you want to know who has access to a specific list of org level values then you may find that running reports from SUIM or against AGR_1252 may yeild better results.

Can we change the sequence or remove any Organisational element such as Plant, Storage Location, Sales Organization, Division etc. before creating Material Master.(Organistional level dialog box)
Please suggest if it is possible.

    Hello
Go to MM01 and to to the 'Defaults' tab and select the 'organizational levels'.
Give the default values and tick the ' organizational levels only on request'.
Then the organizational levels will be shown only if u click organizational levels in the view selection box.

  • Organisation levels problem?

    hi
we have 3 companies(company codes) assigned to one controling area, we are unable to restrict the company codes in the roles.this is happening with fi-co related transaction codes. when ever users excuting these transaction codes(ex:-okenn tcode) they are able see all three companies information.(system vesion 4.6c)
how can we restrict the company codes? please suggest me any solution?
Edited by: harish rentala on May 31, 2008 5:42 AM

If the company codes are assigned through pfcg->authoriztion tab->edit->organizational levels then it should work fine.
Also check the table AGR_1252 it will show the company codes assigned to the role mentioned.

  • OIM Reports for Organisation Level

    Hi
We have configured out of the box OIM reports, and we have multiple organisations with org level admins to manger their organization.
We observe that reports allowed to these admins can see all users in OIM (with users of other organisation). Wanted to know how do we configure reports such that only org level reports are generated (I.e. Org level admins can only see reports under his portfolio/organization)
This is urgent requirement; appreciate if any one can help. Thanks in advance.

The reports use PL/SQL code so they would not leverage the standard API. It is very possible that implementing organization filtering simply was missed.
The easiest way to solve this is to simply create custom reports. Not very hard once you know have to do it but requires a little bit of initial learning effort.
Do you have any resources that have created custom reports or at least someone that knows how to code PL/SQL?
    Best regards
    /Martin

  • Segregate access to Plant within same role (Organisation level)

    Hi
I don't seem to find out whether it is possible to segregate the access to plants in the same role
I have a role which gives Full Access to all plants. One of them now is being closed down therefore needs to be locked down for changes and can only be given with display
We have about 150 roles like this so the option of creating a new role to display that specific plant is not an auspicable...
    How can I do so?
    Thanks for any hint!
    Nadia

Segregating the access within a role itself doesn't seem to be feasible.
If you want to restrict access to that plant, you need to update the roles to exclude that plant value
and setup a display role for that plant value.

  • Organisation specific Supplier Payment Terms (R12 EBS-AP)

    Hi,
In release 11 EBS you were able to set default supplier payment terms at organisation level (Payables Manager: Setup > Options > Financials), however, we have now implemented release 12 and it appears that this is no longer organisation specific (as we have multiple orgs this is causing a bit of an issue). Does anyone know if there is a way to set the default supplier payment terms at org level in R12?
    Regards
    Carl

    Hi carl,
Payment Terms are still org specific in R12. When you open the Financials Option form it in context of a particular organization. You can select the organization of your choice and enter the appropriate payment term.

  • Add sales organisation to existing material

    Hi.
I need to expand the sales organisation for an already existing material. I knew the process but have not used it in a while so now it's forgotten but I know it is possible.
    Any clues?
    Ryan

    Dear Ryan
Go to MM01, give the existing material code and also in "Copy from".  Now select the "Organisational levels" tab so that you can see a comparative screen wherein on the left side you have to define in which sales organization, you would like to create the material.  Enter the same and save.

  • MM01 material copy from at plant levele

    Hi,
I have a simple but very important question to ask about MM01 material "copy from" function.
When you copy a material at an organisational level other than general data (at plant level for exemple), SAP copies some data and left some others blank
For exemple, in "Work Scheduling" material views, it copies "Prod.Sched.Profile" data but not "Unit of issue" nor "Prod.stor.loc."  data.
What make the difference between these data ? Why all isn't copied ?
    Thanks for help
    regards
    Morgan

storage locations are plant specific customizing.
SAP cannot assume that the second plant would use the same keys like the first plant.
If SAP would copy the storage location, then it would result in an error if it is not customized for the target plant - better not to copy it.

  • Want to restrict the vendor at plant level

    Hi Experts,
As per standard SAP, once the vendor is extended to comapny code then buyer can place order in any plant of same company code. My client wants to restrict the use of vendor at plant and after some business approval, will allow to use the vendor for specifc that plant. Could you please help me, how can I acheive this ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Ajit

There is no solution for you in standard you have to develop something yourself.
It is even possible to create purchase orders before a company code view is created for a vendor master, hence it cannot be controlled via company code blocks. The block at company code will have an effect on goods receipt and invoice receipt, which is too late.
Purchasing blocks can only be set at purchasing organisation level. Even you can create a vendor with a plant level , it is not possible to set a block at this level. If this purchasing organisation serves many plants then a block will affect all plants.
only with a  purchasing organization specific responsible for a single  plant you can meet your requirement in standard with a procurement block at purchasing org level.

  • Total Replenishment days change at plant level - Materials to be automatically updated

    Hi All,
Customer has raised a new requirement stating that they want to update the Total replenishment days plant wise, based upon this maintenance automatically all the compounds should be updated.
    Existing System:
Right now they are maintaining the total replenishment days at material master level, based on this the ATP check happens.
    New Requirement:
My thought is to accommodate this requirement is through developing the BDC in such a way that the plant and no of replenishment days will be updated in the spreadsheet and the BDC will update the Material master.
Please let me know if there is any other best solution or easy way to accommodate this requirement.

""LSMW does not work in my case, since customer does not want to upload the material and update it. They want to update based on the Plant that in turn should update the material"""
Have you tried this requirement by taking MM02 as recording transaction code and even you can record with Organisation levels like Plant in LSMW..
    Pl update.

  • PFCG, derived roles, create inheritance relation for existing roles

    Dear reader,
We have many roles that differ only in the organisational levels, but were not created using the Transaction Inheritance functionality.
Because of the sheer number of these similar roles, making a change in a non-organisational field in these roles is quite laborious.
Such a change is much easier when there is an inheritance relation between a template and all dependent roles.
Is there a way to set up the inheritance relation between a template and it's dependent roles after their creation ?
    Kind Regards,

My own thinking what will happen if we combine so and so roles....
I have a other basic question regarding the field values of a A.object.As we know the one particular A.object is related to so many T.codes.Eg:assigning just 1 tcode to a role which contains 5 A.objects(those 5.A.objects are related to so many different T.codes).If we generate the profile for the role it will bring up all the mandatory field values for that specific T.code which is added.Suppose if we assign some values in the fields which are blank(maintain) or even changing the standard values(01,02 standard but deleting those values and assigning 03,04).Will the user gets accesss for the maintained/changed field values ? The reason for asking is ,as we are deleting the mandatory field values of the tcode and assigning some other values which are standard values for some other Tcodes (which are not added in the menu)
Pls excuse me if it confuses ....

  • How to create new org.level and further actions?

    Hi experts!
I need help on the follwing situation.
For better separation of industries for the marketing staff we do use the branch (e.g. food, energy, ...).
For that we want to adjust the authorizations to branch specific.
    The questions are:
    1) Is it possible to create a new organisational level "branch"?
    2) If I have a new org.level I think I have to adjust existing authorization objects. Do I only have to extend the belonging auth.objects with the new org.level?
    3) What else do I have to do if a new org.level branch is created to check authorizations on that?
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    Alex

If I read your question correctly I think you want to create a new authorization field. To get that to work you'd need to adapt a lot of software. Definately not a path to follow.
All authorization cheecks need to hard-coded into the software. Changing SAP standard software is something one wants to stay away from as long as possible. It'll keep haunting you when patching, upgrading etcetera.
If you want to 'upgrade' an existing field to become organizational a forum serach on PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE should give you pointers.

  • Create organis'l level field for auth. field that occurs in multiple object

    Hello,
When trying out PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE I ran into a problem:
    I want to have an organisational level field for BEGRU in C_STUE_BER (Auth.grp in BOM-header);
    there are other auth.objects that also have a field called BEGRU (eg M_MATE_MAR, M_MATE_MAT, F_BKKA_BPG);
we have roles that have several of these objects.
Running PFCG_ORGFIELD_CREATE leads to problems in those roles that have several of the objects with a field BEGRU. In general the values to be assigned to BEGRU in different objects is not the same.
The only solution i can think of is to have per role only one object with field BEGRU.
This would mean a serious redesign of our roles :-(.
    Is there another option?
    Thanks for your contributions.
    John Hermans

Another option is to create transactions for the BEGRU and maintain SU24 for them.
But that is not scalable for large BEGRU values and has an implication for menus and number of transactions, in addition to the number of roles...
But BEGRU fields should be used with caution, as the objects which use them are mostly not intended to be scalable (like P_PERNR is scalable....) so Su24 or well documentented "Maintained" authorizations might be an option to switch to.
    Cheers,
    Julius
