MM01 material copy from at plant levele

Hi,
I have a simple but very important question to ask about MM01 material "copy from" function.
When you copy a material at an organisational level other than general data (at plant level for exemple), SAP copies some data and left some others blank
For exemple, in "Work Scheduling" material views, it copies "Prod.Sched.Profile" data but not "Unit of issue" nor "Prod.stor.loc."  data.
What make the difference between these data ? Why all isn't copied ?
Thanks for help
regards
Morgan

storage locations are plant specific customizing.
SAP cannot assume that the second plant would use the same keys like the first plant.
If SAP would copy the storage location, then it would result in an error if it is not customized for the target plant - better not to copy it.

  • Blocking material for sale at plant level

    Hi,
Can you please help me whether we can block the material for sale at plant level.
We can block the material in sales organization view --> DChain-spec. status as BLOCKED FOR SALE , but it wil block sales of the material for all the plants in the sales organization.
Please help whether we can go ahead at plant level.

the posting block for goods issues can already be reached with a material status, so no phyiscal inventory document necessary.
What you could try is to control the usage by a userexit.
E.g.  you define a sales status AND a material status, just as table entry without any customizing in detail.
and in the userexit you check for the combination of sales status and material status, and if your material has this combination then send a error message to the user.

  • Material transfer from one plant to another

    Hi expert
i am transfer material from one plant to another , for the same i have  created a vendor in that i have assigned supplying plant, and in the Purchase order, i am need to use inventoried tax code.
For the same i have done transfer with 351 and i did migo , but i didnt get  FI document for 101 movement
If it is development, how do we acheive this.
Let me know if you need more details on this. Appreciate your possible solutions to this.

For the stock transfer within two plants in the same company code, Accounting document gets generated on doing goods issue.
Supplying Plant Stock/Account BSX gets credited
Receiving Plant Stock BSX gets debit.
After that its stock in transit for the receiving plant and by doing goods receipt you are just taking goods in so the accoun ting document does not get generated again while doing GRN.
If it is Company Code, it will be  sale & purchase concept  where in  vendor & customer master are created in respective plant and the accounting entries for that scenario will be
    At the supplying plant
    Stock Account Credited
Cost of Goods sold Acc Debited
    At Receiving plant
    Stock Account Debited
    GR/IR Clearing Acc Credited

  • How to Block the material Item from the Po level?

    Hi,
Is it possible to block the item stock from the PO level?
Currently client request to block the material on certain good receipt only, that's why they want to control in the PO.
With the field stock type in PO defaulted to Unrestricted is good for them as they only need to change the stock type to block if they found out that that particular item need to be blocked.
The problem that i'm facing now is the stock type in PO is for display only, but when i check in OMF4, Quality Inspection, it was set as opt. Entry. Is there other places that i still need to change?
Beside change the stock type in PO, is there any other work around? For example, such as can we set a message pop up from the item text in the PO indicate that this item should be recieve as block stock when the store personnel do the GR or other work around?
    Thanks!

    hi
as per ur requriments certain goods receipts only go for block stock.
for that in that purchase orders w r t line items take stock type as a block stock.
if u want to restrict the material no purchasing at different u can select Xplant material status in material purchasing view or material type level oms2.

  • Material master fields on plant level

    Hi all,
is it possible that i can restrict fields on plant level, like one material type one field i want mand. in one plant and optional in other plant.
    regards,
    qsm sap

    hi,
    Yes, it posible:
    go to SPRO
    Logistics - General-> Material Master->Field Selection->Define Plant-Specific Field Selection and Plant-Specific Screen Selection (OMSA)
see the settings for the plant in field reference - you need a diferent reference to the diferent plants (group together similar plants - all the ones that you want the field to be mandetory should have the same field reference)
now go to OMS9 or OMSR
and set the field as mandetory for the field reference you have made in OMSA
    good luck

  • Material Issued from other Plants

    Hi All,
    I have 2 question here.
I have created a STPO with delivery date say 12.09.2009 from my plant ABC to the Plant XYZ and 140 qty, For this XYZ plant has issued material on 15.09.2009 around 100 qty.,
Now I am looking for the report ME2W to find out what are all the materials has supplied by other plant till 14.09.2009.
but as per the report ME2W it is having I/P option as delivery date, so if i put delivery date between 01.09.2009 to 14.09.2009, it is showing  all the material which is issued on after 14.09.2009 also as i have put the delivery date and also it is checking as per delivery date.
    Question:
    1. How to get these reports ie., materials issued as per issued date or posting date not as per delivery date or not as per material code---- any transaction available for this.
    2. one more i come across here in STPO is that, if i create 100 qty of PO but it is allowing to issue more than the PO qty, say if i create Po with 100 Qty but other plant can issue more than 100 ie.,>100.
Is thr any settings available to make such the system should not allow to issue more than the PO qty.
Please help me out on this.

    Thr are 3 plants-  Plant A,Plant B, Plant C.
    ST happens b/w A and B, A & C, B& C and Visa versa.
Now I want to know what are all the ST happens between Plant A and Plant B, where Plant A has supplied some material  to plant B on some day(ie., 351 on posting day),say i dont know material i know only the dates.I cant use MB51, is thr any other report i can get.
    Pls help me out.

  • Material Classification view at plant level

My company has multiple plants set up with materials and I would like to know on the business side if there is a way to tell if the Classification view tab is missing for plant & material.
I've tried using SE16 MARA, table view, but it show materials at the client level with Classification view but not set up at the plant level. Tks,

    Dear Friend
Which Class type are you using in the classification view? What batch classification you can use is dependent on the batch level you have chosen.
E.g. if your batch level is plant, then you have 022 batch class, While for material and client level you have Class Type 023. If you are going by the above e.g then you should be looking in to tables like MCHA, MCHB..........
You might be interested in following tables if you are using Classification.
    KLAH Class Header Data
    KLAT Classes: long texts
    KSML Characteristics of a Class
    AUSP Characteristic values
KSSK Allocation Table: Object to Class
    CABN Characteristic
    CAWN Characteristic values

  • Material sourced from multiple plants

    Hi all
I have a Plant A which sources material from Plant B, Plant C, and Plant D. We use STOs to transfer material from Plant B,C,D to Plant A. If I use a Special procurement key then I can only define one of the source plants. What is the solution for this?
    Will Quota arrangement work?
    thanks a lot

    John,
Special procurement key is mainly useful for planning.  It does not prevent you from sourcing from another plant, it only sets that one plant will be defaulted as a source.
So, you can set up STOs from all three plants.  Set your SPK for the 'most likely' plant.  If a planner wishes to override the MRP created Purchase reqs, he can do so by manually entering a new source plant in the Purchase req.
Now, if your intention is to have MRP automatically source from all three plants, according to some fixed ratio, then remove the SPK from the Material Master, and create Purchase Info Records for all three source plant vendors.  Then, enter these Purchase info records into a quota arrangement, according to the ratios you wish to procure by.

  • Material planning from another plant

    Hi,
    Can anyone answer me
I am planning for X in plant P1
There is a material in Plant P2 and the same material added in BOM for X but the material is not maintained in plant P1
    How this can be managed
    shrish

    Hi,
For that u have to create same material in both plants.
If it is in BOM of X, you can use special peocurement key for component, i.e.production in alternate plant, purchasing from alternate plant, etc.
So dependent requirement will be created in another plant for that material.

  • About the effect for batch level conversion from material to plant level

    Dears,
Now  we use batch management at material level in our system, now we want to change to batch level from material level to plant level, what effects or risks it will bring during the process of conversion?
    Thanks a lot
    Zhongkai

    Hi
check the following SAP help link it is very helpful:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/es/d2/1d4b6e5733d1118b3f0060b03ca329/content.htm
at the link you can find the following
Specify batch level and activate status management
In this IMG activity, you specify the following:
the level at which batch numbers are unique
whether batch status management is active in the client
the plants in which batch status management is active
the initial status of new batches
    Batch level
Batch numbers can be unique at the following levels:
    at plant level
    at material level
at client level for a material
If you choose plant level, the batch number is unique in conjunction with the respective material and the plant. If you choose material level, the batch number is unique together with the material. At client level, the batch number is unique in the whole client.
To change the batch level, you have to start a conversion program. This program first checks whether conversion is possible and outputs an error log containing all batch numbers that occur more than once at the new level. Now you need to manually transfer these batch records to numbers within Inventory Management using a transfer posting 'material to material'.
If you change the level from plant level to a higher level, it is possible that batches with the same batch numbers in different plants are actually identical. In this case, all you have to do is remove stocks (including previous period stocks) so that all batches with the same batch numbers, except one, can be reorganized.
When you convert from plant level to material level, the material is then to be handled in batches in all plants in which it is defined.
    Standard settings
In the standard R/3 System, batches are unique at plant level.
    Activities
To change the batch level, proceed as follows:
          1. Choose the level at which you want your batches to be unique.
          2. Save the new settings and choose Back.
          3. Select function Batch level -> Conversion.
          4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.
    Further notes
Note that you cannot reset conversion from plant level to a higher level in the standard.
If you create a client by copying an existing client, initially, there are no settings in the target client at batch level. The system makes the settings in the target client only when you have carried out an activity (maintaining master data or posting a goods movement, for example).
    SETTINGS BEFORE/AFTER CLIENT COPY:
    Source client Target client
    Client level Material level
    Material level Material level
    Plant level Plant level
    Batch status management
Batch status management is an additional function provided by the standard R/3 System.
    Standard settings
Batch status management is not active in the standard R/3 system.
    Activities
To activate batch status management, proceed as follows:
          1. Choose Batch status management active.
          2. Save the new setting and choose Back.
          3. Choose Batch status management -> conversion.
          4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.
    Further notes
Batch status management is linked to the batch level. At material and at plant level, the status management settings are valid within the client, that is for all plants. However, if you have defined batches to be unique at plant level, you have to select the plants in which status management is to be active using function Plants with status management.
If you activate status management, all existing batches are assigned status 'unrestricted'. If you deactivate status management, the systems transfers all restricted batches to unrestricted stock within conversion. Restricted stock only exists if status management is active.
If you create a client by copying an existing client, status management is automatically activated if batches exist in the target client, independent of the settings in the source client. If no batches exist in the target client, it is not activated. In this case, you have to activate or deactivate status management manually, if required.
    Plants with batch status management
    Activities
To select the plants in which status management is to be active, proceed as follows:
          1. Set characteristic Batch status management for those plants in which batch status management is to be active.
          2. Save your settings and choose function Back.
          3. Choose function Batch status management -> conversion
          4. If necessary, carry out the conversion in test mode first.
Initial status of a new batch
Using this function, you can specify for each material type which initial status new batches are to be assigned. However, if you use a quality management system, this specifies the status of the batches.
    Hope it will help
