Photo:getRawMetadata( "gpsAltitude") always returns a positive value

I noticed, both on Windows 7 and Apple OS X 10.9 that calling the photo:getRawMetadata( "gpsAltitude") always returns a positive value.
Also when Lightroom in the user interface displays a negative value.
The strange thing is that the photo:getFormattedMetadata( "gpsAltitude") returns the right value, however formatted.
I reported the bug, see Lightroom 5 SDK photo:getRawMetadata( "gpsAltitude") gives always positive value also when it should be negative
I thought to document it also here for those who walk into this also.

Yes, this will be a good idea! Please include!
In general, if it will be possible to access (read/write) all EXIF tags with its name will be good. Also true for IPTC/IIM tags.
Maybe, what someone can do with Geo-Tagging, this external program can give some very good ideas: http://www.geosetter.de
A simple LUA scripts, which also uses the Exiftool can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/geotag-lightroom-plugin/
But if sometimes LR will have functionalities like GeoSetter, this will be the best solution. Maybe, in a few years, every camera will have built-in GPS hardware, but if you look at GeoSetter, there is much more in Geo-Tagging than a GPS coordinate. I prefer, to have only one tool in my Workflow... And I like to see LR here. ;-)

  • GUID generation issue, SYSUUID always returns the same value.

    Hi,
    I'm using "SELECT SYSUUID FROM DUMMY" to get a guid value but it always return the same value.
    What should I do to get a unique value each time I execute the query above.
    Thanks.

    I thought I had the same problem and I found that if you generate multiple UUID's in the same SQL, it they will be the same.  If you make multiple calls, you should get multiple UUID's.
    Try this:
    SELECT SYSUUID as UUID1 FROM DUMMY;
    SELECT SYSUUID as UUID2 FROM DUMMY;
    I get the following results:
    UUID1 = 538632FD7EA20426E10000000A3F10A9
    UUID2 = 538632FE7EA20426E10000000A3F10A9
    Notice that the strings look almost identical, but the 8th character on UUID1 is a D and the 8th on UUID2 is a E.

  • Storing a position value from the previous frame

    Hey guys,
    So, I'm trying to assign the X value a null object had at the previous frame so I can continue to subtract a number from it cumulatively. I'm trying to assign it to a variable (prevframe). I'm not sure where I'm going wrong, but the line I'm trying to do it on is written as follows:
    prevframe = transform.xPosition.valueAtTime(time-(1/24))
    So in my mind, this should be taking a look at the value of X on the null, then looking back in time to figure out what it's value was on the previous frame (my frame rate is 24, so I'm dividing 1 second in to 24 pieces and telling it to subtract that much from the current time), and assigning whatever that returns to the variable. But it's just returning a static value, even though I'm subtracting from it. I feel like it's not the correct syntax, but I really have no idea.
    I want to continue to subtract a value which is based on the velocity of another object from this, which I have worked out, I just can't figure out how to reference what this nulls X position was in the previous frame so it always returns the same value until all motion has stopped. The formula the variable is being run through looks like:
    finalposition = prevframe - camvelocity
    Which is then assigned to the final X position of the null object.
    So, I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I hope I've provided enough information to help someone wrap their head around this and hopefully help me solve it.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Seth

    Sorry it was confusing. Let me try to clarify. My null object has a starting point, which is an X value of 2020. For each frame the camera is moving, I want to subtract the cameras velocity from 2020, but I want it to be cumulative. So say the camera is moving linearly at 20 px per frame. On the first frame this starts, the value it will return is 2000. Then on the next frame I'd like it to subtract 20 from the new X value of 2000, but it continues to look at 2020 as the value to be subtracted from. So there isn't any accumulation of this X position getting lower and lower, it just gets to 2000 and stops.
    When I plugged in your code I was getting the same result. I'm not sure if it's just not meant to work the way I was thinking I'd like it to, but…
    What I'm trying to accomplish is kinda weird though. I'm trying to get this null, which is a parent to some glares nested in a composition, to take both camera movement and actual composition movement in to account as it drives the position of the glare objects. I wanted to see if the composition was moving faster in the main timeline, or the camera, and then add or subtract the faster velocity to the position of the null object, and have it do that continuously rather than to the null objects starting value and nothing else. so 2020 - 20 - 20 - 20 - 20 ect., with a 20 (or whatever the velocity works out to be) for each frame things remain in motion.
    I want it to remain based on expressions just because I'm going to have a lot of these panels with glares, and hand keyframing each of them isn't something I'll have time to do, so I just want it to be based off of those two movements.
    I think I'm going to take a different approach though. I think I'm trying to do too much with this expression that can be done in different ways. Instead of having one null I'm going to have two, and I'll have an expression within my glare objects to decide which ones coordinates to use as a parent still based on velocity.

  • Boolean User Properties always returns TRUE

    Hi, I am trying to get some propeties from the user on the AD and I found out with the following issue, all the boolean attributes always return TRUE as value. The Code that I am using to extract them is the following
    foreach ($objUser in $objUsers)
     $bolPasswordNeverExpires = [boolean] $objUser.Properties['PasswordNeverExpires'];
     $bolEnabled = [boolean] $objUser.Properties['Enabled'];
     $bolAccountExpired = [boolean] $objUser.Properties['AccountExpired'];
    Could you please guide me into the proper direction to solve it. I looked up in most of powershell related topic and did not find a way to solve it. I even attempt using UserAccountControl Attribute to check Enabled status do not matter agains which value
    I check it, it always returns TRUE.

    Thank´s for the tip. Unluckily when I attempt it, if I left only
    $objUsers.PasswordNeverExpires or $objUsers.Enabled, it only return whites spaces and no comparison from True or False is feasible.
    If I change it to [boolean] $objUsers.PasswordNeverExpires or $objUsers.Enabled instead of using the Properties option, it returns False for all values.
    I attempt to use the UserAccountControl field for look up the property Ex: (objUser.UserAccountControl AND 2) for Enabled and it also returns True for all situation
    I look up for the properties on the ISE interface and the only ones displayed are the following ones:
    distinguishedname
    displayname
    whencreated
    samaccountname
    sn
    accountexpires
    pwdlastset
    samaccounttype
    adspath
    useraccountcontrol
    whenchanged
    cn
    userprincipalname
    lastlogontimestamp
    msds-user-account-control-computed
    May it be an issue with the filter that does not load the specified properties?

  • Cubeset to only return positive values?

    Yet another cube formula question... In Excel 2010, no powerpivot or olap pivottable extensions, this is a pure Excel project.
    I am building various cubeset, cubemember, and cubevalue formulas to validate an ETL process.
    Question:
    I need to create a cubeset that only returns the members of a cube that have positive values for a specific measure. This cubeset will then be one of several cubesets that gets fed into a cubevalue formula that would otherwise exceed the 255 char limit.
    I can create a cubeset for the overall measure:
    =CUBESET("MyCube","[Measures].[RetailPrice]")
    but haven't found the right syntax for limiting results to only those that have positive values, I think it would be something like:
    =CUBESET("MyCube","FILTER[Measures].[RetailPrice],[Measures].[RetailPrice]>0")
    This syntax actually doesn't return an error, so maybe it is valid syntax... but when I wrap it in a simple cubevalue statement,
    =CUBEVALUE("MyCube", A2)       where A2 is the Cubeset above, or if I also add date range and other filters,
    I get a #Value error, indicating that "the tuple is invalid" per
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/excel-help/cubevalue-function-HA010342391.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010342384
    I'm still a newbie with the cubeformula syntax and MDX, so I appreciate any suggestions!

    Hi Rohit-
    The cube has a net value of 1220 for the measure I'm trying to calculate (when I don't filter on > or < zero).
    I tried my formula both ways (looking for just positive, and just negative values) and while both work in the standalone cubeset formula, neither return a value when I use it in a cubevalue formula.
    My suspicion, other than a syntax error, is that this may have something to do with me trying to filter on the measure value(s), instead of a dimension- which I think must be possible, but again maybe not with this syntax.
    Let's assume that we had a total of 1280 in retail price, but due to a few returns, we have a few records that show value of -60. If we were looking at profitability, the 1220 is what matters. If we are looking at "dollars exchanged" as a variable expense
    driver of some other measure, then we'd actually want the absolute value of retail price (1280+60 = 1340). I hadn't been able to get the MDX ABS to work, so this was my attempt to grab the positive and negative numbers separately, and then add them to get
    the equivalent of ABS.
    In this case, slicers aren't a desirable option due to how the report is being constructed (I've used slicers in other reports with cubeformulas, but with Excel 2010 I have to have an extra pivot table to get the slicer value, which then has to get fed into my
    cubeform and I'm back at step 1, getting it to work in the cubeformula syntax)
    Thanks!

  • Xcontrol always returns default value

    I have an Xcontrol that holds an enum in the data in shift register. I have a control on the Xcontrol and that should update the value that will be returned whent the control is read, but the control only ever returns the default value of the enum. I have tried updating the value in the data in shift register, and the data in element of the display state in shift register, and neither works.  I can change the Xcontrol using the value propery of a property node. How do I do the same thing with a front panel control of the Xcontrol?

    Post your code so we can see what you're doing.  We might be able to give some advice then.

  • Reg Exp always returning false value

    Hi,
    Below is my code. I want to restrict the values to only alphabets and numbers and not special char.
    But the below condition fails on a positive value also. Ex: ABCD, abcd, 1234. These should be acceptable.
    Is the reg exp wrong?

    why does getParameter always return null??? whats wrong?

    I don't know. However, I suspect that because you have a tag with the same name as 'title', its causing a name conflict. Chnage the name to something else. If it works, then that's the likely explaination.

  • Java always returns 15 minutes greater than the current time.

    Hi,
    I am using Microsoft Windows Server 2003R2,Standard X64 edition with Service Pack 2 and jdk1.6.0-03.
    Java always returns time 15 minutes greater than the current system time.
    eg:
    SimpleDateFormat simpleDateFormat=new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss");
    System.out.println("Now time: "+simpleDateFormat.format(new Date()));
    System.out.println("Now time: "+new Date());The output of the program is :
    Now time: 2008-12-22 18:47:04
    Now time: Mon Dec 22 18:47:04 NPT 2008
    When my actual system time is 6:32 PM or (18:32)
    I have checked the current time with other programming languages like python and it always returns the actual date and time.
    Note: To my observation java is always utilizing a time which is 15 minutes greater than the current time even for its log.
    Thanks,
    Rajeswari (Msys)

    I think a more practical time machine would be one that actually travels back in time rather than forward (by 15 minutes). Sounds like it needs some more work.
    Anyway, I suggest changing the system time on your computer to some other value (say, 2 hours ahead), then running the program again. If its off by 2 hours and 15 minutes, its getting the time from your computer. However, if its still off by only 15 minutes (from your wristwatch's time), then its getting the time form somehere other than the computer clock.

    The above logic works fine for the Standard type PO's where the difference between the old value and new value is determined using FM "BBP_PD_PO_GETDETAIL"  by passing the GUID (for the change version and the active vesion) obtained at runtime in the BADI.
    However for the limit type PO's,whenevr I change the total value for the Limit item,I see that the FM "BBP_PD_PO_GETDETAIL" doesnt return the changed value but  always returns blank!
    Bcause I need to check bth the values i.e. Custom text set to "YES" as well as Total value diff ,I cant use the start conditions in tcode SWB_COND.ALso I need to fetch the approvers based on the price diff so I need this value at runtime in the BADI using the FM "BBP_PD_PO_GETDETAIL".
    Please advise why the FM is not returning the changed values for the Limit type PO and is there any other way(other table/FM) to get the changed value at runtime for the LIMIT type PO.
    Thanks for your time.

    Thanks for the rpely.
    Yes.I am using the GUID available at runtime in the  BADI "BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI" which is the current change version GUID.I tried using that GUID to get the data from both FM as well as CDHDR and CDPOS tables.
    I think this is something related to LImit type PO because for Standard type PO's the FM returns the corretc changed value (as in the screen) for the change version GUID.I fail to understand why the changed values are shwon on the screen but are not stored anywhere in the system before actually ordering the PO!

  • Issue with Report to get Position value for each Class ID.

    Hello Experts,
    m working on a report where I want Position values as on date.
    for an entered date report should give position value(Amount for transaction) for each class Id.
    I m trying using the exit variable but could not reach the output.
    For date I created an exit variable which shoud return the latest position for each class Id.
    Now this exit variable is "ready for Input" . when I debug my code it takes i_step =3 and i_vanm= " " after i_step = 1 and i_vnam = "<variablename>"
    how do I go about to get the solution.
    Guide me to come up with desired output.

  • Display only positive values for a particular Keyfigure

    Hi..
    (Sorry, I accidentally posted this also in Datawarehousing forum, actually it related to BeX forum).
    For a particular column(keyfigure) in my report, the user wants to display only positive values.
    I used the formula from the one of the forums
    (Keyfig > 0)* Keyfig.
    This displays only positive values in the column as required. But, the result for this column is also affected. As the result is negative, it shows, zero in the result for this column.
    Is there a way in which the result will not be affected by the formula?
    I went into the properties of the particular keyfigure and chose Calculate Result as -> Summation.
    It throws out the following error message
    'Calculating result as...' was not executed
    Message no. BRAIN141
    Diagnosis
    The function 'Calculate Results as ...' could not be used in all
    instances.
    The recalculation of a result cell always occurs based on the set of
    detailed cells subordinated to this cell. This is the most detailed
    level of the drilldown. Therefore it is not posible to recalculate in
    hierarchical lists. The calculation of a results cell is not performed
    if a cell or column with an expand symbol is assigned beneath it.
    Otherwise the newly calculated result is changed every time one of its
    lower-level nodes is expanded. This is not supported for technical
    reasons and would also only confuse users.
    Note, however, that calculating with "Suppress Results" is always
    executed because the restriction described above does not apply in this
    case.
    NOTE:
    The query shows the keyfigure values for a selected title, for profit center and territory hierarchies.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sai.

    Hi Deepu,
    Thanks for the reply. I tried with ur formula.
    LEAF(keyfig) gives all values "zero" for that particular column including the result.
    NOT LEAF(keyfig) gives all values "one" for that particular column including the result.
    So, ur formula gives the same values as of the present column values.

    As soon as an output condition is defined for a characteristic (here

        the output condition. If a result cell of this type is later deleted by
        the condition, all the lower-level detail and result cells in its
        drilldown are suppressed. Because the result cell is suppressed the
        Title rows are then omitted from Profit Center.
    In extreme cases this can lead to an entirely empty list being
