Xcontrol always returns default value

I have an Xcontrol that holds an enum in the data in shift register. I have a control on the Xcontrol and that should update the value that will be returned whent the control is read, but the control only ever returns the default value of the enum. I have tried updating the value in the data in shift register, and the data in element of the display state in shift register, and neither works.  I can change the Xcontrol using the value propery of a property node. How do I do the same thing with a front panel control of the Xcontrol?

Post your code so we can see what you're doing.  We might be able to give some advice then.

  • JDBC returning default values !! Help Required

    There are certain fields in a particular table which are of type integer and these fields in teh database have a value of null ( database null)
    Even, When I try to retreive the value of the field using getString method of the ResultSet, the value returned is the default value (0) , is there any way to get the
    actual value ( null) ? . Is there any way to avoid getting the default values ?
    Regards,
    Harsha

    You meant getInt(), not getString(), right?
    The getInt() method has to return an int, and since that isn't an object, Java doesn't have the concept of "null" for it. So what you do is, after you call getInt() on the ResultSet, you call wasNull() and that returns true if the zero was really a null.

  • Reg Exp always returning false value

    Hi,
    Below is my code. I want to restrict the values to only alphabets and numbers and not special char.
    But the below condition fails on a positive value also. Ex: ABCD, abcd, 1234. These should be acceptable.
    Is the reg exp wrong?
    private var special_char:RegExp = /^[A-Za-z0-9]*$/;
                                  private function validateSpecialChar(inputValue:String):Boolean {
                                            if (special_char.test(inputValue))

                                            else

  • TableCombos[finalj].getSelectedIndex() always returns initial value

    Hello.
    I have a JPanel class with an array of JComboboxes. The combos are filled in from an SQL database at the JPanel launch, and the indexes are selected also based on a database. However, when I change the combo selection, the action fires, but getSelectedIndex() on the combo just changed returns the original selection number.
    I tried using the code below to try and catch the loss of the selection:
    this.tableCombos[finalj].addActionListener(new java.awt.event.ActionListener() {
    public void actionPerformed (ActionEvent e){
    System.out.println(table.getColumnAt(finalj)+" (combo["+finalj+"]) changed: " + tableCombos[finalj].getSelectedIndex() + " selected");
    The selection item visually changes, while the selectIndex returns as the original selection, not the new one. what could be causing this?
    TIA,
    - aenik

    You should use an ItemListener (see attached sample working code) instead of overriding the actionPerformed() method. The following is an excerpt from the JComboBox class's actionPerformed() method:
    This method is public as an implementation side effect. do not call or override.

    create table r_dummy_1 (a number);

  • Standar ws ProjectByPartyQueryResponse_In is not returning any values

    Hi gurus,
      I'm trying to use the standar webservice ProjectByPartyQueryResponse_In in our landscape in order to get all the projects related to the person responsible for the project but the web service is not returning any values.
    When I execute the service -using soapui- with the following values (or any other value for that matters):
    <PartyID>20000143</PartyID>
    <PartyRoleCode>ZA</PartyRoleCode>
    The web service always returns :
           <Log>
                <BusinessDocumentProcessingResultCode>5</BusinessDocumentProcessingResultCode>
                <MaximumLogItemSeverityCode>3</MaximumLogItemSeverityCode>
                <Item>
                   <TypeID>002(ECC_SE_COMMON)</TypeID>
                   <SeverityCode>3</SeverityCode>
                   <Note>No records returned for ZA 0020000143</Note>
                </Item>
             </Log>
    The party Id exists and also de party role code and there is at least one project that has that party with that role. I'm sure because I use other web service to find a project by id and in the result the project has the <Party> section with those values.
    I was looking for solutions, notes, threads in forums with no success, then i decided to debug the webservice and I did find the following line in the webservice code.
      SELECT objnr INTO TABLE it_data FROM ihpa
      WHERE  parvw = role_code AND
             parnr = party_id AND
             obtyp = 'PDN'.
    when that line executes the select always returns 0 values, then I look in the table IHPA using the SE16 without any filter and I found that my records exists!! but the select does not get it. I was wondering why the select is not working and then I filter the data in the SE16 using the same values that the query does
    for example:
    PARVW= ZA
    PARNR = 20000143
    OBTYP = PDN
    And I was surprised when the SE16 did not found any value even I was seeing in the previous screen with no filters!!!! And I supouse thats why the webservice is not working. I started making filters one by one, for example firts filtering just de PARVW = ZA and works, but when I filter just the PARNR =  20000143 the SE16 can't find any value, just when I put an * at the end of the number the SE16 returns all the values expected, Im guessing that the fields in the database has blanks at the end but this is a standar table and a standar program.
    Have any of you had the same problem? is there anything that I can do? does anyone knows if this is an unkown bug? becaus I could'n find any note on the marketplace.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Gustavo Balboa

    Hi!
      The problem were solved but not using the Badi, because the badi only let you change the value of the var party_id and that var is declared as PARNR (of type numeric with length 10), and no mater wat you do the two 00 can´t be removed.
      We solved the problem with an enhancement point in the code at the method "party_get_data", look at the beginin and at the end. We just change the type of var used for party_id.. now we use a CHAR one insted the numeric used by the original code.
    And we repeat the select...
    Thank you very much for the help.

  • Return array value based on selection criteria

    I have one data field that holds text data similar to below:
    "Meeting Room 1 (Projector), Meeting Room 2 (Whiteboard), Meeting Room 3 (Video Conferencing)"
    "Meeting Room 3 (LCD Display), Meeting Room 1 (Video Conferencing), Meeting Room 2 (Whiteboard)"
    The meeting rooms are not always in the same order, I cant count on Meeting Room 1 being followed by Meeting Room 2 etc.
    My objective is to only return the meeting room that has the Whiteboard.
    I'm aware that I can use SPLIT to seperate the Meeting Rooms by the comma and place their components into an array.
    What I'm not sure how to do is return the meeting room with the Whiteboard when that could be [1] in the Array or [2] or [3] in the array.
    I need to return the array value based on its contents. Could someone help me 'search' the array created by the SPLIT command and always return that value with the word 'Whiteboard'

    This works
    whileprintingrecords;
    global stringvar x:='';
    global numbervar n:=1;
    While n <= Ubound(split('......, Meeting Room X (Whiteboard),..............', ",")) Do
    if split('..........., Meeting Room X (Whiteboard), ............', ",")[n] like '*Whiteboard*'
    then x:=split('.............., Meeting Room X (Whiteboard), ..............', ",")[n];
    n := n + 1;
    x;
    Just replace my string with your field.

  • XControl dynamic default value

    Hello,
    Do you know how to make a XControl give a numeric value like Tick Count (ms) ? I think that is not that obvious. Tick Count is typically a node which value changes at every moment based on external parameters.
    See the attached example. When a VI containing the XControl is "Run when opened" then the returned value is always zero, instead of Tick Count. This is related to the default value of the XControl data extracted on the Block Diagram before the Facade VI is called. Note that I need to use a XControl for other reasons, not a SubVI for instance or else.
    Does anywone know how overcome this zero systematic value (still using a XControl) ?
    Best regards

    Hello,
    You can
    remark that when the VI was load one time and that you don't close LabVIEW, you
    can reduce the delay because the Xcontrol is already in memory. But you need to
    keep a delay due to the redrawing of the Xcontrol. When you use a lot of
    Xcontrol or a big one, it's better to preload the xcontrol before using it to
    reduce the launch time.

    OK enlighten me, how to do such a thing for an executable. Why can't the owning VI wait on the XControls?

  • Xcontrol default value

    I've been making my first several XControls and I have an issue that I cannot figure out.
    I have an array in one of my XControls which is supposed to always have 4 elements in it.  The problem is that even if I create the type defs with 4 elements and have it set to the default value, when I drop the XControl in a VI, the array is empty.
    As far as I can tell, everywhere I can think of where the XControl may get its default value has the array of 4 elements set as the default value.  I have attached a small example which illustrates my problem.  The Data is a simple 4 element array of {1,2,3,4}.  The Fascade only displays the Data on a Data Change event.  A pop-up will display whenever a Data Change event occurs.
    My expectation is that I drop the XControl on a VI and get a Data Change Event and the array indicator would show the default value of the Data type, i.e. {1,2,3,4}.  WHat I get is a Data Change Event, and the arry is empty.
    I appreciate any help I can get.

    Yes, in the init facade VI, you should set this value.
    To detect whether you have a drop, check the previous version cluster, if that is 0.0.0.0 you have an initial drop event.
    Changing the default version of a TD and hoping it is applied to all clients is a bad idea.

  • Default hostnameverifier always returns false ...

    Hi,
    I am trying to run wsdl2java by supplying an https URL. The JVM args that I am using are:
    javax.net.ssl.trustStore=E:/Romil/projects/AirDeccanPlugin/localhost.ks
    java.protocol.handler.pkgs=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol
    On running wsdl2java, I end up getting the following exception:
    java.io.IOException: wrong hostname : should be <...>
    I've verified that the hostname (IP address) in the URL exactly matches the CN (IP address) in the server certificate .
    When I look at the JSSE code, it seems like the default HostnameVerifier always returns "false".
    I also couldnt figure out a non-programatical way of supplying my own
    HostnameVerfier to JSSE that returns a "true"
    Any solutions/thoughts ?
    Thanks and regards,

    try this code before creating a connection
    com.sun.net.ssl.HostnameVerifier hv=new com.sun.net.ssl.HostnameVerifier() {

  • Photo:getRawMetadata( "gpsAltitude") always returns a positive value

    I noticed, both on Windows 7 and Apple OS X 10.9 that calling the photo:getRawMetadata( "gpsAltitude") always returns a positive value.
    Also when Lightroom in the user interface displays a negative value.
    The strange thing is that the photo:getFormattedMetadata( "gpsAltitude") returns the right value, however formatted.
    I reported the bug, see Lightroom 5 SDK photo:getRawMetadata( "gpsAltitude") gives always positive value also when it should be negative
    I thought to document it also here for those who walk into this also.

    Yes, this will be a good idea! Please include!
    In general, if it will be possible to access (read/write) all EXIF tags with its name will be good. Also true for IPTC/IIM tags.
    Maybe, what someone can do with Geo-Tagging, this external program can give some very good ideas: http://www.geosetter.de
    A simple LUA scripts, which also uses the Exiftool can be found here:
    http://code.google.com/p/geotag-lightroom-plugin/
    But if sometimes LR will have functionalities like GeoSetter, this will be the best solution. Maybe, in a few years, every camera will have built-in GPS hardware, but if you look at GeoSetter, there is much more in Geo-Tagging than a GPS coordinate. I prefer, to have only one tool in my Workflow... And I like to see LR here. ;-)

  • GUID generation issue, SYSUUID always returns the same value.

    Hi,
    I'm using "SELECT SYSUUID FROM DUMMY" to get a guid value but it always return the same value.
    What should I do to get a unique value each time I execute the query above.
    Thanks.

    I thought I had the same problem and I found that if you generate multiple UUID's in the same SQL, it they will be the same.  If you make multiple calls, you should get multiple UUID's.
    Try this:
    SELECT SYSUUID as UUID1 FROM DUMMY;
    SELECT SYSUUID as UUID2 FROM DUMMY;
    I get the following results:
    UUID1 = 538632FD7EA20426E10000000A3F10A9
    UUID2 = 538632FE7EA20426E10000000A3F10A9
    Notice that the strings look almost identical, but the 8th character on UUID1 is a D and the 8th on UUID2 is a E.

  • Custom CAPI service - default value of varchar2 parameter

    I have a Custom CAPI Service function. That function has a varchar2 parameter (argument) and I wish to set a default value NULL for that parameter.
    I set Default=null, and when I generate CAPI package, my function in that package looks like this (notice the quotation marks around null):
    function cs_cjn_prod_cijena
    ( p_nacin_prodaje in varchar2 default 'null'
    return number
    is ...
    And it should look like this:
    function cs_cjn_prod_cijena
    ( p_nacin_prodaje in varchar2 default null
    return number
    is ...
    I tried setting Default Value Type to Literal, Database Function Call, Client Function Call, but it's always the same thing.
    If that parameter was number or date it would generate ok.
    It seems like the bug in "Generate CAPI Definition" Headstart Utility.
    I know that I can make my function's code to treat the string 'null' as a null default value, but I'd like to have a "real" null as a default value.
    Does anybody have a solution for this?
    Thanks!
    Dalibor

    Marcel,
    Thank you for your answer, but it didn't help. I have already tried using Database Function Call. This time I tried deleting the CAPI package from repository before generating it again, like you suggested, but it didn't help.
    I still get: p_nacin_prodaje in varchar2 default 'null'
    Which version of Create CAPI Definition utility do you have?
    My version is: HSU_CAPI, Revision: 6.5.2.0 ("Help/About This Utility" in Headstart Utilities application)
    Thanks again,

  • Problem using default value of report parameter 1 to validate parameter 2 passed in to report

    I am having a problem with an SSRS report using the default value of report parameter 1 to validate parameter 2 passed in to report (via C#) instead of using the value of parameter 1 that is also passed into the report.  Here are the
    simplified details:
    Using SSDT, SQL Server 2008 R2
    SSRS report has 2 parameters:
    P1 -- text, hidden, default value 'R1', ... front-end C# code can pass 'R2' or 'R1'
    P2 -- text, allows multiple values, list of available values provided by stored procedure (sproc_list) that takes P1 value as a parameter.  Hence, sproc_list either provides a list for P1 = 'R1' or P1 = 'R2'.
    List for P1 = 'R1' is 'A', 'B', 'C'
    List for P1 = 'R2' is 'A', 'B', 'D'
    Values for P1 and P2 can be passed in via C# to the report.
    The C# front-end displays 2 report choices to the user, R1 and R2, where both choices call the same RDL; but choice R1 passes in 'R1' for P1, and the choice R2 passes in 'R2' for P1.
    Upon a users 1st time use of the report no parameters are passed in.  Then when the user exits the report, the parameter value for P2 that was chosen is saved off to a file for R1 or R2, and used the next time the user selects the report.
    Everything always works fine for report R1 since the default value for P1 is 'R1'.
    When R2 is chosen and the user selects 'D' as the value for P2, runs the report, then exits, the P2 value of 'D' for R2 is saved to a file.  When the user returns the next day to run report R2, 'R2' is passed for P1, and 'D' is passed for P2.
    This is when the problem occurs.  The value of 'D' for P2 is validated against a list generated for P2 based on the default value of 'R1' for parameter P1.  Hence, SSRS considers 'D' an invalid value for P2 and blanks out the P2 parameter.
    The user can then use the drop down list for P2 and choose 'D', but this defeats the purpose of saving the parameter values to be used the next time.
    Why is the stored procedure that provides a list of available values for parameter P2 using the default value of 'R1' for parameter P1 instead of using the value of 'R2' passed into the report for parameter P1?

    Hi Tom,
    Sorry for my delay.
    If I understand correctly, you have two parameter in your report. It is a couple of cascading parameter. If we have choose ‘R1’ of P1, the P2 values is A, B, C. ‘R2’ of P1, corresponding P2 values is A, B, D. What your requirement is to save the end use
    select option of these two parameters.
    In SSRS, if we have configure the parameter with default value. When we run the report, the parameter will fill with the default value to filter data. If we want to save the last status we are render the report, we need to update the default value of P1.
    If we are query the default value from database, if possible, we can
    update the database try to resolve the issue.  Alternatively, we can set the dynamic default value for the parameter.
    Hope this helps.
