Photo recovery

I tried to upgrade software on my original 4GB iPhone. I was left with a yellow triangle enclosing an exclamation mark, and a message to connect with iTunes. ITunes gives me the single option of restoring original settings and losing all my data. I've got 1500+ photos on the iPhone that have not been backed up and are very important to me. I don't know what happened. The iPhone screen shows the same icon/message. Can I recover the photos from the motherboard, or otherwise access them? I think my iTunes was not the most recent one. Can I try connecting with iTunes from another computer to see if it still gives only the restore option? I'm desperate to recover these family photos. I want to act cautiously so as not to ruin any chance I have of recovering, so I'm trying to gather information first. Should I get another original iPhone and experiment? There were others who had this problem--did anyone succeed? I still don't know what happened. Thanks so much --

You can use the Windows Camera and Scanner wizard to import photos that were captured by your iPhone - just as can be used to import photos from any digital camera.
Your iPhone would not be synced automatically before a firmware update is installed.
You can view the date of your last iPhone backup with iTunes.
Go to iTunes preferences.
Check under the Devices tab.
If there is a company that indicates they have recovered photos that were captured by an iPhone, this wouldn't be from the iPhone's motherboard. This would be from the iPhone's flash drive, which is where all data is stored on an iPhone.
Based on what you have described, I have no way of knowing if these photos are still accessible.
The triangle with the explanation mark means there is something seriously wrong with your iPhone and as the warning message provided indicates, this requires restoring your iPhone with iTunes. When was the last time that you synced your iPhone with iTunes and you were trying to install firmware update 2.2 over which firmware version on your iPhone?
When restoring with iTunes, your iPhone is completely erased and the current firmware version is installed. After the current firmware version is installed, you are prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. Depending on when you last synced your iPhone, this would be the most recent backup. If the most recent backup is not corrupt, the photos captured by your iPhone should be stored with the backup, but this is not something you should depend on alone - especially with very important photos that were captured by your iPhone.
You can try connecting your iPhone with iTunes on another computer, but I don't believe this will do any good in this situation. iTunes does not handle the importing of photos that were captured by your iPhone - these photos are not touched during the iTunes sync process except for being included with your iPhone's backup.

  • Best Photo Recovery App for Ipod video?

Hi.... what should be the best app recovery tool out there that is compatible with iPod video?

If you copied photos to your iPod using the full resolution option you don't need a 3rd party program. Enable disk use, open your iPod in "my computer", open the photos folder then open the "full resolution" folder and drag the photos out of that folder to your desktop. For enabling disk use look here.
    Disk Use.
As for other programs, I don't know if this is the "best", but it's one I've used successfully before.
Copy photos from iPod to a Mac.

  • Photo recovery when iPhoto crashed while deleting imported images

I was importing images into iPhoto when it finished and asked if I wanted to delete originals or not. I chose to delete originals. As it was finishing the import/deleting the images, iPhoto crashed. I could see the images right before the crash. Upon rebooting iPhoto, the images were gone from my card and not showing up under last import. Where can I find them??? Thanks!

    Greetings,
Sorry to hear about the lost pictures.
My guess would be that there was something wrong with the import process (bad data / corrupt media card in camera, low battery power during import, bad connection with camera, etc.)
Try finding the images on the computer using the File > Find in the Finder as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1995 (maybe they just got misplaced / not fully imported into iPhoto).
Use the picture in that article as an example.  Rather than having "Kind" "Any".  Choose "Kind" "Image".  This will locate any picture at all on your computer.  You can then copy and paste the images (if you can find them) into a new folder and then import that folder into iPhoto.
If you haven't used the camera since you deleted the pictures there is a good chance you can recover them from the camera using data recovery software.

You can contact a local Apple Authorized Provider to see if they offer data recovery services: http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/
There are many nationwide / worldwide data recovery companies out there.  Here are a few examples:

Consider using these best practice tips to avoid or minimize the impact of issues in the future:
Do not delete the images off your camera until you have imported your images to the image management program of your choice (like iPhoto), and then backed up your images (like with TimeMachine)
Reformat the camera's media card using the camera itself between uses (check your camera's manual for how to do this).
Ensure your camera has a full charge on the battery before you import (Or run off of AC if possible).
Ensure the date and time on the camera are correct before importing.
If you are using a media card reader and are getting regular failures, try using a different reader or the camera itself (The same is true about importing directly from the camera. Try a reader instead.)
Plug the camera directly into the computer with a solid connection, no loose cables.  Don't use a hub.
Alternate between multiple media cards during photo shoots (trips, etc) so that if one card goes bad (they are just little bits of plastic after all) you don't lose the entire shoot.
    Best of luck to you.

  • IPhone 4S photo recovery

    Hello,
I need ur help with recovery of my photos that disappeared from my camera roll after moving them to the album that I set up on my iPad. They are recent photos I took on my holidays.
    Thank you

If you had a problem with importing your photos to the computer, that is a computer issue. Did you configure your import software to delete the photos from the iPhone after import? IF so, your only solution for the phone is to restore to a backup of the phone that contained the photos. Try searching your computer for the photos, depending on where the import software would have downloaded them to.

  • Photo recovery software for the 3G?

recently lost all photo files from my iPhone 3G and am looking for any file recovery software that is compatible with it...

If the photos were taken on the phone, did you not transfer them to your computer? They may be in your iTunes backup on your computer, check with MobileSyncBrowser (Google it).
If you're taking about pics in the Photo Library, those were synced from your computer and should stil be on your computer.

  • IPhone photo recovery

Please help. I've just returned from overseas having taken a lot of photos on my new iPhone 5. I've stupidly moved to upgrade the software on the device without saving these. Now the phone is promoting me to plug into iTunes and when I do it says the phone is detected in recovery mode and has to be restored. Is there any way I can get to these images without losing them?! :( I think I have additional storage however can't be sure images were selected to back up.

If the device is in recovery mode, all data on the device is lost.
If you had Photo Stream enabled on the device when taking the pictures, they may be in iCloud and accessible via Photo Stream.

  • Can someone recommend a photo recovery program for iMac

Please help me.  The micro SD card on my Galaxy S4 is damaged.  I need to get the photos off of it and get them onto my iMac, if that is even possible.  Has anyone had any experience with this?  Is there a program out there that can help me?
    Thank you,
    Stephanie

There is an app here Recover deleted photos from Galaxy S4 microSD card | Samsung Galaxy Recovery  for Macs for reading the MicroSD card from a Galaxy S4.
If the card is physically damaged then there's not much you can do; there may be some service out there that you could give large amounts of cash to that might be able to recovery some data.
If it's just the files that are damaged in some way, then you might be able to repair the files with some sort of drive utility. I imagine that this card is not formatted to be readable on a Mac (I tried looking up how this card is formatted for the Galaxy but I could not find any info on this), so it's unlikely that it would mount or be repairable with Disk Utility. But maybe there is some equivalent app on a PC.

  • HELP NEEDED Deleted photos recovery

    Hello,
This morning I entered a few times too many a wrong code in my Z30. It said that all files will be deleted. And indeed upon restarting (I entered the 2 codes in the right order) all contacts, emails, pictures etc had been deleted. Only the standard apps were still there.
Is there any way to retrieve this data? In particular the photo's and the movies I would like to have back. I tried some of the software that is out there to retrieve deleted files (aidfile recovery, asoftech...) but my bb Z30 is never recognised as drive by the software although it shows up in "My computer".  I read somewhere that this software is only for SD cards... ?? There is no such card in my device.
    Anyone who can help?
I hope so... I have a son of a few months old so it would be really sad if the files could not be recovered....]
    Marianne

The actions you describe are in no way "new" to BB10 devices. The user-created device lock password, when entered wrongly too many times, has ALWAYS resulted in a complete WIPE of all user data on the device. This is to protect the priceless data from the eyes of a thief who has stolen the device. This is a security feature that has always existed, and is not new with BB10.
As to being "user-unfriendly"...there is an old saying -- "the best device for someone is the one they have become the most used to." Any new thing will be a challenge, and anyone coming to BB10 from legacy BBs indeed has a step learning curve to get through, for BB10 is not an outgrowth of legacy but rather something completely new for BBs.
    Good luck!

  • IPhone 4S password locked photo recovery help!

My iPhone 4s Battery ran out of charge and will not charge back up nor will it open in itunes. Primary issue right now is that my unlock password I am 98% sure of isn't working. I replaced that battery to get it to come on and also replace the charge port and still will not charge or open up. I realy just need to recover the many precious photos of my 3 year old. Any ideas.

We can't help you. If you don't know the passcode and it wasn't synced with the computer since the passcode was set, you'll have to restore the phone using recovery mode.
Apple does not sell iPhone parts. The iPhone is not user servicable. By opening it yourself, you've forfeited the ability to get it serviced or replaced by Apple.

  • Photo Recovery HELP

Ok, let's start from the beginning. I got a macbook and transferred alot of my files over from my PC including lots of pictures. I then imported them into iPhoto using import to library. however I did notice a significant use of disk space so I was reading about how iphoto imports and i noticed it duplicated all the photos. So I decided that i was going to delete the files because i have like 11,000 photos and it was using alot of my disk space.
So I delete them and then emptied the trash stupidly without checking to see if the files were still there. According to this http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61015 iPhoto has their own library, which i have found however in the originals there are only aliases and i can't retrieve the files. I do notice that in the modified there are a few but not all.. there were some really important pictures that I haven't gotten a chance to back up on my PC yet that I would like to recover/find?! Does anyone know how I could do that?

If there is no internal way to recover the photos, you might want to look at recovery software at http://www.mediarecover.com/ I have not used it but once saw it mentioned by one of the experts on this forum or the iMovie forum. But maybe one of the gurus on this forum will have an answer for you. Good luck.
