Photos blow up when set to wallpaper

I want to set a photo from my gallery to my wallpaper. When I do this it blows the photo up, how can I get this to stop? does anyone know the proper sizing?

so far there is no way to keep them from blowing up even with the cropping option you get before setting the picture as wallpaper. the picture still tends to be a little blurry when set as wallpaper because as the verizon wireless employee said they are set to screen, even cropped.

  • Unable to find aperture library when set up wallpaper

This has stuggled me for around a year, ever since i upgrade to lion when it is available, i found its hard for me to change my wallpaper to the images located in my aperture library. It's simplely not showing up as a available option in the preference panel desktop image section.
No offense, but dont tell me to do the repair disk, repair permission thing, or change the preview as "always" in the sharing section.
    This is what i've done:
1>I've done format the entier hard drive "7 pass erase" around 3 times
2>Fixed the permission, repaired disk, runned daily weekly monthly script for thousands of times.
3>Reinstalled the OS thousands of times.
4>Repair Permission, Repair Database, Rebuid Database for Aperture 3 thousands of time.
5>Runned ACL repair under recovery mode 3 times in Apple Terminal.
6>Called Apple Support, reached to 3 different senior technicients
    7>Done the research online
    8>Tried everything i can.
I like photography, and i have a 70G aperture library. now i can only export the image into a folder and choose the image from the folder to do it. I know I know, It's not a big deal, just wallpaper. I'd done some programing for 2 3 years. It's kind of a habbit for me to debug the thing, i feel like this is issue for me, which makes me uncomfortable. Can anyone tell me how to fix this or have any clue?

Have you tried putting your pictures in this folder:
I just tried two things: putting a folder into the Pictures folder did not result in any pics showing in the Preferences Pane; however, putting individual pics in that folder worked - they showed up in the Pane immediately.

  • Why won't the crop work when setting a wallpaper

The new iOS is fine once you get used to it, but I'm rather annoyed with how I can't customize my wallpapers anymore.  I like to customize everything on my phone, especially the pictures that I see everytime I get on my phone, so when it automatically zooms in on the picture I chose, then doesn't accept the edits I try to set to make it work, I get aggrivated.  I don't want to have to choose which ever picture won't look bad zoomed in or not centered correctly; I want to pick whatever picture I want at the time and make it fit.
Is there a temporary work around for this problem or is it something I'm stuck with until they do another update to the new iOS?

  • Cant change Picture Position when setting new wallpaper.

I change my background recently and noticed I cantchange the picture position. Meaning I cant make the picture stretch to fit, fill the screen, tile, center, etc. I can change the option in the control panel, but nothing happens.  Its not a huge issue, but Id like to be able to make my wallpaper fit right.

I can offer the following: You might be dealing with a "bug" unless there is something weird about that theme / background image you are trying to install. OR there might be a fix and you need to run Windows Updates... OR your registry might be hosed, in which case you are up a creek without means of locomotion... One of many examples of Posts dealing with similar issues:PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS 7 THEMES, WONT REMEMBER SLIDESHOW, CREATES NEW THEMES BY ITSELF People have been complaining for a long time that -- for whatever reason -- the Operating System will sometimes not cooperate when trying to save / display / deal with Themes. I have not seen this happen - ever - and I have been using Windows since - well, a long time ago.  So, what?  It means it did not happen to me and yet it did happen to lots of other people.  You might try the following: Windows 7 does come with a few standard built-in themes of its own; you might try one of the standard Windows 7 themes and see if at least one of the Standard Themes work as they should. Right-Click on your Desktop > Personalize > Select from Windows Default themes  Why do this? It is a good "first test" because Windows 7 Themes Work with Windows 7 Operating System. Next, go out to a trusted source on the Internet, download and install a wall paper that is made for your monitor's Display type. For example, you can go to Hubble Space Images Wallpaper Install one of these images -- see if that works. Why do this? It is a good "second test" because these images are made to work -- and should work, assuming the system is going to accept "wallpaper" at all and is not tied up in some weird "bug state".  What if the tests succeed? Your Image may be a poor choice for wall paper. What if the tests fail? Might be bug / registry error / File System error. What to do?  Whatever you like -- Back up the entire system and reinstall Windows comes to mind.  The problem with this kind of problem that doesn't happen to everyone is that there is not a good fix unless you can find a "fix" for it at Microsoft (Windows Updates usually provides patches for most people). Another Expert might have more to offer.  When you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Click my Answer Accept as Solution to help others find Solutions and Answers!

  • When setting photo as lock screen/home screen wallpaper, quality is reduced

When setting a photo as the wallpaper for my lock screen/home screen the photo quality is dramatically reduced. This appears to be an issue since updating to iOS 8, as I have not changed my home screen wallpaper yet since updating, and when setting the same photo as my lock screen now, there is a noticeable difference. This only seems to be a problem when using landscape photo. Anyone else had this problem?

    Hi Mara,
This is apparently a bug in iOS 7. Take a look at the posts to the right under "More Like This". Several users have come up with creative workarounds for this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon in an upcoming release!
    Cheers,

  • Why does my Photo app freeze when I try to set my wallpaper in iOS 7?

I just updated to iOS 7. When I try to set my wallpaper with a photo of mine, the entire Photos app freezes and I have to close out. Any idea why this is happening?

I had a similar question that was thankfully resolved.

  • IPad restart when edit photo and setting to wallpaper

Ipad restart when edit photo and setting to wallpaper.
took it last week and it got restarted thrice since then.
it happened only when I edit photo

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Ipod Touch 5G... Photos I set as wallpaper keep upsizing.

    Hi all,
Today, I purchased a new ipod touch 5G (64GB). I saved a couple images (.png, 1136x640) onto it and tried to set them as my wallpaper. Everything looked fine once I did this - at first. Then I noticed all four sides of the wallpapers were getting cut off. When I was on the "move and scale" part, I'd make the image smaller to try and make the entire thing fit, but upon release, it just upsizes it again.
What's going on? Why aren't my images setting true-to-scale? I'd love a solution because they're appearing a little blurrier, and I'd rather not have to go into photoshop and put borders around each of them, just so I can see the entire image once it's set as wallpaper.
I'm using the latest OS (7.0.3).
    Thanks in advance.

Go in through your photos app and 'send' the photo to be wallpaper (tapping the little square with the arrow poking out of it)
You have a bit more control, but not as much as previous iOS versions. THe devices do seem to default to 'fill the screen', so it zooms in until the screen is full, then you get a little extra to allow for moving the image around.

  • Can I edit the size of my photo when setting up an email signature?

Can I edit the size of my photo when setting up an email signature?

Not sure what you mean by "photo screen?" Do you mean your Photo Stream?
In the Photos app there are several ways to view the photos. Tap on Albums. Your Photo Stream is one Album but there may be others including the Camera Roll, albums made on the iPad with photos from the Camera Roll, and albums of photos copied to your iPhone by syncing with your computer.
To remove albums from the Camera Roll, tap on the Camera Roll album to see the small thumbnails of the photos there. Tap on Select, tap on the photos to delete, then tap on the trashcan. The photos will then be moved to another album called Recently Deleted. They remain there for 30 days to allow you time to reconsider whether you really want to delete them or not. After 30 days they will automatically be deleted from your iPhone. But if you are sure you want the photos deleted from your iPhone delete them again from the Recently Deleted album.
Albums created on the iPad with photos from the Camera Roll can be deleted in the same way.
To delete albums copied to your iPhone by syncing with your computer running iTunes are deleted by doing another sync. But before you click on Sync deselect the albums in iTunes. Then when you click on Apply or Sync the albums will be removed from your iPhone but they will remain on your computer.

  • I imported videos from photo into iMovie when I set up iMovie (obvious mistake) and now iMovie doesn't work properly, nor can I move specific videos into a folder where I want them. How do I fix this?

I imported videos from photo into iMovie when I set up iMovie (obvious mistake) and now iMovie doesn't work properly, nor can I move specific videos into a folder where I want them. How do I fix this? I even tried deleting iMovie, bought a new copy and installed it, but the folder "iPhoto Videos" is still there and I can't get new clips loaded to iMovie, especially where I want them. Please help.

The iPhoto Videos do occasionally have problems. I've seen a lot of people write messages to this Discussion group describing similar problems. The only thing that seems to get around this problem is to pull the video clips out of iPhoto then import them directly into iMovie. Once the troubles with iPhoto Videos starts, I haven't yet seen anyone write back with something that they did to fix it.
The most difficult part of doing this is the movies in iPhoto might be a little difficult to track down. But you can create a smart alum that does that for you. Go to iPhoto > File Menu > New Smart Album:
Set the first pulldown menu to keyword, second to contains, then in the last box type Movie with a capital 'M'. Then click OK. This smart album more or less does as search of the whole iPhoto Library and only displays items that match your search tearm of "Movie" exactly. In that smart album then you can find the original Movies you want to move out of iPhoto and into iMovie, <CTRL> click on the Movie clip, then choose Reveal in Finder. That will jump you out of iPhoto temporarily and into the iPhoto Library folder. From there you can move that movie file to the desktop. Move all the clips you want, once they're all collected up go to iMovie and go to the File Menu > Import Files. Then point it to the desktop where you moved your video clips.
This will put all those videos into an Event folder in iMovie and bypass iPhoto Videos altogether.

  • Wallpaper zooms in slightly when setting it to home screen

Whenever I try to set a wallpaper, the image I choose is zoomed in from the image shown when I align it on the "move and scale" screen. How can I fix this?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    * "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

What do you mean by storage quota, does that mean i could be photo streaming about 1gb of photos and it does not get taken away from my free 5bg.

how do I set the wallpaper for the the first page only.I have my ICE #'s as wallpaper but I only want it on the first page

When you set a wallaper you are asked where you want to set it. Either Lock Screen or Home Screen or Both.
If you choose Lock screen it will only appear when you wake up your phone.
If you set it to Home screen, then it wil be set behind the app icons on all your home screens.
If you choose both, then it will be on both.
Not sure what you mean by the " have a photo of my ICE in contacts that I am trying to use????"
The Photo should be in the Photos App. how is it in contacts?  is it assigned to a contact?
