Photos in recovery

my daughter was downloading photos to her photo library from a friend's USB scan disc stick. I'm not exactly sure what happened but her photos in her library disappeared and they went into recovery but then as she was getting them back, the computer froze and only 1/4 photos are back. How do we get them all back??

Nope.  All data is already gone if the phone is in recover mode.

I would "guess", since you were in the middle of backing up, your backup is corrupt & most likely unusable. Only one way to find out though, & that's by trying to restore from that backup. If your pics are not there, they are gone.

  • Saving Photos in Recovery Mode iPhone 4s

iPhone 4s died and when I charged and it turned back on, it has gone into recovery mode. It tells me to connect to iTunes and then iTunes says I need to restore my phone. I have photos on my phone that I want to save, how do I do this, when my phone is in recovery mode, waiting to restore?

    You cannot.
If it is in recovery mode, anything not backed up and/or saved to your computer is already gone.

  • Save photos from recovery mode?

My iphone 4 went into recovery mode on my vacation. Is there any way to save my photos before I have to restore it?

If the device is in Recovery Mode the data on the device has been erased. If you had a backup you can restore them from that but as far as the device goes the photos are gone.
    Sorry

  • IPhone 5 Photo/video recovery

Hey, so I have an iPhone 5 which i took some photos and video with which very precious to me. I accidentally deleted a video in particular. Keeping in mind that the video was deleted before any backup was made of it. I understand that it is technically still on the hard drive as digital 1's and 0's, but rendered unreckognizeable and made available to other things as the space is needed. I need a way to access the files before they're overwritten. Are their specific programs that authorized apple employees use to get into the software like this? I have tried iExplorer and it only shows what is currently on the iphone as reckognizeable. I really need help with this fast! Thanks so much in advance!

With only a few easy steps, you can extract your images, videos, songs, text messages, contacts, notes and so on. all your lost or deleted personal data by using iPhone data recovery software on a computer.
Step 1. Download the program and install it on the computer you synced your iOS devices before. Open the program to get started iPhone Data Recovery.
Step 2. Highlight a device by clicking it and then click "Start Scan" to extract the content on the backup file.
Step 3. Preview thumbnails of all found photos, files previously synced to iTunes from your iPhone, iPad and iPod.
Step 4. Click on "Recover"to fully restore your files.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Photo/file recovery from Catalogue?

My external storage disc on which i store all my photos has crashed, and like the novice that i am, i have no back up. All the photos can still be viewed in Lightroom but i am unable to save them to a new location, can anyone help please.

    Hi Jasonized,
Lucky for me that there are clued up people out there!!
The silly thing is that i was in the process of reducing my Photo data down to good quality photos as my external drive only had 20GB of free space and all my photos on this one drive plus the computer back up, ca 30GB.
I went out to buy the new drive and came back to find the external drive was not registering in explorer. OK now i am setting up a fresh storage system. Thank you for your reply to my query, i have already recovered an important batch of Photos in good quality, thankfully!
    Keep up the good work,
    Ken

    Hey there!
This seems to be coming in a rash, all at once.  Another thread answered this one quite nicely, links and all:

Of course, those programs work best when you have 1:1 previews rendered.  If you don't, then all you get are the smaller resolution, etc, etc.  But, better than nothing, as people point out!
    Backups work!
    Cheers!

  • Photo Highlight Recovery Tutorial

    Hello,
A week or so ago there was a thread of HDR and more specifically about using
one raw image as the source for an HDR image to recovery highlights, etc. I
promised that I would post a tutorial for my technique on using a single raw
file for highlight recovery. Well here it is:

Well, I just did some playing around and I have some major issues with the
Control+Clicking on the RGB channel. It doesn't just select the highlights,
it seems to select nearly all of the image. Take a look at these samples
here. One is from using the color range and one from control clicking on the
RGB channel. The RGB channel option is not acceptable for what my technique
is supposed to do. I have better results using the color range, saving it to
an alpha channel and then applying a small amount of blur to take care of
the hard edges. I am going to play some more and work on refining the
technique but I don't see myself recommending the control clicking method
because it selects way more than just the highlights.

  • Photo album recovery after iOS5 update?

I updated to iOS5, and lost 3,000 pictures that were synced photo albums. My hard drive recently crashed, so these were the only copy I had of them (I know, stupid). I was unaware that the iPod backup only covered photos on the camera roll, not synced albums.
Anybody know any way at all to get these back?

Restore as new to see if the problem goes away.

  • I have photos on a cd which I'm trying to open .  If I click on them I can see the picture in the preview, but when I double click it doesn't recognise the picture.  They are all in .jpg format.  Tried copying them but it said some data cannot be read.

Select one and hit the Space bar to view it in QuickLook. Use the forward arrow keys to move from file to file.   If the file can't be viewed in the QuickLook mode then the file is damaged and probably can't be copied or moved.
You could try a photo file recovery application like  MediaRECOVER which can scan the memory card and tell you what files, if any, can be recovered before you have to purchase it.

  • Data Recovery on Nokia Lumia 800

I recently went on an incredibly moving trip to Poland and took many photos and videos. My Nokia Lumia 800 ran out of battery, so I charged it overnight. When I woke up to switch it on, the memory formatted, which meant I lost so many important photos and videos. I only pressed the on button so I am at a loss as to why this happened. I have arrived home and have researched the ways I could possibly recover these life-changing photos with recovery software (since I did not have access to the internet at the time, it did not sync with SkyDrive). Is there possibly a way I could reclaim these overwritten files? I have done the 'regedit' process, so my PC can recognise it as a device independent of Zune, though it only comes up as a 'Portable Device' in Computer, meaning the recovery software doesnt detect it as a memory store from which it can recover data (ie. Removable Storage Device) . Any thoughts as to how to fix that?
Thank you for reading, and I hope to hear a reply as soon as possible.

Unless you have made a backup of the photos or synced them to skydrive I am afraid there is no way to recover them.

  • Organizing Recovered Photos

After a "catastrophic" loss of photos, in iPhoto, I've recovered some 10,000+ photos using recovery software. However, the recovery has the photos in random order. The former albums, and events, are gone. How should I go about organizing such a large number of photos which span over 10 years of photography and a myriad of topics?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Unless you specifically choose otherwise (and don't have an iPod Touch) they images on your iPod are tiny thumbnails. If you can explain more about your problems perhaps we can help in other ways.
    Regards
