Photoshop CC Bugs
Just been reading about the amount of bugs in the new Photoshop CC, doesn't sound very good, think it's crazy that adobe would treat their costumers like this. Thankfully I have Photoshop CS6 which works perfectly for me. Looks like I for one won't be going near the CC, a lot of unhappy people out there so far.
What have Adobe gone and done, they have just ruined a perfectly good product. All for the sake of GREED and PROFITS
Silly Silly people
Hi
I've been noticing quite a few bugs aswell. Can anyone tell me if the following is a bug or not. When I use the rounded rectangle feature I can edit that layer over and over again but as soon as I duplicate the layer or save the file as a .psd file, I loose the option to edit that layer again. I can't change the roundness, stroke color etc. Live shape properties turns into a masks properties and no matter what I do I can't get the live shape properties back again.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Thanks

Photoshop interop bug after installing update
I recently updated to ACR 5.3.0 (along with a few other updates, I wish I could be more specific, and it would be nice if there were a way to keep track of updates and optionally remove them, like Windows has), and the message about Lightroom being ahead of ACR (with the option to render, etc) finally went away. However, now there's a new problem. When I select an image and do Edit in Photoshop CS4, Photoshop opens up the photo, but Lightroom doesn't put it alongside the original image in the collection - it's now shown as being in a different folder even though it's saved to the same directory on disk. Here's what it looks like - I "edit in photoshop"ed a photo, and it created this new "folder" that now contains the single photoshop-exported image.
When I hover over them to see the location, the only difference is that the top one points to
c:\users\theuser\documents\...
and the second to
c:\users\theuser\Documents\...
When I do "show in explorer" on the single image, it brings up the correct directory (containing the other photos).
Maybe an unnecessarily case-sensitive string comparison somewhere causing it?
Either way, I'd love to know whether this is a known issue.
Thanks,

Has anybody else observed this? Also, what is the right place to file and follow up Lightroom bugs?
For some reason you have two folders with the same name, but one has an uppercase letter for the first letter. The problem has been reported before, but I don't recall anyone coming up with a consistent fix. I do notice that your folder names include a single Quote character ' Placing such characters in file names has in the past caused problems with Edit in Photoshop. So, removing them would be a good starting point for a possible fix.

Photoshop Layering Bug with Multi-language discs
I have searched and couldn't find information regarding this problem.
I am in the process of converting projects created in DVDSP1.52 that were multi-lingual and used layered menus created in Photoshop. Projects are moved into DVDSP3.02 where the language tags for a language menu are reset so they will work properly.
When projects are converted in DVDSP3.02, menu layers behave normally until I change the languages outside of the Simulator. As soon as this is done, the layers ALL turn on. I can reset them to their proper settings manually but the settings will not hold.
This isn't really a problem as long as I have the disc behaving EXACTLY the way I want it to in DVDSP1.52 before translation and I don't need to overhaul some other aspect of the project that would require me to toggle the displayed languages.
However, I forsee a point in time where I will have to work on this library further and the translated projects would be my starting point.
Has anyone experienced these issues?
Does upgrading to DVDSP4 resolve this bug?For apple to see your request, you need to repost it at

My Photoshop CS6 Bugs, Ideas and other things
First of all, great job on many new features like: Dashed strokes, Styles for your Character and Paragraphs, Background saving.
I'm a webdesigner and I am using it now this whole morning and midday. So far so good, install went fine, working perfectly. But below a list of features I miss and a list of bugs or some other things I miss.
- Changing the opacity of a layer from any number to 100% doesnt work with the numeric pad
- Great job on the styles for typography, but why not doing the same thing for colors/swatches. You can make your own swatch library and you can attach that color to any object, shape, whatever. What would be really handy if you change that color in the swatches it would affect all objects who share that swatch. Really missing that feature a long time!
- Still missing external use of images/psd's/ any format. That I can place in my document, for example a psd, and when I change the original psd it would also automaticly update the placed object. It's like using a library like Fireworks.
- I like it when I drag my documents into photoshop, but when I drag a PSD to Photoshop it will open as a smartobject into the file wich was open, not as a new window. You can only achieve that by dragging it outside of the document, more like dragging it onto the option bars... Imo that's irritating.
- If you make a vector shape, it creates a path. If you select the shape it will show the path outlines around the shape. When you apply layer effects on the shape the shape is still selected, so you will see the path outlines around the shape. It's very annoying when you apply a stroke around the object it still showing the outline of the path around it. In CS4 (don't know about CS5) you could deselect the layer, then double click the effects icon on the layer and it will popu the layer styles menu without showing the outline of the path, in CS6 that doesnt work anymore.
I try to update this once in a whileSo i finally started using the trial photoshop 6 and the first thing I notice, (that was wrong with 5.5) is that the zoom is zagged! Why must it zoom in large increments using the magic mouse? How it is possible to work with images zooming (very clunky) is beyond me. Photoshop 4 is fine. Nice and smooth when I'm using the finger scroll like a wel tuned machine, but then in the newest and greatest editions, it works like smashing the throttle to pull forward an inch!
This is crazy that something as basic as this is not addressed. Thank god that I can use the lasso tool and the zoom with scroll wheel again in this version (didn't work in 5.5) but hopefully this get s addressed. I really don't want to have to suffer through this when the newest final version is out.
Also, ( I assume this will be fixed in the final version) all of my preferences get reset everytime i open it. That is annoying.
So far I like the new look and it is much better than 5, but the basic things should work! I'm also not used to the tools not lining up with the cursors the same way. The lasso tool used to line up with the actual lasso, but now they line up with the arrow. Makes sense, but will take some getting used to.
PLEASE FIX THE ZOOM! -
Photoshop CS6 bug: content aware is not longer working
Seems that the latest update of Photoshop CS6 broke content aware, which now produces a black result.
Thanks for the tip, but it does not applies to the issue I run into, as I'm using the "delete" command and not the tool (which seems to be working fine).
Sorry for being vague.
Also, this happens only when working in 32bit: in other bit depths the delete with content aware works fine as well.
Steps to replicate the bug:
open a 32bit document
select an area
delete use content aware
instead of filling the selected area with content aware it does fill it with black. -
Photoshop tablet bug, keyboard shortcuts temporarily won't work
Hello
I've noticed a strange bug with photoshop when working with a pen and tablet. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue. I'm using the CC version on the latest Mac OS
While working on an illustration I'll frequently use keyboard shortcuts. command+z, i, r, z, option, etc. Someties after making a stroke with the brush tool, I'll go to undo with command+option+z and nothing will happen. Other keyboard shortcuts do the same thing—no response.
I've found that to fix this, you have to click the canvas again to make photoshop the active program or something to that effect.
This is incredibly annoying and seems to happen at random. Has this happened to anybody else? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?I'm also experiencing the same bug. As far as I know I don't use Maverick (If it's possible ).
I'm on a MacBookpro With mac os x 10.9.1. Using photoshop CS6.
The problems only occur when I'm using my tablet (Wacom intuos 4).
Photoshop does seem to be the active program running because when I try to switch tools (and photoshop doesn't respond) I can still use the active tool. For instance if I have my brush selected and press "e" it still continues to draw instead of erase.
I'm using my shortcuts a lot while drawing so it's getting a bit frustrating.
Does anyone have a solution or work around? Will a reinstall of photoshop do the trick?
For me the problems started after I traveled to a diferent timezone (not sure if it's related though). My photoshop was set to korean instead of European. I switched it back but it didn't solve the problem. Before this my photoshop worked perfectly on this exact setup for a year.
Any advice is most welcome. -
Hi everyone,
here's a post just to share a recent photoshop bug: while using a vector tool and trying to change color, an alert appears saying that "The program cannot perform the requested action due to an error" (approximative translation from French!)
Here's a link to a video of it: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-7R97NXPCgzUW5ISUg3aE0yOW8/edit?usp=sharing
I hope it'll help the development team to fix it.
Sol.I noticed on your post on photoshop .com you have optional cs6 plugins installed.

This is a Photoshop CS bug, right?
When I go Save for Web... and choose JPEG, the preview is in GIF, not JPEG. I have used Photoshop for 15 years and I know that when you choose the file format you want to save it will preview in that same file format, not a different format. Is this a bug that is going to be fixed?
hmmm... are you sure the same thing happens with all those versions?
The build of 1.4.2 that I have does not have a class called javax.swing.JFileChooser$WeakPCL, but 1.5.0 beta does have it:> /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/bin/javap 'javax.swing.JFileChooser$WeakPCL'

}This does look like a bug in 1.5.0 beta.. could you post a minimal program that reproduces this error, I just tested it and was able to serialize a JFileChooser?

Help with Mavericks crashes Photoshop CC & bugs with Illustrator CC?
Have I missed an update specifically for CC users who have upgraded to Mavericks? Really wishing I had held off on the upgrade to the OS - luckily my CS4 is still compatible with the java update, however had just purchased the CC license, and wanted to use the new apps - now Photoshop CC crashes on launch (havent successfully opened one file in it without having to force quit it) and Illustrator CC bounced for a while then stopped. Randomly five minutes later the app launched. I quit it then re-opened to check for lag again, seemed fine - but then switched between that app and another, then returned to Illustrator CC and took ages for it to open. I am on a 3.4GHz intel core i7 iMac with 16GB memory 1600mhz ddr3, it shouldn't be having any lag problems, and is only a couple months old.
OK I found a file in Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports called a .hang file which is really long:

Photoshop CS6 bug report - creating halftone
Error occurred when creating a 4 color half tone separation.
I opened a PDF image file 300dpi CMYK and in the channels palet > Split Channels
I then chose the first channel (Magenta) and did the following...
Image > Mode > Bitmap with the settings Input: 300 px/in Output 99.999 px/in, Method: Halftone Screen, Frequency: 53, Angle: 45, Shape: Round
The result is a mess.
Every time it looks a little different but what I see is that the halftone seems to have been applied to most of the image but the image was also sliced up and rearranged.

Plug-ins that failed to load: NONE
Flash:
Watermark

Mini Bridge
Kuler
Installed TWAIN devices: NONEI can't reproduce that with a normal CS6 install.
But I see that you copied many of the plugins from CS5 into CS6 -- and those will cause conflicts.
Remove all the plugins that you copied from CS5 and try again.
Also, this could be related to document dimensions -- could you tell us the exact pixel dimensions of the images that fail? -
Photoshop CS5 bug, can not copy/cut from JS - PC only.
I have stumbled upon what I believe is a serious bug in PS5 when using extensions or panels. It seems that copy and cut via JS do not work on Windows!
Do this:
Using Adobe Configurator 2.0 create a new panel with one JS button
Use this JS code var docRef = app.activeDocument;docRef.selection.copy();
Run the panel on PS5 on MAC - works!
Run the panel on PS5 on Windows - DOES NOT WORK!
This is the same result as when creating a panel with flash builder + JS file.
I've created a panel with this JS code so you can try it:
http://www.2shared.com/file/8WO5xuUf/untitled-1.html
Copy and cut with JS running from the ExtendScript toolkit or just from the scripting menu works fine on Windows. It does not work when running from Flash.
Any suggestions?Hi,
I'm having the same issue - Copy is failing to work when calling a script through a panel, yet it works fine in the toolkit.
What's the solution to this? The initial report of this was 12-04-09 Please dont tell me that this has not been addressed in 2.5 years???
I have tried the following:
refSel = app.activeDocument.selection.load(app.activeDocument.channels.getByName("Alpha 1"));
var idcopy = charIDToTypeID( "copy" );
executeAction( idcopy, undefined, DialogModes.NO );
var idpaste = charIDToTypeID( "past" );
executeAction( idpaste, undefined, DialogModes.NO );
and:
var selected = app.activeDocument.channels.getByName("Alpha 1")
app.activeDocument.selection.load(selected)
app.activeDocument.selection.copy()
app.activeDocument.paste()
Neither work, This issue is going to prevent us moving to using panels and Java scripts - forcing us to stay with actions, which is far from ideal!
Please can I get some information on this issue...
UPDATE:
This issue also causes `copy` and `paste` functionality on the computer to stop working.
I have a work around using duplicate, invert selection and clear... but this still has the issue with `copy / paste` not working...
Cheers,
Pete. -
Photoshop CS5 Bugs on MacBook Air Fixed in Mountain Lion
Hey all,
I was pretty frustrated last November when I bought a new Macbook Air and experienced weird behavior in Photoshop CS5. Brushes would stop working. Tool icons would freak out. This was discussed at length on the boards, and Chris from Adobe said everyone at Adobe and Apple were aware of the issue due to video card incompatibilities (?) and Lion.
Happy to report that all that behavior has dissapeared with Photoshop CS5 running on Mountain Lion (beta v1). It works as it was meant to. Yeah!
Thought I would report back as all those threads have been locked for awhile.
BruceThanks to the USB hub, Now Huawei E303C Datacard is working all fine in my new MacBook Pro 13" i7 Mid 2012 model.
For experiment purpose, I purchased one USB 2.0 hub (Unknown Chinese model).
I connected Datacard to USB hub and USB hub to MacBook Pro USB port.
Hurray!! Datacard is detected by MacBook Pro.
So, the problem is with MacBook Pro's new USB ports (USB 2.0 and 3.0 integrated in a single port) and Huawei E303C Datacard.
It is a hardware support issue with Huawei E303C Datacard.
I hope this will solve your problem too.

Photoshop CS6 bug? Can't use brush tool on newly created layer.
Has anyone encountered this problem before - I'm using a Wacom intuos 2 and working up some illustraitons, but whenever I create a new layer, the brush tool goes completely defunct and makes absolutely no marks on the document. I have gotten in the habit of just restarting Photoshop, and then it works. Am I accidently hitting some setting that I missed?
Thanks.Mylenium might be correct on the Wacom driver, and PS CS 6 (if you have not installed the latest driver from Wacom, I would do that), but to check things out, I would Reset the Brush Tool's Options. Next, I would verify that I had created a New Layer (a "regular Layer," and not, say a Shapes Layer), then check that I had no Selections active in that regular Layer. Those can be common reasons why some Tools do not function, as they should.
I also have an Intuos 2, but have not hooked that up to my PS CS 6, so cannot directly comment on the drivers for it, with CS 6. Maybe I will have time to install the drivers, and hook that up to my laptop next week. Will report on how it works for me.
Good luck,

Photoshop CS6 bugs + lagging ??
My Photoshop CS6 is having problem, not really a big problem but it gets very irritating when especially on urgent work.
Below is my Photoshop CS6 Problem:
I have 4 buttons not listening to my order, maybe more but so far I only found 4. ( "B" for brush, "E" for eraser and "[" for reducing brush and "]" for enlarging brush )
OK, when after I press "B" for painting, OK fine, everything works fine...BUT....when I want to erase, I press "E", the cursor is not changing into eraser tool, the cursor still display in the brush tool mode, and the same goes for all 4 buttons above.
I have no solutions yet so far, what I do now is, after I press "B", I will have to click my mouse again at least once on anywhere of my workspace to turn the cursor from eraser mode into brush mode.
How to solve this problem? someone please help and thanks.Hi Chris, good that you reply so quickly.
Ok, I have been using Photoshop CS4 for 1 year plus and I was very satisfy with that product, no complaints at all. << Good product Adobe Photoshop CS4 !
Now, when I got my new IMAC (see specs below) nearly a year ago together with new Photoshop CS6, this Photoshop CS6 LAGGINGS problem torturing me since.
What else about your system could be causing lag? I only use Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, VLC Player, Sketchup, Skype, Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, that about all Video card driver? see my specs below Something else computing in the background or actively using the hard disk? Nothing
What other application or utility are you using that intercepts those specific keys? I desperately want to find out too
MY SPECS:
IMAC (27 inch, late 2013)
Processor 3.5GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 24GB 1600Mhz DDR3

Photoshop CS5 bug - shape layers icons disappear
So I'm having this normal PSD when suddenly all the shape layer icons disappear and nothing seems to work to get them back. (I've tried restarting photoshop, computer, open the PSD from another PC) They work like they are there, double click and all that but just the icons are missing. It's not the first time happening and I noticed it happens after the layers get's a lot. Anyone has a fix for that?
If you click on the fly-out menu icon at the upper-right of the Layers panel, then choose Panel Options, then choose a different sized icon, do they reappear?
Only other thing that comes to mind is to update your display driver by visiting the web site of the manufacturer of your video card (e.g., nVidia.com or ATI.com) and locating the driver package that matches your hardware and operating system.
Can you make a small PSD file (e.g., by cropping your master file quite a bit) and post it online? Others could try opening it and seeing if the icons are there.
