Photoshop CS5 error message 213:5

After I restored my Macbook Air from a backup, Photoshop wouldn't open. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, removed preferences from the library, and did everything else recommended online. Is there a way to fix it?

  • Photoshop CS5: error when printing to Xerox Phaser 7750

    Mac 10.6.5
I get the following error when I print directly to my Xerox Phaser 7750 from Photoshop CS5:
    "Error: /Library/Printers/Xerox/Filters/pstophaserps failed"
All the other CS5 apps (plus Photoshop CS4) have no trouble printing.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Something doesn't add up since PS CS4 works ok. What's different about CS5? 64bit?
My guess would be that Photoshop is the only app you use that prints PostScript through the Cocoa drivers, and thus the only one hitting that particular part of the driver software.

  • HELP - illustrator cs5 error message when opening cs3 files

Has anyone else had this issue? Do you know how to fix it.
I just bought and downloaded cs5. When opening Illustrator cs3 files I get an error message: "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the requested operation."
Then it opens the file but I it is only line work (no fills, gradients, etc) and I can not do anything in the file. If I click an object the error message pops up again.
This is what it looks like in cs3.
This is how it displays in cs5
I cant find anything online about this issue. Also this occurs on all of my illustrator files, not just one.
    any advice?
    thanks

I think your current system should be fine for running Illustrator CS5. Please let us know if the original problem happens for you again.
I think your system is also fine for running Adobe Illustrator CS 5 but of course you are running the system as well and a browser and e-mail client…and perhaps Adobe Photoshop or Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Word in which case I think there might be on occasion an out of memory issue and with a complex file you will lose your preview.
I have lost my preview as well on certain files and found that it usually is because I had trashed the preferences and forgot to set the scratch to a different disk other than the startup disk.
I have 16 GB of RAm and once in a while I still lose the preview.

  • Windows cannot find Photoshop CS5 Error in Bridge

This is really about Photoshop CS6 Beta but this error is generated whenever I tried to open a file from Bridge, either Bridge [12.1 or 13.0].  It was frustrating at first.
I tried to figure out why I was receiving this message.  Originally, I had Photoshop CS5 on my system.  Then, I upgraded to Photoshop CS5 Extended.  Finally, I installed Photoshop CS6 Beta.  After the last install, I decided to uninstall Photoshop CS5 which I no longer used.  These are 64-bit programs but I doubt that makes a difference.  Whenever I opened Bridge for Photoshop CS5 Extended or Photoshop CS6 Beta, the shown error would generate.  After reviewing the error closely, I decided to try and look at file associations but not in Windows as I had no problems elsewhere.  It must be in Bridge.
I went to Edit -> Preferences and found a File Type Associations section with every file type it uses.  Sure enough, by clicking on the triangle to the right of the file type, it showed only Photoshop.  By clicking on Browse and going to the Photoshop CS6 Beta folder, I was able to change a couple of the ones I use exclusively and clicked OK.  Afterwards, no problems.  To change each and every one of those is going to require some time on my part.
This brings up an important question regarding upgrades.  I think most of us upgrade before uninstalling the old version.  Here are my questions:
    1. Why did not the Bridge associated with the extended version change the file associations to the appropriate version of CS5 when it was installed?
    2. Why did not the Bridge associated with Photoshop CS6 Beta change the file associations to this version when installed?
At the very least, it should be an option but I think it should actually point to the new version.  Is this a bug in the Bridge software?  I know Bridge is used for other Adobe applications but this definitely seems to be a bug when the only application iis Photoshop.  I have Lightroom 4 also installed but this application does not use Bridge.  Can this be corrected?

Looks like bridge is still trying to run the old version.  Did you uninstall Photoshop CC after installing Photoshop CC 2014?
Have you made sure and fully closed Bridge and reopened it?  Logging off and back on would ensure that.
Failing the above, people have reported success with using the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool followed by a reinstall of Photoshop CC 2014...

  • CS5 error message after installing Genuine Fractals 6

I've just installed Genuine Fractals 6 into CS5 and when I launch PS, I get the following error message - see screen grab.
I've now removed GF but I still get the error message. Anyone know how to rectify this?

Since my prior message I have installed 6.0.6 into Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 x64 and I do not see the error you are describing.  Perhaps there are several different CoreFoundation.dlls on your system, and Genuine Fractals is accessing the wrong one.
Is yours the 6.0.6 version?  And are you seeing it in 32 bit Photoshop or 64 bit or both?
    What is your operating system?
Sounds like their installer didn't remove everything it installed.
If it can help you to remove all the files, these are the files it installed into my Photoshop 32 bit folder, all having a Mod date of 5/31/2010.  Note that there are several more beyond the list shown above:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\CoreFoundation.dll"
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\glut32.dll"
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\icudt42.dll"

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins\Panels\onOne\onOne.swf"
Make sure all of the above are removed.
Also, you should try resetting your prefs (Ctrl-Shift-Alt immediately after starting Photoshop).
