Photoshop Error: End-of-File

I posted a screenshot of the problem here: http://dribbble.com/shots/198110-Great-Way-to-Start-the-Day
I'm using Windows Professional 7. I just installed Adobe Design Premium 5.5 a couple days ago. The machine I'm using is brand new, fresh out of the package. All the settings are still the original. I saved the file last night and it worked fine and now I'm receiving that error.
Can this be fixed? If not, how can I prevent this in the future? What can Adobe do to fix this problem from happening again?
Thank you,
Timothy Whalin

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
I just ran into this same error  with Photoshop and Bridge when I tried to open pictures that have been  on my computer for months and have previously opened with no problem. I  could view the pictures in Windows Photo Gallery, but couldn't edit the  camera raw files. I found a simple solution (at least as far as getting the pictures to read again), so see if it works for you:
If  you have MS Paint or some other picture editing program, see if you can  open the pictures in those. Then check if the program wil save in the  .TIFF or .TIF format, and if it does, save it, but be sure not to save  over the old file just in case someting goes wrong or you find a better  solution. Now, hopefully, you should be able to open and edit it as  before. I was even able to edit the photo in Camera Raw, even though I'm  pretty sure .TIFF is not a raw format. But it is a lossless format, so I  guess it kept all the data or something.
Hope this helps!

  • MAXDB backup failed with error: end of file reached -917

Hi I am performing a complete data backup for a database which is about 230 GB.
Previously it had run successfully for many days, but since yesterday, I began to receive such error:

I also had a look at the logs, and found below, could someone help me look into this issue?

    Hello Shaun,
Thank you so much for your reply. But I've checked that my F drive still have more than 480GB free space, so the space should not be the problem.
And I've just run the backup once again, this time it keeps running for 2 hours, and then failed again with the same error.
Is there other possible reasons of this error?
    Thanks a lot,
    Vivian

  • ORA Error : end-of-file on communication channel

    Hello everyone !
Every time i excuted a simple select query of type
    select X from Y where (z=1 or z=2 or z=3) i got a oracle error "ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel ".
Can anybody tell me why this error occurs, also sometime i got the result also again some time i end up with this error.
Is there anything wrong with my pro*c application or i need to do some configuration for the same.
    thanx in advance.

    Hiii ....
We don't have any firwall between the clients and the server it is directly connected through the gateway.
onece i received the error : "end-of-file on communication channel ", its not restoring back the connection and all queryies made after that is giving the same error untill i stop and rerun the pro*c application.

  • New error, "end of file"

I'm a bit stumped by this one..
<background> Been using CPS just fine for 3-4 months
    without any significant issues </background>
It wasn't used for a few days, and now when I try to boot
Contribute I get the error "end of file or no input:'Operation
interrupted or timed out'" None of the server settings have
    changed.
I am able to login to the web admin and test the LDAP bind,
and it is working, but seems to be a bit slow. I can do lookups,
and successfully test authentication. But again, it's slow.
I'm wondering if it is timing out when using contribute,
since it is slow. And is the issue the LDAP, or HTTPS, because the
error says, "when trying to connect to https://mywebsite" Maybe my
sys admin changed something in the firewall, LDAP, or AD. However I
need to narrow this down to the service where the error is.
    TIA.
    John

Just a follow for the thread archives. My suspicions about
the issue having to do with timeouts was correct, however was out
of my control. There were some changes with our AD Domain
Controller (DC), and it was erring out. When using the web
interface, I was in essence testing through DC1, but when working
in another building and working with dreamweaver and Contribute I
was hitting DC2 in the AD domain where my errors were occurring.
Best of luck in solving your problem.

  • Read waveform from file error: end of file

    Hi,
I want to to save waveforms from DAQ and then, after the acquisition is stopped, I want to see again that waveforms to analyse my data.
I tried to do a simple VI in which simulated signals can be saved to a file and can be read drom that file too. This is possible by using a Save Button and a Read Button. The problem is that when the Save Button is OFF and the Read Button is ON the error "End of file" occours, even if I know that there are more data that can be read from the file.
    I read from
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/End-Of-File-Error/m-p/387817#M193812
that this could be solved by choosing the option "Reload for each call" for the Read block, but it doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone have an idea to solve that?
    Thanks

First, a suggestion -- since your file name is the same every time, put a single instance of it outside your While loop and bring it into the loop as a "tunnel", using the same wire for all your Case statements.
I don't understand the logic of your construction.  You have a While loop that never stops.  As long as "Write" is true, it writes to a (new originally?) file, presumably appending at the end, closing the file after the write.  If Read is true, it tries to read the i-th Waveform.  What if there are less than i writes?
Why not simplify things.  Remove the While loop, remove the Case Statements and Read/Write buttons, and simply do one Simulate Signal, one Write, and one Read (not wiring anything into the Read's Record selector).  Does that work?  If so, then think about how you might extend this to handle multiple reads and writes.  Is there ever a situation when you envision doing Reads while you are also doing Writes?  Isn't it more likely that, at any instance, you are going to be doing only Writes (for example, while generating data) or only Reads (while analyzing the saved data)?  [I'm not saying that you might want to do both simultaneously, but if you don't have to, don't complicate things for yourself].

  • Major problem with Photoshop unexpected end of file...

Every time I save a file in Photoshop, I have to save it twice per format (psd, jpg, etc...).  That's because if I've ever saved the file before, I get an unexpected end of file error and the file disappears until I do a save as.  I downloaded the latest update today and it claimed to have fixed major errors with Photoshop.  I wonder what major errors exactly were fixed; and why not this one?  As far as errors go, it's pretty effing major.  It adds significant time to all of my projects and frankly, if I'm spending exorbitant amounts of money for "industry-leading" software, I expect to be able to save my work painlessly.  Oh well, I guess it'll only be another couple months before I have to shell out another $1200 bucks for the CS6 right?  Maybe then I'll be able to actually save my work.
p.s. CS2/3/4 did not have this issue - sweet upgrade Adobe, thanks.

Again, this is not a known issue.   You are the first person to bring this up without a bad disk drive, and it is probably due to something on your file server.
Yes, other people get the same error message - because they are dealing with corrupt files for one reason or another.  You are getting the message because the files are corrupt, probably because of an issue with your file server.
Photoshop CS4 and earlier used the Carbon framework on MacOS.  Photoshop CS5 is written to the Cocoa framework/APIs and uses different OS code paths for many things.  We have seen many cases where the Cocoa APIs had problems that the Carbon APIs did not.  Unfortunately, if we cannot work around those API issues, then they are up to Apple to fix.
But in this case, I doubt it is an OS API bug as such.  I suspect it is a change in the way the OS APIs interact with the file server.
And cases like this are high up on the list of why we say NOT to open or save from a file server -- you can get a lot of odd, difficult to diagnose errors because of problems on the server or network.  Those problems have nothing to do with the application, but may appear to because of the complexity of file servers and networking.
Some Photoshop users do open and save off a file server all the time - without problems.  When we test with file servers here inside Adobe, we rarely have problems (and the rare problem was due to a bad disk on the server).  But we can't guarantee that everyone's network and everyone's file server is going to work perfectly - and evidence suggests that many of them don't work perfectly.
In short: you probably have a bad file server.  It is highly unlikely that this is a bug in Photoshop.

  • Xlmplsql parser error - end of file in communication channel

    I receive:
end of file in communication channel error while trying to parse big xml files (at about 50 KB).
I am using plxmlparser_v1_0_2 with database 8.1.7. The xml and xsl files are stored in clob columns.
When I parse smaller files everthing works fine.
Is there any limitation for xml file size?
    How to solve that problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your answer.
The system is a little bit complicated - there are several xsl files are imported by other xsl files.

  • End-of-file on communication channel error when starting database

    Hi All,
I have small problem, when we specify at startup without any pfile, it will go to read spfile,in our case it gives error end-of-file on communication channel.
Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue?
    Thank you
    Chirag

Oracle unable to spawn job slave processes should not prevent the instance from starting - these are not critical system processes and the instance can function without them (as it can when the job queue is set to zero processes).
The o/s failure message also does not make much sense.. overlapped I/O is Microsoft Windows term for async I/O. This can be used at file I/O level, but is also supported for any other file handle like sockets - thus applicable at the network layer too.
I'm a bit confused to how a PFILE versus a SPFILE startup can cause this. If that is the case, then surely there are something different ito init instance settings that triggers this error?
Can you copy and paste the actual SQL*Plus session (as already requested). Show us startup command (and params) used in SQL*Plus and the resulting messages (and errors displayed) in response to the startup.

  • Quicktime 7 - End of file Error

All of a sudden, Quicktime 7 Pro stopped working
Whenever I try to play a video I either get an error "end of file reached"  or "the movie can't be opened"
This happens with files I know to be good .
I have tried running  the Quicktime 7.6.6 installer again but get the same issue
    Mac using OS 10.7.5.
    Quicktime 7.6.6

Yes, definitely, the GB Project file is corrupt, delete it, empty the trash, and it would be a good idea to run some kind of disk repair program, even if it's just Disk Utility. Then create a new project file.

  • End-of-file in communication channel while querying the data

We are using ColdFusion(Windows) to access an Oracle - 8.1.7
database. I have context indexes setup on the data for search
    purposes.
If I use a package to query the database and return some values,
when many people use the call to the package I get the following
    error:
    End-of-file in commnuication channel
And many other users lose connection to the database. The
database, however does not go down.
The same logic works well on the development database where
    traffic is less.
If we replace the stored proc call by the individual sql
statements there are no problems. Due to complexity of the
program, I would like to use stored procs instead of sql
    statements in the ColdFusion code.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    07445:exception encountered:core dump [kopedga()+200] [SIGSEGV]
[Address not mapped to object] ....
ORA-7445 is a core dump (segmentation fault) and is a bug in the
    database.
You have now the following options:
    If you have metalink access:
    1. You can have a look if you find a bug entry and then see
when it will be fixed (e.g. search for 'ORA-7445 kopedga').
    2. Create an iTAR in Metalink.
If you don't have metalink access:
    3. Use the latest patchset and try again and hope that it is
    fixed.

  • Loadjava with end-of-file on communication channel

    Hello,
I have a job that needs to load all the OIM jar files in the lib/ and ext/ directories into the database.
The majority of the jar files got loaded fine. However, some of them would result in the following error:
    resolving: class com/thortech/xl/security/wl/XellerateAuthenticationProviderImpl
    Error while resolving com/thortech/xl/security/wl/XellerateAuthenticationProviderImpl
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
This was for the xlAuthentication.jar file in the lib directory.
I was trying to load them in a oracle 10g db on my laptop. The loadjava command I used is as follows:
    loadjava -user username/pwd@SID -v -resolve -genmissing filename.jar
Please let me know how you fixed this if you ran into it before.
    Thanks

    Ashok,
    a) Full Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0
    b) OS, MS Windows XP
    c) I am trying to reproduce the errors so I can post the log, but I have not been successful. I reloaded the jars that caused an error end-of-file on communication channel. The error disappeared completely for some jars. For other jars, I got cannot resolve due to class not found error.
There is one more jar that I would like to try reloading, which is the weblogic.jar. The last time I tried to load it, it ran for a day and half.
I'll try loading weblogic.jar and let you know how it goes.
    Thanks

Different operating systems? Perhaps its not the maxl script but a parameter that gets passed in from the batch script? Certain things change such as the system time variable between operating systems. I remember that caught me out although I wasn't doing anything to do with essbase at the time.
I'm 99% sure this error is generated from the maxl interpreter
