Photoshop "Fill" Dialog Box is missing "Scripted Pattern" option..

Photoshop "Fill" Dialog Box (using the most current Creative Cloud) is missing "Scripted Pattern" option which is supposed to be at the very bottom. Instead, in the middle of the box I have the option to check the word "Script" which brings up only six fill patterns (such as Brick, Sprial, etc). In the tutorials I see that by using Scripted Patterns (the tree option for one) brings up many, many choices.

Big changes made in Fill between CC and CC 2014. CC Fill dialog on top CC2014 Fill dialog bottom. Picture Frame and Tree moved from Fill to Render Filter and new Flame pattern added into render filter grouped with Picture Frame and Tree.

Photoshop opens dialog box when trying to fill a layer with transparent pixels locked

This script should set the layer to lock transparent pixels, and then fill the layer with a color. It does that, except when it gets to the fill stage, it opens the fill dialog box, and you have to hit okay.
If you omit the transparent pixel line, it runs as expected, no dialog box.
Is there a way to suppress the box? Or am I doing something wrong that's causing the box to open?

Not sure why that happens.
But I would recommend foregoing the locking and using the AM code for a Fill that honours the transparency.

Fill Dialog Box

Okay, I work in channels a lot. In CS5 if you make a new doc, then make a new channel and load an item and hit delete it brings up the Fill Dialog Box. In the older versions it would just fill with the background color. Is there any way to get it to go back to that? I found a way around it, if I make a new layer before trying to Fill then it goes back to the old way, filling with the background color without asking me first. It's not that big a deal, just an inconvenience. I work with a lot of my coworkers art and they have an older versions of Photoshop, so none of theirs has the layer made, they are usually flattened, so I have to remember to make a blank layer before starting. It's just annoying if I'm making a large change and have several channels selected and have forgotten to do it. Also they are all upgrading so it's going to become an issue for everyone, since we have thousands of art files that were probably saved with flattened layers. I'm in the screen printing business and we make all the channels for the separate color output, that is why I use channels so much. Just in case you were wondering. Thanks.

You could asign »Clear« one of the function keys in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, I guess.
As for streamlining your cursor-distances: Have you installed Configurator yet?
I have found that very convenient for avoiding a lot of click-move-stuff if one has sufficient screen real estate.

"Security Warning" dialog box when click script set to Run at Server

I am rendering a PDF form using the renderForm component. I'm setting the Target URL. I have a script on a button set to "run at server". I can render my form in a browser and fill it out, but when I click the button I get a dialog box with a title of "Security Warning". It says "Acrobat is attempting to connect to [target URL]" with options to Allow or Block. Is this the expected behaviour for server-side execution of scripts?
I'm thinking that maybe I should just use a submit button instead. The problem with that though, is that I don't want to run the mandatory field rules and validation rules. As I understand, you can't submit a form with a submit button unless all the mandatory fields are completed.
Here's the requirement. I need to have two "submit" buttons. One checks all the mandatory field rules before submitting a "final" version of the form. The other button submits a "draft" version without the mandatory checks. I was hoping that the second button could be implemented as a normal command button with a script that executes server-side. Sure enough, it attempted to submit without checking the mandatory fields. Unfortunately I ran into other undesirable side-effects including a distressing "Security Warning" dialog box.

How do I place only the Photoshop Elements dialog box on my dock?

I am using Photoshop Elemetns 9 on an imac running the Lion operating system. I want to have only the welcome diaolg box on my dock so I have the option of opening the editor, or the organizer, or having access to my photos stored with Adobe. At the present time my dock has a single PSE icon. When I click on this icon the Welcome dialog box is
bypassed and the editor is opened. I am using iphoto to organize my 5000+ pictures and Photoshop Elements 9 for more advanced editing. But I will probably be moving all my photos to the Photoshop Elements Organizer as soon as I organize the photos in iphoto Events. This is because there are too many steps required to move edited photos back from
Photoshop Elements 9 to iphoto. Now I have to move these photos onto my desktop before I can get them back into iphoto. Can anyone help me with these two BIG PROBLEMS? A direct response to my e-mail would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Click the little house at the end of the menu bar in either editor or organizer to bring up the welcome screen and then click hold the welcome screen's dock icon and choose Keep in Dock.
However, it sounds like you aren't using PSE and iphoto in the most efficient way. See this for more about your options:

I have a powershell script to login to an IE website and everything works fine excepting when I call a modal dialog box. I've attached the line where the modula dialog is invoked. When it gets to this part the script hangs and I'm unable
to get past this. I've googled a few articles where it suggests I should run an a scheduled task to scrape for the modal dialog box but I've tried it without much luck. If you can please give me some pointers on resolving this issue.

Dialog Box and VBS Scripting

Within the dialog box I have a combo box and an Edit box. I would like to take the value I select from the Combo Box and have it used in a calculation and then output to the edit box.

When I choose "find/replace" the dialog box does not show up.
It is in my task bar, but I can't seem to get it to show up on my
screen. I've tried changing the workspace layout and even deleting
my configuration folder to no avail. Please help!

History dialog box is missing in the BEx

Hi everybody,
I am looking for a solution to display the "History" Dialog Box in the "SAP Bex : Select query". Currently the "Favorites", "Roles" and "Infoareas" are displayed normally. Is there any ckeckbox to select somewhere?

Welcome to the SDN! To display the histriy you need to do the following:
In BW transaction SPRO > open up NetWeaver > Business Information Warehouse > Reporting relevant settings > General reporting settings in Busness Explorer > Activate Personlisation in BEx > Check Activate BEx History and execute.

What are the advantages of utilizing a dynamic VI compared to utilizing the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box Reload for each call option?

Is it more efficient to use a dynamic VI or utilize the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box which apparently can perform the same function? I realize that there are restrictions on using the VI Call Configuration Dialog Box, however, if my scenario doesn't concern the restrictions, why would I want to go thru the trouble of creating a dynamic VI when I could simply click on the VI of interest and configure from a menu? Are there performance advantages? Thanks in advance!

Generally, I wouldn't recommend playing with the call setup dialog at all (for those who don't know it, you can get to it by right clicking a subVI in the BD). By default, VIs are configured to load with callers and that's the correct options for almost all static VIs. The Open VI Reference primitive has multiple advantages:
It allows you to select different VIs dynamically.
It allows you to spawn multiple copies of reentrant VIs.
It allows you to perform asynch runs (although I think that this is something that should actually be available through the call setup dialog).
It allows you to open references to VIs in other application instances.
In the rare cases where you do want the same functionality that the call setup dialog gives you, it doesn't hide it.

SInce Tiger to Leopard Upgrade, Print Dialog Box Is too Basic, No Options

Since I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard recently, it seems the print dialog box for my HP printers (Officejet 8500 Pro Wireless, Photosmart 6150) is small and basic and does not offer the print options I am used to having like selecting a specific page to print instead of printing them all. Any way to restore that functionality and get back to the larger more flexible dialog box?

Thought I did and all that did was offer different printers, but I am wrong and you are right. Blue triangle is exactly what I was looking for.

I am thinking the Folder dialog is not correct for this application.
On a second thought a persistent dialog to set the save folder path and run the script from the persistent dialog can make sense.
Any ideas?

Realtime Dialog boxes in Bash Scripting

I would like to try and push the output of FFMPEG and HandBrake into a dialog window using the dialog command.
I noticed there is a tailbox option but I cannot find much information on how to use this.
Does anyone have any examples I could work off?
I thought maybe using something like the below would work. But it doesn't.
ffmpeg -i 02.ts -acodec pcm_s16le -ac 2 02.wav | dialog --title "Extracing" --tailbox 10 75
What would be the best way to this to create something like this?

Tailbox requires a file parameter. So you'll need to do one of the following:
ffmpeg -i 02.ts -acodec pcm_s16le -ac 2 02.wav > outfile &
dialog --title "Extracing" --tailbox outfile 10 75
dialog --title "Extracing" --tailbox <(ffmpeg -i 02.ts -acodec pcm_s16le -ac 2 02.wav) 10 75
In the first case, you may need to use `mkfifo outfile` then change the > to a >>.
EDIT: wait, why are you trying to use tailbox? Progress box is exactly what you want.

Can's single side print anymore - dialog box is missing

Apple OS has become so very frustrating over the past couple of years.
We are running 10.10.2 and have the latest printer drivers for our network printer.
Everything prints duplex. Very annoying. On the page where the option to switch between single sided and duplex use to be when changing the printer features, this option is no longer there.
Yes, I know how to look everywhere. I've been in mac support for over 15 years.
Anybody know where to find this option?

Interesting, because it's usually the duplex feature that doesn't work for most users.
Under System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Options... is Duplexer checked? On my computer, if Duplexer is unchecked, the ability to switch between duplex and single sided is disabled in the Print... > Layout settings
