Mac: Photoshop stürzt permanent ab. Gesamter Computer geht dabei aus (schwarz). Jedesmal bei bestimmten Arbeitsschritten – z.B. Auswahl / Ausschnitt bestimmen.
Weiß jemand eine Lösung? Habe sogar Photoshop CS6 deinstalliert und dafür Photoshop CS5 installiert. Und es ändert nichts. Stürzt trotzdem ab.
Habe auch die Prefs von Photoshop auf den Schreibtisch gelegt und beim Start die Einstellungen zurückgesetzt: nützt alles nichts.

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?
What exactly do you mean by "geht dabei aus" – is just the screen going blank or does the computer actually restart?

Older version might not work if your C: drive is bigger than 1TeraByte. -

Greetings from a Photoshop Newbie. I need a computer, preferably a Mac laptop, with some serious processing power. I take photos with a Pentax 645Z; files are 50MB raw. I upload from Adobe Bridge and manipulate the photo, sometimes turning them into files in excess of 250MB. I cannot resize as the large files are needed for enlargements. Have all sorts of problems trying to manipulate, add effects and saving most large files. I need some serious processing power. Can anyone suggest what Mac i should purchase? I thank you in advance for your help :-)
It sounds as if you're having some system-related problems now, unrelated to processing power as such. In particular, a buggy video driver can cause everything to slow to a crawl.
Medium format files are big, true, but not so big as to cause significant slowdowns on a normally functioning and reasonably current computer. A laptop will always be slower than a well-equipped desktop system, though. Mac vs PC plays no part in this, performance is unrelated to platform.
Bottlenecks are different in ACR and Photoshop, so that should give you a clue. ACR is computing-intensive and mostly limited by CPU speed. Photoshop, however, is mostly bandwidth-intensive and mainly limited by memory and disk throughput. It's also sensitive to GPU issues. -
I had Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 on old computer & transferred to new computer - this file is now empty, so I must have deleted photos. Is it possible to restore them?
Photoshop Elements 4 is too old. It was written for PowerPC Macs and will not work on new Intel Macs. There is nothing you can do about it.

Hi I am trying to download adobe photoshop cs5 on my new desktop computer. The program was purchased several years ago so I called Adobe the other day and had them walk me through how to download on my new computer. I have done all the steps and it downloaded into my downloads folder however not it will not install. It is saying my security preferences allow installations of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. ???? I don't know how to go about changing these settings? Please help!
You should be able just to either right click on the installer or Control click and choose Open and then the installer should work.
(that temporarily overrides the security settings)

I've just installed Photoshop Elements 12 on my PC computer. At the end of the installation, I received a message that the installation was successful. I then tried to click on the desktop icon, but it won't open. Any ideas as to what could be going on? Thanks very much!

Please follow these steps:
Try to rename SLCacje to Slcache.old
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
and
SLStore to Slstore.old
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
and Right Click on the Photoshop Elements 12 icon and run as administrator

Due to Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer I uninstalled the program. When I re-installed Photoshop Elements 12 on the same computer the "Photoshop Elements 12.0.exe" file is not available. I have tried loading Photoshop Elements 12 from the Adobe web site without success.
The Elements 12 shortcut can't find the Elements12.0.exe file so the program will not load. I can load the editor from its .exe file but not the organizer.

You would have to find some third party vendor and take your chances there. Adobe does not sell older versions of their software.

I uninstalled it and now am trying to reinstall from the CDs that I own and it will not read the disk. Nothing happens. I had previously downloaded it to my laptop and work computer. You can't run PSE from a USB drive, nor can you transfer PSE to a different computer via a USB drive. PSE must be installed on a computer using the installer program provided by Adobe.

The photoshop window is larger than my computer screen. How do I resize it so I can see the bottom controls? I tried dragging the corner, but it only moves vertically. I need the horizontal to move so I can see the bottom of the window.
Which version of photoshop and operating system are you using?
On a mac, did you try clicking on the Green Maximize button?
On a windows os did you try the Maximize button at the top right of the photoshop window?
