PI URL to receive HTTP

Hi,
To receive an HTTPS request from external partner, which URL we need to provide them so that they can send the XML file to PI over HTTP protocol.
1. https://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/adapter_plain
2. https://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=<ns>&interface=<int>&service=<ser>&party=<party>&sap-client=100
3. https://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry

SOAP adapter supports HTTP cals too.
refer below link it will help how to form HTTP Query string , in this case you dont required to publish sender agrement and SOAP channel not required.

How to send the payload to a jsp using receiver Http adapter?

Hi experts,
I have this scenario from Legacy to XI to external app server.I have a test jsp to execute that functionality .Its a jsp which has 1 textarea named "test" and when I click on the submit buton I get a response back.This way I am able to test this independently.Now from XI when I am executing my scenario I am getting status code '1250' and message as ' http request(test) is null'.Now in the scenario in http adapter I just provide the target host : ip of server ,
service number : port no ,
path: the container or the request handler. But this scenario fails and gives me the above erroneous response.Now Basically I am not able to get how to send the value to the textarea "test"? please provide help as soon as possible.Do we have to put the name of the jsp in the "path" in http adapter and use prolog as test=.I tried this but it doesnt work.
Is there any way to check the URL that it forms after appending the querystring in the url ...?
So please provide help on this or suggest a solution to [email protected] as soon as possible.....

thanx for that prompt reply but I have configured the communication channel in the same manner as suggested by u.
actually I have this jsp page http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/abcdef/try/efg.jsp where there is a textarea "test" which has to be filled and there is a submit button.When I test this http client i.e the above jsp page independently then it goes to handler
http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/abcdef/trial/ And it gives a proper response message after clicking on the submit button.
now I want to carry out the same using receiver http adapter. I need to pass the value for this inputfield names "test" on that jsp . so right now I have configyured the adapter as
addressing type: url
target host : xx.xx.xx.xx
service no:8080
path : here I have given the path of handler i.e /abcdef/trial I tried giving the jsp page also but logically I guess it should be the handler.
content type: text/xml; charset=iso-8859-1
xml code: UTF-8
Mask special characters (URL escaping) checked.
now since the name of the inputfield is "test" in the prolog I gave test=
But it doesnt work I get this error "http request parameter [test] is null" in the response message which I guess suggests that it is not able to send the value for the field"test" to that handler.Please suggest how to send this and tell me if there are any other configurations that I have to do in the receiver communication channel.

Received HTTP response code 500..

Hi All
Whenever i try a scenario with file adapter as the sender, i get the following error in the runtime workbench (message monitoring).
"Transmitting the message to endpoint http://USSAPVM7:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 500.."
Can anyone let me know as to what could be the cause of the problem. Please remember the response code is 500 and not 503.

My pipeline url has the following entry,
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute
so u recommend that i should change it to,
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=entry
(or)
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?type=entry
(or)
http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
which one of the above three should i change to. But whenever i try other scenarios such as idoc to file, it works fine. So by changing the pipeline url, will there be any problem while executing the the other scenarios.

Dynamic URL for Recv HTTP (Adapter spec attribute enabled)

I need to have a dynamic URL for one of my cases been worked. the URL is
httlp://:<host>/perform/XTA?serv=*&action=start
the event "action" can accept either start/stop or restart. i wanna to control this dynamically and went for recv http enabled with adapter specific message attributes. here i had enabled the check box "URL" and in parameter 1 i had given the name as "action".
in my message payload the "action" will be start/stop or restart which is handled by UDF for which the code is below:l

Enable Adapter-Specific Message Attributes(ASMA) in receiver HTTP channel.
Dont enable checkboxes for "URL or HTTP Destination".
Enable checkbox "Apply URL Parameters"
for parameter1 textbox give value action

Received HTTP response code 500 with acknowledgment

Hello,
This is my process : R/3 (Idoc) -> XI -> 3rdParty(CSV).
I use R/3 4.6C and XI 3.0 SP10
This work fine but there is a problem with the acknowledgment :
Transmitting the message to endpoint http://<server>:8000/sap/xi/engine/entry?action=execute using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 500..

and all I can find in this forum.
What can I do ?

HTTP 500 is an error caused at the Web Server side. Any http connection happens in 4 steps:
1) Obtain the IP address from the URL - provied by DNS
2) Open Ip Socket for that IP
3) Use this socket to write data
4) Receive data stream back from the server.
This data stream which is passed by the server has status codes. If there is a status code 500, this is trapped only at the last level and client is not able to resolve the status.
You would want to look at the 4 points of faliure mentioned above. And it would help if u get someone on the Web Server side to look at the server logs. These logs are more descriptive and will provide a clue to set things right.

Error when setting dynamically the target URL in receiver SOAP Adapter

I'm setting dynamically (from the mapping) the target URL in the receiver SOAP adapter:

The receiver adapter fails with:
"invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 401 Unauthorized"
Reading weblogs, etc, the most probable cause for this is a wrong target URL, but then what I did was to set it as a fixed URL in the C.Channel, and it worked, so the URL is fine.
In the communication channel, I'm using "Configure user authentication", with a user and password, and what I think it's happening is that if I use another different URL dynamically, the channel is ignoring the user authentication settings.
Any ideas?

I forgot to say that I've checked the SAP note "FAQ Soap adapter", and it says:
Q: I get an authorization error "401 Unauthorized" from the adapter's servlet. What went wrong?
           A: The adapter's servlet is protected by default. You must use one of the user names assigned in security role xi_adapter_soap_message for component XISOAPAdapter. Please consult the documentation for Visual Administrator to view and change the security setting.
           The user authentication of the SOAP adapter is not part of the SOAP adapter but of the web container of the J2EE engine. The default authentication setting is defined in the web.xml descriptor file of the SOAP dapter web application. This setting may be modified from Visual Administrator with some restriction. Please refer to the security documentation for the J2EE engine.
           Please note that 710 onwards there is no Visual Administrator instead the Netweaver Administrator is to be used to assign the roles to the user to access the SOAP adater servlet.The user must be assigned one of the following roles SAP_XI_IS_SERV_USER, SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER, SAP_XI_DEVELOPER_J2EE, SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE.
The target URL is a sender soap adapter (the result of one interface is sent to another one via soap adapter), and it's this one which is complaining because of the authentication I think. But I don't know why it's ignoring the user authentication flag I'm using.

Receiver HTTP Adapter Dynamic Query String

Hello,
I am using HTTP Adapter on receiver side.
My URL is <b>http://server:port/abc/def?xyz=123&luw=345</b>
When I am using Adapter specific attributes.
If I check apply Parameters and pass
Parameter 1 as xyz and Parameter 2 as luw and pass their values through dynamic configuration will they get appended to the dynamic querystring
http://server:port/abc/def at the end and I get back the complete URL.
Can this be achieved? I am stuck on this.

The best way to debug this and check what is happening would be to use the TCP gateway tool as shown in this blog by Stefan Grube.

Send the request to the TCP gateway and forward it from there to the correspionding target.
You will be able to see the URL being passed including the Query String parameters.

Error com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP res 404

Hi Friends,
In file to file scenario i am getting this error.
Transmitting the message to endpoint http://spcc-sappidev:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 404 : Not Found
When i see the msg in Message Detail Tool(Detail Display) I am able to see the right payload,but the file is not moving,and in audit log i can see the above mantioned error.
Want to confirm tht the endpoint in the above error should have java port or http port?
Also let me knw,what other things should i check.

Error in Ping Operation : Received HTTP response 407

Hi,
We are configuring Adobe Document Services, but while testing destination service http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp under Server --> Services --> Destination of Visual Admin we are getting
Error in Ping Operation : Received HTTP response 407.
HTTP Error Code 407 is related to proxy configuration, but does any one have any infomation where do we maintain this proxy configuration.

Checked SMICM it is working fine.
I am getting this error on portal so no logs will be generated on ECC.
On portal while testing i am getting following log :

I am doing Proxy to HTTP scenario.
My receiver had given the HTTP URL whcih looks this : http://10.1XX.X.XXX:6666/IntegrationServices/Test
In my receiver HTTP communcation channel , Its asking for the following
Target Host
Service
Path Prefix
Can I fill in target host as : 10.1XX.X.XXX
service number : 6666
path prefix as : IntegrationServices/Test
Can anyone please tell me how to fill the CC parameters.

You can develop a dummy HTTP to File interface,then generate HTTP URL for this by making use of HTTP Test tool(download this from SDN) ,use this URL in your receiver HTTP adapter for File to HTTP scenario.

Received HTTP response code 401

Hi,
I have scenarion JDBC - XI - RFC. Everything seems to be working till yesterday and suddenly i see an error in the communication channel. In the message monitoring the status is set to waiting and I see nothing in the sxmb_moni. Please see the error below

Business systems and check if your XI business system has correct "Pipeline URL" parameter defined:
http://server:httpport/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
also check TCODE -> SLDCHECK - if you don't have any errors over there

Help: Received HTTP response code 404 : Not Found

Transmitting the message to endpoint http://chmsxd42:52200/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 404 : Not Found.
Our senario is a simple file transfer one, no object has been created in IR.
While we run the wizard, we just put the dummy interface name and namespace in the interface and namespace blanks.
After we activate the objects, the source files were picked up and deleted but there is no file created in the target directory, and we got the error message listed at the top.
Does anyone has some clue about this? Please help.

Hi,
The port of Integration Engine is 80XX, and so 8001.
In the SLD you must to select the Business System of XI and there you can just set the corret Pipeline URL.
It means you AE is unable to communicate with IE.
t-code SMICM..check the HTTP port No:
open the SMICM code...just right click anywhere in the window...then click on the Services..it will show u the HTTP and HTTPs port no.
THen from SLD --Business Landscape --your Business System..chek the Pipeline URL http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
the HTTP port that u will see in the SMICM should be same in the pipeline URL

I am getting the below error while doing Scenario JDBC to ABAP Proxy.
Transmitting the message to endpoint http://XXXXXXXX:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 404 : Not Found.
Can any body tell me:
1. Ideally what should be the port if it is an error due to Port?
2. I am not able to see the messages in SXMB_MONI?
3. What is the Flow of my message in the above mentioned Scenario I mean to say from which Engine to which engine?

Do I need to mention Port 8XXX in my Pipeline URL " http://XXXXXXXX:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"?
I have checked in
1. SMICM there is HTTP Service port 8XXX
2. SLD - PI Business System - Pipeline URL is "http://XXXXXXXX:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"
3. In SXMB_ADM - Corresponding Integ. Server = "http://XXXXXXXX:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"
Now tell me is these entries are Ideal??
Also is thr any place where I need to check for Port and URL??

Receive http post, modify and resend

I have problem with servlet.
My servlet must:
1) receive http post data
2) modify one value of parameter
3) and resend http post to other URL (servlet).
How can I do this?
