X60 standby under WinXP not working

I have x60 Thinkpad and its reinstalled new.
I installed also all Thinkpad drivers with UpdateManager.
When I close the lid of the Thinkpad it goes into Standby but when I open the lid and switch it on again just the battery status leds turn on, it seems that the HDD is also runing on but the display stays black. Also the Standby status LED keeps on green so I am not sure what happens . In that case I just can switch off the notebook and boot it new.
Is there a hint about that topic?

I too have been through the ringer on this and have had just about everything you can think of replaced but nothing has worked. I have the X60 with XP Pro and the issue as far as I can tell is in the ThinkVantage management of the wireless devices. I have had the following symptoms due almost entirely to updating the ThinkVantage software:
1. Won't go to sleep/hibernate unless the hardware switch for all radio's is off. Laptop will go to sleep within a couple seconds and resume fine as long as this happens. This is apparently a known issue in Lenovo tech support for laptops that have a Sierra WAN card integrated as well as a LAN card. There is know know fix for this other than shutting the wireless off before sleep or hibernate.
2. Display just goes blank or flickers then goes blank. Only solution here is to shut off radio, go to sleep mode, then when re-emerging from sleep, poof...the display works again. Other option I suppose would be a hard shut down by holding the power key in.
3. Fingerpring reader malfunctioning. Every so often I get a notice when I swipe to log in that says that I don't have any fingerprints enrolled so I need to enter the password. When I do the Ctrl/Alt/Del to get to the password screen and enter it, it won't allow me to log in...only option here is to restart. It actually got so bad that it wouldn't let me back in after I did the most recent Security Solutions update that I had to go to safe mode and do a system restore, but when I did, the files were so corrupted, the computer just said I had to reformat the drive. I had to back up everything (the one thing in the ThinkVantage tool box that seemed to work - oh, except for the fact that it put the 15G of data on a HIDDEN partition on my back up drive!!!!), the reformat the drive and took it back to the factory shipped state.
I actually discovered these issues were related to the ThinkVantage/XP interaction through many, many calls to Lenovo support. The common denominator for ALL of these problems is the ThinkVantage updates and how they are interacting with Windows driver files. I have a couple co-workers who have the same laptops but with Vista and they don't have any of the issues described above. Vista works...Who woulda thunk that??? :smileysurprised
Lenovo is no help, they just want to charge you $99 to tell you they can't fix their problem so don't waste your money. My suggestion is to spend that $99 on an upgrade to Vista as much as I hate to say it...that is what I'm going to do next unless anyone else has figured this out.

let's get a crash log from itunes, and send it to the Apple engineers for a look.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
drwtsn32 -i
And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log"
prior to collecting the itunes crash log, delete any existing crash logs in there. (we want to make sure we send the correct crash log.)
Generate the crash, collect the crash log, and and send it as an attachment to this email address.

Over / Under payment not working

My over and under payment setup stopped working after I installed p42...I then upgraded to p47 and it still is not working, has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have all my set ups done, GL's, doc settings etc....it just will not post my difference and reconcile the document. HELP any ideas

VPN mac to winxp not working

I'm trying to set up a VPN connection from Tiger to VPN running on a winxp pc. There are firewalls at both ends, and I've set up port forwarding on the server end for port 1723.
The client end network has private addresses in the range 192.168.1.nnn, and the server end has 192.168.0.nnn. VPN from a winxp pc works fine. It connects and I can see the shares etc. as if it was all one big LAN, which is as it should be. From the Mac I can make the VPN (PPTP) connection just fine, and the winxp pc shows it as being set up. The Mac VPN is allocated client and server addresses in the 192.168.0.nnn range. But I can't find the server using "Go to server" in the Finder. I've tried every format I can think of, including SMB://192.168.0.2/(share name), where this is the IP address of the pc running the vpn server, SMB://(external IP of server)/(share name) or just SMB://server/(share name), "server" is the NETBIOS name of the server.

When using a VPN connection it is quite normal for a Mac to be connected to a VPN and be able to use local network resources as well (doesn't work this way with Windows XP).
I suspect it is more an issue with the PC than with the Mac.

Physical Standby and flashback not working

Hi,
Has anyone managed to get a physical standby database working with flashback? I'm wondering because when I switch flashback on on the standby database and attempt to start the real-time apply process I get internal errors and the database shuts down. Simply not possible to start the apply process on the database with database flashback on. Maybe there is some kind of parameter I have to adjust but the internal error message is not too helpful. Would be nice to know if someone ever got this working.

If you are really covered, and can stand to be without the iPod for several days, send it in.
As for the issue, it can be either a problem with a stuck button under the Click-wheel, or a bad battery, other issues will also cause this (see below). If you can use the USB cable to power the iPod check to see if all of the functions of the Click-wheel are still working. This will indicate if you have the 'stuck' button issue, or if something else is wrong.
If the iPod hasn't been dropped or had any other jarring event, these problems could also be due to a bad battery connection. (There is a flat copper 'cable' that comes from the battery and runs down the back of the iPods back cover to a socket in the lower left of the front panel. If this connector is loose, or either the cable or connector has been damaged, you can also have this issue.)
Again, the recommended thing to do is have Apple look at it under warranty. Otherwise there are many people who repair iPods. You can search for them on Google, etc.

Oracle bi delivers - Show relevant rows only (under Recipients) not working

My requirement is to send a report to multipel users and each user should get only relevant information mapped to his email id. If I uncheck option "Show relevant rows only", iBot is working and delivering report but our requirement is to send data related to user. For the I checked "Show relevant rows only" but after that iBot is not sending email. I checked the log at "product/OBIEE/OBIHome/server/Log/iBots", but there is no error.
If someone has faced this issue and has solution please let me know.

You need to set "Data Visilibity" as "Personalized" in the General tab. That means that the iBot will run for each user as each user therefore you need to make sure that each user can read the iBot and the requests that it uses.

(K7T Turbo2) Fuzzy Logic 4 in WinXP not working

Tried Fuzzy Logic 3 in Win98 without any problem. But Fuzzy Logic 4 in WinXP can't change FSB. Voltage and speed displayed fine. Anyone have success in WinXP??

Queries running under JBoss Not Working

I'm using Kodo 2.3.2 running under JBoss.
It seems like if I attempt to run the same JDOQL query within a single
transaction under JBoss the second time I run the query I see that Kodo
appears to be querying the entire extent of my class instead of performing
my JDOQL query.
For example,
I have a simple JDOQL function like:

Has anyone else had issues with the serial number listed under MyAdobe not working?

Trying to re-install CS4 to work on something, and when I downloaded the installer and unpacked it, it rejected the serial number listed on my MyAdobe page for the CS4 Master collection. Is there another number somewhere I should be entering or something?

IF you are sure you are downloading the correct suite, you need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Have you tried to restore your iPhone to the factory settings? If the problem still exists after the restore to the factory settings, I think it's a hardware problem. In that case I think you have to go to the Apple Store so they can fix the problem or give you a new iPhone. I think this is in guarantee, so the solution must be free for you.

[XP64] Microphone does not work in WinXP 64

Hi,In Windows XP 64bit my microphone does not work, tried it in Ventrilo 2., Skype and even in the Windows Recorder. The computer don't detect any sound. Offcourse?I have selected the microphone in the recordering section in the Windows volume panel and the volume at maxium. Also in the volume panel under playback the microphone is not mute, set to max volume. I have also installed WinXP 32bits and here it works OK with exactly the same settings. Thats why I think it is because of my Soundcard driver, I have installed the latest driver from this site. I have a SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality. Is there anyone with a X-Fi soundcard with the same problem or anyone where the microphone works in WinXP 64bit's Or is it a known problem?Please help me

Hi Theicewarrior,?Creative support has been aware of this issue for quite some time (6+ months, maybe even a year). The 4GB+?RAM driver/addressing issues are not a priority or they would have been addressed quite some time ago.
Presumably this is due to functional Vista drivers for the masses being a higher priority than the relati'vely few of us with 4GB+ RAM and an X-Fi.
While the X-Fi?is a great card, my only wish was that the vendor was forthright about this product not functioning with certain configurations. It is my feeling that?making an effort to help?customers choose?products that will work with their configurations would result in satisfied and repeat customers?and a better bottom line?as opposed to?eeking a few extra dollars out of a slightly larger customer base and?who are then left unsatisfied with a product and unwilling to buy a company's products in the future.Message Edited by Foddan on 07-9-20070:45 AM

Remote not working with WinXP 64

I have a X-FI Platinum card with the front module and remote. Under WinXP Pro everything worked fine. I have since upgraded to WinXP 64 bit Pro and the remote does not work.
I have installed the latest driver for WinXP 64 (At least last weeks driver) which went OK. Soundcard seems to work OK. I have a 5. speaker setup and I get sound from all speakers. Before there was the createi've audio console that was in the system tray, but that doesn't seem to be there with WinXP 64.
Is there another download that I need to do for the Remote to function ? I am not sure whether the remote software gets installed with the 64 bit drivers or not. I know some people have turned to alternate software to control the remote on WinXP 64 bit edition successfully. I am sure you can find out what I mean by searching these forums, I am not allowed to say any more than that. Hope that helps?

SB0100 Live 5.1 XPSP3 not working, works fine under Linux

I'm at my wit's end.
Sondblaster Li've 5. SB000 installed under WinXp SP3. Device Manager sees it, insists that there are no better drivers than what it already has installed, and that "the device is working properly". Yesterday I could at least select the card under Sound andAudio Devices control panel, now it doesn't show there at all. I have uninstalled/reinstalled, enabled/disabled, Device Manager thinks all is well but nobody else seems to think I have a sound card installed.
Linux likes it (Ubuntu Hardy Heron) no problem.
I just inherited this PC and have no original driver disc but the Auto Update on the Creative site sees it but every time I try to get it to search for and install new drivers (I have tried 50 times at least) I get a message saying "server busy"
The Li've driver packages that I have downloaded and run all seem to work fine but when I restart the same problem-- no sound card apparently present, and when I run the driver package again this itme it says there is no card present..until I repeat the process..over..and over..and over...
I find it hard ot believe that Creative has had problems like this under XP for years with no fix. The steps in the FAQ haven't worked. I'm not the onlyone as evidenced by a Google query.
Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks, Katman, but no cigar.
When I started all this at least I could see "Avance AC97" and "Creative SB series Li've" as selections in the Sound and Audio Devices properties, now it's just the modem #0 Line Playback.
Went into safe mode and uninstalled...then reinstalled...and again...disabled/reenabled built in audio in the BIOS...enabled/disabled in Device Manager... updated the BIOS...updated the Avance drivers...nothing-- and it all works fine in Linux so I'm confident it's a M$ thing.
Any other ideas? I'm grateful for your help, but I am stumped.

It is not possible to monitor/administer a Logical or Physical Standby database, i.e Data Guard, using Enterprise Manager Database Control. This is primarily due to the fact that Database Control is designed to monitor 1 database and a Data Guard environment, by definition, includes more than 1 database.
If you attempt to run emca against a standby Database, you will get an error like (i.e. ORA-01219: database not open).
Database Control, can, of course, be used to monitor the current Primary database (with no ability to administer or monitor Data Guard related functionality). In such a case, when failover occurs Database Control must be reconfigured to run on the new Primary database using the commands detailed in Note 278100.1 How To Drop, Create And Recreate DB Control In A 10g Database, section C. Recreate/ReConfig DB Control, Option 2. Recreate the DB Control Configuration Files and Repository.
Enterprise Manager Grid Control or Cloud Control provides the functionality for viewing, monitoring, and administering primary and standby databases in a Data Guard configuration.

You can use EM 12c cloud control to monitor and manager Standby DB effectively

Right click on XP under BootCamp with new MacBook Pro not working?

Is anyone else seeing this on the new MacBook Pro? (I have the 2.53 model):
I installed WinXP via BootCamp (BC). All went well. I installed the drivers from the Leopard install disk, which seemed to have the latest everything (BC 2.1.1?).
There is a "secondary click" function under the BC control panel in Windows for the trackpad, but it doesn't work at all.
Ctrl-Click also does not work. All other clicking is fine, but it's only left clicks that are allowed.
This reminds me of my original MacBook Pro and Boot Camp beta...

Three fingers and physical click. It's the same in Vista (except Vista's LAN driver works).
Eagerly awaiting the next version of Boot Camp! It's clear it was rushed, from both this and if you insert the CD and autorun (in Vista at least) it pops up with a couple of utilities for a Macbook Air.
