Picture variable to image (IMAQ)

I am trying to convert a "picture" type to "image type" . The "picture" type is from Graphics & Sound toolbox and image type comes from Vision and Motion toolbox.
Writing to a file like jpg and rereading it as an image is not an option.
The picuture is a color XY plot or similar.
As suggested at the forum but not confirmed by anybody I tried to use the trio: Picture it Pixmap, Unflatten Pixmap and IMAQ ArrayToImage. Well, no errors but when I tried to display it, nothing shows up. To be correct it displayed the plot once in black and white and never again. I tried to use all kinds of combination of the ports between Unflatten and IMAQ without any luck.
I use LB 2009 SP1 and I am somewhat familiar with the IMAQ stuff but I am missing something here for sure. Is there a more detailed explanation of the output ports of Unflatten Pixmap and the input ports of IMAQ ArrayToImage?

Update.
It works when I set a maching image type in IMAQ Create. Lets say I use the U16 port on IMAQ ArrayToImage so the type has to be set to U16 in IMAQ Create. I am used to the fact that LB IMAQ functions were switching to a proper type when necessary, apparently not this function.
I am still not able to get the color out to the Image type. It is all B&W and forcing the RGB type in IMAQ Create gives an error.
Below, the are three files: The data to read, a subvi to process the data and the vi to convert the plot to picture' graph idea1.vi

Please do the following to complete this task.
1) Insert the picture library as list view webpart in your page.
2)Specify the column titled Thumbnail Preview in the list view.
3) Edit the webpart and set the Toolbar Type to Summary Toolbar.

So i was merging pictures together in events and all of the sudden I had several come up with no pictures just the image number when I click on the picture which is bland a black exclmation point shows up. Have I lost my pictures for good?

I'm sorry, but your sister, unless she had already turned on the "Find my iPhone" feature and the person who took the phone has not disabled it, is out of luck. She should report the theft to local police authorities, including the serial number of her iPhone. While her experience is unfortunate, there are good reasons why Apple cannot do anything else about it.
I hope she gets her phone back.

Mirroring won't fill the TV screen. The iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3 and the iPhone 4S or prior an aspect ratio of 3:2, neither of these will fit exactly into a TV screen which as an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Apple TV will not zoom the mirrored image, because it may well cut off information which is situated at the top or bottom of the screen.
You may wish to try each of the settings in ‘Settings > Audio & Video > Adjust for AirPlay overscan’ for the best setting that suits you.

Strange behaviour with Vision 8.2 and Shared Variable 1D Image Array

I've just upgraded to LabVIEW 8.2 and Vision 8.2. When loading a particular VI, it is searching numerous times for ...\LabVIEW 8.2\resource\objmgr\IMAQ Image.ctl - which of course doesn't exist. As best as I can track it down, this seems to be cause by a Shared Variable I have in the project which is a custom control of a 1D array of Image.
So I've created a new project from scratch to illustrate (attached). The VI runs OK, but any editing means that this non-existant control is searched for again. Of interest is also that there is a coercion dot where the Image is used, but the data type on the wire seems OK. Creating a control (rather than a Shared Variable) works fine.
Anyone know what's going on here?

system. I received the same results as you
did – I tried to open the project it searched for \LabVIEW 8.2\resource\objmgr\IMAQ Image.ctl. I also used the 1d Image.ctl file as a constant on my block diagram and it did not
show the coercion dot as you mentioned.
There does seem to be some strange behavior going on here
with the coercion dot and the shared variable.
I will have to look further into it and report this to R&D.
But for now, we need to address your application. What is the goal of your application? How does using a shared variable with IMAQ
Images help you get there? You may be
aware of this already, but when an Image wire is passed around LabVIEW, it is
not actually passing a copy of the data in a dataflow manner. The large size of IMAQ Images necessitates
that LabVIEW pass around a pointer to the IMAQ Image. Therefore, when an array of Image controls is
made and used as a shared variable, the controls do not contain the actual
image data. Instead, they contain
pointers to the IMAQ Images. When they
are passed into a shared variable, unexpected results may occur. If the shared variable is network published,
for example, another computer on the network would receive a pointer to an
image that it would not be able to find or access.
There may be a much better way than shared variables to
achieve the same functionality you are currently looking for. If you do in fact require shared variables,
you could use IMAQ ImageToArray.vi
to create an array that can be used in the shared variable like any other data
type, and then use IMAQ ArrayToImage.vi
on the other end to be able to view the array as an image.
Please post back with more information about your
application and we should be able to find the best solution for you.

How do you delete entire folders of pictures in the image editing software instead of one at a time!

Don't know how I did it, but I imported 11,000 pictures into the new image editing software - none of which I took with my new powershot sx50 hs. I can only delete the ONE AT A TIME - HELP!! Anyway to delete entire folders?

About deleting, you can not select multiple pics (by holding control key). You can only delete ONE at a time. I don't have time to delete 11, 137 pictures.
OH MY! Love the camera but paid too much for it not to be able to use the software. Thanks again.

Link Messages 'My Picture' to the image in my Contact Card

I recently installed a new SSD into my MacBook thus I did a fresh install of OS X Mountain Lion (and applied any updates). I opened Messages and sent a message, but noticed that the Avatar used for myself was the same image I selecting when setting MacBook up (Guitar Avatar). If I recall, before doing the fresh install, Messages was using what Picture I had set in my Contacts Card ('me'). Should this be the case by default? I am sure this what I saw before reinstalling ML.
Can one link the Message picture to that of ones own Contact Card?

It is not strange.
It is about which Pic you chose when and in which order.
If you don't change the Addresss Book (Contacts) My Card pic it will default, on a fresh Install, to the Mac User Account one.
Messages will do the same (even if you change the Contacts one) it will default to the Contacts List one if you don't set one in Messages.
You can in fact be using three different Pics.

I am facing a wired issue with Picture Libraries in SharePoint.
We created a custom field and added it to UserInfo list, the column based on custom field lets user upload their personal images to a Picture Library with the name <User ID>.<Image Extension> e.g. 1.jpg where UserID is internal Listitem ID of the UserInfo list and set its URL to the field value which we use to display the image on our custom user profile and some other WebParts.
If the user uploads a different image, it will overwrite the existing one it keeping the same name.
The field worked perfectly with sites using widows Based authentication, but as we move the field to sites with form based authentication we find that the field is able to upload the image properly first time but on each successive upload, although a new image gets uploaded with the name userid.imagextension and is shown in the allitems.aspx page in the thumbnail view and in the picture preview on the dispform.aspx page, but the link next to the name field and the image shown on clicking the preview points to the old image.
To put it other way

Would show the updated image
but the actual URL

what’s even more strange is that even after deleting the image the url still shows the old image at

I confirmed the same by actually repeating the same exercise on a picture Library in the User Interface
Uploading an image say upload.jpeg in the picture library using SharePoint interface.
Then uploading a different jpeg image keeping the same name upload.jpeg again in the picture library.
In allitems.aspx thumbnail view and on dispform.aspx page preview filed image now show the newly uploaded image but when you click the preview image or click the link in the name field value it takes you back to the old image.
I have seen this issue on environment where we have enabled form based authentication and the issue is not seen on another server where we have wss with windows based authentication.
Has anyone noticed such behavior and is there any workaround to that!

I had the same issue.
In my case, Blob Cache was enabled for the web application in which the image issue was occuring.
I cleared blob cache, and after doing a hard refresh of my browser, the correct image was then displayed.
To clear blob cache, do the following:
Navigate to:
http://yourwebapp:port/yoursite/_layouts/objectcachesettings.aspx
Select: "Object Cache Flush" and "Force all servers in the farm to flush their object cache" check boxes
Click the OK button

Background Pictures in Disc Images

I've been trying to create a disc image using Disc Utility that displays a background image when you open it, similar to the kind used by many shareware apps distributed these days (ie. a picture that says "To install, drag this folder to your hard disk").
The problem is that I can't seem to get the background picture to "stick", as it were. I've set up a folder with a bg pic and dragged it onto Disc Utility to create a compressed disc image, but the background disappears when I open the finished product. I've tried altering the disc image once it's finished instead, but as soon as I eject it and re-load the image, it's lost its background picture.
I sort of managed to get this to work by creating an uncompressed read/write disc image with Disc Utility instead and then altering the contents with my background picture, but when I transfer it to another computer my settings have vanished. This isn't really an ideal solution anyway, though, as I would rather used a compressed image for internet distribution.
I've tried doing a search on this forum for similar queries, but most of them seem to concentrate on how to make the background picture a hidden file, which I'm not terribly concerned about. That, and I'm not all that keen on too much fiddling about in the Terminal...
So, can anyone help me here? How do those shareware developers make their custom disc images? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Only some pictures have preview images in 'Years' view

Has anyone else encountered a problem where many pictures have a preview image, but no matter how long you leave Photos running, some pictures' preview image is just a grey square? Is there any way to manually make Photos go through and build preview images for every photo?

Create cache variable for image

hi everyone
i am using swfloader to load an image, and storing its conents in an array so if it is loaded again in future it can be loaded directly from that variable instead of downloading it again.
First time when i load the image , it is loaded properly, and when i load the same image secondtime, it loads it properly from this variable but old image is removed from the page. I am not able to understand what is causing this, here is the code which I used for this.

That is because you are caching _tpLd.content which will be a Bitmap object. So, as soon as you do an addChild again on it, it will be removed from the previous container as it can only have one parent.
The solution is to cache BitmapData instead:
          var bitmapData:BitmapData = (content as Bitmap).bitmapData;
                     _imageDataCache.putImageData(_imageId, bitmapData);
So, you can re-use it by constructing a new Bitmap object from the same BitmapData. The difference in memory usage will be negligible as you are using the same BitmapData again.
Here is an implementation of CachedImage component along with ImageDataCache so that we do not have to write plumbing code everywhere. You can use it or modify your code on the same lines. It is available at:

Is it possible to use variables to switch images in and out when I compile?
I would like to use single source to create 2 guides for 2 audiences. While nearly all of the text content is the same, the screen shots need to vary by audience.
I know I can have popups/dropdowns to accommodate both audiences in one topic...just thinking of a more ideal solution...

You may accomplish this using Conditional Build Tags. You tag the desired images, then exclude tags at compile time using a Build Expression.

Creating PICTURES from STILL IMAGES

I have been playing around and looking for someway to create a still picture from your movie. I have been able to create still images, but is it at all possible to just take a simple picture from one of the frames?
I am interested in using this for posting and emailing them. I also would love to be able to use the Ken Burns effect on a still image in my movie.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

I am quite aware of those two methods. My question is if it possible to to the KB Effect on one of your still images.
Forexample, you are showing a video and all the sudden it pauses and zooms in on the paused frame.
My other question is if it is possible to make a still frame and then just save it as a photo. Lets say I wanted to make a movie poster for my movie. Can I use one of the frames as a simple jpeg?
