Old pictures from cache? mabey?
Hi,
I am developing a webshop. When I add an item to the site it works. After that I add another item right away. I see the same pictures in the itemoverview page.
I use three jsp pages
- placeitem.jsp
- placeitemoverview.jsp
- placeitemsuccess.jsp
The first jsp has all the form fields including some input type="file" fields for uploading pictures.
When the user submits the form to the servlet, the servlet saves the pictures on the computer in a preview directory and forwards to the placeitemoverview.jsp page. Here the user can check if everything he filled in, looks good. After that the user pushes the button to place the item.
The item is saved in the database, the preview folder is emptied and the user is forwarded to the placeitemsuccess.jsp page.
So far so good.
When I add another item to the system with totally different pictures, sometimes I see the pictures from the former item in the placeitemoverview.jsp page. Thats weird because the pictures from the preview directory from the former item are not present in the preview directory. The correct pictures I just selected are.
Has this anything to do with caching on the browser side?

I am trying to get the pictures in my photo gallery on my site i am building to go from thumbnail size to 3 times its size how would i do that.

thanks jimThis is all about causing a page to load quickly by optimizing what you are going to send to the computer that is looking at your website over the Internet (which may be pretty slow). So, essentially, you load thumbnails at small size with the page that has lots of those thumbnails, then you send the large version of the photo—but only as requested.
End result, fast page loads.
With these jQuery presentations, they are really good at optimizing the transfer of data. So the big pictures get cached in advance of them showing them. I've always thought that was pretty cool.
It's like doing a rollover and caching the image that the rollover changes to. -
F keys stop working, can't quit, restart, control-option-escape doesn't wor
Weirdness. I tried to lower the volume on iTunes and the F key didn't work. Then I tried to change the brightness. Nothing. I then tried to restart using the menu choice under the Apple. Nada. Tried to quit using the menu, nothing. Tried control-option-escape. The window wouldn't come up. After doing this some more I'd get at least the square under the Apple to be highlighted after I asked it to either restart or quit but nothing would happen. I could quit apps but not start them. Their icons would bounce on the Dock but they wouldn't start up. Finally I hit the power button and it shut down. After restart, nothing was in the trash.
I had iTunes, Eudora and the latest Camino open when this happened.

All seems well now.
Why did I need to do this? Did the Geek Squad set things up incorrectly or was it my bringing some Library files over from an old backup? I exchanged or added some files in both my User and the root Library folders but only files I had a clue might be useful. Things like files from the Application support folder for apps I knew I wanted to set up with my old settings. I avoided replacing any file/folder that I thought might be better to leave alone. I don't remember all the files/folders I brought over but I could dig up some info if you'd like. I did let some apps be installed from their discs or downloaded new ones.

Lync 2013 Display photos do no display correctly internally
Hey guys, really need some help with this one so I will provide as much detail as possible (sorry for the lengthy post):
We have Lync 2013, Exchange 2010 and AD is at a 2003 functional level.
We are experiencing issues where Lync photos are not updating correctly in the internal clients. I have checked the pre-reqs; Replicate this attribute to the Global Catalog
is set for the ThumbnailPhoto attribute. We are also forcing photos from AD only (or no photo) by setting the following:
"Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity PhotosControl -DisplayPhoto PhotosFromADOnly"
and finally we are setting the photo in ad using this PS command:
"Import-RecipientDataProperty -Identity "Test User" -Picture -FileData ([Byte[]]$(Get-Content -Path "C:\pictures\testuser.jpg" -Encoding Byte -ReadCount 0))"
The pictures being uploaded are under 10KB in size. The initial upload of a photo for a user (IE: a new user that doesn't already have a photo) will generally be displayed in both Outlook and Lync within 24 hours. When we try to update a photo for a user who
already has a photo it updates within Outlook but never updates on Lync clients. I have also manually tried running the "Update-CsAddressBook" command from Lync and waiting 24hours + but the photo will not update in Lync client. Another interesting
thing I've found, anyone who set up their Lync in last month or two do not see their OWN photo within Lync (it just shows the default gray/white man) both in the main window and the chat although others can see it.
I was able to find that on our Lync file store, the cached contacts/photos are being updated daily (as expected) and actually contain the correct photos. I confirmed this be using abserver.exe on the .lsabs file and then locating the contactID for a few users
I know are not updating properly. Once I have their contact ID I simply look for their .photo file in the cached files, copy it out to a different location and change it to a .jpeg. To my surprise the photos are actually the correctly updated ones, so why
are these no getting to the users/clients? I have gone through and deleted my local cache folder as well as the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync but unfortunately no change on my Client.
Another piece of the puzzle; We just implemented a Reverse Proxy to handle mobility with Lync. During my testing I did get Lync client for android running and low and behold the pictures are actually correct on my mobile device!!
We are planning to upgrade Exchange from 2010 to 2013 and I hoping that leveraging the Hi-Def photo capabilities for Lync 2013 with Exchange 2013 may fix this issue but I would rather try to get it resolved then hope for the best.

You could use a "Preload Images" script on a "onPostLoad"
observer for the dsPhotos. However, this script should be triggered
asyncronuosly:
setTimeout( function() {
// preload images
}, 0);
This will start the loading of images in the background,
while the slideshow is still running. It will be better if you
optimize the photos for web and also increase time for the
slideshow.

When running firefox periodically it will use 99% of my cpu for no apparent reason.
As I said when running firefox it periodically uses 99% of my cpu and freezes the computer until it drops down below the 99% usage.
I'm on Windows 7, but a lot of things would apply to any system, it just that the system related stuff you may have to find out for yourself where it is.
Some posted recently and I saw they had Picassa, that's a lovely one it will index every picture on your harddrive even thumbnails and pictures in cache and temporary files. I got rid of that. Now for the things I had to take care of on this system.

Look carefully through the problematic extensions, avoid phone applications such as Skype which share your band width with other in order to function, only keep such applications up when needed. Do not install the Skype extension
Avoid third party toolbars and extensions to tie into other running applications. Don't install timers in Firefox, as standalone application would be better. -

The panic pretty much only happens when they are working in Quark 7, except for Computer 2 where the panic happens in Quark and upon startup. They are all using files off a network, but not necessarily accessing the network when the panic happens.
Of course this leads me to believe that it's a Quark 7 problem. What would be the best method for fixing this issue?

The operator on Computer 1 says her computer already seems happier (gotta love a happy mac!). I understand some of the stuff on the logs, but some of it is a little over my head. How does it look? -
My album always appear the picture of Cache and Thumbnail file, and the little picture from game folder(just as the picture show). I tried to delete those files, but it just appear after a moment or after i restart my phone. My friend told me to download an apps 'QuickPic' and hide all the file, but it still appear on Album. It really annoying because there are alot duplicated photo, song cover art and game stuff. How can I solve this problem? Those files are from - Android/data/...

My husband recently tried to sync my ipod to itunes and in the process he managed to loose all the photos I had stored on the ipod. When I go to my pictures folder on my (Dell) laptop there is now a folder called ipod photo cache. How do I view these files? They are now show as ITHMB files!
Those photos taken or bumped photos should bi in the iPod's Camera Roll album

- Have you looked on the computer? Maybe they were imported to the computer and then deleted from the iPod. Since the photos were not synced to the iPod they are not in the iPod Photo Cache folder . -

You do no specifically. It sounds like you are syncing a folder to the iPod. In that case:
From a Folder on Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
The iPod Photo Cache will be located in the folder you selected to sync with.
Thus, you have to change the location of the folder you sync with. -
Website picture sizes are not being cached when I click on their properties
Since updating to Firefox 18 on my wife's laptop when she clicks on "View image info" the size is shown as "unknown (not cached)". When I try on my desktop the Kb of pictures are showing up as normal. The only difference between the two is the desktop is 32 bit and the laptop is 64 bit.
Is the cache enabled and working on that computer if you check that on the <b>about:cache</b> page?
Also make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

looks like this issue arose with OS X 10.3 and the new Photos appJust two edits
1/ Sync works with the new Photos app.
2/ iTunes does display Apertures folder / project tree in the photos sync section (allowing you to pick what to sync) yet does NOT display the corresponding number of pictures
