Pie Chart Problems

Hello all. I am trying to create a pie chart that displays 3 categories from a task list: Complete, In Progress, and Not Started. Currently my chart looks like a 5 part pie chart, 3 seperate parts for In Progress, 1 part for Complete, and 1 part for Not
Started (I have 5 tasks in this example)
This is close to what I want, but I want all the In Progress to be merged into one category, all the Complete and Not Started to each be their own category (If there were more than one, in this exaple there aren't) So there are only 3 parts, proportional
to what is in my list. Currently my X axis is based on a calculated column from a task list saying what the status is (Complete, In Progress, Not Started)
And my Y Axis is based on one of the only 4 choices I have, ID (choices are ID, Modified by, Created By, and Priority.)
Can anyone tell me how to fix my graph?

if you want to automate the process, you can write a event receiver on the task list which will update the StatusLookup column based on the percentage complete or any other column based on requirement. You can remove/hide the status lookup column. Here is
the link below which explains how to create event receiver on task list

  • ActiveX and pie chart problem

I am trying to create a bar of pie chart in Excel 2003. I am able to insert my data and create the chart, but I need to set the "SplitValue" to 6. I was able to find the property for doing this but I get an error when I run the vi (see attached).  Any thoughts?

I think your problem is that you don't have "Index" wired for the ChartGroups property. Thus, it may be returning a collection of chart groups, but you are typecasting it to a single chart group.

    Sorry guys!. i got it.
Changing the first time call to comparison of For Loop = 0, so always start with the value fixed to draw the square.
    Thanks.

  • Problem with a pie chart

    Hi Gurus
I try to do a pie chart and a i´ve a problem .in the format Categories i use percent 0.00% for to see the value but i can´t see the name of the categories .it´s possible and how ?
    thanks Gurs

    Hi,
you can use $Category to display the category name in your format of a pie label. Combined with a line break your format string would look like <b>$Category$br$Percent0.00 "%"</b>.
Note that you must have IGS 7.00 patch 10 to use this feature. See also SAP notes <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1076634">1076634</a> and <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1064448">1064448</a> for more information.

  • Label and legend problem in grouped month data pie chart for Crystal XI

    Post Author: mikeyplop
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
Hi all, I have a problem with a pie chart I created based upon monthly figures that were grouped.  The data type is DateTime but I have modified the report to show the date as January 2007, February 2007 etc. etc.  This is all fine and appropriate as it is based on a gouping of all the data into months. However, when I chart the same data the labels and legend do not reflect this formatting.  Instead they show up as 01/2007, 02/2007 etc. etc. I have searched the forums, but was unable to find any one else who has had the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Mikey

  • Problem with wedge in Pie chart

    Hi all,
i'm having a Pie chart which has some four or five sections. By using wedge option i'm able to cut out a single piece from the whole chart. But my requirement is i need to show all pieces individually. Is it possible? Please help me in this.
    Kind regards,
    karthick

    Hi Karthick,
it is not impossible, but it is not very easy to accomplish this. First of all, the chart engine (Corda PopChart) is bounded by OBIEE. What I mean is that OBIEE doesn't use the full functionality of the chart engine, so when you want to customize the chart, beyond the functionality OBIEE uses, then there is no other option then to edit the PopChart XML files (.pcxml). In ..\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\popbin\ and ..\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\popbin you can find pie.pcxml which defines the pie chart.
About your problem: you want to explode all wedges in your pie chart. According to the Corda documentation you can only explode one wedge, but it is possible to create a pie chart with gaps between all wedges and you can also set the size of the gap. So by setting these parameters I guess you can get what you want.
Example: You need to add ShowPieGap='True' to this line in the .pcxml.
<Properties Effect='2D' EffectPercentX='10' EffectPercentY='60' OutlineType='Darker' ShowPieGap='True'/>I also recommend you to read John's experiences with editing PCXML of Corda:

  • Problem creating pie-chart

    Post Author: ujain82
    CA Forum: Desktop Intelligence Reporting
Hello,      I am using BO 6.1
I am having trouble creating pie chart. I am calculating different count values from different data providers. Now I need to create a pie chart showing the proportion for each count as I can find the percentage of count.
My scenario(task):I need count on persons depending on searching on complaint text. So for each search I have a data providers. Like this I am searching for 8 criteria. So I have different data providers for each search. I get person counts from each criteria.
Now I want to show it in a pie chart. But I could not make it done.Does anyone faced a similar problem? How do I solve my problem?
    Any comments?

Attached is part of the sub-vi where I am having the problem. I tell Excel which cells to use for the pie chart. If I use "Source 1" (8 cells) the pie chart is created successfully. If I use "Source 2" (14 cells) the pie chart only uses the first cell. I can go to the Excel file and select all 14 cells manually and the pie chart displays correctly. I also tried 9 cells with no luck, it seems that 8 cells are the limit. I am trying to find what is causing the limitation. I have also attached the sub-vi.

  • Problem with Pie Chart Size

I am using the CL_GUI_CHART_ENGINE to show pie charts in a dashboard format. One of my charts has just started to randomly decide to display the pie slices incorrectly.

          <Value type="y">973.08</Value>
        </Point>
      </Series>
    </Chartdata>
The problem is, the last point on the pie chart is showing like it is about 85% of the pie. I admit, this is my first attempt at this, but why would it be OK, then suddenly NOT OK.  Any ideas on what i may have coded incorrectly? what does the type indicator in the Value tag represent? i have looked at the documentation available for the chart engine, and it is pretty weak on specifics.
by the way, the label on the very large part of the pie is $973.08, which is considerably less than the values in the other "slices". The data is correct, as far as having the correct values. it is just suddenly displaying it incorrectly, putting the wrong size slice with the categories.
Edited by: David Knittle on Nov 22, 2010 1:32 PM

could it be because the chart is interpreting the values as text values instead of numbers? and 9 would then be much larger than ther other values? I'd try values without comma....tell it it's a numeric value like 12345.67.

  • Pie chart drill down problem

    Hi,
We are facing an issue with the drill implementation in the Pie chart of the dashboard. Initially, the drill functionality worked fine but now, we observe that the drill happens ONLY on the edges of the pie chart
Now this behaviour is observed when we make following changes in the dashboard:
    1) If we add new filter in the existing qaaws connection for pie chart. (The problem persists even if we remap the qaaws connection)
    2) If we apply some color coding based on certain condition(formula) specified in the excel.
if we revert the above conditions, then the Pie chart works fine
We have tried the following things:
    1) deleting the existing pie chart and remapping the new one.
    2) Tried changing the destination cells for the pie chart.
We are stuck up with this problem without any solution from a long time. We even tried redeveloping the whole dashboard but the problem persists.
    Version :Xcelsius 2008 SP3,fp3.1
    Thanks.

This is actually an issue of the flash player.
Installing Windows Flash Player 10.3 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE) will solve the problem.
Or switch to Flash Player 10.1
Windows Flash Player 10.3 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE) is available here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flashplayer_10_ax_debug.exe
For Netscape-compatible browsers, the version is available here: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flashplayer_10_plugin_debug.exe
No need to remove the existing flash player.

  • Problem with Drill down using Pie chart

    Hi all,
I have a dashboard which displays sales according to product category in which I'm using combo box for category.
Based upon the selection the corresponding products are displayed in the Pie chart and when I click a particular
product its total sales value should be displayed in a Guage.
The problem is if for one category there are 10 products the pie chart is showing only 5 labels if drill down option is checked
and if its not then its showing all the products......
    What could it be ??
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John
