Ping.vi
When I use the Ping.vi I get :
Error 7 occurred at Open File+.vipen File
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS, and / on UNIX.
NI-488: Non-existent board.
It doesn't look like its creating the txt file.
What is the purpose of the
pingtemp.txt ??
Why do the error out clusters of the delete.vi ( lower left of ping.vi) go to a flatten sequence but really not connect to anything?
On the frt panel is:
Must run on Windows machine that has ping.exe executable.
What does this mean ?
Hi Clint Eastwood,
can you upload your ping.vi? I can´t find it. To make a ping from LabView you can also use the "System Exec.vi".
You need the ping.exe on your system means, that the ping.exe has to be available on your pc, for instance in Windows\System32 folder.

ASA 5505 VPN clients can't ping router or other clients on network
I have a ASA5505 and it has a vpn set up. The VPN user connects using the Cisco VPN client. They can connect fine (the get an ip address from the ASA), but they can't ping the asa or any clients on the network. Here is the running config:

Any ideas what I need to add to get the vpn client to be able to ping the router and clients?
Thanks.I tried that and it didn't work. As for upgrading the ASA version, I'd like to but this is an old router and I don't have a support contract with Cisco anymore, so I can't access the latest firmware.
here is the runnign config again:

Why cant i ping any host/servers behing my Firewall Cisco 5505
Can anyone please help me to figure out what in my configuration of the Cisco asa 5505 is wrong or missing. I have multiple host behind my firewall these hosts run different websites on port 80. I am able to ping the server from one to another but I am not able to ping the servers from the internet. I am using static NAT. Is there a translation issue going on here. Please help me!

CISCOASACLOUD#Hi Ron,
I have found the solution!
Indeed I had to extend my access-list on my outside interface!!!
I have succeeded using ASDM.
First I created a NEW network object for each of my servers. When you create a new object you will be asked for the internal IP address and "this is where the magic happens" you have to set the NAT IP address (the external address) !!!
Secondly I extended my access-list on my outside interface by defining every server and the required service (echo, echo-reply) in the "Public server list". When I performed these 2 steps I was able to ping the server from the internet.
My access-list looks the following now:
access-list OutsideToInside extended permit icmp any4 object SERVER2003 object-group DM_INLINE_ICMP_2
access-list OutsideToInside extended permit icmp any4 object SERVER2002 object-group DM_INLINE_ICMP_1
access-list OutsideToInside extended permit icmp any4 object SERVER2004 object-group DM_INLINE_ICMP_0
object network SERVER2004
nat (inside,outside) static 82.94.xxx.xxx
object network SERVER2002
nat (inside,outside) static 82.94.xxx.xxx
object network SERVER2003
nat (inside,outside) static 82.94.xxx.xxx -
OK so this is weird one: I have a Window 7 box that when I went to use it, I discovered that it no longer had access to the internet, but it did see the other PCs on the network. After trying completely different network ports then removing/reading the NIC
and using system restore, I decided to reimage it from scratch and deleted the PC's name from the domain. Here's where it gets strange: Even after a completely wiped and reloaded PC from a known good template, it DOES get an IP address from DHCP/DC/DNS server
(same machine) it can view the other workstations on the domain, but it cannot even get a ping reply back from either of our 2 domain controllers, much less join the domain and it still does not see the internet. This one really has me kerfuffled! It is the
only PC with this problem and I've already scorched the HD.Hi,
According to your description, the Windows 7 PC has joined the domain before going wrong. And after a series of operations the Windows 7 still can’t access Internet and it can’t ping DC by IP address.
Have you checked the Windows Firewall to see if the firewall blocked the ICMP packet?
Due to the Windows PC can get an IP address from DHCP server as mentioned above, so what IP address the Windows 7 PC get? And what is the IP address of the Windows 7’s DNS server? We can use
ipconfig /all command to print out the TCP/IP configuration. Because we can’t ping DC by IP address, maybe the Windows 7 PC can’t connect to DHCP server. If a DHCP client can’t connect the DHCP server, it can assign a private IP address of
169.254.0.0/16 network to itself. Then the DHCP client will attempt to find an available DHCP server every five minutes. Obviously, computer with a private IP address can’t access Internet.
Best Regards,
Tina -
Can't ping in or out across the router
Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. It's a domain controller, file server, and DNS server. It will also soon be a VPN server. It sits on a private network with two other private subnets accessible through site-site vpns via Cisco routers. This server sits on
the main office subnet.
I am unable to ping in or out to/from other subnets. But, I can ping other devices on the main subnet from other subnets. I just can't ping the server and from the server, I can't ping anything on the other two subnets.
I thought it might be a firewall issue on the server but the rules for ICMP are enabled and configured to allow pings in and out to and from anywhere. I even turned the firewall off (didn't stop the service) as a test and still couldn't ping interfaces on
the other subnets.
I'm stumped. Is there something else that might be preventing pings to all but the local subnet? Yes, I can ping the server from the local subnet and from the server, I can ping anything on the local subnet.
KenI have verified the TCP/IP settings on this server. The IP address, mask, and default gateway are all correct for this subnet.
I'm testing from a Cisco switch located inside the remote subnet. There isn't an error message, the ping command just reports the following:
Hobbs2960#ping 192.168.1.9
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 192.168.1.9, timeout is 2 seconds:
Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)
Hobbs2960#
A traceroute from that same switch hits the GW on that router ok but times out after that.
Ping and traceroute from that same switch are successful if I ping a different server on the same subnet as the server in question.
Pinging from the server in question gives "Timed out" responses. Tracert from the same server hits the GW, then the outside interface of our local router, then times out.
Again, ping and traceroute from a different server (running AIX) to the same remote switch worked fine.
Thanks! -
Unable to ping from mz to virtual interface of asa
Dear All,
one of my SNMP server 10.242.103.42 sits in MZ zone, and ACE 4710 is connected to core switch, coreswitch is connected to firewall asa.
Now iam trying to ping from MZ zone SNMP server to loadbalancer ip 10.242.105.1,iam unable to ping my LB interface to discover SLB on my SNMP server.
plese help me
srinivasIs your device seeing the mac-address of the ASA in order to send the packets? What do the logs show on the firewall itself? Can you see the ARP entry on the ASA firewall for that host?

AnyConnect to ASA 5505 ver 8.4 unable to ping/access Inside network
My AnyConnect VPN connect to the ASA, however I cannot access my inside network hosts (tried Split Tunnel and it didn't work either). I plan to use a Split Tunnel configuration but I thought I would get this working before I implemented that configuration. My inside hosts are on a 10.0.1.0/24 network and 10.1.0.0/16 networks. My AnyConnect hosts are using 192.168.60.0/24 addresses.
I have seen other people that appeared to have similar posts but none of those solutions have worked for me. I have also tried several NAT and ACL configurations to allow traffic form my Inside network to the ANYConnect hosts and back, but apparently I did it incorrectly. I undestand that this ver 8.4 is supposed to be easier to perform NAT and such, but I now in the router IOS it was much simpler.
My configuration is included below.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

: endHi,
Yes, I have saved the config and did a write erase and reloaded the config, no difference. I rebuilt it once a couple of weeks ago, but that was before I had gotten this far with your assistance. I'll include my ASA and switches configs after this. Here is a little background (took it form the Firewall section issue just because it gives a little insight for the network). I have 2 3560s, one as a L3 switch the other L2 with an etherchannel between them (one of the cables was bad so I am waiting on the replacement to have 2 - Gigabit channels between the switches).
I think our issue with the VPN not getting to the Inside is posibly related to my DMZ issue not getting to the internet.
I am using 2 VLANs on my switch for Guests - one is wired and the other is wireless. I am trying to keep them separate because the wireless are any guest that might be at our restaurant that is getting on WiFi. The wired is for our Private Dining Rooms that vendors may need access and I don't want the wireless being able to see the wired network in that situation.
I have ports on my 3560s that are assigned to VLAN 20 (Guest Wired) and VLAN 22 (Guest Wireless). I am not routing those addresses within the 3560s (one 3560 is setup as a L3 switch). Those VLANs are being L2 switched to the ASA via the trunk to save ports (I tried separating them and used 2 ports on the ASA and it still didn't work). The ASA is providing DCHP for those VLANs and the routing for the DMZ VLANs. I can ping each of the gateways (which are the VLANs on the ASA from devices on the 3560s - 172.26.20.1 and 172.26.22.1. I have those in my DMZ off the ASA so it can control and route the data.
The 3560 is routing for my Corp VLANs. So far I have tested the Wired VLAN 10 (10.1.10.0/24) and it is working and gets to the Internet. I have a default route (0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0) from the L3 switch to e0/1 on the ASA and e0/1 is an Inside interface.
E0/0 on the ASA is my Outside interface and gets it IP from the upstream router (will be an AT&T router/modem when I move it to the building).
So for a simple diagram:
PC (172.26.20.21/24) -----3560 (L2) ------Trunk----(VLAN 20 - DMZ/ VLAN 22 - DMZ2)---- ASA -----Outside ------- Internet (via router/modem)
I will be back at this tomorrow morning - I've been up since 4pm yesterday and it is almost 3pm.
Thank you for all of your assistance.
Jerry

I have a C2911 for CME on G0/1 - using it only for that purpose at this time.
L2 3560 Config it connects to the ASA as a trunk on e0/5 of the ASA and port f0/3 of the switch - I am using L2 switching for the DMZ networks from the switches to the ASA and allowing the ASA to provide the DHCP and routing out of the network. DMZ networks: 172.26.20.0/24 and 172.26.22.0/24.

ASA5520 AnyConnect SSL VPN Connected but unable to ping my inside LAN
Hi there, please forgive if I have missed any forum protocols as this is my first post.
I am trying to configure Anyconnect SSL VPN. I am able to connect to the VPN on a laptop, witch is able to download the anyconnect client from the ASA. I am unable to ping any of my IP's that are on the inside of my ASA. Before posting here I have spent many hours on forums and watching videos on anyconnect SSL VPN creation and I am following it to the T but still no ping. Any help would be very much appreciated.

HELP - DB2 v9 & App Server PE 9.0 - PING Connection Pool Failure - HELP
I've been playing around with Studio Creator and DB2 v9 without any issues.
So I figured I would installed App Server PE 9 and use this as my production server that I would deploy to from studio creator.
However, in my efforts to set up db2/v9 I have been trying to ping a connection pool without any luck. I get the following message:
Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: [sunm][DB2 JDBC Driver]Resource Limits Reached( ALLOCATE MEMORY FOR NEW SQLSTT FAILED ). Diagnostic Info: FUNCTION ID = 0049 , PROBE POINT = 0400 , TRACE POINT = 0030 , SUBCODE1 = 8B0F0000, SUBCODE2 = 78A68A98, SUBCODE3 = 00000000, ERROR MSG = Parser: Memory allocation error.
My datasource class name is com.sun.sql.jdbcx.db2.DB2DataSource.
And my resource type is javax.sql.datasource
I have copied smbase.jar, smdb2.jar and smutil.jar into c:\sun\appserver\lib
and I have all of the properties (serverName, portNumber, databaseName, user, password) created and set accordingly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is how I got the DB2 Express-C and Sun PE 9.0 to work. ( at least base connectivity wise )
1. ) You have to have at least the DB2 Client installed on the system that will be communicating to the DB2 instance.
2.) The following jars will be needed ( depending on the driver type used) . db2java.zip, db2jcc.jar, and db2jcc_license_cu.jar and use them in the App Server ->JVM settings -> Path Settings -> Classpath Suffix
3.) The next setup is dependent on the Type driver you use
I used the Type 4 and this is the resource setup I used.
Connection Pool:
Name: DB2TestPool
Datasource Classname: com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2SimpleDataSource
Resource Type: javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource
Properties:
user: xxxxxx
password: xxxxxx
databaseName: TEST
serverName: <hostname of machine>
portnumber: 50000
driverType: 4
URL: jdbc:db2://<hostname>:<port>/<database>
JDBC Resource:
JNDI Name: jdbc/TEST
Pool Name: DB2TestPool
With this configuration I was able to ping the database as well as connect to create an entity bean from a table. This should give you a starting point.
I have yet to deploy my application, but should be doing that sometime today to verify that a connection can be made and used from within the application. -
How to enable ping service on java-stack only system
I have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java Trial on local host.
How can you activate the ping service there?
It should work under "http://localhost:50000/sap/bc/ping"
(I know how to activate it with transaction SICF in an abap system, but I have java-stack only here, so I can't call transactions. I can only use the Visual Admin, right?, but there I could not detect a ping service so far)
More detailed:
I created system "SAP_WebDynpro_XSS". (this is necessary for connecting to ECC abap backend for ESS Packages) and set following parameter:
template:"SAP system using connection string"
category: Web Application Server
Web AS host name: chrisSAP:50000
Web AS path: /webdynpro/dispatcher/
Web AS protocol: http
But when I test the "SAP Web AS Connection" for this system, I got following error:
7. The Web AS ping service http://chrisSAP:50000/sap/bc/ping was not pinged successfully. If the ping service is not activated on the Web AS, you can try to call the ping service manually.
8. An HTTP/S connection to http://chrisSAP:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/ was not
obtained successfully; this might be due to a closed port on the Firewall.
I guess step 8 did not pass because step 7 failed, and not because of a closed port or firewall (I made sure everything is open.)
The strange thing is that the connection test fails, but the connection seems to work fine!
I mean I can see the front ESS page in the portal when logging in with an ESS-user, and there are no errors in the log. If I change the SAP_WebDynpro_XSS parameters to some other made-up values, then the front ESS page does not come up and some errors appear with "SAP_WebDynpro_XSS" inside.
That proofs that the connection is working despite the failed connection test, right?. But what can I do that the connection test passes? It seems that somehow SAP has hardcoded the path "/sap/bc/ping" which usually exists on an abap system. But I have java-stack only, so how can I tell that the function that runs the test?
A system connection test fails, but the connection is working fine!
If someone could explain that to me...Dear Srini Nookala,
thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I don't understand the relation of my question to your answer.
>> check with OSS note 1019335 SAP NetWeaver AS Java 6.40 SP21
I have Version 7.0 SP14. I read the OSS note, but there are around 100 changes listed. I read them all, but couldn't figure out one that has to do with ping and system test. So which sentence inside the note are you referring to?
>> The problem is due to JCo parameters configuration not properly, Ask Basis team, they will do it.
I am basis team. I configured the JCo properly as described in manual and tested them afterwards. They run successful. Also all the links that you gave refer to JCO connections about how to set them up and test them. But what have JCO connections to do with System-connection tests? As far as I know JCO-connections are not used for system connectivity tests. You can set them up independent. I understand that JCO-connections are used for getting data from backend servers. But the system "SAP_WebDynpro_XSS" is defined for determing the webdynpros on localhost (frontend, not backend).
So please can you explain me what JCO-connections which refer to remote hosts have to do with a ping service on local host that cannot be reached? And which part would be not configured "properly"? Timeouts? user?
To define my question more properly:
Is it possible to make the connection test work on a java-stack only host for a system that refers to itself (localhost)? Or is it a known bug?
Some sub-questions
Am I using the right system template (I am using "SAP system using dedicated application server")
I have no abap on local host (chrisSAP). Only java stack. Usually path ..sap/bc/ping refers to an abap system, right? So in my opinion I have 3 possibilities:
- install abap-stack on local host (portal) and activate ping service.
- somehow install a ping service that runs under the given URL in Visual Admin (how?)
- somehow tell the connection test to skip pinging and continue test. (How?)
Any additional advice would be highly appreciated. -
I purchased 100 Pinger EX minutes on my daughters ipod, the minutes never showed up and it says "You've already purchased this In-App Purchase but it hasn't been downloaded". How do I download it????

VPN client connect to CISCO 887 VPN Server but I can't ping Local LAN
Hi
my scenario is as follows
SERVER1 on lan (192.168.1.4)
|
|
CISCO-887 (192.168.1.254)
|
|
INTERNET
|
|
VPN Cisco client on windows 7 machine
My connection have public ip address assegned by ISP, after ppp login.
I've just configured (with Cisco Configuration Professional) the ADSL connection and VPN Server (Easy VPN).
All the PC on LAN surf internet and remote PC connect to VPN Cisco server via cisco VPN client.
But all remote PC after connection to Cisco VPN server don't ping SERVER1 in lan and therefore don't see SERVER1 and every other resource in LAN. I can't even ping the gateway 192.168.1.254
I'm using Cisco VPN client (V5.0.07) with "IPSec over UDP NAT/PAT".
What is wrong in my attached configuration? (I've alspo tried to bind Virtual-Template1 both to unnambered Dialer0 and to Loopback0 but without luck)
Perhaps ACL problem?

How do I run a traceroute, ping with my Mac/Safari?
I tried Search first, but I'm not very good at finding what I need, and I couldn't find the answer this time either. Sorry if it's already been posted. I would like to know how to run a traceroute with my PBG4. Is running a traceroute the same as doing a ping? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please keep the explanation as simple as possible, lol.
A traceroute sends messages to every server between you and an address you specify, and is useful in determining exactly where problems with the connection exist. If you see an address for which the three numbers become large, that is likely where the problem lies. An entry consisting of only stars means that the command timed out waiting for a response; some servers do not reply to traceroute probes. Click here for more information.

Query regarding the ActiveSync and parameter time-taken from ActiveSync IIS logs.
Here what I see for from the logs.

In the above log, highlighted are the time-taken and I just want to check what is the ideal time-taken value, some value above should be causing some problem, like the one of the top 1501129 ?
?AND I see its for POST event and CMD=Ping&log query.......
We have Mobile Iron in the environment and we are seeing few timeout errors on MobileIron server and for users intermittently. They usually see below error... However we don't see any end users issues, but just want to get rid of below error. MobileIron guys
are pointing it to time-taken value which is high intermittently.
IOException connection to server [email protected] -- java.io.IOException:

@BALAHi,
To understand more about the issue, I’d like to confirm the following information:
1. What’s your Exchange 2010 version?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2536517/en-us
2. Do you install other software, like SQL, on the same Exchange Server?
3. Change another admin account to access EMS.
Thanks,
Angela Shi

What's happening with my 2ndGen AEX at night? Pings sometimes go over 1000ms!
What's happening with my 2ndGen AEX at night? Pings sometimes go over 1000ms!
My Airport Extreme is perfect all day but sometimes late at night my ping goes over 1000ms. Wired or Wifi is the same. There's no rhyme or reason as to when it happens either. Random times and random nights (sometimes several nights in a row, other times not for week or more). Resetting doesn't help, but If I go direct to the modem, pings are around 15-30ms... normal for me. It's been a problem for me for a while now, and I'm not sure if its the latest firmware update that did it. I first noticed it playing my Xbox 360 sometime last summer or fall. The ping times will suddenly (usually around midnight or 1am) be so high that I can't play any multiplayer games. I go to speedtest.net and my ping is anywhere from 500ms to 1118ms is the highest I've seen. If I reset the router, it is fine for a couple minutes and then right back to to the high pings. As I said, the modem is fine when I go direct, so something is causing the Airport Extreme to have trouble. It's not the XB360, cause it also happens with my XB1 and only at night. I play during the day, as well, and have no troubles.
I believe that there are certain programs that can cause this, like Vuze, but this only ever happens when everyone in the house is in bed, and both mine and my wife's laptops will be asleep. I do have a Mac Mini connected to another TV in the house, but the only thing it should be doing at that hour is its hourly Time Machine backup to a USB drive plugged directly into it. I do have a network drive attached to the AEX, but I only use that for manual backups for our laptops, neither of which is being done when this occurs. My wife and I also each have an iPad (the 2 and an Air) and an iPhone 5. Could they somehow be causing this? Maybe an automated iCloud backup occuring at night? Although, I use several devices on my network all day long without this kind of thing happening so I don't know why that would cause this kind of problem. Just to round out my collection, I have to older Airport Expresses as well to extend the network and are mostly used for the audio out.Test after each of the following steps that you haven’t already tried:
Step 1
Take all the steps suggested in this support article. That's the starting point for any further effort to solve the problem. Skipping any of those steps may mean that the problem won't be solved.
Step 2
From the menu bar, select
System Preferences ▹ Accessibility ▹ Speakable Items: Off
Step 3
Reset the SMC.
Step 4
Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal. Don’t launch any applications at first. If sleep still doesn’t work properly, back up all data and reinstall the OS. After that, if you still have the issue, make a “Genius” appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
If sleep now works as expected, go on to the next step.
Step 5
Still in safe mode, launch the usual set of applications that are running when you have the problem, including your login items, one at a time, testing after each one. Some applications may not work; skip them. You might be able to identify the cause of the problem this way.
Step 6
If sleep is still working after you’ve launched all the usual applications, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and test again. If sleep still works, you’re done, at least for the moment.
If you still have the sleep issue after booting out of safe mode, post again. -
When using my ipad air it keeps coming off the page I'm on or app I am using and going back to the home screen. Also when using my ipad the screen will go white with a black apple icon in the middle for about 20 seconds then it makes a ping sound and goes to the home screen. Could anyone help please. Thank you :-)
