Pivot Table - Hide Repeated Values

Page 131 of the Answers user guide refers to a 'Hide Repeated Values' setting for pivot tables. I don't see this anywhere. Please help!

Hi,
you can find 'Hide Repeated Values' in option menu of a column dragged and dropped in Section.

My web report hides repeated values regardless of the query setting.
Is there any way to set a specific column to not hide repeated values?  Using the table API?

    dear Kenneth,
have you try to remove the check mark of properties 'suppress repeated text' in 'specific' section of your web item 'table' in web template ?
or you can give parameter SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS for web item 'table' with value blank
    <param name='SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS' value=' '>

In the 'Hide Repeated Values' under the 'display' tab in query properties, I want this to be permanently switched off. Is there a default setting I can change.

  • Cell color in pivot table depending on value from VO

    Hello.
We have a pivot table with two columns as data values.
We want those cells to change color. The condition for changing color is in an attribute that is not used in pivot table. It's only in VO (query).
Can this be done? We can change color when there is only one data value column and condition is data value column.
    Any idea?
I hope you understand the problem.
    Thanks.

    Hola,
Actually, the solution I found is to get the rowkey using the DataCellContext
    List keyList = (List)dataCellContext.getValue(DataMap.DATA_ROWKEY);
    if (keyList != null) {
         rowKey = (Key)keyList.get(0);
}and just get the row from the Iterator using this rowKey.
    DCIteratorBinding iter = ADFUtils.findIterator(ITERATOR);
    RowSetIterator rsi = iter.getRowSetIterator();
Row row = rsi.getRow(rowKey); Then we can select any attribut from the row and have fun
if it can be helpfull for someone

  • Report to table storage(repeated value)

a value calculated by formula column in report with a greatr than 1 frequency want to store in a table in each record having same frequency

    Hi Monica,
This would be a tough job if you know the structure of the historical record tables.  You need to familiar with all those A tables first.  Any changes to one of the record would create a instance of the record before change.  AITM is for OITM, AIT1 is for ITM1 etc.  Which tables are you looking for?
    Thanks,

  • Hide Repeating values

    Hi all,
In my scenario, I have Cost Center and Cost Elements in Rows and Time in column.
When I display my schedule, it displays the Cost Center name in all the rows which has Cost Elements in it. How can I hide those?
    For ex:
    CC1   CE1    ....         .....       .....
    CC1   CE2    ....         .....       .....
    CC1   CE3   ....         ....         ....
I want the display to be:
    CC1   CE1    ....         .....       .....
             CE2    ....         .....       .....
             CE3   ....         ....         ....
It is available in the standard templates delivered.
How can I achieve this in custom EVDRE() schedule/report?
    Thanks.
    Anand

I don't mean to be rude; here is a simpler answer than the above. (You should also note the  excel function"Index" is a performance hog.)
First, the column you don't want to display; does it contain a formula like "evdesc"? - If this is the case you can just delete the formula or column from the report.
If this column is part of the expansion, you can either "hide" or group the column you don't want to see.
The common approach is to group the columns/rows you do not want visible.
Please let me know if this helps.

  • Hide rows in Pivot table Calculated Items in OBIEE 11g

    Hi All,
I have requirement to show values in Pivot table such that values are divided into two sub totals and also shown in Grand Total.
For Sub Total 1, all the rows can be shown with Sub total value. But for Sub Total 2, only Total value is to be shown but not all the rows. How this requirement can be done?
I tried to hide the rows in Sub total 2, but its effecting entire table so those rows are removing from Sub total 1 aswell which should not happen.
Have look in below table for more clarity. My output should be as shown in Table 2 not as in Table 1.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
Here Subtotal will sums up the rows basing on other column (Dimension).
SubTotal 1 sums the rows basing on the another dimension( value A and value B). SubTotal 2 sums the rows basing on aother values(values C and values C.
I understand the above solution, but that is not enough to my requirement as I need to show Regions for Subtotal 1, but not for Subtotal 2. And these Subtotals are based on another column (other than Regions).
    Hope this is clear now.

  • Hiding columns in pivot table OBIEE 11g

    Hi experts,
I am trying to create a pivot table with individual values in columns but I also need to display a grand total as values but also as percentage and as cumulative percentage.
I duplicated the measure once in the measure area, and selected display data as percentage of column, and another time using display cumulative and percentage of column.
The result is fine, but all the elements are displayed as column for the percentage and for the cumulative. Or, I only need the Grand Total Percentage and Cumulative, but I don't need all the columns for Percentage and cumulative.
I have tried to find out a way to customize the XML but nothing good.
Is there a way to display only the grand total for percentage and cumulative without having to display all the individual columns?
    Any help highly appreciated.
    Regards

If I get your question correctly.. You are trying to present the grand total towards the end of the Pivot and OBIEE is displaying the totals of all the sections and then the Grand Total.
Try not to use the grand total of the sections but create a new pivot view and just display the grand total in that view.
So you will have your normal sections and then another pivot view just for the grand total.
As far as I know, there is no option to hide the individual section totals.

  • Removing (blank) from Pivot Tables Populated from Data Connection

It took me a long while to fix this one (and a long time to search, because it's a funny one to try to use boolean logic for) and I thought I would share because I've seen a score of folks out there looking for this.
If you have a pivot table with blank values in the row/column area instead of values, Excel automatically populates the cell with (blank).  The word blank shows up in any cell that doesn't have a value, but what if you don't want all those ugly (blank)
values showing up in your report?
If you're pulling the data from an outside source, like a SQL server (in my case from the Project Server Reporting database) then you can't just change the source data, so you seem pretty stuck.
My coworker and I came up with the following fix:
Select the entire sheet.  Use conditional formatting to find all cells that contain the text (blank).  Then for the format, go to "Number" and "Custom".  In the custom field, enter ;;;.  Apply the conditional formatting and those pesky
(blank) values turn into real blanks.  This even works when copying pasting the data into another sheet or application.  And if the value changes the next time you refresh your data, the new data appears.
I found this very valuable in my reporting and just wanted to put it out there for the rest of the community.

    Hi,
Thank you for sharing your experience and post here.

  • Trying to get Pivot table drop down list to affect bar chart below it

    Hi,
In BI Answers I have a pivot table and a bar chart below it. At run time, I can choose a value from the
drop down list for the pivot table, but the bar chart below it doesn't react to the new value chosen
    from the pivot table.
Does anyone know a way to get the bar chart to receive new values, permeating down from a table view
pivot table above it on the same report (apart from using prompted filters for the whole report).
    Many thanks,
    Jake

you may want to try this...
in you bar chart criteria, set prompted filters of all the dimension fields u want from the pivot table.
in the pivot table, set action links on these dimension columns and loop it back to the current dashboard page.
now, when u click on a value on the pivot table, the dim values of this will be passed as a parameter to the the bar chart filter set and your bar chart will change accordingly...

  • Not Hiding Repeated values.

When creating a query in the properties, I un-checked "Hide repeated value" and When I display the query in Bex, Its coming properly. Same values are repeated for each row(Which is what I want)...
But the user want to create the query in Bex and display it in WEB. In this case even if we un-check the HIDE button, Its hiding in web...
    Anybody has any clue ???

Yes, I understand. When you execute the query in web the system takes the default web template which is set in SPRO. The SAP delivered default template name is 0QUERY_TEMPLATE with BW 3.0B.
You will have to check in your system which is the default template being used and make changes to enable this option, please note that any changes you make in that template will be affecting all the queries you execute in web. Another option is to add a context meny entry to toggle between Suppress text and Hide. You can also add the parameter SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS='' to the URL.
    Thanks.

  • Pivot table charts Y axis scale

    Hi,
My Pivot Table creates 6 charts as my Dimension in Section for Pivot Table has 6 values. But each chart depending on the values for Y axis has a different scale, for example my first chart has $0.000, $4.000, $8.000, $12.000, $16.000, $20.000 my second chart has $0.000, $15.000, $30.000, $45.000, $60.000, and my 3rd chart has a whole set of different numbers, is it possible for me to make all the charts have the same values in my Y axis, even if my graph is going to look odd(thats what the client wants)?
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    Hi
We can give the minimum axis value and max value for axis.Give this min and max for all the charts and try.In pivot view top left corner-->Axis scaling-->mark specify manually and mark max and min and give values.Hope it will helps u.

  • Conditional formatting on total cells in pivot table

Hi, i have a pivot table with some values and percentages.
The percentages are in red if less then 0.
I have 1 row and 1 column of total values, but this cell aren't red if percentage is less then 0.
Does anybody know a solution for my problem?
    Thanks

This is the example i create:
    DIM A:
    - Total A
    - Value A
    DIM B:
    - Total B
    - Value B
    FACT:
    - Value A (DIM A)
    - Value B (DIM B)
    - Actual
    - LY
    - Delta % (Calculated: 100*(Actual - LY)/LY)
Then i create the pivot table with B on rows (Σ on Total B), A on cols (Σ on Total A) and measures Actual, LY and Delta %. The last one has a conditional format on Delta % < 0.

  • How to make a layer from the ADF pivot table invisible , show-hide column-row-data

    Hello all ,
I need to create a pivottable with ADF 12c for reporting purposes.
I have a table or view with 10 items of type VARCHAR2 , C1,C2,C3,C4,C5,C6,C7,C8,C9,C10  and   10 items of type NUMBER N1,N2,N3,N4,N5,N6,N7,N8,N9,N10
The items of type VARCHAR2 are for Column and Row areas and the items NUMBER are for Data Areas

Can you help me if is possible to create a pivottable binding to a one ViewObject and in code show/hide or compose the layout of the pivottable ??
I search in google and OTN oracle and not find any code.
Only find the code of the samples that is very complex for me , the code of the samples create the PivotTableModel from one Array , and i want to binding from one ADB BC ViewObject.
    Thanks in advance

The solution I presented for your use case an DOAG 2013 was to create a pivot table binding out of user defined attributes from the table. For the defined attributes a VO is dynamically created as well as the pivot binding. The pivot binding is then exchanged at runtime together with the activation of the dynamic VO needed to only get the data needed for the particularly pivot table.
Your solution using the CubicEditor is hard to implement due to the missing documentation. This was the reason I did not follow this approach, However it's not impossible (done it on a very small scale).
None of the solution are what I call simple. They are complicated, complex and in part not supported solution (exchanging the pivot table binding at runtime need to use internal classes, which is not supported).
I can't give you a working sample as it's too complex. I can make the slides available, however they are in German.

  • How to Sort Dimension in Pivot Table via Order Column which is changing like Factual values

    Hi,
Recently in of our product offerings we got stuck on this following question:
How to Sort Dimension based on the Order Value which Keeps Changing with Factual Values??
We have a data source laid out as (example)
In the above the “Order” columns are changing per
    Company/(DimensionA) for DimesnsionB.
Instead what we want is: (But only if we can get the following result without putting the “Order” Column in the “Values” Section.
If there are any configurations that we can make to our power pivot model for the similar data set so that the
DimesnionB in this case can be sorted by the Order column, would be greatly helpful to us.
    Sample File:
    http://tms.managility.com.au/query_example.xlsx
    Thanks
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
According to your description, you need to sort dimension members in Pivot Table via order column, and you don't want the order column show on the Pivot table, right?
Based on my research, we can sort the data on the Pivot table based on one of the columns in that table, and we cannot sort the data based on the columns that not existed on the Pivot table. So in your scenario, to achieve your requirement, you can
add the column to pivot table and hide it.
