Pivote table in measure column at dashboard
2)in dashboard pivot measures value click, measure value has contain example amount, that amount has (no.of names total amount ) ,that amount clicks related names displayed is possible thing?

Edited by: Ashok on Sep 24, 2010 5:35 AMBased on what I see of your example, each row of your pivot table represents the grouping for the totals at the bottom. You are asking for value interaction on the grand total amount, but that's not possible as you have it because the totals are calculated numbers.
However, the desire to click on the "45" in your example is the same as saying "I want to see the details of the 'aa,bb, cc...' grouping."
In that case do your Value Interaction on the attribute corresponding to column that has "aa,bb,cc" and "dd,ee,ff" as its values. If the user clicks on the applicable row, the detail report and can display the details of that grouping.
Hope that makes sense. -

Pivot table HELP in OBIEE Answers!!!
Hello,
I am having some problems in a “pivot table”, “Sections” and “Calculated Items” I have a section called 'e) External Income' and I would like the value reverted from a negative to a positive. In excel or any other form of calculation you can do this by * -1 (negative 1). However this statement does not work as a Calculated Item. This is the statement I am using = 'e) External Income'*-1 and I get the following error message “The semantics of the formula entered are not valid”.
I have also tried = 'e) External Income'-('e) External Income'+'e) External Income') this will give you it as a minus also but I have no error message this time, but the values stay the same.
Can this be done any help would be very appreciative.
Thank you
JohnI cannot change the folmula in the critera tab because this will chnage my values on the other 'Bins' I have created. Ref your other question i have a list of account codes and i have grouped ones together to create 4 "Bins". If i change the formula for one of the Bins it will chnage it for all of them but I only need it on the 'e) External Income'

Crosstabs or Pivot table using oracle 11g
Hi All,
I want to pivot my table and create something like below:
I have table in this format
Output Detail Objective Measure
NVM CSV Some text some text
VS F&M Some text somet text
I want it to display like on page
Output: NVM
Detail: CSV
Objective: Some text
Measure: some text
Output: Vs
Detail:CSV
Objective: Some text
Measure: Some text
Any idea how to do it?
Thanks in advancePivot does not appear to be necessary. Create a standard report using one of the default: vertical report... built-in report templates, or the Value Attribute Pairs template from the current theme.

Yogi. You can't really restrict the rows in a pivot table, but you can do this:

Export Pivot table data to a Excel file
Hi All,
I am using OBIEE 10.1.3.
In my asnwers I am displaying the Pivot view and want to export the results to a excel sheet. The dowlnoad option is not coming for Pivit view.
In case of compound view I am able to see the download option to export to excel sheet.
Please suggest.
thanksThe Compound Layout has a purpose and that is to display your report with the download optons you can "turn on," including "download to Excel." To answer your question of somehow enabling a "download link" from the Pivot Table view, sorry, you can't do that. However, here's what you can do:
In Answers, use the Compound Layout view to download the pivot table. If the Compound Layout view is used for other purposes and you need only the pivot table view to download (as a report designer) and you really need this functionality, then create a duplicate of the Compound Layout and put only your pivot table in it. Now you can download.
If you are talking about dashboards, then use the Properties>Report Links from the Properties button of the report and check off "download." Again, if your Compound Layout is used for other purposes (and requires other views in it), then drag the report into another section of the dashboard and in Edit Dashobard, click on the Properties of the report>Show View>Compound Layout:2 that you created in the previous paragraph. Enable downloading on this and you can download only the Pivot table. -
Cross Conditional format in Pivot Table
Hi Guys
I have an important client requirement where by I need to present the data in teh following format
CAMBODIA LAOS SRI LANKA
KPI_NAME PROPOSED_TARGET_VALUE MIN_TARGET_VALUE Aug-09 Sep-09 Oct-09 Aug-09 Sep-09 Oct-09 Aug-09 Sep-09 Oct-09
SERVICES PROVISIONING CALL RATE (%) <5% <5% 21.00% 68.00% 10.80% 1.300% 0.100% 1200.% 2.500% 5.000% 66.50%
The table is like that :
Measure Indicator
13 38 White
17 1016 Red Green
15 3456 White
19 8644 Grey
12 41605.886 White
10 52647.007 White
This is possible only through pivot table whereby country and period dimesions have been put in pivot.
Also there is a requirement to paint the background colour in Red Amber Green ... and for that I ahve to create a new column where after comparing i can put the status as Red ..Amber ..Green and based on the cross column conditional formating I can paint the fact value like 21.00% (shown above) .
But when I am importing that table in pivot view all the backgrounf colour vanishes. since cross column conditional formating is not supported in pivot.
Is there any way out to achieve this requirement .
Thankshttp://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/04/29/oracle-bi-ee-101332-conditional-formatting-based-on-multiple-character-columns-in-a-pivot-table/

How can we modify the maximum no. of columns in pivot table ?
hi all,
How can we modify the maximum no. of columns in pivot table ?
do i need to change the nqconfig.ini or instanceconfig file or else?
thnx..A little search on the forum :
In the instanceconfig.xml add a <PivotView> element under <ServerInstance> if one does
not exist already.
Within the <PivotView> element add an entry that looks like:
<MaxCells>nnnnnn</MaxCells>
where nnnnnn is your desired limit for the maximum total number of cells allowed
in a pivot.
Warning: an excessively large number will cause more memory consumption and
slower browser performance. The details here :

Unable to execute pivot table option
Hi group,
We are running OBIEE version 10.1.3.4.1. We use OBIEE with APCC (Advance Planning Command Center).
When some clients (PC's) try to run Pivot Table using next option (Answers--> Shared Folders -->Other --> Resource Utilization --> Modify --> and then push the Show results in a pivot table) they get next message "Currently you have not a initiated session in the Oracle BI Server".
When I try the same option from my PC and directly in the server there is no problem, so I think it could be a client issue.
If somebody has gotten this same problem, any advice will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,

When including multiple Criteria in the "Rows" section of Pivot Table we get a desired format of Pivot Table in BI Analytics Answers. However, when creating a Pivot Table in a BI Publisher Template, Adding multiple measures in "Rows" results in the creation of duplicate rows.
For example, the desired format is as follows:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AisK8m4TPhzKdDMzeDhfUjBZNTF5NWhleEEtX3piLXc&hl=en_US#gid=0
this appears in BI Analytics Answers.
However, when this table is made in BI Publisher Template, the format is as follows:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AisK8m4TPhzKdFlDQjBGU0NORWltNXp3STE1WTJZUVE&hl=en_US#gid=0
Please help on how to obtain a pivot table in BI Publisher in the desired format.
RegardsWhile making Pivot Tables in RTF, make the rows "inline" rather than "outline".

Measure Values are not shown in the pivot tables
Measures without aggregation (in rpd) are not shown in pivot table.
Im trying to add multiple columns in the fact table as measures, one which is summable had has the SUM function and three which are not summable.
The initial report will be as follows and I have been able to get the data displayed.
Year | Month| Company Name| SUM(C1)| C2|C3
However if I pivot the table as follows data in column C2 and C3 are not Displayed.
Columns
Year
Month
Company
Rows
Measure Lablel
Measures
SUM(C1)
C2
C3
Should we have an aggregation rule applued in C2 and C3 ?Yes, all the column entries must have agg rule. You can specify one such as 'first' in the pivot table.

How do I create a pivot table in numbers?
How do I create a pivot table in numbers?
SO HERE'S WHAT I GOT TO WORK:
Truth is all the real functionality of categories and pivot tables exists in the formulas. You just have to
Create a new table with a list of the categories in the header column.
Add SUMIFS() formula from the browser into the next column.
Enter your arguments and make sure to check "Preserve Column" for each of them.
Although it might not be apparent, you can enter multiple test value and condition pairs.
While I admit the formulas are not nearly so graphic as categories, they are cleaner and less restricting, and they aren't any more difficult to work with than pivot tables. -
Oracle answers pivot table grand total problem
hi All,
I am working with OBI dashboard. I have a problem in creating a pivot table. To make it simple assume I have 3 columns: Sales, Target Sales, and %Diff. I added a total row but the problem is the total for %Diff is actually the average of the column instead of the %Diff between "total Sales" and Total "Target Sales". The aggregation rule for %Diff is set to Avg. and "Show data as" is set to Value.
I have seen the same problem here before in some forums.
Can anybody help me on this?
Thanks
Sanathe problem is the data is coming from Discoverer (another team converted data from disco. to OBI anwsers) so I do not have access to Biz model.
is there any other way for that?
thanks
