Account asssignment category mandatory field

has any one help me how to put mandatory field of account assignment category in purhcase order

It can also be done via different material types...
Do you want it for all or for few material types only.....

    Maintain Default Cost Centers for the Cost Elements in OKB9 transaction..Please check with your Controlling Consultant for this...
    And  SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Account Assignment > Maintain Account Assignment Categories > For Account Assignment Category (For e.g. "K" - Cost Center), in detailed screen, "Derive acct. assgt." should be active

    Hy Folks,
    i am looking for a solution to define the Material Number as a mandatory field if the Account Assignment Category "Q" is used in a Purchase Order Item. Field Selection of Account ASsignment category Q is not sufficient as the material number is not included.
    Any ideas for a solution in SAP standard customizing? (sure, user exit will be possible...)

    With settings in SPRO this is not possible you have to go for exits or BADI take help of ur ABAP er.

    And how attached these group chart of accounts gl to the operational chart of account GL.

    the assignment from operational chart of accounts to group chart of accounts is done in OB13. Follow the steps in Customizing IMG FIn. Acc. (new) / Consolidation preparation (new) / General specifications / G/L and FS Charts of accounts...

  • Item category and Account assignment category field grayed out in PR/PO

    Hello all,
    While making a PR/PO we use both the item category and account assignment category. However, after saving the PR/PO, when i try to change the fields through ME22N/ME52N, the fields are greyed out. I dont think this can be controlled through the layout screen.
    Is there anyway the fields can be made modifiable in ME22N/ME52N ?

    Hi,
    Well, actually you can control the Field settings in customization of Document Type. Check the following :
    Go to SPRO>MM>Purchasing>Purchase Order>Define screen layout at document level
    Click on the desired Document Type and see if the Field selection for Item Cat and Acct Assignment is checked for Display for that Document Type. If it is then change it to Optional.
    Now, Go to SPRO>MM>Purchasing>Purchase Order>Define Document Type and see if the Field Selection Key is assigned to the (Updated just now) document Screen layout.

  • Mandatory field required in PCUI Account Management

    hi gurus,
               i am on CRM project with PCUI as front end interphase. my requirement is to have a mandatory field in Account management. for ex i want have First name and Search term to mandatory fields with Red Star(astrich)  against these two fileds. for this i tried to control in the field groupings and crmc_blueprint_ct also. but its not working and when i tried to save the account its throwing and errors
    "*Enter a value for field Date organization founded", "*
      *"Enter a value for field Name 1 of organization"*
    *"Enter a value for field Name 2 of organization".*        
                                     despite filling all the fields the system is throwing the above errors. so please help me in solving this problem.

    Hi Nanda Kishore,
    All you need to do is, in the field group structure for the fields, the field attribute 'Mandatory' check box has to be checked. Then the field group has to be regenerated.
    If you have already done this plz send the URL you are using or the procedure how you are launching the application.

    Hi,
    It is not possible to make material number mandatory for Account Assignment Category.
    But you can make Account Assignment mandatory for a material if material is non-valuated (Mat Type - UNBW) or Non-stock (Mat Type - NLAG)

    I am creating PO for non valuated stock material - UNBW . system giving me error of maintaining Account assignment category but I could'nt find the field to maintain.

    Do check it once in the item overview, the column name could be from 'A'
    Or
    You can also find the Account assignment tab in the Po item details...Check it carefully for the line items for which you have used UMBW material type material....
    Even if it doesn't follows, check here:
    SPRO >> Logistics General >> MM >> Basic settings >> material type >> here execute for your define/configure material types...here double click on the UMBW and check whether there is any settings..

    Create  Material Master Data (MMD) for Required Material ( MM01)
    In the first Screen I am Entering the mandatory fields for creating a material
    •     Material
    •     Industry Sector
    •     Material  type
    After filling these details   , click on  SELECT VIEWS
    For MM point of view select ,  Basic Data 1,  Purchasing , Accounting  1
    Basic Data 1 :
    Give the material  description -
    Basic Unit of Measure -
    Material  Group----
    Division -
    General Item Category group----
    After entering it there…these values will be copied or take the same values in the next screen also… But there would be some of the fields again mandatory like in Purchasing..
    Purchasing :
    Purchasing  Value key -
    Reminder 1, 2, 3 , Standard Del time Varience
    Shipping  Instructions----
    Under delivery tolerance , Over delivery tolerance ,  Minimum delivery Quantity in %
    GR Processing time -
    Accounting  1 :
    Valuation Class -
    Price Control-  If it is  S( standard price  give the Standard Price value  )
    --If it is  V( Moving average price  , give moving average price from which date)
    After completion of these details  save the data
    Material has been created
    Now before creating a material there are screen in SD point of view…
    So what are the remaining fields that are mandatory in SD point of view…

    i would like to add more screen and field in continuation of thread
    Screen-General plant data 1/2
    Field - Profit Center
    as far as material creation cycle is concern
    Run TCode MM01
    after that Select Material Type
    and Industry Type
    after that click OK you will get another screen of Department view
    select as per your requirement
    1-Basic data 1/2
    2-purchasing View
    3-accounting
    4-General plant data 
    5- sales data1/2/3
    by putting enter you will get another Screen in this screen you will have to define the plant storage location Sales organization etc.........

  • Mandatory fields during PO creation - but optional in the customizing

    Hi all,
    If i create or change a PO, some fields are mandatory (ex: plant, account assignment category, purchasing group). However, in the customizing, theses fields are optional. I checked the customizing in tcode OMF4/field selection keys NBF, AKTA, AKTH, ME21N, ME22N, PT0F (we use standard item category). In all these field selection keys, the fields are optional.
    Does anyone have any idea?

    The above mentioned by Manish is the correct way to check.
    But sometimes it happens that you have copied some document type and created your own, then also changing in your new document type will not change the field setting. You have to change the setting in SAP default document type then only changes is reflected.
    Eg: In PR document type which is generated from order standard SAP does not allow you to change Purchasing group, even if you copy this document type and create your own then also it will not allow. You have to change in the standard then only its results are reflected on the screen.

  • PO with new account assignment category to G/L without CO object

    Hello all,
    A customer in a company I work for asked me to create a new account assignment category (AAC) with G/L account as mandatory field and no CO object as mandatory.
    He would like to create a PO with this AAC directly to balance-sheet account without any CO invloved (such as PO to stock) without a material.
    I have bad feelings about this process but I do not have anything substantial to convince him against it.
    Am I wrong ? Is this process allowed ? What "bad things" may happen if we use this process ?

    Sir -
    These stuffs are done by many indian companies to inject some bad accounts. If this is a requirement, no choices left.
    It is possible to enter the material text and u can proceed with the things u need. You can create the value contract for this requirement.

  • Error with Account Assignment Category

    Hi,
    While Creating the PO I am getting this error. I just copied the Material type of ROH into Consumables..
    In OMS2 alos I ticked Qty and Value based Updating..
    The Error Msg is...
    Account assignment mandatory for material RH1001 (enter acc. ***. cat.) Message no. ME062
    Diagnosis
         There is no provision for value-based inventory management for this  material type in this plant. Account assignment is thus necessary.
    Procedure
         Please enter an account assignment category.

    Sorry for my earlier Post.....
    Actually for Consumable Material Quantity and Value Updations Should not be Active since they consume Once it is Goods Receipted.
    Regarding your Issue Purchase Order for Consumable Material will be always Created with an Account assignment Category Such as Cost center Etc.
    So Please go to OMS2 Trxn Code and Select your Consumable Material type and in Quantity / Value Update Field Put tick mark against In No Valuation areas and save.
    Now Create a Purchase Order in ME21N with Account assignment Category and Proceed.

  • Profit Center in Create PO w/o Account Assignment Category

    Hi SAP Experts,
    Still related to my previous post re: display of the Profit Center field in the PO create screen without Account Assignment Category.  Have looked into the SAP HELP ECC 6.0 on why is it not part of the "Maintain AAC" but to no avail.
    Please explain the following for my understanding:
    1) Why is the <blank> AAC for no acct assignment cat is not in the maintain AAC in SPRO in ECC6.0?
    2) If this is standard in ECC6.0, how can I add a new entry in Maintain AAC that will also behave as the <blank> AAC (no AAC)?

    Hi Melanie,
    1. The simple answer is that Acc assignment cat is mandatory , so if we filled with blank then the system wont allow it
    2. Blank acc assigment mean not acc assignment need for the Transaction so you cannot set a blank acc assigmment which behave like an exist acc assigment.
    Sorry , not mean to harass ,  but its seem not possible. Maybe you need to think for another workaround for your requirement.

    Normally Profit center data maintained in the material master, same data will get coipied to the sales order while creating sales order in VA01 transaction.
    My requirement is if profit center data is not maintained/available in the sales order system should give the error message
    For this I need Profit center field as mandatory field in the sales order(VA01).
    Can you please give possibilities ASAP.
    Give the SHD0 maintenance step by step.

    I beleive that you are talking about the Profit centre field not maintined in sales order hence not picked in delivery and billing and there is an FI posting error  (GL account error) because of that
    Profit centre is maintained in MMR and the same flows thro the sales cycle and i am quite sure if maintained in MMR it will be picked automatically and no need to make it mandatory in sales order( as the purpose is already solved)
    But there is no standard option in SAP like (even if Account assignment category of the material is not maintained in MMR it can be given in VF02 and the document can be released for accounting) to give the Profit centre in the billing and release the same
    Profit centre field field is picked from masters and flows in the entire flow and that field is greyed out (like no option of inserting it inbetween)
    As told by others incompletion log in sales doc type will take care for future orders and for the already created orders the standard option is cancel billing, reverse delivery and open the sales order and give   Profit centre field and process it (if only a few orders are there)
    But if the already created orders are many then from the FI Area  you need to go for development ( we also faced this issue as profit center not maintained in MMRs and hence accounting got hit and there were tons of billing docs and our FI consultant made some development to open it and solve it) FI consultant should be able to do this for already created orders
    Instead of making Profit centre field as mandatory field in the sales order better make it a mandatory entry in MMR
