Pixel coordinates for different size docs.

I am makeing a pixel colorsample on a particular point in a document. The problem is when the picture demesions change the point where I am selecting from changes. I was wondering if anyone has an idea to handle the different sizes. Thanks.

So I figured what my current measurements percentage was and included it in my calculations for my point. Thank you for your help.
This is what I used.
var w = app.activeDocument.width.as( 'px' );
var h = app.activeDocument.height.as( 'px' );
pw=w*0.405;
ph=h*0.48125;

  • Am creating document with Pages. pages are in "portrait" orientation, but two charts at end need to be "landscape". changing the orientation for one section changes it for entire doc. can i have different orientations in Pages for different sections?

    am creating a document with Pages.  all pages using "portrait" orientation, except 2 appendices need to be in "landscape".  in Word for Windows it is possible to have different page orientations for different sections of a document.  is that possible with Pages.  Even when i put the appendices in a different section, changing the page orientation changes it for the entire doc.

    Make a separate document the size and orientation you want.
    Turn that into a pdf and add it back into the original Pages document or into the pdf from from that document.

  • Is it possible to have same file size for different dpi?

    I changed one.TIFF file (300dpi, 1024X1332)  to .jpg files of four different dpi. But when I checked the four result jpg files, I found out that they are all in same file size and quality.( I also have checked the property of the files in the Windows.)
    I think more DPI means more data and more file size. Am I wrong?
    I use Photoshop CS 5.1(64bit, WINDOWS) - which is part of my Adobe Master Collection CS5.5.
    TIFF(300dpi, 1024X1332) ->
    1. JPG(72dpi, 1024X1332) : 306KB
    2. JPG(108dpi, 1024X1332) : 306KB
    3. JPG(144dpi, 1024X1332) : 306KB
    4. JPG(600dpi, 1024X1332) : 306KB
    I tested a few times more with different files. and same result comes out.(same file size for different dpi)
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes absolutely. Great observation.  PPI does not control the number of pixels, just how big they are.
    Now, if you change the PPI in the Image Size dialog with Resample checked.. then, that is a different story. In that case you will be changing the pixel dimension of an image (i.e.,changing the total number of pixels making up the image) while keeping its print size.
    In your test files, you will notice all the print sizes are different, because all you were telling Photoshop to do was change the size of the pixels (if or when the image is ever printed), which is really just a bit of metadata of the file.

  • Best resolution for different screen sizes?

    Hi,
    I just created a project and several of the viewers complained that they had to scroll horizontally in order to view the movie.
    What is the best resolution to record my next project in so as to ensure that no user will have to scroll (neither vertically or horizontally) to see the contents?
    Alternatively, is there some type of feature that automatically adjusts the contents to the viewer's screen?
    Thanks very much in advance.

    Hi there
    I think many folks use 800x600 as a common size.
    Choosing the "Best" resolution is nearly always a bit of an art form. You need to consider the lowest common denominator. For example, are your tutorials intended for senior citizens? If so, then you need to consider that they may be running an older computer configured for a smaller resolution.
    There are ways to coax the video to play back at whatever resolution is available, but they all will involve a sacrifice in quality. This is because any time you play back your project at a different size than it was recorded, the quality will suffer. The degree to which it suffers depends entirely on how much scaling is happening. Scale just a little and it's not too bad. Scale a lot and things go downhill.
    One way to allow scaling is to link to the .SWF instead of the .HTM that is produced. Another way is to edit the HTML page Captivate creates. Remove the pixel values and insert percentages.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Different Text Size for different mobile devices and Tabbed View Application

    Hi,
    I am developing an sample mobile application to target all mobile devices (IPhone/IPad/IPod and Android).
    I am facing an Issue that i am using default text size for the TextInput, TextArea and label but text size look so small for some devices, i discuss this with some(unkown) person(he is an IPhone developer).
    He told me that in Iphone development for different devices they use different text size.
    So how would I do the same at our Flex Mobile application ?
    Please provide me help regarding this
    There is one more problem in the application. I have tabbed view application, and i assign the firstview of the tab after 10 or more seconds of interval so that data will load in the application properly.
    But issue is that my first tab is not show anything at first go. When we switch the tab then it loads the screen and application work fine.
    Please provide me any help so that i can see the first Tab Screen.
    Thanks

    Hi there. For your font issue you need to set up a variable call it var fontSize or something. Then have an if statement that reads something like if (stage.stageWidth <= 320) fontSize=8 else if (stage.stageWidth > 320 || stage.stageWidth <= 640) fontSize = 12.
    Then instead of giving your font a size give it the size of fontSize variable and it will check for stage width or whatever you base it on and apply that size to your text field.
    I had done this for an app I did for Kellogg Garden Products but if you notice when you go from portrait to landscape mode the font size increases using this technique.

  • How to set different pointsize  (Font Size) for different text range in the single textframe.

    I have a one textframe in which i want to  set three different pointsize(font size) for three different text ranges. I have set different tag name for different text ranges . So How can I set different pointsize in the single texmframe.
    Please reply me if anyone is aware of it.
    Thanks,

    Jack,
    Extending Martti's post, you can create an XSLT that will add an element around the ASD2.1 part when you import the XML file into FrameMaker. Then FrameMaker's EDD can format this added element with a font different from the one used in the content element.

  • Customisation for PO Release (different Values for different Doc Types)

    Dear Experts,
    I need to configure for PO release procedure where in the Characteristics would be Plant (2 Plants), Doc Type (3 types - Standard PO, Imports PO & Capital PO) and Value (2 stage release: 0-100000 & >100000 INR for Std PO, 0-200000 & >200000 INR for Imports PO and 0-300000 & >300000 INR for Capital PO).
    Please let me know where I shoud define the different Values for different Docs for the Release procedure to work properly.
    Or let me know the entire procedure for achieving the same.
    Regards,
    MNP

    Hi MNP,
    You have to create different CLASSes in IMG with the possible combination of different characteristics,
    EX. CLASS EKKO11 - Plant A, Doc type- Std PO, Value- 0-100000 & >100000 INR
          CLASS EKKO22-  Plant A, Doc type- Import PO, Value-  0-200000 & >200000 INR
          CLASS EKKO33-  Plant A, Doc type- Capital PO, Value-  0-300000 & >300000 INR  and same for other plant
    then assign these classes to the respective Release group.

  • How do we do production orders for same item code in different sizes

    Hi,
    We have Items which we buy as a single sheet of material and our customers can ask for us to cut the complete sheet into different sizes before despatching it. i.e
    Item Code Sheet1: Sheet size 100mm x 100mm
    Customer asks for sheet to be cut into 10 off 10mm x 10mm sheets, which we presently put on the sales order as a line note
    We then generate a production order for this item and indicate on the production order printout the line note
    We've recently had a customer who has asked for Item 1 in two different sizes on the same sales order ie
    Order Line 1 Sheet1 Qty:1 Line note: cut into 10mm x 10mm sheets
    Order Line 2 Sheet1 Qty:1 Line note: cut into 50mm x 50mm sheets
    When generating the Production order SAP combines the items into
    Product No: Sheet1
    Planned Qty: 2
    Where as we want it to create 2 production orders 1 of each different sizes items.
    I know I can create BOMs for those two sizes, but customers can ask for the sheets to be cut to whatever size they want. Is the best method to create BOMs on the fly for each different sizing option or are there alternative methods that are easier to manage ?
    Thanks
    Carl

    Hi Carl Rutter,
    You have to creat 2 special production order for this item. when issue the component make sure you issue the stock as per the cosumption becaue one have 10mmx10mm and the another item have 50x50 in this case you issue component by square inch wise. for example 10*10 = 100 squre inch.
    50*50 = 2500 square inch so the cost will be approtionate. you can Use multiple uom method to obtain this, other wise you have covert into stock then you issue the component. If you want traxk size wise ,you can use batch option for Finishe goods.

    Hi,
    Can anybody help me of designing Vi for different screen sizes. I have designed a VI for a monitor of small size and lower resolution but when I open the same Vi on a different monitor,objects are not aligned properly. The properties which I have changed are
    Window appearence->Default
    Window Size -> Panel size 0,0   & Tick marked options of Maintain propotions for different monitors and scale all objects
    Window Run Time position-> Maximum

    Imran,
    I can't solve your problem entirely.  However when I have to write a program that will be deployed on a variety of monitor sizes, I tend to set the size of the Front Panel to suit the smallest monitor, and then remove the ability of the user to resize it.
    Also, set it to run in the centred position.
    See attachments.

  • Resizable page for different screen sizes but with static image content. Shall I use media query?

    I’m making a page that has of mostly image content. It’s a large circle in the middle so I want it to be centered vertically and horizontally. I also want it to stay centered and resized proportionally for different screen sizes. I’ve read about media query but it seems to me that the elements just become fluid. Can I make the elements stay in place using the media query?

    Here's the code I'm working with now, I've taken away the things that I don't really understand.
    It's working but I guess it won't hold when I start with the media queries.

  • Disk space being reported differently for same size drives?

    I have a 1TB drive inside my computer. I have a 1TB external drive for Time Machine backups. I have a 2TB external drive for videos. I know Apple changed the way Snow Leopard calculates disk/file size to base 10, from base 2.
    My internal 1TB drive is reported as 999.86GB. My external 1TB drive is reported as 999.87GB. My external 2TB drive is reported as 2TB. Why are the two 1TB drives being reported as less than 1TB, and at different sizes, while my external 2TB drive is being reported as 2TB in base 10 [properly, according to Snow Leopard]? If Snow Leopard is calculating sizes using base 10, shouldn't both 1TB drives show as 1TB each?

    "what drive manufacturer advertises a 1TB drive not as 1TB?"
    I don't know, that's not what I said anyway. I said drives may vary slightly in size due to different
    cylinder/head layouts which may affect overall gross size, which would also affect formatted size.
    Bear in mind that Apple's GUID partition scheme eats up more space than APM or MSDos partition
    schemes. In fact given the size you quoted, (999.86), if you had used an Apple Partition Map (APM)
    partition, the Volume size would have been more than 1000GB, but drive manufacturers don't
    guarantee formatted drive size in any case. They only go by raw unformatted drive size, which in
    your case would be about 1,000,204,886,016 Bytes before formatting using the GUID partition
    table (GPT) scheme. That being the case (and it is), this case is indeed closed is it not?

    Hi guys,
    want to generate different spool for diff billing docs generated using VF04, when doing mass billing.
    Pls reply guys...
    Thanks & Regards,

    Are u using smartforms.
    u when u loop at invoices and calling the smartform FM, u can make this parameter of output options as space. ls_control_param-no_close = ' '.
    this will close spool and create a new one when fm is again called.

  • Is it possible to have Different Interval Ranges for the same Doc Type

    Dear All,
    Here is the issue.Is it possible to have different interval ranges for the same document type according to certain condition.Like my client , wants his interval ranges  be divided according to region(which are many)
    Regards,
    Sameer Jalees

    Hello,
    As you know we can only assign one number range for External and one number range group for internal in the sales document type.
    If you want different number ranges based on the regions, then as Jignesh suggested, you need to go for an enhancement.
    Use the exit USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE in program MVA45AFZZ, include a Z table with region as a critera and number range group for different numbers based on the regions. Talk to the business and get more details, get the help of ABAP team for technical details.

  • Draw line between black pixel : coordinates of selected pixels ?

    Hi
    I want to build a script which can check a Photoshop file and :
    - find black pixel
    - for each black pixel, look for another black pixel within maximum distance of 5 pixels
    - then draw a line between the two black pixels.
    I wrote this script below (my first script ...), but it's VERY slow (and my final image is VERY big), I think because I test the colour for each pixel of the image.
    So another solution would be to first select black pixel with magic wand, then the script save all coordinates of selected pixels, then my script wil test only this pixels (less than 1% of the pixels are black in my image).
    Is it possible with JavaScript ?
    Thank you for your response !

    The first alert should have shown the first pathPoint.anchors for all the subPaths in the path.
    The xyArray is just something I added for the alerts. The array 'myPathInfo' should have all the info extracted from the path.
    myPathInfo.length will tell you how many subPaths are in the Path.
    myPathInfo[index].entireSubPath.length will tell you how many pathPoints are in that subPath
    myPathInfo[index].entireSubPath[index].anchor will tell you the position of that pathPoint.
    The indexes start with zero.
    The bounding box of the entire subPath can be hard to work out just from the pathPoints. Unless all the point are corner points the path may extend beyond the anchors. One think you can do is create a new path from just one of the subPaths, convert by to a selection, and then get the bounds from the selection. You can make a new path from a subPath using the 'myPathInfo' array from above.
    app.activeDocument.pathItems.add("myPath1", [myPathInfo[0]]);
    That line will make a new path from the first subPath. Change the index to use a different subPath.
    Some other info that may help.
    app.activeDocument.histogram[0] will tell you how may black pixels are in the document. But its no help determining where they are. If that returns 0 there are no black pixels.
    If you don't have any luck working with converting the original color range selection into a path and need to go back to searching with the colorSampler it may help to use a grid approach. For example make a square selection, the size depending on how scattered the black pixels are, say 25x25px. Then use color range to select black. With an active selection it will only select pixels in that selected area( if any). You could then check to see if there is a selection. If not make another same size square to the right edge of the last area. If there is a selection, the solid property will tell you if more than one black pixel was selected( unless they are right next to each other ). If solid == true the selection bounds will tell you where the pixel is. If false you have to then search that square. But if there are areas where there are no black pixels checking a square range of pixels at once should be quite a bit faster than checking every pixel. And checking the historgram first will let you know if you should bother searching to start with.
